I've never had a bad meal here. Everything is very good. My favorite dish is the Enchiladas Lorena!

My friend and I were seated in side and we were very cold so we asked to move to the outside patio area. Then another worker came over to us and told us we couldn't sit outside because one of us wasn't 21 but neither of us were ordering drinks and the patio area wasn't even connected to the actual bar. I Have made numerous attempts on orders to go and I go in person and I don't feel like I should have to double check my order every time I go, but that's what I'm going to have to start doing. They never seem to get an order right, the food is great don't get me wrong but it is very frustrating when you're getting something to go and almost nothin you order is what you are sent home with and this is officially the 3rd time. read more

This is my first yelp post. I signed up for a yelp account specifically so I could review this restaurant and warn people away. I just ate there tonight with a couple of girlfriends. I should preface this post with the fact that I am not a complainer. Nor am I a picky eater who makes outrageous demands. Even if I get served something different from what I ordered, I usually won't even send it back. That being said, I have NEVER in my life been treated with such disrespect at any restaurant. From the moment we were seated, our server was extremely rude. She didn't greet us at all, just came up and rudely asked for our drink order. She came back quickly with my friend's ice tea and literally slammed it on the table. She did the same with my drink (the Pasion Margarita, which was actually good) and didn't check on us or see if we wanted more drinks or to order food for over an hour. This was irritating, but we were waiting for another friend to arrive, so we didn't make an issue of it. When they finally did take our food order, it came out quickly, which was nice. I ordered the chicken fajitas and the chicken was cooked well, but not seasoned enough and the rice and beans platter served with it was awful. Runny beans with no flavor and bland, undercooked rice. When the check came and we had paid, the server brought our cards and told us other people were waiting for our table and we needed to leave. My friend asked a different server to speak to a manager and instead of the manager, our server comes back up to us and said, "You have something you need to say to me?" in a very confrontational manner. My friend politely stated our concerns and instead of an apology, the server chose to argue with her. We were never allowed to speak with the manager. Final verdict, the food was just okay. If the service wasn't so terrible, I might have hit up happy hour because the margarita was good and not watered down, but even if the service was amazing, I still probably wouldn't have eaten there again because the food wasn't awesome. read more

I won't review the food here, since it's been done over 100 times. I'll summarize by saying it's above average - better than the typical Azteca fare. The prices are good and the service leans towards slow. What I'll mention specifically is the noise. The restaurant is a single room with tile. It is extremely loud! I rarely notice noise in a restaurant, in fact there should always be a busy hum in a full establishment. That's not the case here, the noise is distracting. read more

Tried this restaurant twice. Ate in the first time. Pretty good food. Last night, I went in and placed an order to go for my husband and I. I asked if salsa came with the chips or if it was the cabbage based salsa. I was told that we did not get chips and salsa with a "to go" order unless we spent $40.00 or more. I told her we would like to get chips and salsa anyway. I was charged an extra $5.00. Now if we had stayed in and ate, we would have gotten both kinds of salsa and probably 2 baskets of chips like we did the first time we ate there. And there was no extra charge. Not getting chips and salsa with a "to go" order was a fast way to lose a future customer. Hope it was worth it. read more

I went here for a date. I enjoyed the night vibe that the restaurant has, very finely toned on a sunny day. The noise level was high due to the high level of costumers that were eating. The servers were attentive. Nothing special about the food. Chips and salsa was not that great. Overall, I would say this would be an average Mexican family oriented restaurant. read more

This place is just your middle of the road Mexican restaurant. We started with Queso Fundito, which isn't queso at all. It was a huge platter of beans sprinkled with a very small amount of cheese, topped with a few crumbles of chorizo & 2 sliced jalapeños. Definitely not worth the 11 dollars we paid. The fire roasted jalapeños were the best part of the entire dish. I ordered a chicken dish, "crema something or other," that boasted a secret cream sauce. It was terrible. The chicken was cut into strips & so rubbery that I could barely chew it. The cream sauce was bland & didn't taste fresh at all. I tried it in the tortillas they provided, took one bite & left the rest sitting there. My Husband ordered a chimichanga combo plate, one beef one chicken. The beef chimichanga had zero seasoning. It was basically under salted hamburger meat wrapped up & fried. The only saving grace here was the shredded chicken chimichanga. The meat was seasoned & juicy. We smothered it in salsa & it was the only thing either of us enjoyed throughout our whole meal. I wish I could rate the service separately. I would give 2 stars. We had an early dinner so we were the only 2 people in the dinning room. Our drinks ran out several times, so much so that I just started walking to the bar myself for refills. read more

