This place was incredible! My son found this on the way from New Haven to Hartford. Calamari, pesto chicken gnocchi, chicken Parmesan and their special Mac and cheese was all excellent! Great flavor! Huge portions! Fair prices. Wish we had one of these in Fresno.

My wife's birthday dinner was amazing!

We told them we had a concert to get to (up the street) so they sat us quickly. Recommended a few plates that were quicker to make and the food was amazing! Drinks were great also. This isn't Olive Garden. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the experience!

Wow wow wow. What an amazing experience at Salute. Stopped here before seeing a show at the theater nearby. Didn't think we would need reservations for a Tuesday evening. Walked in and it was packed! A whole section was closed off for a private event. The host asked us right away if we were seeing a show and sat us in the bar area. We were quickly attended to and orders taken. Good happy hour deals. We all got different drinks and each one was superb. Warm, fresh, crusty bread. The entrees came out so quickly and blazing hot. We couldn't believe the portion sizes. Pasta Al la vodka was great. Pesto chicken gnocchi was delicious. Sister in law has celiac and the staff was very accommodating to make sure she didn't get cross contamination. We were checked on frequently, staff was SO friendly. They quickly packed up our leftovers so we could make it to the show. They even gave us a little dessert for my husband who I said was going to get my leftovers! 10/10 service and food. Can't wait to come again.

A classic staple in Hartford. The owners used to own Hot Tomatoes back in the day IKYKY and have taken some of their recipes with them. Went on a recent evening after work and check out these happy hour deals! The calamari was crispy and the well seasoned. Of course I had to get the garlic bread and it was just as good as I remember it to be. Great place to go after work for all my Hartford peeps.

My girlfriend and my trip to Salute for our 2 year anniversary was stellar- from start to finish. I'll get all the basic stuff out of the way first. The food, fantastic. I got the pasta Ć  la vodka with chicken, and my girlfriend got the pesto gnocchi chicken dish. Everything came fast, warm, and fresh- cooked to perfection. We also got the cheese garlic bread as a starter, which was delicious and the perfect size as to not spoil your dinner. Finally, we split an order of the chocolate lava cake which was one of the tastiest desserts I'd ever had. Now, onto the even more impressive details. First things first, calling in, and then changing the time for our reservation was very easy, and the man who picked up the phone seemed very excited to have us coming in to the restaurant. Upon arrival, it was clear the host (Jimmy) was the same person on the phone, as he remembered my name and was immediately incredibly hospitable and friendly. Jimmy asked me and my girlfriend how long we'd been together, and we told him "2 years today!" This at first seemed like typical small talk on the way to the table (which I should mention was arguably the best seat in the house, a table right by the front window in a nice quiet area of the restaurant), but I was quite impressed when the first thing our server, Vincent, said to us a few minutes later was "Happy anniversary." Vincent was very helpful and made sure to circle by our table frequently enough to make sure we had everything we needed, but not to the point where it was unnecessary- perfect!! As you can see in the attached image, our lava cake came with a nice happy anniversary message, and I'd like to remind you that this was all just from us mentioning it to Jimmy, once on our way in. We were treated to some goodies to take home separate from what we ordered, as well as a nice half off discount on the parking lot up the street. And it was to my great surprise and graciousness that when I peeked at the bill, our dessert was missing- based on the service we received, I would be surprised if this was a mistake. In summary, our trip to Salute was nothing short of a 5 star review. Excellent food, clean bathrooms, calm and friendly atmosphere, and I do not understate this when I say that the service was IMPECCABLE. Thank you very much to Jimmy, Vincent, and Salute as a whole for a wonderful evening- we will be back.

A smiling Jimmy greets every patron! I believe he is owner, and that extra gesture is really appreciated. We are also provided with a bag of homemade biscotti when we left. Those touches separate a good restaurant from a great one! The shrimp pasta had spicy sausage and just enough heat. The highlight of the food was the cheesy garlic bread. Do not pass that up! When in downtown Hartford this should be a go to spot before theater. They take note you have a show and make sure to get you out on time.

Incase you missed the memo this is where you can find amazing hot tomato garlic bread and tortellini rose..., nuff said. Oh and btw - if you attend post show like Hartford stage - show discounts applied. AND you will most likely see cast post show , coool stuff and ask for Betsy. She makes the absolute best Cosmopolitan this side of Manhatten.

Food-10/10 Service- 9/10 Ambiance- 9/10 I would DEF return if I'm in the Hartford area. This establishment made my short trip a wonderful experience. The espresso martini was the perfect way to end a tasty meal. The menu was the definition of short and sweet. The food was tasty ! Try the sun dried tomato butter OMG I haven't had anything like it!!! My only advice is don't sit in an area where you aren't seen. :-) Would def recommend. 2 thumbs up

Erica was our server and she was so fantastic with her recommendations and extra lemons and cherries for our kiddos. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was so nice and welcoming.

Salute I came to Salute with work colleagues and we were very happy with our choice! This place has a nice atmosphere, and the wait staff and owners take a lot of pride in their service, which makes for a great dining experience. They had plenty of great Italian menu options as well as salads. Their garlic cheese bread is a great item to start off the meal. The food was outstanding and our party all enjoyed their meals. I had the chicken parmesan, which was a great size and perfectly prepared. They also have a nice wine and cocktail list. I had the basil bourbon smash, which was good although it could have used some larger ice cubes. My only recommendation is to make reservations in advance if there is a UConn game in town! We were lucky they were able to fit us in before the rush. But it was a great experience!

