I ordered the Popeye Pizza and my son got the old school pizza Your classic cheese, everyone was telling me that that everything was delicious on it between the sauces and cheeses that were used and perfectly cooked My son got the old school pizza which other people tried and everybody agreed that it was one of the best pizzas around that one had meatballs and cheese double layered I ended up ordering the Popeyes but added sausage but that came with ricotta and spinach and I had that on a cauliflower crust which was just absolutely delicious read more

Went when it first opened, it was great. went a second time tried to order on the phone and was told that they don't take orders on the phone for slices to just come in. When I got there, was told that they were closing that I could get slices and cook them myself...finally time I went, met by rudeness and I couldn't get an answer about how many pieces there were in a pizza... what????????????? and the price was ridiculous. I don't understand what they are doing at all. Will not revisit again. I should cook my own pizza and have no clue how many pieces are in a pizza so I can't figure out what to buy. read more

My wife and I were looking for a place to get a good pizza because all of the pizza we have tried in our town is 'meh'. I checked in Yelp and saw that Fat Tomatoes had a good rating. We got the Big Rago pizza which has meatballs and sausage and it was excellent! The crust is thin and crisp, not greasy at all! My wife is big on sauce because it is often bland. Not here! Very flavorful sauce! The restaurant was nice and clean which I appreciate with lots of Italian imports for sale. I was quite happy with the service. The owner told me that all of his deli meats are imported from Italy and that he even imports his flour from Italy! You need to try Fat Tomatoes! This is our new go-to for pizza. This is a great neighborhood pizza joint with NY style pizza. Unlike everywhere else in Holyoke. High end ingredients. Sit at a small table or take out. I almost cried when I saw how beautiful the Wise Guy pizza looked and tasted. Also there are premade entrees that you can grab to take home. And one generous house salad that can easily feed 4. Ok so we ordered 3 pizzas from this place when they opened on Saturday. The owner said I haven't even turned my oven on yet, 1st warning bell. The wise guy pizza: This one was the best of the bunch. The toppings were good quality, but the sauce was too sparse and the crust was undercooked (pale bottom), and the outside edges had raw pieces of dough. Buffalino pizza: This pizza was way way underdressed! Way too little buffalo sauce, too little blue sauce, the chicken looked like frozen buffalo chicken tenders (98% sure these were a premade frozen variety) and the crust was also underdone, chewy, and tough. The roni pizza: This did have the cupped pepperoni mixed in with normal pepperoni, but the same complaints as above apply. Too little sauce, crust under done. The good: Thank you for cutting the pizzas in a pie shape, unless its a party size I don't understand the obsession of NE with square shaped slices. Alot of the ingredients were quality: cupped pepperoni, mushrooms, roasted pepper, fennel sausage. If you want to work on your jawline this could be the place for you. The bad: That under baked crust was unforgivable which honestly may be why I felt everything else (sauce, cheese, toppings) were on the sparse side. It was also strange that the buffalo chicken toppings was so bottom shelf as compared to the other ingredients used. Bottom line: Reading other peoples reviews my underdone crust seems to be an outlier but worth mentioning as it could happen to you, and hopefully the owner takes this constructive criticism to heart. I have a hard time giving a place another chance if they screw up this bad on something as essential as the dough of their pizza. Plenty of other places around that I haven't had this experience with. Maybe the owner felt rushed when I called and his oven wasn't on yet, even though I called within the normal business hours. I would have been fine waiting an hour for them to be ready vice arriving at 40 min as instructed...hell make we wait an extra 20 if it isn't adequately cooked. I definitely didn't seem rushed or make any comments that should have made him feel hurried. If you like to gamble this could be the place for you as plenty of other people rave about this place. read more

I like another reviewer also drive through south Hadley and Holyoke to get this fabulous pizza. Yeah it's a bit out of my way, yeah it's a bit more expensive. It's totally worth it. I would compare it to New Haven/New York city style pizza. Great thin chewy crust seasoned with hand crushed tomatoes (not sauce) and an assortment of quality well thought out toppings. This isn't your corner store pizza place that throws on greasy pepperoni and $1.49 a pound mozzarella. No way. These toppings are quality. Hand made meatballs, spiral sliced ham, house ground chuck, caramelized onions, you get the picture. When I want a great steak I go to a "steakhouse ". When I want great pizza I drive a bit further and pay a bit more for Fat Tomatoes. Try it. Taste the quality and the crust that's to die for. read more

