This ended up being kind of what we expected it to be. The decor and art was gorgeous. Lovely! They had a cool fire pit table in the middle that was cool. The service was fine. We were one of three tables and felt like the staff didn't really have eyes on us or the other tables. They came often enough but definitely on the slow side. It wasn't super clear to me what was gluten free since they had a lot of different sauces. My first few options didn't end up being gluten free, but I landed on spinach enchiladas. I found the enchiladas to be very odd. They had no cheese in them, just spinach mushroom onions. And barely any sauce. It was like a salad inside a tortilla. I wanted wayyy more cheese. My fiance got a burrito and it was half the size as the one at table next to us so he was bummed but said it was good. I would eat here in a pinch or if I was hungry coming back from the mountains, but I'm not rushing to go back. read more

Was looking forward to eating at Mi Tierra since we used to have one in Woodinville and it was one of my favorites. Looking at the menu, it was hard to tell if it was in fact the same family restaurant, so I opted for my usual cheese enchiladas. The food took a while to arrive, despite it being after the lunch hour and the place being relatively empty, and it was very bland. I'm not sure how to describe it other than the food tasted almost stale like my tortillas weren't fresh. I was so hungry I forced myself to eat it, I'm just hoping I don't regret this decision later. While all of us cleared our plates, none of us thought the food was especially good. It was very much "okay at best". I hate writing three-star reviews but if there was ever a three-star Mexican restaurant, this is it. Bummed about our experience and will opt for somewhere else along this drive next time. read more

Finding edible Mexican food in Washington State is usually a quest more difficult than finding a dry sidewalk in November. Most of the time, you're just paying for a lukewarm tortilla and a dream. Then I found Mi Tierra, and hope finally returned. First off, the ambiance is so authentic that I halfway expected a relative I've never met to walk out of the kitchen and ask why I haven't called. The place is decorated like a true Hacienda, and honestly, the décor does some heavy lifting--it's like the stucco walls and rustic charm trick your taste buds into believing you've just crossed the border, even if it's actually 40 degrees and raining outside. As for the food: it's spectacular. In a land where "spicy" often just means either "we added an extra grain of black pepper," or "we added uranium", Mi Tierra serves actual, authentic flavor. Whether it's the rich sauces or the well seasoned meats, eating here feels like a victory over the bland Mexican-food desert we call the Pacific Northwest. Best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable. You get a massive portion of "real-deal" food without having to sell a kidney or take out a second mortgage. If you want to stop eating "tacos" that taste like sadness and disappointment and start eating like you're on vacation, get yourself to Mi Tierra. This was our first time visiting here and it was amazing. First let's start with the service. They were friendly, they kept our drinks filled and were just overall awesome. The food, my wife says the chili Colorado was perfect. She even says it was by far the best one she ever tasted. My sons and I went for one of our favorites the Nachos. The nachos were full of flavor making me sorry I didn't come in as hungry as I normally would have. If I was to have any complaint, it would be that the size of the nachos felt slightly smaller than most other restaurants, but at the same time the price seemed a bit cheaper too. My brother really enjoyed his burrito but what really stood out across the table, was the salsa. We must have went through 6 different dishes of salsa and unlike lots of restaurants that offer free chips and salsa these dishes were decent sizes. Overall we are really excited to have discovered this place and are extremely thrilled with the service and food, especially the salsa. read more

Professional, friendly, reliable catering with great food! Our son arranged catering for his wedding from here, and Alex and Alexis brought it to our house on time, and set everything up. Alex made sure we had everything and all our questions were answered before they left. The food stayed warm, and the wedding guests loved the cuisine! Our daughter brought takeout from Mi Tierra, a place we'd never eaten at. There were CAMARONES APRETADOS, large prawns wrapped with bacon and served with cheese and chipotle sauce. CALIFORNIA BURRO, charbroiled skirt steak, whole beans and rice. Topped with sauce, guacamole, fresh pico de gallo and cheese, and MOLE POBLANO (Peanut Butter Version), fresh chicken breast specially prepared in their poblano salsa. We've been to many Mexican restaurants throughout the U.S. and we've never had dishes that tasted like these. The flavor was AMAZING, AUTHENTIC, and the portions are generous. We went to Mi Tierra on July 25, 2025. The food was delicious and service was good. What most impressed me, however, was how the staff responded when I lost a valuable diamond pendant that fell off my necklace while I was there. I didn't discover the loss until I got home. My husband called the restaurant and was told that the staff would look for it. We immediately hopped into the car to go back. When we got there, the restaurant was closed but the manager let us in anyway. She told us that she had looked all around our table, and then asked another staff member if she had seen it when cleaning. Yes, in fact, she had! She returned it to me and I am so grateful! Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday after spending some time at the fairgrounds. A fairly large menu but I settled on the Mexican Stir-fry and horchata. I was impressed by the serving size and overall flavor of the dish as a mound of grilled veggies and chicken was piled on top of a bed of rice. One of the better horchata I've had recently with lots of cinnamon added. I was also able to share the Camarones con Ajo and Queso Fundido appetizers with others at the table. Post hike food in Monroe -- this is a place that had no issues taking in a big group of dirty hikers in need of sustenance. I can't speak to most of the food as I just had a tortilla soup (meh), but the service was great -- including them helping us celebrate someone's birthday. Even though we've been through a pandemic and staffing shortages, Mi Tierra is nowhere near the quality they once had. From the combination menus, we noticed a huge difference. The food was not as flavorful and the tamales were very dry. The Margaritas were too sweet as well. The staff was nice, but they did not get our order correct. The place was empty on a Saturday afternoon, while down the street, El Paraiso was jammed packed. We'll try again in a few months... read more

Absolutely the worst Carnitas I've ever had! Cinco de Mayo should be great Mexican food. Very disappointed in the meal I had tonight.

