Heard about a new belt sushi place (not revolving, just belt delivered to you) and had to try it out Came for a Friday night dinner and it was pretty empty. The place itself is bright, open, and minimal. The tables are also spaced out quite a bit, so it feels pretty private. I like their tablet ordering system. Each item gives a good description of ingredients which I liked. Service is good as well -- just filling up waters and taking away empty plates. We ordered a variety of nigiri and the crab tempura. The nigiri themselves were not bad. Salmon was good, scallops were moderately good, uni was terrible but why would you expect otherwise. I surprisingly really liked their scallop truffle piece. The snow crab tempura was delicious, but wish they gave more pieces, especially given the almost $20 price tag The Shinkansen delivered sushi is cute, but there's 2 belts serving each table and the train only runs on one belt, so not guaranteed you'll get the train every order. Overall, okay. There are some interesting pieces like ones with truffle. But there's ones with cheese, mango... are.. questionable? Fish quality is an okay hit or a miss and prices are a bit steep especially for the quality.

It took me a while to get used to ordering food from the pictures on an Ipad, but I love how the food is delivered near your table on a conveyor belt aside if booths and tables. The Japanese sushi, sashimi, rolls and bowls were all delicious

I love this spot! I've always been trying to find a good conveyor belt sushi and I finally found one! We got a various assortment of nigiris and appetizers. My partner and I's favorite are the wagyus! They're incredibly soft and it melts in your mouth. Although there were some items that were a little off (can't exactly remember which one) but most of them were great! The quality of sushi is amazing and I definitely would come back here!

I was disappointed with the food here. A lot of the rolls seem to have cream cheese added which feels kinda odd and white washed. I also saw like mango slices and cheese on top of some of their nigiri's which looked weird but I haven't tried myself. The tonkatsu ramen we ordered had a light broth that didn't taste like traditional tonkatsu broth. The bamboo shoots tasted really off too. I can't even describe it and I wasn't sure if it was normal or if we got canned rotten bamboo shoots or something. The meat was also dry. I think the best part of the food was the tempura as it tasted good with a lot of crunch in it. The taco wasn't bad either with a good crunch to them. The pricing wasn't worth coming here for me as you can find better options elsewhere.

Came here for the little train system, left pretty disappointed. All of the food we ordered was really mediocre, pretty bland. The ramen had bamboo shoots that tasted really off, and the pork slices were dry, not tender. The broth tasted flavorless. Felt like a lot of the flavors catered towards a western palate (lots of American cheese and cream cheese involved). Prices didn't feel justified for the mid flavors and portions. Ambiance was great though, very clean and cute. Service was fine

The unique part of this dining experience is getting nigiri with fancy stuff like caviar, foie gras, or truffle served on a Shinkansen-shaped tray from the conveyer belt. With the decor, table and tablet designs, and so forth, It feels like a Japan experience. And the food is truly good. I'm impressed by their unique flavor combinations. But the options are quite limited and hopefully just because they're still new. (Also, not enough business to really justify having more on the menu yet.) I recommend giving it a try, but you shouldn't look at it like a traditional conveyer belt sushi restaurant; it's meant to be premium and different, with the average plate costing $6.90 and it's the price that deters me the most. I had no problem with wait times or staff. In fact, they were really nice and lovely to talk to.

    Salmon Tacos!! Very delicious!

What have we here? "Seattle's first double-track sushi experience". Excellent food, we went the day it opened - one day after their soft opening (still got a free tuna nigiri though!). As a group of four we tried many things! You order on an iPad and the food comes whizzing out shortly. On the upper track, it arrives on a bullet-train-looking tray. Fun. For soup we had Tonkotsu Ramen (w/ perfectly cooked egg) and Braised Pork Ribs Udon. Couldn't really tell the difference between their ramen noodle and udon noodle - they seemed the same. Presentations were different though. Deep-fried nori on the tonkotsu was a nice touch. We had the Tempura Moriawase - "Moriawase" (盛り合わせ) translates to "assortment" or "platter" in English. It was a nice assortment, and the shrimp got good reviews from our group. Sushi was Tuna Nigiri (free!), Aloha Roll (pricey!), Spicy Tuna Maki (yum), and Rainbow Roll. All good. We also got the tuna handroll (Temaki - 手巻き). Spicy tuna was uniformly nice and spicy. And finally strawberry mochi for dessert. Five stars because they're brand new and all the prepared food was super tasty. ROOM FOR IMPROVMENT YOU ASK? Sure! 1. provide little plates to each customer please so sushi can be shared. We were eating over the tables like chumps. 2. Fresh ginger please! This red fake stuff won't fly. 3. If you have TVs (they have 2 here), please consider having the audio OFF and closed caption ON. We can watch TV with the sound on at home! 4. Optional: this is Seattle, so they may want to reconsider having fox news blasting on one of the TVs. I mean, if you must, just have it muted with CC on, that way everyone can laugh at the absurd nonsense they air.