I was craving tacos so I decided to try this place. I walked in and the bar was full so I waited for a table. I waited and waited, which gave me the opportunity to get a good look at the restaurant. It wasn't very clean so I decided to check out the bathroom because if that's bad chances are the kitchen isn't clean. Holy hell that bathroom smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in years. We're big fans of Passion Tequila & have been since their opening. We've known the owners (by way of their food) since way back when they were running Jalisco's on 228th in Bothell. Thank God they got out on their own & opened Passion!! The ONLY reasons that 5 stars are not given is because, A: I was born & raised in So Cal. I know what great Mexican food tastes like. They cook it here, however the flavor has slipped a bit over the last couple of years. B: 5 stars are handed out too easily. If a restaurant gets 5 stars from me, I've eaten my "death row meal". Let me begin by saying that I generally leave 40% or higher tips when I go out...and I have never stopped eating my food (especially when I was starving). Okay. So now...on to my review. A friend and I are on a quest to find good, authentic Mexican food (the kind we grew up with). Knowing we are in WA State, we do not have high expectations...as long as the service is welcoming and the food is not horrible. We decided to try Passion Margarita. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot (which is generally a good sign) and I was not surprised to see that the majority of the people in the restaurant were of the pasty white WA persuasion--it's expected in Bothell. My friend ordered the 3 enchilada combo and I ordered the combo with the taco, enchilada, and tamale. When the food arrived, I noticed instantly that the taco shell was store bought and not fried up immediately. Not a huge issue, as that is normal in Mexican restaurants in WA. I took a bite of the taco...and the shell was incredibly stale. I could not eat more, which was fine...I had other stuff. So, I tried the chicken enchilada. The chicken was unbearably dry, which was fine...I had other stuff. The tamale (or tamal) had the driest most flavorless masa I've ever had. I tried to chalk it up that I just know how to make masa at home and cannot expect a WA based restaurant to know what masa is supposed to taste like. Then I took a bite of the beans....which tasted like someone tried to cover up their canned taste with salt...a whole lot of salt. My friend was so disappointed because her enchiladas were made with canned sauce. Needless to say, we were not fond of the food. We waited for an hour and 16 minutes for the server to finally acknowledge us. She looked at our plates and said (loudly), "You didn't eat anything." I replied, "No, I wasn't fond of it. We can just get our checks now." She asked, "Did you want something else?" I repeated, "No, it's okay, we can just get our check." She then loudly brought attention to us to the entire restaurant by loudly stating, "I don't know why you don't like it--everyone here loves it--there must be something wrong with you." I then, in shock, asked her if she really just said that...as she proceeded to go on and on about how everything there is the best food we could ever have and how we must have something wrong with us if we didn't like it. I complimented Marta on her fine customer service skills and asked to speak with a manager...only to be told that she WAS the manager. THEN, here's the kicker, she proceeded to go to each table and point us out and tell each customer how we didn't eat their awesome food and how we obviously have something wrong with us. We ended up leaving...and I hate that I finally had an experience where I didn't leave a tip. Thankfully, we were still starving and ended up at Grazi's down the street...for the best tasting Margarita I've ever had...and that amazing server ended up with a $40 tip from our table and a glowing Yelp review to follow. I am the first to admit that I have a higher expectation for Mexican food because I cook it at home all the time (and from scratch) and I'm purposely suppressing that knowledge when I go our for Mexican food. Really, if the service is good, I'm happy. I've left a $10 tip when the kitchen forgot my order and I never got food. I've left a $20 tip when I found a Bandaid in my mashed potatoes. I've always been understanding when it comes to things not always happening as an establishment expects. However, the need for Marta to walk around from table to table in an attempt to shame a patron that just didn't like the food (and was still willing to pay for the order) is unacceptable. But, on another note...if you want an amazing margarita...go to Gratzi's! Yes, an Italian restaurant has hand muddled margaritas that beyond amazing. Man, that was a novel. read more