I went here with my partner just over a month ago, most of the food was good besides the seafood enchilada which was very watery but the main issue was our server. She was very rude and direct with us, when we were just talking and enjoying each other's company she came up to us and asked if we were finished eating or just picking at our food. Mind you it wasn't close to closing time and we were there for less than an hour. I've been coming here for months and have had no problems but the comment she made was rude and uncalled for. read more

This restaurant (a sibling of the Woodinville location by the same name) is the best of the larger Mexican restaurants in Monroe. The large interior is nicely decorated and well maintained. This family is good at putting money back into its facilities to keep them looking good. They do it here and in Woodinville. It's a pleasant atmosphere to visit for a meal. The food is good, typical Mexican food for a US-based Mexican restaurant. It's a big step above the large chains (this is a family owned and operated restaurant), and it's tasty. That goes from the salsa (and other condiments) and chips to the entrees. If you've eaten at their Woodinville location, it's very much the same here. This is our go to restaurant for Mexican when we want something more than a taqueria. (Though the food at the taquerias is a bit better, but more limited in scope.) We'll be back. read more

This place was a gem of a find after a long day on the slopes. My group was hungry and in need of calorie replenishment and Mi Tierra was the perfect spot. Service was friendly and attentive, and our waitress kept the chips and salsa refilled (which were delicious btw- the chips tasted like they were made in house and even the "mild" salsa had a nice kick to it). I ordered enchiladas verde with chicken and really enjoyed it, pairing well with a strong margarita..I was stuffed and tipsy. My friend asked the waitress if they were still preparing Dungeness crab enchiladas and apparently they are a secret menu item that only a loyal Mi Tierra patron would even know about. She ordered them and was raving about how good the dish was the entire meal- stuffed to the brim with crab meat. I wish I had room for dessert, because judging by the entire meal, i wouldn't doubt that there wasn't a good sweet item to round up the evening with. But sadly, my pants were already unbuttoned and I had to call it quits. Please stop by here if you are in Monroe, you won't be disappointed. read more

About two weeks ago, we place a to-go order by phone and it was an incredibly difficult experience right from the start. I asked for a ground beef burrito and the young woman on the phone seemed unfamiliar with this request. She said there were different options and we asked for the most popular one. Basically, it was one of those conversations where you go around and around in circles even though you are asking for something very common at a Mexican restaurant. I'm not sure if she was a new employee, but not a good person to have answering the phone, and I'm sure they were far behind on their calls if all of them took as long as ours did. When I went inside to pick up the order and pay, my credit card was offered to another customer first who said it was my card. When we opened up the container to eat, there was a layer of oil on the top. My husband ate some of the food and said he didn't feel well all night. Typically, the food here is okay (bland, in my opinion), but my husband usually likes it and the price is very reasonable. This time, everything about it was terrible and my husband never wants to return. read more

It's decent Mexican food, and by that, I mean it's a notch up from the Ixtapa across the highway. It's not worth what they're charging for it, though. At their prices, I'd expect it to be as good as, say, Agua Verde or Cocina y Cantina in Seattle, and...it just ain't. Recently stopped in for some takeout. I used to come here every couple of months or so, before the Plague. Tacos al Carbon was among my favorites. And it always came with rice and a cup of whole beans sprinkled with cotija cheese. Not anymore; three tacos arrive a la carte, with a single slice of avocado (I recall there being at least one slice per taco, maybe even a little fanned wedge of avocado slices, in the before times), for $13. The asada meat was salty, dry and jerky-esque, though it did have some garlic and chili flavor. Also ordered a small chicken enchiladas verdes combo. Small combos are one item, for $13, but this does include very ordinary rice and ordinary refried beans, plus a spoonful of coleslaw. The shredded chicken breast in the little enchilada was as dry and flavorless as the shoe that Charlie Chaplin ate in "The Gold Rush." The tortilla might have been dipped in tomatillo salsa Verde, but they must have wrung out the last drop of sauce before filling the enchilada, for there was hardly a trace of sauce anywhere in the container. Just dry chicken, a greenish corn tortilla, and a lot of jack cheese. Out of curiosity, I checked to see how much it would have cost me to add the cup of beans and rice that used to come with Tacos al Carbon. Ten bucks, as you can see from the picture. $5 each for a spoonful of beans or rice. Honestly, amigos, your food's not good enough to be this skimpy with it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ read more