Two stars because the food was ok for what it is, fast food conveyor sushi. The bowl was the best thing. Only reason why I didn't give it a higher rating was because the bathroom was disgusting. My friend and I had to use paper towels to wipe ourselves. All the stalls had no TP. We had to leave in trash so toilets won't clog. And the floor was so sticky my shoes were sticking to the floor. I'm just glad I ate before seeing all this or I would've just walked out.

Went in for Sunday dinner around 6PM. No wait. Very clean space m. Similar to Kura but friendlier price point and I liked the iPad ordering where you can pass the iPad around unlike Kura. Hit or miss for some items. But have a lot of options for people you don't eat raw food. I personally really liked the beef sushi with truffle.

    Alex N.

This place succeeded my expectations especially as a conveyor belt sushi spot. The prices in my opinion were very friendly. Very easy ordering system. My favorite was their truffle items. My second favorite things were their tacos. Overall great spot I highly recommend and would come back.

The menu options were limited compared to other sushi places I've been to. The rolls we had were fine but were lacking that flavor that makes a bite very satisfying. My favorite items were the unagi taco and the salmon avocado sushi. Everything else felt basic in flavor and texture. The interior is nice clean and new! And the bullet train conveyor belt is cute.

Those with allergies, beware of the management here…read more Since I'm allergic to crab I specifically asked our waitress if imitation or real crab was used in the rolls as it wasn't clear on the menu and she confirmed that it was imitation - awesome, we ordered three rolls. However, after I took my first bite I noticed the taste was unusually fishy and the texture was off. I checked the other rolls and the "crab salad" looked stringy like real crab so I spit it out and had my partner ask the chef if it was imitation or real. The chef said it was real so we flagged down our waitress to tell her we couldn't eat this even though I had literally asked her to confirm for me. She brings out the manager and there's no apology, he just says "the owners switched to real crab about 3 weeks ago for better quality" and that they can take it back and off the bill, but hello? You don't inform your staff about that change? Your waitress confirmed to me that it was not crab. They were lucky I spit out my food as soon as I realized and had allergy medicine on me. They rushed me to pick something else after I asked if I could order something without crab since the kitchen was closing and they didn't have imitation crab to use (which could all have been avoided had they given me the correct information to begin with). What we ended up with was alright, though the manager rushed me to order a roll with bell pepper in it (tf?). The cherry on top is that when our waitress came with our bill, they gave us three tip options - based on the original total LMAO!! Our new bill was around $50 (since we ordered less) vs the other $100+ bill and somehow an 18% tip was nearly half of our bill. We aren't ones to not tip and it's not like this was the kitchen's fault - just management - so we left a 15% tip for our new bill.

Definitely brought the mood down further. Food was a hit or a miss, no in between. Hit: Garlic short ribs (my partner said these were tender and a good portion for happy hour), Poke sushi roll (good fish quality and taste) Misses: First Ave Roll (sauce was just walloped on top, weak flavors), veggie and shrimp tempura (heavy and soggy batter), pink lychee cooler (artificially sweet with no strong lychee flavor), green tea tiramisu (photo speaks for itself). For all the rave reviews, I was pretty let down. Thankfully, we went during happy hour so we didn't pay full price. I would not visit here again.

I was so surprised to find this place in the middle of SLU behind an unmarked door, almost speakeasy style. How fun! We were first served a welcome cocktail, which was delicious, and some appetizers, which were creative and fun. Then, we got led into a different room where the sushi counter and 3 chefs were there to prep and interact with us. Each piece was explained in detail, and you could tell the care and thought put into each flavor pairing. We loved the fusion that set scratch apart from your traditional omakase. From Korean to Vietnamese flavors, I was surprised each bite. I also loved the cucumber pickles we had instead of the traditional pickled ginger as a palate cleanser. Finally, we ended with a dessert that I got a candle in because it's my birthday yippee! So cute and they also took a Polaroid of us with the candle. This is definitely a special occasion spot, but the scratch team puts so much effort into making sure everyone is accommodated and has a good time. I'd recommend it for your next intimate celebration.

I've been fortunate to enjoy several omakase meals over the years, and while many simply let the chef choose your sushi, Sugo takes the concept to another level. Every course is thoughtfully orchestrated, with each piece expertly prepared and presented right in front of you. Watching the chefs work is part of what makes the evening so memorable. The seafood was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and every course reflected genuine craftsmanship and attention to detail. It was clear that the chefs take great pride in what they create.
