We ordered a few items from the Happy Hour menu, along with the Carnitas and the Baja Shrimp Tacos. We shared everything among 3 people, and portions were generous and filling. We visited over a weekend for breakfast. We were seated immediately. The place is located in Mill Creek's main street, so it is easy to find and has plenty of parking in the front and around the restaurant. The restaurant has a cozy vibe with patio seating during warmer days. We chose to sit inside as it was a bit chilly that day. We ordered the scrambled eggs with steak, eggs Benedict and shrimp tacos. All dishes were great and freshly made. The highlight was their salsa and chips they provide as complementary. The salsa is amazing! Not sure what it is made of - not spicy at the same time full of flavor. Will go back mainly for that salsa. Finally about the service, the people are very friendly and patient. Stopped by for happy hour and was pleased with their menu. They had a lot of options to choose from. We tried avocado corn dip, Caesar salad, salmon tacos and chicken tacos. Everything tasted okay/good but nothing stood out. I didn't care for their avocado corn dip (it was guacamole with some corn). To me it wasn't seasoned well and I expected something more cheesy or gravy style and it came out dry like a guac. I am interested in trying other things on their menu so I will be back. The service was really nice. Our server was very kind and kept checking in to make sure everything tasted ok. We were seated right away and didn't have to wait. We went on a Sunny Sunday afternoon and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. We went with our newborn and this restaurant has slings for an infant carrier which worked out fabulous for us! I hadn't seen that at a restaurant before. The servers and manager were all very kind and receptive to our needs. We asked for the best vegetarian options which were more available from the dinner menu. They were super tasty as well - better than I've had at other Mexican restaurants. The side pancakes were delicious along with the chips n salsa (not pictured). The eggs Benedict was also well received and I really liked the potatoes that came with it. I find many brunch places dont roast or have much flavor around here. On a sunny day, there is so much light and the vibe is very nice inside. Would recommend this place! read more

Super busy during dinner time! This place is a great local spot but that means that it is a popular one. During the dinner rush, it is not abnormal for a 30+ minute wait so definitely try to call in if possible. My friends and I luckily were able to attend a later dinner there and we were seated right away. We were almost able to make the daily 9 pm happy hour which offers some great deals if you are able to make it in during happy hour! Our server was very nice and super attentive! The restaurant was not super busy then so I cannot speak for a fuller and more hectic restaurant setting. Azul also provides free chips and salsa which was great and super flavorful! I ended up ordering the shrimp tacos which was $20 and came with two tacos and a good amount of sides. The shrimp was cooked well and overall had great flavors. I was pretty full by the end and was able to take home some food too. I would say it is not super authentic Mexican food and it isn't that cheap either but it is quite a solid spot! read more

I grew up going to Azul and have always adored it, but for some reason the food this time around just did not hit. A bit disappointed because I was showing it to some girl friends from out of town. I got the Carnitas and when it came out, it was already cold and dried up as if it had been sitting. It was also bland which typically isn't the case for the food here. I'm hoping it was just an off day though because I truly love this place. As always, the servers did a great job being attentive and kind. This is a relatively larger restaurant so there's a lot of staff on the floor. I also like coming here because of how lively the vibe is! Definitely eat outside on a sunny day to enjoy the bustle of Mill Creek Town Center. We come here regularly and this place has never disappointed us. The only negative is sometimes the wait is long but it's probably because the food is so good. You get chips and salsa served when you sit down which are clearly made in house. They're delicious and it's one of the best salsas I've had since moving to Seattle (I'm from LA so I know what good Mexican food is). My favorite is their carne asada which I usually make into surf and turf with coconut shrimp. I also sub Spanish rice for the mashed potatoes and they have no problem accommodating. The carne asada is so delicious and always perfectly tender. I highly recommend this. My husband alternates between fajitas and tacos and enjoys both. I've eaten here so many times and just love the salsa. My "go to" meal was always the carne asada with green beans. It used to be just spectacular. The last two times I've ordered this I've been really disappointed. The meat is so tough you can hardly cut it with the "steak knife" they give you. A few parts I was able to cut but the rest of it was so awful I couldn't even saw through it. And some of the pieces I was able to cut I couldn't chew because it was not edible. It's really disappointing because it's not an inexpensive dish. My husband got the coconut prawns, and that dish was very good. Azul has one of the best salsas. I probably ended up eating a whole bowl by myself because the chips and salsa were so good. They use onions and other things that create a unique flavor I haven't had at any other restaurants. There's lots of seating inside, but it gets filled up during peak times. I ordered the salmon tacos, which come with 2 tacos, rice, and beans. There was pico de gallo on top of the tacos and also a tiny bit on the side. I had to eat the insides with a fork first because everything was piled on top of the tortillas. The dish comes with 4 tortillas (2 for each taco), so I ended up making 4 tacos. The salmon tacos were chimichurri flavored. I didn't expect them to be spicy, but it was just the right amount of spiciness. Other people at my table also said their orders (enchiladas) were a bit spicy, so the food here definitely has a lot of flavor. The fries that come with the sandwiches are very thin and crispy, which are my favorite kind. Not sure if it was just that day, but they were very small pieces, too. read more

