The restaurant has a nice dim ambiant vibe! We decided to try the family style where we can tell the waiter about our food preferences and they'll make a surprise 4 course menu for us for $65 pp before tax/tip. We were not expecting the huge amount of food and had to takeout a lot of it! Highlights were the linguini, hot honey pizza, and ribs! We were not a huge fan of the vodka rigatoni since the alcohol didn't burn off well and we could smell the vodka and had the aftertaste. Would recommend this if you want to try a bit of everything on the menu!

Back at Pepinos exactly a year later with the same girlfriend who enjoyed it with me. I am so glad we finally got to order the spaghetti and meatballs - absolutely no regrets and all joy when we saw that massive meatball piled on top. This time around, I was also still impressed with the appetizers, particularly the salad. This place makes great salads! The avocado and feta paired really nicely with the greens and the dressing was light, tart, and refreshing. The cheesy bread may not rival last year's cheesy dish, but it was solid nonetheless. And as we did last year, we each ended up with a full portion of leftovers. Great food, service, and vibes. I must try to come here more!

My boyfriend and I were around the neighbourhood attending a Yelp Elite event at Glitch and was still hungry afterwards so swinged by Pepino's for a late dinner bite. We arrived around 8:35pm and was told there would be a 30 minute wait, which we were fine with. Even on a wet Wednesday evening, the restaurant was busy and we realized it might be due to Dine Out Vancouver. Regardless, this is a busy spot and reservations are required for prime time dining. We got our table in less than 30 minutes and while waiting, were served water. This was a really nice touch and shows the warm lovely service at this establishment. Since we weren't overly hungry, we opted out of Dine Out and ordered the small House Avacado Salad with feta, Beets, and pistachios. Of course, we also ordered our favourite Spaghetti and meatballs. As per usual, solid meal and we had tons of leftovers. Though we couldn't even remotely finish what we ordered, my boyfriend reminisce about the amazing Big Pauly double pepperoni pizza we got last time and is already looking forward to our next visit to have it again! We definitely want to try the $61 'Eat like a family' option next time we bring some friends. Until then, we will be enjoying our leftovers!

Our new Italian go to spot! While it is very difficult to get into and requires much advanced planning to get a reservation, this place worth the wait! It's a warm cozy restaurant, with a simple but fantastic menu and great staff. We have been a few times and our favorite dishes are penne with vodka sauce, chicken piccata and the meatballs! Somehow the meatballs are velvety smooth and still the best I've ever had. The tiramisu is also fantastic with ending note. We hope to be back again soon but this time with more so we can finally try the family menu!

They didn't have any tables available but they directed me to their sister restaurant that offers their menu and luckily we scored seats at the bar! Dinner was delicious and great carb loading for our half marathon. Their "hot sauce" for their pizza is just buffalo sauce not anything Italian just so yall know!

I came to this restaurant yesterday with my husband, kids and their partners. I was warmly greeted by the staff who knew that I was celebrating my birthday and the host gave me a birthday hi-5! Our waiter was fantastic and attentive. We chose not to do the set family style at $61/person, but we ordered a few dishes and shared like family style so that we could taste a bit of everything. We thought we had ordered too much food and our waiter was very thoughtful to tell us which items he would take out if he had to. This really impressed us because other restaurants would push you to order more food. We ended up ordering everything we wanted and it was the perfect amount. The quaint atmosphere was simple with only a few tables. This made the staff very attentive to refilling our waters (still and sparkling) as well as wiped our table before putting down new plates. It wasn't loud, but it wasn't quiet either. It was perfect to have a good conversation but not hear the table next to you. I am looking forward to coming back here again and trying more dishes. Everything was fantastic

What an amazing place! Came here with friends for a celebration and we had the "eat like a family" which was $61 per person. There were four of us and we were not disappointed! The chef started with two appetizers of burrata and focaccia with balsamic vinegar followed by house avocado salad, feta, and beets. Next was the pasta which consisted of rigatoni alla vodka and linguinie alla bolognese. There were four yummy bountiful plates ! Then came the pork chop alla pizzalola and the cherry coke baby back ribs which were absolutely mouthwatering. The main platters also came with sides of sauteed wild mushrooms and roasted broccolini. At last were the dessert to share fo ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. We ate a lot and there were still leftovers to pack up. They were not skimmpy with the servings. The place was old fashioned but super cozy and packed with groups and lively conversation. Street parking is free. The servers were super friendly and courteous. I can see why this place is busy!

I don't get the hype!? My friend and I had finally snagged a reservation for dins and were so looking forward to this spot. Everyone and their dog raves about this place. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. It's giving old cozy italian spot but there are no windows so it feels cramped and is loud. At first, we got seated next to the bathroom (not nice), so thankfully they moved us to the centre area, which we were then sandwiched between two families. This isn't the restaurants fault but the 2 kids beside us were visibly sick and coughing (essentially on our table). Our server was okay, and progressively got worse. We had a few questions and she was very condescending - not okay. As for the food, we got the garlic cheese bread (the best thing we had). I'd give it a 12/10!! We then ordered pasta and it was so mediocre. We thought about getting the pizza, but $38 a pop is criminal! Lastly, we ordered the Tiramisu - my italian friend was disgusted. It was salty, wet and like a custard texture. I really don't understand why everyone raves about this place. There are many other italian spots that are worth the hype.

