Great spot for a scenic lunch & stroll around Silver Lake with our newborn. We stopped in on Wednesday at 2pm, seated right away. The hostess was super kind, offered a sling for our car seat and made extra space for us. HH menu felt smaller than I remember, but food was still good: calamari (huge + perfectly fried), green bean fries (highly recommend), and Manila clams (would skip next time). We arrived 30 minutes early for our 6:30 reservation on a Friday night, with the intention of enjoying a cocktail in the bar before dinner. Cocktails were good, Nick was our bartender and he seemed like he did not want to be there. They did seat us pretty quickly which was nice and we sat outside, with a great view of the lake. Our server Patrick was definitely having an off night, but we'll come back to him in a minute.. We started with bread which was very good! Then we had steamed clam which were also tasty but many of them had a noticeable amount of sand in them. My Partner had the Margarita pizza which she enjoyed. I enjoyed a med rare steak with prawns and mashed potatoes. For dessert we ate strawberry shortcake and the chocolate mousse, both of which were absolutely delicious. Ok back to the service.. or lack there of. Patrick never came back to ask how our food was. I had to ask for more water, my Partner never received a second glass. I ate everything in this fresh salad, it had eggs, avocados, tomatoes, radishes, olives, orange peppers, tons of delicious shrimp in a very tasty thousand island dressing. Great warm bread with whipped butter. Hubby had steak n shrimp with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Cooked to order and perfect. Laura our beautiful wait staff was terrific. Made an online reservation and waited about 7 minutes to be seated. We ordered two appetizers, soup, and a salad. The spicy buffalo cauliflower was overcooked and overly sauced, and the calamari was mostly small pieces rather than the larger rings I expected. The salad was good, though I didn't expect raw mushrooms. I had planned to order a cocktail with Empress gin from the online menu, but it was no longer available in the restaurant. We love Emory's. It's nearby, always has good food, is right on the edge of Silver Lake in South Everett, and we almost never have to wait if we have a reservation. Tonight was the exception. We had a reservation for 6 PM, but didn't get seated until after 6:30. The food was fantastic (the Seafood Fettuccine was probably the best I've ever had), but this one occasion I was looking forward to them asking if it was a special occasion like they always do, since it was our 47th wedding anniversary, and they didn't ask! That actually suited my wife just fine, but I was anticipating a little bit of recognition, so was a little disappointed. read more

My first visit to Emory's left something to be desired. My boyfriend and I decided to stop in for their happy hour, which has a decently sized food and drink menu with reasonable prices. I started with a peach hard lemonade, which was sweet and tangy with an $8.50 price tag. The food, on the other hand, was just alright. Our Woodstone pizzas were tasty, but the crust was underwhelming. This is a seafood restaurant, so the pizza isn't their priority. We dined on the patio, which was pretty toasty on a 70° day. We had an amazing dinner with not one disappointed face. We started with Calamari Fritti and Steamed Clams. The calamari was crispy, with small rings and a really good dipping sauce. The boyfriend and daughter pretty much devoured the clams--they were sitting in the most flavorful lemon-butter sauce, which they both practically wanted to drink. Drinks: Ginger ale and Jameson Berry Berry Drop (beyond delicious) Shirley Temple My daughter had the Garlic Cheese French Dip. It was her first time trying a French dip and she said it was tasty and she enjoyed it. My boyfriend ordered the Creamy Seafood Risotto. Nothing but positive things came out of his mouth with every single bite! He even had enough to take home for lunch tomorrow. I did the 3 for $33 option: Caesar Salad - easily the most delicious and flavorful Caesar I've had in a long time. Plenty of cheese and dressing. Double R Ranch Top Sirloin with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies - ordered medium well and it came out perfect. Flavorful, well-seasoned, and you could cut it like butter. Well...the steak was good. The puddle it was in? Mediocre. The squiggles piped on top? Mid. The veggies? Soft and bland veggies, the potatoes were slightly sweet and they were normal mash. And while the apple bread pudding dessert was delicious it was given to me cold. Yes, I asked for it to go, no I did not say don't warm it. I had to eat it to go as my wife was feeling ill suddenly mid meal. Once I realized it was cold I had to wait for a microwave to dig in. In the end it felt like a place that was good at some point, went a little too far trying to fancy it up (sauce + green piping on steak) and not far enough to maintain consistency (a better roast on the veg and some salt and pepper would have done wonders). Unfortunately pair this with the very frosty service, and I won't be back. The dipping oil seemed to be short on the olive oil as we both had an inflammatory reaction to seed oils - that subsequently kept us up most of the night with digestive distress. One plus, the cherry tomatoes in the salad were actually pretty good. The hamburger was not worth the price. I asked for medium rare and it came out well done. It also seemed to have been reheated as in not freshly cooked. Our table felt like we were squeezed onto a shoulder on a busy highway. Food was 'okay' but just too expensive for okay. This was my second time at Emory's and it was just as great as the first time. The restaurant is decorated so cute for the holidays. We got to sit outside in the enclosed/heated patio by the fireplace and it was the perfect temperature and so cozy. This really added to the ambiance. We ate our hearts out and it was all so tasty. For drinks, we got the peppermint martini and double chocolate martini from the holiday menu. I definitely preferred the chocolate martini. The peppermint martini was good but I feel like it was missing chocolate. That would've made it perfect. For appetizers, we ordered the flatbread bruschetta and the brie. Both were really good. For the salad, I ordered the hearts of romaine. I wasn't expecting the salad to come out this way - I do appreciate the presentation but I like when my salad is evenly coated with dressing so that was a slight miss - otherwise tasty. For dinner, I got the meatloaf and it was so good. Every bite with the mashed potatoes and broccolini and meatloaf was just so cozy and delicious. Comfort food at its finest. For dessert, we got the chocolate mousse, apple pie thing, and a peppermint sundae. All were great. Overall, it was a tasty night and I am still thinking about the food a week later. read more