The food was great. Drinks were unique and delicious. Music was too loud for an early dinner to be able to talk to my friend across the table from me. They had a wait list when I arrived so I put our names down. The wait time was pretty true to what they said it would be (about 45 minutes for 530pm on a Saturday evening). We were seated at a nice table near the side of the restaurant and enjoyed their housemade salsa. I followed Alexa's advice and got the shrimp salad. It was amazing as expected! My friend also quite enjoyed her fajitas. Service was good and we loved everything about the place except for the volume of the music. This is one of my fave spots to meet friends for lunch in Mill Creek! It's usually busy, which is a good sign, but I have never had to wait long for a table. I am vegetarian and their beans have pork in them, so I usually just have to get rice as a side. I am also gluten free, but there are a few options for me here. Recently, I have been loving the avocado tomato salad with shrimp and zesty ranch. The portion of shrimp is very generous, I LOVE the zesty ranch (you have to ask to sub this out for the vinaigrette), and all the ingredients are fresh and wonderful. The chips and salsa are also great, just the right amount of salt on the chips and spice to the salsa to be relatively crowd pleasing. I have had consistently good service here. Quick, and they get everything right. No complaints there! I like the atmosphere- kind of dark and moody but plenty of natural light and blue accents. I feel like most people I know love this spot and I am very partial to that salad! read more

We stopped for lunch today at Azul. Everyone was very friendly and the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere. We were seated right away and given water followed by warm fresh chips and the most amazing salsa. We almost immediately asked about options for buying salsa to take home which they obviously were prepared for as they offer a variety of size options. After commiting to a 16oz tub to take home, we placed our order. We got the seafood enchiladas and the Papa burrito. It was a short wait before we were served and it was all very very delicious. Nice and hot, full of flavor. We didn't have to ask for a single thing, drinks, chips and salsa were refilled before we could even think to ask. House made lemonade was delicious as well. Why don't I come here more? I'm never disappointed. In fact, I'm impressed again! Service was the perfect amount of friendly, informative, efficient but not rushed. -Skinny scratch margarita- fresh and light! -they have an Old fashioned on the specialty drink menu and it's served with crème de cacao (chocolate). We are big Old Fashioned people and this drink with a twist of chocolate was fun! So glad we tried it!! -roasted veggie enchilada verde- 2 smaller portions enchiladas with rice,and beans . Perfection!! - hubs loved the pork chop and he never orders pork chops! I'm happy we landed a booth in the bar but I wish the seats were padded. They are quite uncomfortable. Azul greater than indigo. Just saying. They are both good but Azul gives free chips and salsa and the salsa is fantastic ( for those that don't know indigo is a sister place in Lynnwood). Was a little sad that they changed the carne asada and eggs on brunch but otherwise you really can't go wrong with anything you order. I am the first one that understands that restaurants have a bad night, and it's very rare that I'll post a one-star review especially on a restaurant that we've visited multiple times. But last night was a disaster, and to make matters worse it was my wife's birthday - - there were 4 of us anxiously looking forward to a nice celebration dinner. We were [fortunately] seated in our favorite booth past the bar where it's quieter than out in the main lobby, but that's where the experience ended. We waited 10 minutes before being acknowledged, and another 10 minutes before our drinks and chips/salsa arrived. My wife ordered a margarita with no salt, but it came loaded with salt. Another 10 minute wait for a replacement... Note: Azul was NOT busy We ordered appetizers before thinking about what we wanted for dinner. The cheese on the nachos wasn't melted at all...I'm not talking about cheese sprinkled on top; I'm talking about the cheese that you find throughout the nachos that you look forward to binding all the goodies together when you pull out a chip. But by this time we were hungry and decided that we could power through it. Another thing we noticed was the quantity of nachos/goodies in this order: it was only 75% of what a typical order would be...shrinkflation perhaps? Next came the chicken quesadilla - completely soggy from the pico that was ladled onto the plate. My wife tried sopping up the liquid with a napkin but there weren't enough napkins on our table. She sent it back by flagging down a passing waitress (who by the way was annoyed that we would even think of sending back a dish as simple as a chicken quesadilla.) Another 10 minute wait for the replacement, but it was only moderately better (the tortilla had already begun soaking up the liquid from the pico.) We quickly pulled all 4 pieces off the plate to keep the quesadilla from drowning. Here's a very simple solution: just ladle the pico into a small ramekin to keep the flour quesadilla tortilla from becoming waterlogged! After long waits during the appetizers, not being asked if we wanted another drink, poor attitudes, and substandard food quality, we decided to skip dinner and call it a night. Oh, and another 10 minute wait to track down our waiter for the bill. And by the way, we aren't the type of people looking to get something for nothing, but I mentioned to the waiter that we were celebrating my wife's birthday - - we didn't stay long enough to order a dessert... Come on, Azul - you're better than that. You've had my business for 3+ years now and I sincerely hope this doesn't start a trend... read more

