The management must have changed over the past couple of years- The new team is polite and they now take credit cards. Post-COVID safety measures are the installation of a special "window " to remove direct person to person contact. The food is reliable, but not spectacular. Dietary restrictions are challenging for them since many sauces are prepared in advance. The only items available for an allium-free allergy are steamed vegetables. TIP: NO DELIVERY Good in a pinch.

Good food and reasonable prices. Love the chicken with broccoli with brown rice. Egg rolls are good too. Would be better if they delivered but not the end of the world. Pick up is easy enough.

Fantastic homemade dumplings!!! They're so delicious and authentic (not the frozen ones you can get everywhere else). Everyone here is always so nice - it's our favorite take-out Chinese place.

Chan's Peking is everything you are looking for in a completely average Chinese takeout dining experience. MSG thru the roof, ridiculously bright red pork bits in your rice and egg rolls and those unidentified fried chicken meat blobs drizzled with whatever; plain with sauce on the side, it's Sweet and Sour, drizzled with reddish sauce: General Tso's, sprinkle some sesame seeds it transforms into Sesame Chicken, and so on. I must confess, I love it. Honestly, I crave places like this. A menu with 400 different (but the same) dishes, the rear illuminated menu glamor shots of Happy Family and other exotic culinary inventions swimming in "Fragrant Sauce" fills a need. The order routine; grab the correct menu (Lunch or Dinnner) from the counter. Extract a pencil from the plastic soup container full of raw rice and circle the items you want, hand it to the cashier who will shout your order to the cooks, hand you your ticket and turn the cash register display your direction with the total. Have a seat and watch your fellow diners, largely local IBM programmers (or local large IBM programmers) who have been specifically warned by their cardiologists NOT to eat here. A number of folks that dabble in Mandarin will do their best to extend a greeting or even order in the tongue of the owner; the folks behind the counter are not impressed. Hey, in China, even if you are a one in a million kind of guy, there are a 1,000 more just like you.

Thank god I don't live close to this place or I'd be compelled to work through the entire list of…read more40+ different dumplings. The fried pork and chive dumplings were great. The egg and shrimp dumplings... were different. They're a different flavor and consistency that I've ever been exposed to in dumplings which was interesting, but not my favorite. Anyways, the stand is very friendly, very attentive and the food is fast! Definitely a good spot!

4 stars...just a little more attention to detail and I'd punch it up to 5…read more. I was in the mood for dumplings and Palace dumplings has a 4+star rating on Yelp. Prices seemed reasonable, and location is prime for easy parking. The restaurant was pretty full when we arrived around 6p. We were told to sit anywhere, so we looked for a comfortable two top. We found one in the back, along side some counter top seating. The server delivered the menus and promptly asked for our beverage orders, honestly the way she said it I expected a full bar but no.. just bottled soft drinks, water and tea. I decided on a pot of green, a steal at $1.50/ pot or person. Refills on hot water graciously given throughout dinner. My wife was happy with water. We ordered the Chicken Lo Mein ($11.99,) Shrimp & Cabbage Dumplings ($15.99) and Pork & Cabbage Dumplings ($11.99.) The Lo Mein came out like the speed of light and piping hot. The Pork and Cabbage Dumplings followed right behind, it was then we knew, we ordered way too much food, and we hadn't even received our Shrimp dumplings yet. The servings are large for the price! What a good problem to have right!?! LEFTOVERS! We had enough time before the Shrimp dumplings came out to consolidate plates as the table was quite small, with the two serving plates of food, my tea pot and cup, both water cups, a napkin holder and a large wooden holder for sauces. Our table was at capacity. I looked at my Wife and knew she was thinking the same thing... "next time we'll do take out!" In my opinion this location for Palace Dumplings is strictly for the college crowd or the super casual diner. I thought the food was really good, but the dining experience not so much. Service was kind but the whole place was kinda sticky, bathroom wasn't clean enough and the seating is mildly uncomfortable. Overall a decent spot for a dumpling craving. Signed, The Happy Hour Huntress
