No frills, casual pasta spot in the heart of Amherst. Looks small but has multi floor seating and quick service. I strayed away from my tried and true fettuccini Alfredo and had a shrimp spaghetti this most recent din which was just ok. My partner liked his pesto. Appreciate the make your own pasta dish option. The stand out for me has always been the Foccacia served pre meal which is top notch. The portions are enormous!

Sweet and spicy cream sauce with breaded chicken with penne!

Fabulous meal tonight at Pasta! Tried the sweet and spicy cream sauce with breaded chicken! It was amazing! Husband had his usual of Lasagna. It's a drive to come from Sturbridge but we so love this place! Worth it!! Oh, and forgot to mention their bread - freshly made to dip in oil! Bruschetta was good, but a little mushy tonight with the tomatoes. PS get the Tiramasu!

Waiters were very attentive and kind, the food was so yummy and it was the perfect blend of busyness and quiet ambience. I come here often to eat with my boyfriend, and it's always a great time!

I had heard good things about this place, but it actually exceeded my expectations. The pacing and service was great, and I think my favorite part was actually the free bread and oil(never had better oil at a restaurant). For apps we got bruschetta and toasted ravioli, both of which were amazing. I didn't have time to take a picture before everyone at the table was digging in. I ordered the gemelli pasta with vodka tomato cream sauce and it was perfect. Only small complaint would be I wish they gave you more napkins since the appetizers got our hands pretty oily. Nonetheless we all loved our food and would definitely go back with the reasonable prices of pasta e basta!

The atmosphere was lively, the decor was on the heavier darker side, which I actually prefer. Things went downhill from there though. It took over 10 minutes for someone to come by the table, and another 15 to get our menus and finally place an order. It seemed as though there were several staff on the floor, but only one was actually waiting on tables. Our server started out seemingly a bit perturbed with us, but they eased up as the evening progressed. I had a decent glass of red, and we also ardered some non-alcoholic beverages which were festive looking and tasted nice. We ordered the foccaccia appetizer. It came out just shy of burned. It was dry, bland and flat tasting, but heavily salted. I had high hopes for the the Spezzatino di Manzo, a beef stew. It may have been rich in taste at some point, but all I got from it was salt. The beef was edible but not as tender as it should have been, and what few vegetables and potatoes survived were mush or nearly pulverized. There were also quite a bit of chewy gristle. The Roasted Mushroom Risotto was unexpectedly watery and flavorless, almost soupy. The Alla Vodka Fettuccini was cooked properly, and wasn't bad, but was tomato heavy for an alla vodka. The chicken in this dish however was overcooked and dry. For dessert, we got the lemon sorbet which was perfectly fine, but it's really hard to mess up sorbet. I don't know how this place has as many stars as it does. Our experience was an expensive disappointment.

The restaurant resides in an older, well kept building in the small downtown area of the rural Town of South Deerfield. The interior of the restaurant is small, but welcoming, with an L-shaped bar for approximately (12) persons which accommodates food service, and table seating for approximately 50-60. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday, and by 6pm it was full; reservations are highly recommended. With regards to the food, everything was absolutely amazing! We started with the Fried Calamari (appetizer), which is my 'go to' as I both love it, and feel it is a perfect test of a kitchen's abilities, as it is a simple appetizer, but can be easily cooked poorly; this calamari was perfectly cooked (not chewy), and both lightly battered and flavored for a momentus start to our food experience. We also started with the Roasted Mushrooms (appetizer), and while I did not sample, the other members of my party thoroughly enjoyed. For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue (house specialty), which incorporated prosciutto and a unique creamy parmigiano sage rose sauce. The execution of the chicken preparation along with the sauce showcased the talent in the kitchen, reminding me that Gianni Figs is a chef owned restaurant. The other members of the table enjoyed Pasta Carbonara (traditional pasta), Grill to Table Scallops and Chicken Cacciatori (ribeye, chicken, & veal), all which I was informed were amazing! One minor critique as I pretend to be a legitimate food reviewer, is a consideration for the interior ambiance of the right side of the restaurant. If the right side were to more closely resemble the left side, with the addition of some wood, decor and softer lighting, it would create a warmer atmosphere for patrons. Additionally, a door or some type of partition to the kitchen entrance would also elevate the setting for those sitting adjacent to. Lastly, while I understand things will never go back to pre-2020, and the world is an altered place, with altered standards, I will note that multiple tables included patrons wearing ball caps and hooded/printed weatshirts while eating. Considering Gianni Figs food to be higher-dining quality, the dress code did not align and affects the ambiance. Food Rating: 4.5/5 Ambiance Rating: 3.75/5 Overall Rating: 4.125/5

The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of an architecturally pleasing brick building, with the interior ambiance (decor & lighting) fitting of the food style, setting a comforting mood along with the classic 50's/60's Italian American music. All around the food was both tasteful and comforting, similar to what I remember my Nonni would make. Mulino's is a great estaurant to visit with your spouse or friends for a nice 'family' dinner without being overly fancy/stuffy.