Went for brunch-the food was great. I had the eggs benedict with bacon, avocado and a chipotle hollandaise. The potatoes were delicious with the seasoning. The restaurant had nice decor and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. It was pretty busy at lunchtime. The only down side was that the entire 3 hours I spent there catching up with a girlfriend, I was never offered another mimosa. In fact, our server only checked on us once, gave us boxes and the bill. In retrospect, the service could've been a lot better. I may go again for dinner. You get one set of salsa and chips as complementary for the table. Their happy hour menu had really good deals. I got the guacamole and chips and the blackened fish tacos. I found the fish tacos to be a little disappointing because they were under seasoned and lack in flavor, though everything was cooked well. However, Salsa made up for it so I just lathered the salsa on my tacos. I definitely want to go back to try other things on the menu. Definitely want to take advantage of their happy hour items. I came in for lunch yesterday and had a fabulous experience on the patio with a super sweet server so decided I'd bring my sons whole team back later that evening. I spoke to the staff after lunch informing them that I understood it would be difficult to bring in a large group later, but that we wouldn't be in until maybe 8pm. The host staff informed me that I could call an hour or so ahead of time to let them know we were coming. Fast forward to near end of game time and I tried calling multiple times and the phone line never went through! It sounded like it was off the hook. I tried to check the waitlist option on the websit, and surprise surprise that was also down. Great I left our game early to go into the restaurant and let them know that we were coming. The just staff said they couldn't help me and that everyone had to be there. I get it-but also as someone who works in the industry-how about a little faith and appreciate that I'm there early, trying to give you a heads up! They did seat us fairly quickly and our server-Owen was fantastic ! Owen handled the party well and admitted it was his first large party, thank you Owen!! Other service staff was helpful as well and the food was great. Our largest complaint aside from no help to split checks at all, was the manager on duty. Multiple parents complained she was not only unaccommodating, but down right rude! It was clear from the beginning that us trying to join them for dinner was a major nuisance and her attitude toward us was not okay. Happy hour is the best way to eat at Azul. This place gets super busy, so would recommend coming early or joining the virtual wait list. It is not uncommon to have a long wait. We got the chicken taqueria, tacos al pastor, and nachoes (hold the jalapeños). We also tried the happy hour margaritas. My favorite was the nachoes that come with a huge scoop of flavorful sour cream and guacamole. I also got to try the sangria which was quite sweet but flavorful and fruity. So good, ain't no shame in coming as a party of 1!!! Had some time to kill on a Saturday night and was in the area, so I made the stop in for my favorite Chop Chop Salad and the best salsa in the Greater Seattle area HANDS DOWN. Found a table in the busy bar, and was brought menus immediately. My server checked in right away offering chips and salsa, and took my order for the spicy skinny marg I already knew I wanted.
