My friend and I decided to try Sushi Zone after hearing good things, but unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. We split an udon dish ($12.95), ordered 5 sushi plates + 1 order of crab rangoon but the portions felt quite small for the price. The fish did not taste as fresh or high quality as I was hoping, and the overall meal was underwhelming. Service was also inconsistent during our visit. We waited about 25 minutes before anyone noticed our water glasses were empty. At one point, I tried to get a staff member's attention for a refill, and they told me to hold on while they grabbed a white to go bag for another table in front of us. Unfortunately, they never came back, and we ended up waiting even longer. My friend and I's total came to about $41 per person after tip, and I left feeling disappointed with the value for what I received. For a similar price point, I personally prefer BittyFish in Lynnwood, where I have found the portions, quality, and overall experience to be better. I walked up the street for lunch today. I had to wait just a few minutes to be seated but less than 5. The restaurant was very busy but they have lots of helpful and pleasant staff. I asked to order from the huge menu rather than using the conveyer belt. I was brought a large metal glass of delicious tea and was not rushed while I read through it trying to decide. Please take note of the address and park in the appropriate lot for an easy walk into the building. Staff was warm and welcoming and made all the difference for this lunch. The conveyor belt has an upper and lower track. The upper track is for room temperature, sushi and rolls and the lower is for hot entrées. We tried several different things and among them were salmon, tuna, yellowtail, Unagi, edamame, Tempura, shrimp, and vegetables. Everything was fresh and delicious. What really made to visit stand out was the service that we received. Throughout our lunch, the staff were courteous and prompt to keep our glasses filled, and removed things from our table that we did not need. I also ordered a few nigiri options and a soft shell crab roll. Again, the prices compared to the portion size are ridiculous in the best way possible. Every other sushi spot (especially Sushi Koushi) is overpriced and a rip-off compared to Sushi Zone. Every single dish is a knockout. This place is truly one of Bothell's pride and joy. They also have many dessert items. If you are looking for something different, they have a menu where you can order a variety of sushi donburi, noodle dishes, and additional rolls. It is pretty spacious inside, and the service is excellent every time we go. They are conveniently located in Bothell downtown. Last minute replacement for a quality sushi restaurant that was closed. I used to have a rule against conveyor belt sushi. This one didn't disappoint horribly but didn't argue for the positive. Service was quite attentive however compared to others. Spicy tuna was not really spicy nor quality. I ordered a hand roll extra spicy tuna and it was just a bit better in spice but poor quality. Toro was shaved and different but ok. Tuna in general pretty good but conbelt quality. The Amberjack was the star of the show, fresh, clean, and a bit of a firm bite but nice. My wife ordered a tuna cheek hot dish and rice and it was cooked well with a tasty exterior sear. However our prized pup got a holiday tuna rice add on to his kibble he loved! First off, let me apologize. When I write reviews, I typically try to take pictures of each item and share my experience. That lasted for about two minutes at Sushi Zone before I completely forgot. We arrived on a weekday, right at opening. Although the staff was busy prepping cake/ginger/wasabi/etc, presumably for to-go orders, we were greeted with a smile and offered a booth near the kitchen. Our server asked if we wanted to order from the menu. Neither my wife nor I had been to conveyor sushi in the better part of two decades, so our plan was to mostly grab what looked good but it was still empty as they had just opened. We ordered the calamari roll and tuna sashimi to get started. The calamari roll came up first and, surprisingly, was the most bland thing we ate. I can't recall anything about it and therefore I'd pass next time. The tuna sashimi was rich, tender, and luxurious. A side of chili for dipping was provided and helped make it even more interesting. While I don't normally eat a lot of sashimi, I'd try this again. And then the conveyor belts started to populate. Cold on top, heated on bottom, and dangerous all the way through. We immediately snagged a slice of mocha cake because they showed sold out when I checked the night before and I knew I'd want some. Fried cheese wontons quickly found their way into my mouth. Simple but indulgent and delicious. Oh look, chicken katsu! I wasn't expecting that. Yes please! About ten seconds later, some sauce was brought to go with it - nice. Not the best katsu I've ever had but definitely decent and, especially if we came back with the kids, I'd grab it again. From there, things were a blur. I'm sure we grabbed a California roll. Then we had... uh, I have no idea what else. By