When you go to an Italian a restaurant the wise move is to order what they are known for...That being said I should have ordered pasta. I didn't of course. I chose the short rib with sour cream mashed potatoes. I swapped out the peas and carrots for sautƩed spinach. It was a safe choice. The short rib was very tender. It didn't really stand out with flavor but it filled me up. The mashed potatoes were very creamy, no flavor but mixed in with the gravy from the short rib helped. The spinach had no flavor although it was supposedly cooked with garlic. I used salt and pepper and I asked for some white vinegar. That helped immensely. My friend ordered the pasta ala vodka which is her favorite. It did look mouth watering with a nice heap of Parmesan on top. The desert I had was the cookie crumb(?) gelato. I think that's what it was called. It was hands down amazing. I should have gotten two scoops and started and ended with that:) What I personally enjoyed the most there was the customer service. Michelle was our waitress and she was such a delight. She really went out of her way to make sure my friend enjoyed her birthday dinner. She was really a sweetheart and was accommodating when we had request. The bar tender or manager was wonderful also. As soon as I walked in the door I gave him the name the reservation was made under and he remembered talking on the phone with me. I had a drink I really wanted and I showed the recipe to him because he was behind the bar at the time. He didn't have one of the main ingredients but that didn't stop him from making it and substituting another ingredient to make it for me. The drink was delicious and he personally brought it to my table. Honestly everyone who from the bartender, waitress, and the staff that brought our actual food to the table were absolutely wonderful. I would absolutely go back there again, but I think I will order pasta the next time.

"Rose darling come to me All I ask of you…read moreIs make my wildest dreams come true" (Steely Dan) You probably don't need a PHD in linguistics to surmise that the Italian words "La Rosa" translates into the English words "The Rose". And if your wildest dreams happen to revolve around Italian comfort foods and well stacked sandwiches, well, do I have a place to make those wildest dreams come true for you! La Rosa is your quintessential Italian deli with dozens of grinders, paninis, wraps, salads, soups and a daily hot bar of pasta and chicken entrees. We ordered a grilled Panino Melenzani ($12) with eggplant, tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil and olive oil. It was grilled right in front of our eyes, so it was as fresh as could be. It had plenty of tender sliced eggplant, yummy cheese and fresh tomatoes. I went with my usual, an Italian Combo (half size for $14) stacked a mile high with Ham, Turkey, Genoa, Mortadella, Capicola, and Provolone with lettuce, tomato, onions, and peppers on a fresh loaf of Italian bread. It was superb, and the portion size was so generous that it lasted me for three lunches. As we were paying, we spied some home-made cookies by the register and grabbed an oatmeal and a chocolate chip to take home. Everything ran $32 for a ton of wonderful Italian goodness. We didn't get a chance to check out the hot bar. It wasn't open today because LaRosa's Marketplace was closing early for personal reasons. But I promise you, the next time we visit we'll leave with one of their chicken or pasta entrees. We love our Italian delis, and LaRosa's has immediately shot up into our top tier.

We placed orders for 12 of us over the phone today, we went to pick up the goods around an hour later. I got their Italian Sandwich this time. Previously I've had several of the salads. I think collectively my office has had their entire menu. From sandwiches, to salads, to pizzas, to lasagna and more. Every single meal has always been super fresh, where all you can hear is "mmmmmMmmmms..." My lunch was served on a freshly baked Italian hoagie roll, filled with roasted peppers, ham, tomatoes, mixed greens, capicola and provolone cheese. In addition to each and every single ingredient being super fresh, this was also a very large portion. I could have easily shared the other half with someone else, had it on another day or ate it right after the first portion... which one did I do? The restaurant it's self is little and very cute, it was full at 12:00 o'clock today. If you're looking for a quick and fresh lunch or dinner around the Wethersfield area, Lenoci's will check each of your boxes.

Cozy, charming, the kind of place that practically begs you to believe great Italian food is coming. But looks don't season food. From the pasta fagioli to the eggplant parm sandwich, the common thread was impossible to ignore: bland. Not subtly restrained. Not "let the ingredients speak." Just flat. No depth, no punch, no reason to go back for another bite. Italian food should comfort you and excite you at the same time--this did neither. Credit where it's due: portions are generous, and the bread was fresh and nicely toasted, which honestly might have been the most flavorful thing on the table. But when bread becomes the highlight at an Italian spot, that's a problem. I wanted to love Lenoci's. The space sets you up for it. Unfortunately, the food doesn't deliver.

I chose chicken for my protein and sweet water mixed greens, red onions, pico da galore and garlic aioli. This wrap was delicious. The chicken was so flavorful and juicy and they don't skimp on your choice of protein. I devoured that wrap and I look forward to returning and enjoying many more items from their menu. (Straight Lines) Sweetwater Salad Bar made a bad experience "good" today when they pivoted and made a great customer service decision. They have a deep menu with all sorts of customizable Smoothies, three kinds of toasts, and Wraps. We went for lunch today and decided on a "to go" order of their Avocado Toast. We paid our $5.84 and waited for the order to be assembled. After a few minutes, a manager approached us to say they couldn't make the avocado toast because they had run out of bread. Now... since you can't really make an Avocado Toast, Peanut Butter Banana Toast, or Hummus Toast without toast, and you can't really make toast without bread, we understood why they couldn't give us the order we had already paid for. But they made things right by offering us something else, so we opted for a chicken quesadilla which we received for no additional charge. The quesadilla was good with a nice mix of chicken and cheese. IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES Obviously, inventory management comes to mind, and if they run out of bread, that information should be conveyed to the entire staff so everyone is on the same page about what is and is not available, what can and cannot be made, and what should and should not be paid for.
