I ordered 3 takeout meals yesterday and the spaghetti sauce tasted weird /off and we didn't even eat it- we just tossed it. The chicken was a bit chewy also in the Francaise. Ok. Start by checking out the restroom - and if you can 'stomach' the condition of the room - continue to ordering. We always joke about Chicopee restaurants that aren't really good but everyone says: 'they give you so much.' A whole lot of nothing good is not better than a smaller portion of not good. I had chicken parmesan - not very good - sauce was burnt tasting and I'm pretty sure the chicken patties were deep fried. (And just a side note - my fries were way hotter than my chicken.) Matt had the lasagna. Meat appeared to be smashed meatballs - and too much of it. And ricotta was definitely missing. Finally - my office is enduring a problem with fruit flies this summer. I can live with that. But when I'm paying decent money for dinner- I'd prefer a lot less flies than what we experienced. For us, this was a third visit over 2 + years. Pizza was cold when I got it and onion rings were soggy. I waited 15 minutes outside for the gentleman to come over to my car and I arrived 5 minutes later than the pick up time I was given. Don't get the fish and chips. I think the fish came out of the Connecticut River. Note: this review is only for delivery pizzas. This is where we get delivery pizza from when we want something a little "different." The crust (thin, crispy, wood fired style) and topping combinations are great. The Quattro Formaggi is a must for any cheese lover, but the Classic Margherita, The Green Monster, and Bobby C's are all great too. The only one I've tried that didn't wow me was the Buffalo Chicken- it was kind of goopy without much flavor. This is a picture of a $8.50 Caesar Salad. A bowl of mixed greens with ice burg added , a couple of shreds of not sure what kind of cheese, cold grizzly chicken and a side of Caesar dressing. I expect to see this at a fast food restaurant but not Amadeo's. Typically have pretty decent food . When I brought it to the attention of the waiter he seem to think it was just fine.. The waiter Elliott was pretty cool and was the only thing good about my dining experience that night. I was given a takeout container But it wasn't worth taking home. I have been eating there for a long time. We used to go there with the entire family for birthdays, anniversaries etc. The staff has always been friendly and courteous. The food is always good I have never had a complaint. Sadly I don't get to order from there like I used to. The pizza is pretty good and I really like the way they make their fried dough. Stopped by Amedeo's for a business lunch, and I had a great experience. I ordered the sausage pepper and onion grinder, and got a huge delicious sandwich that was perfectly toasted and loaded with the goods. My meal came with a side of very tasty fries as well. We went to Amedeo's for dinner on a Sunday night. The restaurant wasn't too busy, and service was fast. Our waitress was attentive and anticipated what we needed, which was nice. We ordered hot and sweet shrimp as an app, and the French onion soup. The shrimp were really good; cooked perfectly, and the sauce was hot and honey flavored. Plus, mild hot pepper rings were on the plate, and offered a nice contrast to the sweet sauce. The onion soup had lots of cheese on it, but tasted like it was beef broth from a can. I have to say that I only ate half at the restaurant, and it did taste better the next day when I ate the leftovers. We also ordered 2 personal sized pizzas. They would have been considered smalls in Amherst, they were that big. The crusts were handmade, crispy and perfectly cooked. My husband and son raved about them. I ordered the veal/eggplant parm which was very good. The angel hair pasta was cooked al dente, and had adequate sauce on it. The sauce was a bit too tart for my taste, but others might like it. It tasted really good in the parm though. The best part was the sangria that I ordered. It was loaded with lemons, limes, peaches, pineapple and marachino cherries. My husband commented that it was a drink *and* dessert. I wouldn't order that though if I were driving, since the serving was so large. Was staying in Holyoke with a craving for some good Italian food. What I received was excellent Chicken Carbonara. Grilled Chicken on top of meat tortallini in a bacon and Italian ham cream sauce! Amedeo's is one of my favorite Italian restaurants ever. The first time I went there, I was VERY put off by the decor (very shabby), but the food changed my mind completely. The portions are huge so you always have leftovers. My favorite thing on the menu is the eggplant parmesan (best I've ever tried); my partner likes the Josie's surprise. Oh, and the bread they give you with the meal is fabulous. Service can be a little iffy (some GREAT servers, and some not so great ones), but the food is too good to miss! They have the best pizza in the area. The dinner specials are amazing, you get get soup and salad with them. Unlike a corporate restaurant they don't up charge you for a salad or a soup it comes with your dinner. And again, the pizza is outstanding. It's worth going there, the food and pizza are unbelievable...
