We ordered from the Greek specialties and were not disappointed. Food was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and prompt, and the old-school vibe was fun. Recommended! read more

Onion soup no flavor like past. Ordered fresh whitefish. Mine had no flavor brought home to add spices. Husband cajun white fish good. Mozzarella sticks good no issue. Back potato I thought sour cream and it was ranch. Eye opened very quick. Have not been there a a few years. I guess her name on my receipt was Heather. Never gave her name. Well what can I say. We got take out and the food was excellent and large portions. The calzone was huge And delicious . The pita and gyro meat is excellent.

This is well above 2.8. Massive amounts of good pizza and calzones. My only complaint is the lighting above the booths is too bright read more

Parthenon Restaurant - Steak and cheese grinder - Pizza Near Me - South Hadley, Massachusetts

I recently visited for dinner. They were kind enough to accommodate my family and me about 30 minutes before closing. The restaurant is well-decorated and has a selection of wines on display. The waitress was very warm and cheerful and gave excellent food recommendations. I got the chowder and Greek salad--the chowder was delicious, but the salad was unusually bitter. Overall great service and ambiance. I highly recommend the chowder! read more

Great food and wonderfully friendly staff. The portions are huge so you will be able to take some home. Go for it. You won't regret it!

Great honey bbq wings! Yes they are so so good that is all thank you very much.....................

This was our first time and we both loved it. Our server was SO personable and helpful. We even got to try one soup before deciding which one to order! (We chose the other one :) The food was terrific. I hope to have an excuse to go back! (A little funny to have a Greek name Parthenon but advertise as an Italian restaurant :). They had both Greek and Italian dishes! read more

The service is good, the French onion soup is one of my favorites and the menu has good variety! It's usually a very chill atmosphere and we make it a point to go a few times a month! read more

Came here for lunch. Gyro pita is pretty big compared to amount of food inside of it. Maybe better if they used less pita bread to match the amount of food in it. read more

You never get a second chance at a first impression! 4/30/2019 First time ordering take-out. The good: oldest son thought the BLT grinder ok. Not much to say about a BLT. Middle son really liked his BBQ chicken wrap with fries. Wrap was big and plenty of fries were included. The woman at the pick up counter was friendly and helpful. The bad: Youngest son had the chicken tender platter. Plenty of fries but the chicken tenders were of the cheap, flat frozen kind that you would get from the store. My wife's steak and cheese was "ehhh". Although she ordered it with extra cheese, there was so little steak on the grinder all she could taste was bread and cheese. I ordered the meatball grinder. Meatballs and sauce were flavorful with plenty of cheese. Unfortunately, they completely burnt a 3rd of my grinder rendering a good portion of it inedible. read more

First time. Ordered to-go. Portions were a good size. A little on the pricey side... $30 for a calzone and a grinder.

The Parthenon ya family owned restaurant they have two. You have to order the cheese sticks they are as big as an Italian sausage and crispy on the outside. You want to eat more than one but then you can't eat dinner. I ordered the Greek appetizer because I can never choose one thing. When we lived in south Hadley we used to go every month. So when we visited family we had to go back. It hasn't changed and everything on the menu is delicious. The secret is the marinara sauce. The best. Freshly baked bread. The pizza is flavorful and hearty. Order a small. Large is LARGE!!! The Greek appetizer has pita spanekopeta. The phylo dough is buttery and crispy with lots of spinach and feta cheese filling. The grape leaves are full of rice and tangy flavor. Gyro meat is gently spiced and delicious. True Greek cooking here. Humus and olives are Included is a wonderfully flavored tzatske sauce. The hamburger was large and juicy with a hamburger bun. Not your typical fast food thin burgers. Support local restaurants and your community. read more

We ordered a calzone. My wife found pieces of what looked like the paper which was under the calzone on the serving tray in it. The server showed it to the cook. He said it was onion skin. He offered us a free Greek desert which was horrible. The wait staff was excellent. The restaurant was outdated. The parking lot was also terrible and dangerous. We will never go back there. read more

Used to be really good Alfredo. This was just under $20. This is usually what it would look like as left overs the next day after the Alfredo separates. Really shouldn't be like this fresh. Disappointed. read more

Parthenon Restaurant - Chicken and broccoli Alfredo - Pizza Near Me - South Hadley, Massachusetts

Undercooked. Sweet sauce. Skimped on cheese. I've had better pizza at a elementary school cafeteria.

