Monroe, Washington, April 2026 This colorful building is located on the main street in downtown Monroe. The minute you walk in you are greeted immediately. An older gentleman and a younger guy were quick to tell us we could sit wherever we wanted as it was a Sunday evening. Booths line the wall and there are about four tables in the middle of the restaurant. Very small, but very colorful and extremely friendly staff. We were quickly asked for a drink order and they brought chips and salsa. The chips were a perfect thin yet crunchy texture. The salsa was very flavorful. It had chunks of onions and lots of cilantro. However, I wish the salsa was spicier. We both ordered chicken and beef enchiladas à la crema. The presentation was nice and I'm so glad there was no lettuce decorating my plate. My whole beans came in a little tortilla cup but the rice lacked flavor. It taste more like a puréed risotto. The enchiladas were covered in the cream sauce that also had cheese. There was no flavor to the cream sauce and the chicken was extremely dry. I liked the flavor of the whole beans. They don't give you a full basket of chips when you sit down. So we asked for more as they were delicious. But then we received only a quarter of a basket this second time. They don't post prices of the soda or the drinks. When we inquired to see a bar menu, they said they had none that we could order anything we want. We asked the price of a particular drink and he said don't worry. When I receive my bill, my non alcoholic bottle of Heineken was $7.25. I think that is outrageous for a nonalcoholic beer. I will give this place three stars because the chicken was tough and dry. The cream sauce was boring and the salsa needs spice. read more

Absolutely amazing spot for Sunday brunch! Everything we ordered was on point. My wife had the huevos rancheros, perfectly balanced, flavorful, and cooked just right. I went with the machaca (tender shredded beef with eggs), and it was incredible, super tender, rich, and packed with flavor. We also shared the garlic parm wings, which were crispy and addictive, and the chips & guac were fresh and done right. Our kid had a quesadilla and loved it. One of the coolest touches was the kids menu! it's interactive and even teaches them how to count to 10 in Spanish, which is such a fun and thoughtful detail. When we moved from Southern California to Washington, one of the things I missed most was authentic Mexican food. I tried a few spots around Bellevue, but honestly... nothing came close to what we had back home. Today, while driving toward Stevens Pass, I spotted this place and saw they had gluten-free options -- so of course, we had to stop and try it out. First impression: as soon as we walked in, I could smell the fresh cleaning solution -- and for me, that's always a good sign! The lady who greeted us was super sweet, and the young man who took our order was kind and polite. There was also a gentleman (maybe the owner?) who was incredibly welcoming. And the bathrooms? Spotless. Now let's talk about the food -- holy moly, it was GOOD. I ordered the steak fajitas with corn tortillas, rice, and all the yummy toppings. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. I also tried the cheese dip -- it was a little bland for my taste, but everything else more than made up for it. My husband ordered a seafood dish and was grinning from ear to ear the whole meal. This place was enjoyed today for lunch. We were boring and both got the Chile verde burrito that is offered on lunch for 11.75. The beans and rice were standard but good. The verde sauce was on the tangier side but not necessarily in a bad way. The chips were fresh and the salsa is mild but solid. We didn't get served the pico or bean dip, so maybe they don't do that anymore or it's just for dinner. You can get items such as salads, fajitas, arroz con pollo and carne asada at lunch prices which is nice. The lunch menu is extensive and we really appreciated that. Great first experience here for supper on our way home from Stevens Pass ski day. Greeted with a smile around 4:45 PM and fresh chips and salsa delivered quickly. I had the Arroz Con Polla and my wife the Super Nachos. See photos, but generous portions including extra chips when requested. The Cadillac Margharita and the house Margharita were both tasty. Note- double was only $1 more. The restaurant continued to fill while we were dining. From the 4 tables including our being filled upon arrival, all tables were filled and folks waiting outside for a table at 5:45 when we departed. Great food and not too spicy, so be prepared to add hot sauce or jalapeño if desired. We will definitely be back and now have a local Mexican Food favorite easily accessible in downtown Monroe only a couple blocks off of Highway 2. read more

We are the Owners of HAWAIIAN CONSTRUCTION LLC out of Monroe. We been going to Las Tres Maria's since they opened their doors for business. They have Excellent Authentic Mexican Food Dishes. But my best dush by far is the Beef Shank on Fridays and Saturdays. They serve that only on those two days. But believe me, i also eat alot of their other items if we give during the week too. My wife Julie, loves their Chicken Tostada Salad among other items too. But if we go there for a meeting or meet with family and even just a meal during the week, Las Tres Maria's is our go to spot in Monroe. Javier and Maria are a Beautiful Couple who bought the business few years ago. They are such a perfect match together running their Restaurant along with their children too. Great service with a smile, good value for the lunch special (variety, portion for the price, and mediocre flavors like every small town we end up in after hiking), and in the historic area of Monroe (off the main drag by a block). I have eaten there a few times now because it is easy for most hiking compadres and a reasonable price, but I think I'm over it after having a mediocre burrito and a blech chile relleno -- sauce tasted like it had soured. Price or not, it doesn't quite hit the spot and is one of the rare exceptions to my statement of "it's fairly hard to make Mexican food bad..." This isn't "bad" per se, but it isn't great. I'll still branch out and try new places after that last ick. Bottom line: Leaves much to be desired even when post-hike ravenous. read more

How nice that Monroe has such a solid Mexican restaurant. The staff is great! Great service with a warm attitude. The chips, salsas, and warm bean dip that arrive at the table are fresh and hard to stop eating. That bean dip is surprisingly good. I had the camarones a la Diablo, and I loved the spicy and smokey sauce and the mushrooms it contained. Everyone enjoyed their meals from a lunch combo to the fajitas to a burrito. We were too full to have dessert. But after walking around historic little Monroe and stopping in a few shops, we swung back and got churros to go. As a SoCal transplant, it is so hard to find good Mexican food in WA. This place is hands down the best. From the service, to the chips & salsa, meal, & churros. My son and I were in HEAVEN. I had chile colorado enchiladas and everything was fantastic. The beans had flavor, the rice was fluffy & the sauce was perfect. The soft/crunchy cinnamon-drowned churros were the perfect way to end our meal. My son said the guac was also incredible.