This cute little café is a gem! Yum-yum-yummy pizzas. The chef has Italian cooking skills, and a sense of humor, too (see the names of some of the pizzas.) They also sell homemade meatballs, pasta, salads, and desserts like tiramisu (the best I ever tasted). I wish we lived closer! read more

A buddy and i drive from northampton area for a take out pie at least semi regularly...the crust is very diff from any place i know of, kinda/sorta like a baguette. Heard great things about this restaurant and couldn't wait to try one of their pies as our go to spot has changed owners and the menu has taken a turn for the worse. The place is small with about five tables or so and a couple of stand up for your cold drinks. It's in the middle of the plaza at the intersection and is easy in and easy out with plenty of parking. The inside could use some updating as it's a little dingy, they have some salads ready to go in the reefers along with lasagna and chicken parm but my wife wanted to try a sausage pizza so that's what we got. I think there it too much sauce on the pizza and not enough sausage the whole thing was soupy actually. They ground some fresh cheese on top but I couldn't taste it. The entire pie was rather bland and lacking any kind of flavor. I'm wondering if the specialty pizzas are any better as they sound really interesting. We both had a piece of the pie and actually through the rest of it in the trash and it stinks because it was on the pricey side. read more

My review is for both quality and service. As for quality, I liked the pizza the first time I tried it and tried a few different ones to see how they all were, probably four in all. The best I can say is they're okay. Sort of 'whatever floats your boat.' I was not a fan of the homemade meatballs at all. I found one of the staff extremely rude and customer clueless. I always check dates on items before purchasing and was trying to find a bag of chips that was fresh, which required me to look at several bags. As they were near the floor, I had to pick them up to see the date, and they were all a month past the fresh date. During COVID, I cringe at having to use touch screens that have obviously not been cleaned and stated as much when I used my charge card. It was just a comment about the risk of acquiring a deadly disease during a global pandemic, no biggie. The guy at the counter said, "It's no worse than what you were doing." I didn't understand what he was talking about and he clarified that my touching the chips bags was as unhygienic as a touch screen. Now that's treating a customer right! Wrong! Couple suggestions: 1) You could put the chips at eye level. 2) You could actually check the dates yourself and throw away stale chips instead of leaving them there for unsuspecting customers. I had arrived within the time stated the pizza would be ready the night of this chips incident (the last time I would go there); so, after paying stood waiting for the pizza, which the same guy didn't bother to tell me was not yet ready. After he insulted me, I asked if he was suggesting I shouldn't check the date on the chips. Instead of talking with me, he f-----g shooed me away, literally gesturing with his hand for me to move aside. I didn't realize a customer had come in behind me. I had to ask, "So my pizza is not ready?" I could have told him what I thought of his antics in front of the other customer. Instead, after the other customer left and I had my last pizza in hand, I said to the very rude guy, "I don't have to come back, you know." And I haven't. And I won't. Service is everything and it's not like the pizza is so good you'd put up with a jerk just to have one. read more

I called to complain since my husband ate some of the grinder and I don't know if what he ate had raw chicken in it. I have ordered pizza from Fat Tomatoes at least a half dozen times in the last few months and every time it has been absolutely delicious. It truly is pizza done with an artistic flair. It's creative, always fresh ingredients, each topping cooked just right (which isn't easy!) They are generous in their portions. I've had several of the meat lovers pizzas as well as the vegetarian (Ma's Garden) and they have all been great. In particular, we couldn't believe the amount of excellent fresh veggies on the Ma's Garden. The ingredients are always paired so creatively and tastefully. Best Pizza we've had. And if you'd like to try a low carb cauliflower crust pizza theirs is excellent. And BTW- one time we had a slight mix up on the order from their online ordering service. The owner was so nice and gave us credit for another free pizza-- in addition to the one that we had received (which was excellent anyway). This place is worth the trip! read more