This place is great. Has been a staple of South Hadley for decades. Happy to see they are still at it! I love coming in!

I get the reviews now. Gave this place a shot because we wanted a quick lunch while we were out and it has such a classic Greek diner look. There's nothing wrong with the look, quality or service but nothing exciting either. Decor is dated but serviceable. I had the gyro, wife had a turkey grinder. She was given the choice of hot or cold. Chose cold, came hot. Utterly unimpressive, big piece of bread with a bare couple slices of turkey and a mountain of lettuce. The gyro was fine (but how hard is it to get reheated frozen gyro meat right?) All and all completely average, until the bill came. Almost $30 for the two sandwiches. The coffee alone was about $3 for one cup. Won't be back. read more

Something goes wrong literally every time we come here. Today was the last straw unfortunately. We ordered an additional side of fries that never made it into our takeout bag. Last time we ordered out they forgot to put in the order or gave our order away to someone else, so I had to wait an additional 20 minutes at the restaurant for takeout, and then their card reader was on the fritz when it was finally ready. I had to leave without food... After waiting an hour for their mediocre subs. Their service isn't good either. Every single time we call or go in there it seems like we're a huge inconvenience. Well, it finally worked, Parthenon, we'll stay out of your hair! One bad experience isn't a big deal. 5 in a row is just not acceptable. And they never ever have any solutions for their mistakes. read more

went in for dinner today I ordered baked fish with cracker crumb toping. what came to the table was a baking dish with 4-5 pieces of white fish all different sizes some skin side up others too side up the fish pieces were different colors not all white and some of the bottoms very dark almost black, no cracker crumbs. when the waitress came back I asked for the check, she asked if I wanted to take it to go, I told her to take a look at it and said no thanks just bring the check. she brought it back to the cook who started screaming that the fish comes in a large filet and they have to cut it . I can understand but this did not all come from the same filet some was definetly very old. They took 50 percent off the bill...well I did eat the salad. I won't be going back read more

Food is delicious and the service is friendly. They have daily specials, a full bar and delicious rolls. Not a fancy place but the food never disappoints. Greece and Italian options.? read more

We eat here quite often and never got a bad meal yet! My husband likes their pizza; I prefer the thin crust style, whereas this is Greek style. Their spanakopita is very good and comes with a nice salad. We also go for their "Magarita Mondays" where you get a magarita and a baked pasta dish for (I think) $10.99-may have gone up a bit.Waitress are always friendly. The interior could use a spruce up that's why the 4 stars. read more

I have returned to eat here about three times since my last review. Owners must have took my advice, new carpet, new look. Food has been consistently good as well as the service. Great specials for lunch, 5$ cant beat it. Fish and chips is real good and nice dinner specials that change every day. I will be back to enjoy this place. read more

Horrible place. Went with my family in the middle of the day. Only one other table there. Our waitress messed up our drink orders, and didn't know anything about the menu. While we were waiting for our drinks fixed (20 minutes for soda!), another group came in, ordered from a different waitress, and got their food before us. Our waitress then got one of our meals completely wrong, so we had to wait another 40 minutes to have our meals made again. She was standing in the corner in plain sight taking selfless and texting even when we called her over, and when we complained about the wait, she started yelling at us and then went back to texting. Someone was vacuuming right next to our table too (which was sticky by the way). As soon as we got our food, I saw a hair right on top of my pasta. We were so sick of waiting that we didn't bother asking for a new meal. We called later to complain to the manager, and whoever answered the phone told us to "fuck off" and hung up. We called the next day and the manager even told us that they knew immediately what waitress we were talking about and that she was useless. But a month later I saw her in the parking lot. They gave us a coupon for a free pizza, but it was disgusting, and again, there was hair on it! Never going there again! read more

