I recently had my 1st of soon to be many visits to this welcomed addition to the city of Bothell. I tend to get a quick picture of a new Mexican restaurant by the flavor of their salsa. I was more than satisfied with their salsa which was just the start of the delicious meal to come. I had their Carne Asada which was cooked to perfection and then for desert I had their Flan and Don Julio 42 Tequila (excited they had the 42). The service was above average even though I was there by myself on a very busy Friday night. I will be returning quite often. read more

We love passion tequila. You have to sit in the bar though, not the best customer service in the restaurant. Drinks are stiff, waiters are friendly, food is fantastic. The chips are always hot and fresh and the salsa is spicy and delicious. My favorite dish is the seafood enchiladas. THEY ARE TO DIE FOR. Bomb margaritas too! This is purely based on the margaritas and the bartender. Didn't have the food but it did look delicious but we had just eaten. We are huge margarita fans so we can be particular, but for a tequila place, the margaritas sucked! They really didn't even have a wide selection of tequilas either. The bartender wasn't rude but not that friendly. Granted we are from out of town and was rooting (quietly) for the Niners against Green Bay, but all what seemed to be regulars were not friendly at all and that alone makes me not want to come back. I have no clue how this place can have such good reviews. My fiance and I just left there after what was one of the worst meals we've ever had. Margaritas were so strong they were undrinkable...I know, not a typical complaint but they were horrible. I ordered the enchilada suizas that had zero flavor other than over salted beef. Rice was hard and obviously old. My fiance ate most of his food only because he was starving. We are never people to complain so it made us uncomfortable to do so. They did take my enchiladas off our check but still made us pay for two margaritas that we barely drank. Basically paid $45 for a terrible experience. No apologies from staff, no simple offering of more lime juice for the margs, only poor attitude. Will never step foot back in this place that seems to treat customers only with disrespect. read more

Decent food for a fairly reasonable price, especially given that it's tucked away in Bothell of all places. The salsa is a pinch watery for me, but the pico was hard to stop eating. The rice and beans are unimpressive, but that's a fairly common cut corner. The crab enchilada is not stingy about crab meat. The spicy dishes are surprisingly full of flavor rather than just heat. For the area it's in and the type of restaurant it is, it's actually quite enjoyable. Be warned, however, that it is packed on weekends. You will have wait for a table, and some of them are rather small. read more

Three words, Alas De Puerco. After reading the reviews and trying all the Mexican restaurants around the Bothell area, my wife and I gave the Pasion a shot and found our new favorite in the area. We tend to like the Mexican spots where you can kick back, get a nice Cadillac margarita on the rock,s enjoy some great chips and pico de gallo. This place definitely fits the bill. My first time out I found the Alas de Puerco, which consists of three big pork shanks slow simmered in their juices, seasoned and quick fried into a fall off the bone, crisp, tender, juicy goodness that has me craving more. It comes with sautéed onions and a great tomatillo green salsa. My wife has found her favorite as well, the pollo a la crema. I can attest this is a good choice, as I often have the leftovers and it is as good an any I have tried. Not the healthiest choices so unfortunately we can't have them every day... I have tried several other dishes to see if I can find a different favorite, some of the memorable include: * Mocajete, delicious but the chorizo made it a little greasy for my liking * Aja Toro "Macha" style, I was feeling macho and the Macha set me straight. It had a great smokey peppery flavor and the heat had my tongue sweating. * Tacos Al Pastor - not like the pineapple and the carved meat on a skewer variety you get in mexico, but very good in its own right. I have also had a few of the burritos and other items, but I keep going back to the Alas de Puerco, which for the price is by far my favorite pork dish out there. Definitely recommended... read more

Very good meal. I had the chefs special and my wife had an excellent burrito. I was a little perplexed with the cabbage based dip for chips, but their salsa was adequate. The salsa could have been a little more spicy, thick and flavorful , the cabbage based dip had no flavor. Perhaps adding some extra lime and cilantro to the cabbage would make it work. They used the same cabbage in the burrito which worked very well for flavor and texture. I had a premium Patron based Margarita that was probably the most tasty and potent ever bought. Yum! OK, I've held off long enough on reviewing this place. I really didn't want anyone to know about it because the wait is already ridiculous. This is the best Mexican food in Seattle by FAR. Ever bite is a foodgasm in my mouth. I salivate just thinking about their carne asada, and their seafood chimichanga. And their beans. OMG their beans. So I generally don't like to complain but the restaurant was recommended to me and I was pretty happy to try it. So I ordered to pick up and they didn't have the entire order correct. I ordered nachos and 3 tacos and paid a good price $33.00 so I would think I would get what I paid for but didn't and that was really disappointing. Smells bad. Got an "Ok" rating from local health dept? No. That's not ok. The service was slow and often MIA. Food was bland and not fresh. Bathroom was gross. Actually, the whole restaurant was dirty. Flies were bothering all of us during our meal. Avoid this place. The high rating on here doesn't make sense at all. Yelp failed me on this one. MEXICAN MOCOJETE!! Ohhhhh, I LOVE their food! I just finished another fantastic meal from them!! If you are like me, you will go there thinking, 'yeah, yeah Mexican food is Mexican food, how much better than other places can it be?' I had heard from all my co-workers how great this place is and "great" was a complete understatement! Their food is IN CRED DI BLE! Even the refried beans are outstanding! I've been there 3 times and have the same thing every time, Mexcian Mocojete - it is OUT OF THIS WORLD! When I first went there I decided to try something new, the mocojete - I am sooo glad I did, I am hooked now! It is steak strips, chicken, and chorizo all cooked together with cheese and spices, the flavor is so rich and tasty, there is nothing like it. Go there, try the mocojete, you wont be disappointed! Just moved nearby and thought I'd try this place out. Ended up ordering a few of the appetizers to sample the place. Chicken taquitos were good but slightly underwhelming. Mexican pizza was tasty. Beef quesadillas were ok. The food was ok, nothing special but nothing bad either. The prices seemed relatively high though for the portion sizes. I've had better Mexican food for around 50-75% of the price. Overall, food is not bad but seems overpriced. I'm new to the area though so maybe I'm not used to the demographic. read more

Original review: After having driven by Pasion Tequila hundreds of times, we finally stopped by on the recommendation of a neighbor. Now, I grew up in Colorado, where Mexican food is very different than the Northwest, but I have to say that Pasion Tequila is probably the best I've had outside of Colorado. I ordered the Enchiladas Suiza, which featured tender chicken and a delicious sauce. Husband had Molcajete, which was delicious. The kids had burritos, which they wolfed down. My favorite, though, is the cabbage slaw they serve with the chips. Amazing! I noticed that the servers obviously knew a lot of the customers, and it is apparent that the restaurant has a lot of regulars. It's not a surprise given the good food and fast service. read more
