Locally owned by an Asian family that has been in the neighborhood for many years now. There's an extensive menu of mostly Cantonese food. The entrées have quite a bit of artfully sliced vegetables. There were five large plump shrimp in the garlic sauce. They were red and green bell peppers, small broccoli florets, mushrooms, carrots, snow peas. Everything was in sizes manageable with chopsticks. That's a good sign! There's several tables where you can eat in the restaurant. They have table service and take out. You can see into the kitchen. Finally got to try the third branch of green garden, compared to other on in Fishkill and Newburgh. Service was nice, was not rushed and when asked for hot oil no issues. Prices are about the same across board among the three I noticed. Wonton soup was good, plenty of filling and three large wontons, steak rolls which exist in two of the three locations was very good, I love this one uses spring rolls for them, so very crispy and flaky, filling is yummy. Shrimp and broccoli, was great, but really could way more sauce, since despite the shrimp being very large and broccoli being perfect, sauce really helps. read more

I stopped for Chinese takeout lunch at the new Green Garden located in the Fishkill Village Square (CVS/Gold's Gym) next door to Bagel Shoppe on Main Street. This casual "strip plaza" eatery is bright and clean, an order at the counter place with open kitchen and there's also self serve table seating in front of the counter. The place was quite busy when I arrived here around 1PM for lunch. There was also a sign in the window offering 10 percent off the menu as part of their grand opening special (until Aug 28th). They serve up Cantonese, Szechuan, and Hunan cuisine and offer the standard Chinese dishes & items and chef's special dishes on the menu. Most of the dishes on the menu are priced under $11. 31 Lunch Specials ($5.75-$6.25-served with choice of fried rice or white rice and choice of soup or egg roll until 3PM daily) and 20 Special Combination Plates ($7.25-$7.95-served with pork fried rice & egg roll) are offered. I ordered the L18 Pork Lo Mein Lunch Special ($5.75) served with Pork Fried Rice and Hot & Sour Soup. The discounted (grand opening special) total was $5.60 with tax. The food was cooked to order and ready in about 10 minutes. The portion of hot food was generous for the price. The food was very fresh and tasted delicious. The lo mein dish had a good balance of tender roast pork strips, mixed fresh vegetables (carrots, mushrooms, cabbage, onions, sprouts, scallions) and soft noodles and not greasy. The pork fried rice (light yellow color) had a soft texture with small pork cubes. The hot & sour soup had good flavors with a mild spicy and slightly sweet taste with whipped eggs, bean curd, mushrooms, cabbage, carrots, bamboo shoots & red pepper. Chinese food on Christmas Eve.. EPIC fail they did not provide my order of *Sesame Beef*, but instead it was *Sesame Chicken*.. bummer when I was looking forward to my beef order. As a family style meal I did end up enjoying their Pork Fried Rice, Chicken and Broccoli, and the General Tso Chicken. Their General Tso Chicken was soooo good and the sauce on their Chicken and Brocolli. Bummer on one of the fortune cookies for missing fortune paper inside.. For Chinese food outside of the city, this place has decent food. We usually get the chicken and broccoli or sesame chicken, and it's pretty good. You're not going to write home about it, but the people are okay and the food is a Ted better than other Chinese good places in the area. read more

I love this place so much. I'm so happy I changed from my otger chinese restaraunt to here. The chicken and broccoli is delicious with white rice, some duck sauce and hot mustard. The woman is so sweet, she knows my order everytime I call ahead for pick up and we always have short convo's. The only thing negative about the place is when her daughter comes home from college. She worked there during winter break 2018 and she was the rudest person ever. Whenever on the phone she would make you hold for 10 minutes. When I would come in for pick up she would have an attitude, forget some of the food I ordered or mess up the order by having different rice with the orders or forget an appitzer (like dumplings or the krab ragoon) and over charge. This wont effect the 5 stars I give this place because I know the woman who normally is always there works very hard and does an amazing job. read more

I have been ordering 2 quarts of Hot & Sour soup on a weekly basis for two years. Of course we order other items too. I have turned so many people on to their Hot & Sour soup over the years. Tonight it landed in the garbage. Someone added so much pepper it was inedible. My husband can eat extremely hot and spicy food but he couldn't eat this. I nearly choked with the first spoonful which was also the last. I ordered from DoorDash so I had to deal with them as a complaint- just not worth it as you are talking to someone in The Philippine and you can hear their roosters in the background. Recently moved to area. Tried this place once before & enjoyed it. Got take out tonight and food was awful. Vegetable lo mein lacked flavor and was soggy. White rice that came with meal looked like it was laying around for a while. Sesame shrimp was fair. Broccoli under shrimp was probably frozen or old. Inedible. Sauce as evidenced by photo was watery. Woman at counter could use hospitality lessons. Needless to say won't be returning. Will stick with take out off 9 in Fishkill near Shoperite. We had take-out here last night for first time. Pretty decent Chinese food. Wife had beef and broccoli and I had shrimp with lobster sauce, both with fried rice. The shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked but it was way too much sauce and way too few shrimp. Wife said her beef was tough but the broccoli and sauce had a good taste. Fried rive was very fresh tasting but kind of bland. Veggie egg rolls were fresh and delicious. The hot and sour soup looked amazing but was neither hot nor sour. Bland taste but fresh taste. Good food and lots of it. Watch out for the peppers though. I don't think I've ever gotten food this hot without asking for it. Also avoid pork dishes if you don't like those pork slices that look so uniform that they scream fake something here. Some common dishes are strange too, fried rice and lo mein for instance. Fried rice is a freebie with a large enough order. That's about what it should cost. White rice with a couple of peas and a few carrots in it, and lo mein has no flavor. So stick with General Tso's or Orange chicken and other items like that and you'll be happy. read more

I really cannot understand the rave reviews by some diners.It is a nice clean and bright place.There are generous supplies of soy and duck sauce packets to which you can help yourself.But... the Wonton Egg Drop soup was gelatinous.The pork chow mein had a very strange taste.The barbecued spare ribs were not very meaty.The chicken wings were good but not great. This is now the go-to place for Chinese take out in Fishkill. I just find the food better than Wing Sing and they're generous with the soy sauce packets (I put that s#!t on everything!). My last order from them was Chicken & Shrimp in garlic sauce, could have used a little more shrimp & less chicken but I'm over it. Great portions to have at least two meals out of them. Green Garden is the newest Chinese takeout place in town. I've been getting my Chinese food here for a few months now, and they have yet to disappoint. The portions are the perfect size, I've gotten about 3 servings (dinner one night, and enough leftover for 2 lunches to bring to work) out of most orders. Not a bad deal at all. The dishes are the standard Chinese cuisine, and the prices are great for the amount and quality of food. Service is always friendly and QUICK. They do have a nice dine-in area, as well...clean and well lit. Wing Sing (in the next strip over) was my go-to Chinese takeout spot for a few years, but I think I'll stick to Green Garden from now on. read more

I've lived in Fishkill for over a year. I'm from Southern Westchester where its not hard to find a good Chinese restaurant(take out). That's not the case for Dutchess County. This place is easily the best Chinese food restaurant in the area. I'm usually a little biased when comparing foods like pizza and Chinese food to my hometown but this little Fishkill spot was surprisingly excellent and a place my wife and I order from when Chinese food is in mind.