Went in on a busy Saturday night for a little pre-ballet date night with my fiance. Got a nice table with a great water view. The drinks were awesome (blood orange mule was fantastic), the service was impeccable. Couldnt even get half of my water finished and it was being filled already. Everything came out hot and fresh. I had the Steak Oscar special done medium rare. It was perfectly cooked. I do wish for a little more crab with that dish but, who doesnt want more crab regardless. It was very tasty and I would order again. My fiance got the creamy seafood risotto and she absolutely was raving about it. Our waitress was pleasant and on point. I wish I could remember her name but kudos to the staff there for providing excellent service. It seems its more and more rare these days and they really knocked it out of the park. We came here for dinner the other night when my parents were in town. We had never been before and decided to give it a try. The restaurant was beautiful and the view was gorgeous. We got there around 5:15 and were seated immediately. I definitely recommend making a reservation if you don't get here early because the place got really busy as the night went on. They have a great deal for early dinner with 3 courses for $28. I got this along with my parents while my husband ordered from the regular menu. We got bread to start which was a tasty sourdough and a delicious garlic oil to dip it in to. I got the shrimp cocktail and the Caesar salad to start (it was $5 extra for an additional appetizer). The Caesar was tasty and a good size. The shrimp cocktail wasn't my favorite as the shrimp was just lightly tossed in cocktail sauce and I prefer it on the side to dip the shrimp in to. For my entree I got the garlic crab which came with a cluster of crab legs, potatoes and corn. The crab and potatoes didn't have much flavor but the crab seemed fresh. I ended up dipping it in the garlic oil from the bread which made it delicious. The corn was too greasy so I didn't eat much of it. For dessert I got the chocolate mousse which was tasty. My parents got the cod and shrimp scampi which they both enjoyed. My husband got the duck which he really liked and the apple pie for dessert which was delicious. My wife and I had dinner last night. Fish and chips. The waitress was great. We left a good tip. We barely got home before we both got very sick. Could've been the too greasy fish (tasted a little too 'fishy'). Maybe the too greasy fries, the overly sugared coleslaw, or the tartar sauce or oil for dipping bread - both with way too much garlic. The cod dinner was good, not overcooked. The bread and olive oil were great. Our service was mediocre, we had to ask for water and soft drink refills. The restaurant was clean and the restrooms were fresh. We expected more and we were disappointed. We ordered the filet mignon, salmon, huckleberry crumble and huckleberry daiquiri. It was all fine not 5* but not quite. 4* experience. My favorite was the house salad and the huckleberry crumble, and the daiquiri could've been better. It tasted like watered down juice. I saw this place on a run around silver lake trail. Looks beautiful from the outside but it's even nicer inside. Love the decor, just like eating in a giant cabin on the lake which huge windows facing the lake. The bread served with garlic oil was delicious. Got the fried calamari, not too greasy not too crunchy and not too chewy, very good. The winter walnut old fashioned was so good. Got the meatloaf and chicken saltimbocca both were amazing. Tori, the hostess, was very accommodating and managed to procure us a table by the windows. There really is a nice view and it got even better at sunset. Huckleberry drinks and desserts were the specials! My wife and I had never tried huckleberries so we got both drinks, huckleberry lemonade, and dessert, a huckleberry slump with ice cream. I'm actually relieved that Anthony's has retained the Emory's charm. If I'm being completely honest, I'm not much of a fan of Anthony's restaurants, as I find their menus boring, and the kid's menus are not great (if they even have them). So, I was kind of bummed when Emory's sold. Fast forward to now, we've been back to Emory's twice since the changing of hands, and it's been great both times. They have a large event space in a back room, with lots of tables and booths, and also reasonable prices. This night, we sat in the main dining room. I did feel as though some of the entrees were pretty expensive for the area, but my husband and I opted for pizzas, which were more in line with the budget we wanted to stay in. We love both the Prosciutto and the Margherita pizzas. They have a thin, crispy crust, and are cooked in their woodfire oven. I was even more impressed with their kids menu. Lots of options, and great portions for the price. Definitely one of the better kid's menu in town. Love the lodge vibe as well as the water view. Our server was fantastic! The parking lot is terrible, so be prepared. Reservations recommended. read more

I've been going to Emory's with my family ever since I was younger and this was my first time at Emory's after a long time. The interior is almost the same as I remembered and the view is still beautiful that overlooks Silver Lake. The food is still as good as I remembered. I ordered the steak with crab on top with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Price was $32 which is pretty good for steak and crab. Complimentary bread was soft and warm served with olive oil. On Valentine's Day, the hubby took me to Emroy and we loved it, especially the pork chop and Copper Salmon Asian Style Appetizer. The were just perfect and I wrote an excellent review about them. But this time, the Salmon Appetizer was too oily and salty and the claim chowder wasn't hot. But we loved the charcoal taste of the salmon. They brought new bowls of chowder and this time they were hot. The manager came and we told her about the Appetizer and she comped us both the chowder and appetizer. Now, thats a Classy restaurant!!!