A few days ago, I went to this place and had a really lovely dinner. The food immediately stood out for its comforting, well executed Italian flavors. I ordered the gnocchi in a creamy sauce, and it was rich without being heavy. The gnocchi were soft and pillowy, with a sauce that felt indulgent but still balanced. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, from the seasoning to the texture of the pasta. The portions were generous, and the presentation was simple yet inviting, exactly what you hope for in a good Italian spot. The overall experience felt cozy and satisfying

No much to say about this place, the food is fantastic! The restaurant has that old timey feel and is very intimate. The service has always been exceptional! Don't try to eat here last minute, plan ahead with a reservation!

Love the vibes of their decor and ambiance with the dark wood. I loved the Vodka Rigatoni it's super creamy but the best was Linguine alla Vongole. It was garlicky without being too strong and it's not as heavy as a cream pasta. They also have a generous amount of clams. Personally not a big fan of the meatballs & spaghetti it doesn't mix well with the spaghetti. Also love their tiramisu, it's massive and strong coffee flavor. You can also take it to go, they'll give you a tub. The place is popular and definitely fills up quick, would recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Tip: If they're full already you can get a table next door at La Tana and order from Pepino's menu!

Great outing with friends. Haven't been to Pepinos since 2020. Menu has changed a bit but the ambiance, the taste and quality of the food, and the service hasn't changed since my last 5 star review. Tonight we tried the Caesar salad (5/5), the rigatoni ala vodka (5/5), the chicken 4/5 and the broccolini side dish. Everything was amazing and I can't imagine anything on their menu not living up to the expectations. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is located next to a fire station, sushi takeout and indoor bike gym. You can park in the underground pay lot shared between a hotel and public. The restaurant interior is pleasant and inviting, like dining in a rustic mansion. Restrooms are located on the upper level. The service was great and food was excellent overall - just one minor ding. Overall 4 stars. 1. Absolutely share the Octopus Mosaic, a carpaccio-preparation of paper-thin octopus fused together like chain mail armor, and bursting with flavor from the limoncello dressing. High protein and low carb too (5 stars) 2. Romaine salad was fresh and had light dressing with a quail egg snuck underneath. (4 stars) 3. No kid's menu here but they do offer half-sized entree portions with modifications. We got the rigatoni with butter parmesan and our son eventually ate half of it. He was probably still full from lunch. 4. The lobster-prosciutto stuffed chicken breast was skin-on and cooked perfectly. Very hearty dish, with veggies and gnocchi to add some carbs for balance. 5. Wife got the Branzino filet in Veloute sauce. Fish was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The minor ding is that a few hours after dinner my wife was getting super thirsty. It was either dehydration or maybe there was more sodium than expected. Vietnamese fish sauce has a similar effect on her. Anyways, it was an excellent dish when we ate it. Also, they had this awesome beet puree on the side which our son loved. He eventually ate some of my chicken when slathered with the beet puree. Kids and their quirky appetites...

I sat inside and the felt like I was in a cozy Italian cafe. Light music, warm lighting, immaculate vibes. The service is incredible. The two servers on tonight made sure that our glass of water was full throughout the meal. Now the food. THE FOOD. Started off with the sourdough bread and an order of meatballs. The sourdough was hot and soft but held its shape when dipping into olive oil and vinegar or when using to scoop sauce off a plate. The meatballs were tender and fresh. There was a bit of a wait between the appetizers and entrees (this is NOT a detriment, just bear with me), and when we got our pastas, they were the freshest I've had in a long time. The sign in front of the restaurant advertised fresh pasta and did NOT disappoint. We ordered the pesto dish with chicken and the gnocchi with chicken and both dishes were INCREDIBLE!! Absolutely blew us away. Finished off the meal with a lemoncello shot and it went down so smooth, I wouldn't have realized it had alcohol in it if I didn't know that beforehand. Gastown lured us in, but when we return, it will be for Robba Da Matti.

When I arrived, I was told that I hadn't booked an outdoor table and that I would have to wait if I wanted to be seated with my dog. What made the situation especially frustrating was that there were several tables available. There were three four-person tables occupied by only two people each, and they had literally just sat down and still had their menus. I asked if it would be possible to separate one of the tables, but the host immediately said no because they were "eating dinner." They clearly hadn't started their meal yet. She even mentioned that the tables would normally be separated, but that it was "too late" to do it now. Unfortunately, I was in a rush and couldn't wait, so I had to leave without dining. What disappointed me most wasn't just the seating issue, but the host's attitude. Her facial expressions and tone were dismissive and made me feel like I was being unreasonable for simply asking a question. Overall, it was a really disappointing and disrespectful experience. Good customer service is about trying to find solutions, not making guests feel unwelcome. Based on this experience, I won't be returning and won't be recommending Tavola to my friends.

Our favourite was the duck liver and the ricotta & pancetta. We didn't like the focaccia at all. The bread felt doughy and under baked. The tuna cicchetti was a chopped raw tuna with a spicy aioli on top. It wasn't our cup of tea For the cicchetti, the flavours were okay but I felt like the biscuit or bread on the bottom was too crispy and didn't hold the toppings well. We had recently come back from Venice and they didn't remind us of the cicchetti in venice at all. It was more like a cracker with toppings on top. The cracker also got soggy quite quickly (especially under the duck liver one). I would only get these again if they changed the bread underneath. We were curious about the pasta so we decided to get the bigoli con anatra. The duck didn't have a prominent duck flavour nor did the truffle. But the pasta itself was the saving grace. It had that snap that you would find in pastas in Italy but it was missing the chew. I liked the cheese and the fried basil that they used in this dish. Could have done with more of the basil to give it more lightness. The drinks were passable. The espresso martini wasn't smooth enough. The blueberry negroni sour lacked blueberry flavour but was strong enough for me. Service was really good and fast. Overall the food was okay.