I used to love coming to this restaurant. But the owner has a grudge against his customers. My friend and I came in during a busy dinner hour. We ordered two appetizers and ended up waiting over 30 minutes for our food. Our waitress told us she would give us a discount because we waited so long. When we got our bill, it was full price. We went up front to pay and told the cashier that we were offered a discount, but were charged full price. The owner came over and argued that we didn't need a discount because good Mexican food takes time. Well, over the 20+ times I'd eaten there, I'd never waited more that 10 minutes for food. And that's when I ordered full meals! Most people go get Mexican food because it is quick! Never have I felt so insulted. I told him his employee offered us the discount, but he still argued. As a business owner myself, I'd never treat my customers as if they were wrong and undeserving of what was offered. I told I was a long time customer but that I wouldn't come back and he said "good!". I'm a respectful person with a kind heart. This was so shocking to me. With that said, Julio's is now my go to Mexican restaurant. What happened was a blessing in disguise, because Julios has the best Mexican food in Bothell. Don't be fooled by Pasion. (They also like to trick their customers by pretending their vegetarian food is really vegetarian, when most of it contains lard.) read more

We are longtime fans of Jalisco (Canyon Park). When most of the staff (and cooks) left Jalisco, we followed them to Pasion Tequila. The chips and salsa appear immediately - the chips are hot and fresh, the salsas are fresh and piquant. Always two kinds of salsa: One is soupy and thick with tomatoes, onions, peppers, the other is like a small salad - chopped cabbage and peppers. The entrees seem to appear almost as soon as they're ordered, only the dishes are seriously hot (oven hot) and the ingredients are fresh and delicious. These are big servings and much of it ends up as tomorrow's lunch. The fajitas are particularly good. Everyone in the restaurant knows when you order them - they come to your table - still cooking loudly - in a cast-iron skillet. Good stuff. I saw one negative review here and I cannot imagine how anyone could have a bad experience here. The staff knows us well - we've patronized them for many years. read more

Probably the best Mexican in the area. The menu is pretty standard but everything we ordered was on point. The place is nice and clean and the staff was great. We ordered Shirley Temple's for the kids and they heard me talk to the kids about cherries so they brought extra in a small bowl. They were also smart enough to know you don't bring kids super hot plates. Only thing is I would like to see an extra Grande margarita get on the menu. read more

I've gone to Pasion Tequila more recently and had a much better experience than in the past. The customer service is much better, than it used to be. The atmosphere in the bar is fun, and I've received great service when I sat in there. The happy hour and margaritas are also fantastic. Having grown up in CA eating Mexican food I am extremely picky about what I consider "good" mexican food. Pasion Tequila is not a taqueria, the quality of the ingredients are high and it is a sit down restaurant where you can get top notch mexican food (and a delicious margarita). For starters, the salsas and tortilla chips are home made. All of the food from the burritos and fajitas delicious, and with the enchiladas and house specials I have yet to be dissapointed. The staff are very friendly and my kids love it. For a family sit down, authentic Mexican dining experience you will not find a better restaurant. read more

Came for lunch today(2nd visit). I guess I am on a mexican eating spree. twice in one week. I think this place is almost the same as the azteca mexican chains. beans taste like they are from a can and almost everything is topped with cheese. Didnt like my meal. Server was rude! I would be okay with bad food and nice server or good food, bad server but you cant have both. People really dont understand the meaning of mexican food now a days....sad when mexicans are the ones cooking it. Really bad food, they brought out some kind of Cole slaw that was grey, and the salsa was stems of cilantro... I couldn't cut my cheese enchilada with a fork, the tamale had baked cheese on top, and the chili rejueno was cover in a sweet ketchup... the server said, can I take your order and that was it...dont waste your money read more

This place use to be the best around, but now it has dropped off my family's radar screen. The serves has changed for the worst and the food has gone down hill. The waitress who is also the owners Mother doesn't even smile or come back to see how your meal is, this isn't the first time that we have experience bad food and serves. We would complain but she drop's off the food without saying anything and we don't see her again even to get drinks, it does not matter if the place is busy or slow, this has been a pattern for at least the last 3 years now. We have followed them even before they opened Pasion Tequila. Being in the Bothell community I have also heard the same stories from other's people to, so that is why I am writing to let them know that they need to keep working on improving so they can be as good as they once were. read more
