Great deal during Seattle restaurant week! My partner and I made a reservation during Seattle restaurant week for our weekly dinner and we left very full with a lot of leftovers! We elected to choose the two dinner options that were available which included 3 choice rolls and a huge nigiri dinner. The portions were HUGE and they have a good variety of roll choices. The nigiri dinner was pretty good! The fish quality was not amazing but for the price point during restaurant week made it worth it! I don't think I would go for the regular price though just because there are a lot of other options around with better fish quality. The service was really nice and the restaurant was nice and big with plenty of dining size options. It also seems like they have free parking in some sort of garage but we did not realize until after leaving the restaurant so look for that option if you are able to! read more

Note -- ordered this for delivery. Experience at restaurant perhaps might be different. My group got this via ubereats. I got the tekka don (bluefin tuna sashimi over rice). I wasn't impressed by it. The quality was just alright. The rice was a bit stale and the fish itself was fine but nothing special. For over $30 menu price I wasn't impressed. Wow, Fuji Sushi in Seattle's International District ("Chinatown") has been around for a while. All my years growing up here and I've never tried it. Its located next to a building for senior housing. Normally Chinatown is famous for dim sum, dinner banquets, and noodle soup. They had more Vietnamese options these days and always maintained Japanese places too. We came here without reservations for a party of five. Parking is limited of course, but head up the hill next to the restaurant and they're a pay lot on the left. Free validation for 2 hrs by QR code inside the restaurant. Inside. a huge, modern looking restaurant with both a sushi and alcohol bar. Plenty of tables on a Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised they offered free banchan (pickled Veggies, a Korean specialty) for everyone. For entrees, I recommend mix and match bento. Their teriyaki chicken, teriyaki salmon, and short rib are all delicious and cooked perfectly. They give a lot of tempura too, both shrimp and veggies. It was probably my first time seeing tempura okra, and it works. All crispy and not gooey. Definitely on my list for our next time back to Seattle. read more

You know, I am not exactly sure what about my experience felt off but from the moment we arrived to the time we left, I just wished I had chosen another sushi restaurant in Belltown. The environment and vibe was just off. Our server didn't do anything wrong, but the service was just off. The food was good but the environment and energy was off. The interaction from staff to customers really plays a significant role into the entire experience not just the quality of the food. Being engaged and attentive makes a huge difference. We were just there. They were just there and we happened to be eating. Just wasn't the vibe I wanted for $230+. 3.5 stars Fuji restaurant is a airy restaurant tucked away in Japantown. The interior is inviting and modern, and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We showed up with hungry bellies and a baby in a stroller on a Monday at 1pm. The hostess cleared off a table for us so that we could have more room in a quieter part of the restaurant, even though there were plenty of unoccupied tables. The same hostess also held the door open for us as we left. The food was ok. I'm not sure we'd go out of our way to go back. We had: tempura, chicken karaage, delux sushi, cherry blossom roll, lober volcano roll, and ultimate dragon roll. The tempura and chicken karaage was great! The sushi fell short. The seasoning was off, making much of the rolls a little bland. The rice also felt old- it was too hard and dry to be fresh rice, and it wasn't seasoned enough and couldn't stand up to the fish. Almost like the nigiri rice was formed in the morning, and then the fish plopped on top when the time came. It was really unfortunate because clearly the chef and owners put a lot of care and attention into the dishes. They were presented beautifully, but it just didn't taste as good as it looked. The Godzilla, killer salmon, and volcano lobster were the favorites. As a group of 5, I think Zuri was our server, her and the team gave us top tier service, and were helpful in recommendations. Great value sushi and sashimi in downtown Seattle. Street parking wasn't hard to find on a Tuesday night, but there is apparently also a lot in the back of the restaurant. Really extensive menu and many combo options. Honestly , there were so many choices amongst the sets it was SOO HARD to choose because everything looked so good. I got the dinner set with black cod and it did not disappoint. The cod was tender and so well cooked. The set came with a bunch of little sides, again, my indecisive nature has a hard time figuring out what to eat first. One of my favorite places to get sushi at! This was on a Sunday at around 7pm, and the place was packed with every seat filled. There was a half-hour wait for my party of 3 in this case, so come early. They do have parking validation if you don't want to deal with rough Chinatown parking. The inside feels like a modernized Japanese restaurant with a bar, tons of seating that was still packed, and several tatami rooms open for reservation. It's pretty bright inside here too. Their menu consists of various kinds of sushi and rolls, bento boxes, udon and even some Korean dishes, so my group and I had a lot to choose from. We got the killer salmon roll, the Godzilla roll and the volcano lobster roll (not pictured) as our main stuff, and added in some takoyaki as an appetizer. Takoyaki was hot and fresh, and was nicely arranged. The killer salmon roll was essentially a California roll with salmon but with the added effect of being set on fire prior to being served to our table. Same with the volcano lobster roll, which was my absolute favorite especially when I get to take video of it burning for the first time! And I stuck to just water for a beverage. ouch. with tax and 20% tip...just over $75. that's just for me a single person. I must admit, I am still not used to the cost of dining out in Seattle. The sit-down restaurant tax really stings. Take advantage of making online reservations if you go during peak hours. If not, I recommend going off peak. (nice light from the south during these winter months in the early afternoon). And if you want to get better bang for your buck, check out the happy hour menu. lastly, the service was friendly and attentive without smothering. The place is kind of rundown,old and a little dirty for a Japanese restaurant. Bathroom are a little smelly. We ordered salmon sashimi, which we ended up getting regular sushi. We ordered a couple rolls and we ordered a bento box and paid an extra two dollars for short ribs. The first salmon came out was very fatty. It had the fat on it. That's usually trimmed off of the sushi the raw had seaweed that was very chewy. It shouldn't be that chewy and the bento box had good tempura good rice but the ribs and the teriyaki beef were both very fatty.