the time we were done, there was a beautiful multicolored stack of plates and two very happy, very full adults. Oh, shrimp shumai! We totally had some of that and loved it. I've usually had shumai at Dim Sum but this was served in a broth. I should have tried drinking it, but again - food blur. What I do remember is that both of us smiled a lot. Our only real disappointment was that when we had room for just one roll, the last UW roll got snagged from the belt before it reached us. Go to sushi hana if you want good Japanese food in Bothell. The food is fine, at best. The nagiri is lacking the details that make nagiri more than rice and fish. The ramen is clearly a 99 cent package of noodles with bulk bought toppings. It is tasteless and in desperate need of flavor. We came back to this place after such a looong time. And the quality of the food was definitely better than we remembered. The store is very open. They have huge variety of sushi rolls. We wanted to try them all! I love that they have double-decker belts which is very fun: top is cold rolls and bottom is fried food and rolls. I always love eating fried food from the bottom. So fun! Saturday night was BUSY - we waited about 30-40 minutes for a party of two. We've been here for lunch several weeks ago but it was a letdown. This was sort of a second try (because our first choice was also a long wait and we had decided to go here as an alternative) I'm glad that I gave this place another shot because the food was much better and despite how insanely busy it was, our server was really kind and quick with requests. Tips are shared amongst all servers here, which I wished it wasn't so because I would have wanted to give ours specifically extra tips. He was working really hard and as I observed, always spoke with customers with respect and kindness. Anyways onto the food - we had a few rolls, seaweed salad, seared salmon nigiri (really good - some places don't know how to sear correctly) but I wanted to venture off the belt! The stars of our meal were the sashimi deluxe and tonkatsu ramen. I only took a picture of the sashimi but next time I'll snap a picture of the ramen because it was delicious and aesthetically pleasing! Sashimi was overall very good - fresh, better than expected for a conveyor belt sushi place. The cuts were thick, which I wasn't expecting. It was also my first time eating just sashimi and not chirashi style with something else to go with the fish. I enjoyed everything except the mackerel - very very fishy and salty. But that's how mackerels are and it's just not my jam. The tonkatsu broth was heaven! The shoyu egg was overcooked as ramen egg should be kinda runny. The pork was fantastic - good amount of fattiness and flavor. The fish cakes weren't good - bland with a hint of fish. Ramen noodles were however cooked really well, right amount of al dente and chewiness - and there's a LOT. I'd come back and try other things off the menu (skip the belt unless i want seared salmon) - the dragon roll is pretty good according to my kiddo. Coconut shrimp is okay, nothing to write home about. The Tokyo roll was yummy - definitely recommend that. read more

It felt spacious, looked great, and they got rid of the bar part at the belt which I think was a good choice. They even got rid of the second door you used to have to go through. This place was very lackluster. The fish quality was just medium. The servers were resourceful, but not in a great way. When I ordered from the menu, the server grabbed the sushi off the conveyor belt instead of having it made fresh. That really threw me off because usually when you order from the menu, it means you want it freshly prepared, not picked off the belt. I'm a sucker for revolving sushi and just had to try Sushi Zone out. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had two belts, one for hot foods and one for cold. To make the most of the experience, I only tried from the belts. I completely missed the sign of how much each plate is and just went at it to my heart's content. In my defense, it was a mini bday celebration to myself. I ended up getting rolls, some nigiri and a plate of crab rangoons. It seems like for the hot fried foods, it might be a toss up if you get the sauces that come with it. I didn't know that the rangoons would have it until a waiter handed it to me. Overall for the rolls and the nigiri, it all felt pretty fresh to me. I ended up spending about $50 for everything which I don't think was that bad for an somewhat indulgent dinner. The only mildly annoying thing is I suck at finding parking, especially at dinner hour. The closest lot was full and so was closest street parking. When did this restaurant pop up? It's so good to see a new conveyor belt restaurant. This place looked new, clean, and modern like it came right out of a video game! We arrived when it opened at 11:00 am on a Wednesday. We were greeted well and food came out fairly quickly. They welcomed us ordering from the Server as well. They had really good rolls and unique new flavors too! I loved how there were labels on the conveyor belt explaining what each item was composed of. The hamachi and unagi were our favorites.