Despite being in and out of South Hadley for the past 17 years, last night was my first meal from the Parthenon. I've always been a little weary of the cheesy decor and strip mall location, but I figure that any restaurant that has been in business that long must have it's redeeming qualities, right? I was not disappointed. My partner and I ordered a Greek pizza and Gyro with fries for carry out. Both were delicious! The onions were a little undercooked on the pizza, but otherwise the sauce, crust and other toppings were delicious. The fries were crunchy and well battered, and the Gyro was very authentic. I'd give 5 stars if they delivered, but overall a satisfying meal. I will be back! read more

Sorry to do this but after tonight's experience.... I have to. Parthenon your slippin!! Husband and I frequent this restaurant regularly and typically have no problems and enjoy the food. Lately, service has been lacking and orders have been wrong or just okay. Tonight was the trifecta. It took several attempts to get through and when I did they put me on hold for a good ten minutes. Then when I placed my order was encouraged to change my requested grilled chicken sandwich for a "$5 chicken grinder special"... and so... I did. When my husband picked it up they explained how the chicken grinder special was no longer available so they just gave the "original order." When he got home with a chicken wrap, minus the side of fries we ordered, I couldn't believe this was the same restaurant we liked so much. Wrap was literally swimming in some type of brown liquid and was already soggy! Not edible and I refused to try. I'm terribly disappointed and disgusted... this is unacceptable service. How do you offer an item that is not available? Also, how can they substitute an order with whatever else they have? Oh well, when I called to ask this they said "we didn't have a number to call you back at". Yikes. Not sure if they have had staff turnover or what the issue is but try harder Parthenon... or your small business may not survive the pandemic. Your losing your regulars. A few months later........... Shaking my head at our attempt at redemption here. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! Ham and cheese grinder with no cheese? Forgetting the soup with an entree?! Thats a rap Parthenon. Nice knowing ya! read more

Everything i have tried has been excellent.staff was nice and pleasant I would recommend going there to all my friends and family

This place is listed as a family establishment, so we showed up with 5 families after a kids soccer game. Right from the beginning we got attitude from the hostess. The hostess had a short fuse and was rude. The kids got pizza and it was terrible. The crust tasted like a frozen Ellios pizza and the sauce tasted like chef-boy-r-dee. I got a grinder with fries and both were very good though the wait for it was over an hour. It is too bad because the place has potential. , but I wouldn't recommend this place if you want good pizza or a nice hostess. If you want the opposite of that, this is your place. read more

The food is great and very ample portions but watch your bill if there is a mistake the staff doesn't want to correct it. Out of the last 6 times eating the 4 of them the bill was rung. I will not be going there to eat again except to get take out read more

Surprised at the negative reviews, the service is good and for this type of restaurant, the food is quite good as well. Eggplant parmesan is very good, greek salads were good, and the chicken souvlaki also very tasty. The ambiance is definitely kitschy, but it's part of the experience. read more

I prefer to order out from this place. I have three dishes that I truly recommend. First any of the calzones especially because you can have them made up with your choice of fillings. Whatever you are in the mood for and they all come out good. From the appetizers I recommend the mozzarella sticks. These are a comfort food for me. I often crave them when I feel down in the dumps (women have ice cream I have these and just as fattening if not more lol). Finally I recommend the Tazekkie (sorry cant spell it) sauce and pita breads. Sorry I do not recommend the pizzas or the burgers. They greek gyros are okay (sorry again from New York originally and miss them from their). read more

We've gotten take out from here a bunch, mostly because it is the physically closest restaurant to our house that is takeout friendly. The food is just okay, there are a few things we like and some that we don't. Nothing to write home about and frankly it's a little expensive for the quality. But the service will stop us from ordering anymore. This time they forgot to give us food, last time they took more than twice as long as they said, they've waited until we got there to inform us their credit isn't working, and so on. Just tired of it. There are better options. read more

I've been here a couple times with family. I'd describe it as an "I'm desperately hungry and don't give a f*** what I put in my mouth" type of restaurant. The menu is huge, so you know your food definitely can't be truly fresh-made (or at least, you suspect that). The food is okay, it's just not...actually good. I usually order a calzone, which could feed 3 - 4 people. read more

We used to go here often years ago, but the last couple of times were disappointing. For example, on this visit, most of the food was served barely warm. The music was loud and annoying and the room was very chilly. On the plus side, the food tastes very good and the portions are generous. The waitress was also very good. I think it will be a while before we go back. read more
