    Carne Asada

What a fantastic day, pre-fathers day prep hanging with my daughter at Azuls. As usual the food was perfectly cooked and we were lucky to get a seat outside and able to enjoy the weather.

I had the Carne Asada. It was amazing. We have been going to Azul's for a while now. The salsa is amazing (IYKYK) (I also love the chops)

We went on a Sunny Sunday afternoon and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. We went with our newborn and this restaurant has slings for an infant carrier which worked out fabulous for us! I hadn't seen that at a restaurant before. The servers and manager were all very kind and receptive to our needs. We asked for the best vegetarian options which were more available from the dinner menu. They were super tasty as well - better than I've had at other Mexican restaurants. The side pancakes were delicious along with the chips n salsa (not pictured). The eggs Benedict was also well received and I really liked the potatoes that came with it. I find many brunch places dont roast or have much flavor around here. On a sunny day, there is so much light and the vibe is very nice inside. Would recommend this place!

Calamari, front and center. It was very good.

Food: 4.5 stars Service: 4.5 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Value: 5 stars (for Happy Hour) We dropped by for Happy Hour as one of our family loves Azul and its Happy Hour. We were not disappointed. The Happy Hour menu could be a little bigger, but it's not bad - especially if you like margaritas. The chicken quesadillas were a standout. Nachos were great, but their salsa that comes with their chips is truly amazing. Service was very good. We were taking some pics and one waitress was nice enough to offer to take a group shot for us. The ambiance is nice. Perhaps nothing special, but it's nice - slightly upscale Mexican. The Happy Hour provides very good pricing for this quality of food and drink. We will be back!

Super busy during dinner time! This place is a great local spot but that means that it is a popular one. During the dinner rush, it is not abnormal for a 30+ minute wait so definitely try to call in if possible. My friends and I luckily were able to attend a later dinner there and we were seated right away. We were almost able to make the daily 9 pm happy hour which offers some great deals if you are able to make it in during happy hour! Our server was very nice and super attentive! The restaurant was not super busy then so I cannot speak for a fuller and more hectic restaurant setting. Azul also provides free chips and salsa which was great and super flavorful! I ended up ordering the shrimp tacos which was $20 and came with two tacos and a good amount of sides. The shrimp was cooked well and overall had great flavors. I was pretty full by the end and was able to take home some food too. I would say it is not super authentic Mexican food and it isn't that cheap either but it is quite a solid spot!

Incredibly flavorful food made with care. Service was very nice and attentive. The vibe was a little bougie but nice! Cloth napkins but not too fancy. Prices are fair and affordable.

I grew up going to Azul and have always adored it, but for some reason the food this time around just did not hit. A bit disappointed because I was showing it to some girl friends from out of town. I got the Carnitas and when it came out, it was already cold and dried up as if it had been sitting. It was also bland which typically isn't the case for the food here. I'm hoping it was just an off day though because I truly love this place. As always, the servers did a great job being attentive and kind. This is a relatively larger restaurant so there's a lot of staff on the floor. I also like coming here because of how lively the vibe is! Definitely eat outside on a sunny day to enjoy the bustle of Mill Creek Town Center. Despite this one experience not being the greatest, I'll still be coming back to see if it can return to its original glory!

    Carne asada and coconut shrimp

We come here regularly and this place has never disappointed us. The only negative is sometimes the wait is long but it's probably because the food is so good. You get chips and salsa served when you sit down which are clearly made in house. They're delicious and it's one of the best salsas I've had since moving to Seattle (I'm from LA so I know what good Mexican food is). My favorite is their carne asada which I usually make into surf and turf with coconut shrimp. I also sub Spanish rice for the mashed potatoes and they have no problem accommodating. The carne asada is so delicious and always perfectly tender. I highly recommend this. My husband alternates between fajitas and tacos and enjoys both. I've also had fajitas a few time and they're always great.

Azul has one of the best salsas. I probably ended up eating a whole bowl by myself because the chips and salsa were so good. They use onions and other things that create a unique flavor I haven't had at any other restaurants. There's lots of seating inside, but it gets filled up during peak times. I ordered the salmon tacos, which come with 2 tacos, rice, and beans. There was pico de gallo on top of the tacos and also a tiny bit on the side. I had to eat the insides with a fork first because everything was piled on top of the tortillas. The dish comes with 4 tortillas (2 for each taco), so I ended up making 4 tacos. The salmon tacos were chimichurri flavored. I didn't expect them to be spicy, but it was just the right amount of spiciness. Other people at my table also said their orders (enchiladas) were a bit spicy, so the food here definitely has a lot of flavor. The fries that come with the sandwiches are very thin and crispy, which are my favorite kind. Not sure if it was just that day, but they were very small pieces, too.

The food was great. Drinks were unique and delicious. Music was too loud for an early dinner to be able to talk to my friend across the table from me. They had a wait list when I arrived so I put our names down. The wait time was pretty true to what they said it would be (about 45 minutes for 530pm on a Saturday evening). We were seated at a nice table near the side of the restaurant and enjoyed their housemade salsa. I followed Alexa's advice and got the shrimp salad. It was amazing as expected! My friend also quite enjoyed her fajitas. Service was good and we loved everything about the place except for the volume of the music. Perhaps we will come earlier in the day next time for a quieter experience!

We stopped for lunch today at Azul. Everyone was very friendly and the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere. We were seated right away and given water followed by warm fresh chips and the most amazing salsa. We almost immediately asked about options for buying salsa to take home which they obviously were prepared for as they offer a variety of size options. After commiting to a 16oz tub to take home, we placed our order. We got the seafood enchiladas and the Papa burrito. It was a short wait before we were served and it was all very very delicious. Nice and hot, full of flavor. We didn't have to ask for a single thing, drinks, chips and salsa were refilled before we could even think to ask. House made lemonade was delicious as well. My only wish was to have a little more variety. There seemed to be an abundance of salad options verea entrees. We will definitely be back!

Cute restaurant with great ambiance in Mill Creek that offers delicious vegan menu options!

Red sangria was balanced and refreshing. More, please!

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

We ordered promptly, but were told we would only have about 10 minutes to use the seating area before it closed. When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.

Walking in, the layout suggests they are also a party/mini-concert/event space. Service is casual; we were told to sit anywhere. I should have boogied my way to the table. We happily browsed through the menu looking at the many choices, some very unfamiliar. Everything looks so good, and prices are reasonable. We need to return and be more adventurous next time. Our server was helpful, guiding portion size and optional sides. The Food: Jerk Chicken plate, add steamed veggie, $20 + $2 - 5 Stars True to the jerk seasoning, theirs is spicy, as it should be. I find it annoying when jerk seasoning isn't spicy enough. The seasoning tastes even spicier when I drink water, and the heat spreads. So good! I was also happy they use boned chicken, which is more flavorful. I asked about veggies, that is $2 extra. Oxtails plate, add rice & peas, $24 + $1 - 5 Stars With beefy stock, these oxtail pieces are well-seasoned and paired well with root vegetables. A small salad and the rice & peas are a good match to the oxtail. I enjoy seeing oxtails used in different recipes. Jamaican patty, $5 - 5 Stars These beef meat pies are freshly baked and arrived at our table smoking hot. We were happy that we ordered two, so we wouldn't have to share. Haha. Very delicious. Plantains, $8 - 5 Stars From the appetizers portion of the menu, these are perfectly fried, caramelized, with minimal blackened carcinogens. This plate was a particularly good batch.
