How they dont have a full 5 star rating is shocking to me! Hands down THE BEST mexican in the area (maybe the world?) Hubs and I are never disappointed with service, food or ambience. Chips, light, fresh, crispy with a healthy dose of folded chips ( the best for scooping and crunch) Salsa, Pico dagallo....so good, incredible. Now to the entrees, always sooooooo fresh and delicious. I would seriously eat here once a week if we could afford to ( they kindly offer coupons online and in hometown values magazine on the regular) Just a wonderful delight in every way. Favorite dishes Burrito El Tapatio and Flautus ( but again anything you get is ridiculously good) LOVE THESE GUYS!! read more

Reviewing again but only because it's that good. I absolutely love their chili Colorado burrito, you can buy it as a side order for about $12. The meat is so tender and the sauce is just heavenly... The chips and salsa are fabulous. The refried beans are the best I've ever had and I have had a lot. My husband really loves their beef tacos and they're only $2.35 each or something. Often times we go just wanting a lite dinner and the side order menu is perfect for that. The servers are always very attentive and polite. The ambience is relaxed and comfortable. I just adore this place. It's my favorite Mexican restaurant in WA. And I was raised in Southern California with really good Mexican food. So often after work, I am too tired to cook, but I can dine out very affordably here and I really appreciate that! read more

I enjoyed coming here! My first impression of the outside was that it was going to be more of bar feel but inside it's small, nice and cozy. Great for families with kids. The service was very quick. We were seated right away. Food was brought out promptly as well. The food was delicious! Tasted fresh and has just the right 'sazon.' I'm not in this area often but I'd definitely recommend if you are. read more

Really disappointed, sadly. I ordered the cheese quesadilla for $16.50 which was supposed to come with tomato and onion and guacamole and sour cream. But it had none of that. It was a basic quesadilla with nothing.... I was not pleased. My partner got a shredded beef enchilada and beef tamale combo and said it didn't have much flavor. I wouldn't return. read more

El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant - 16.50 for this? - Mexican Near Me - Snohomish, Washington

The food was excellent--especially the wings with the smoked salsa, which were a pleasant surprise. The specialty drinks were also very good and definitely worth trying. Service was decent overall. The only downside was the noise level inside. On a Friday after 6:00, it gets pretty lively--great energy if you're looking for that vibe, but it can be a bit loud if you're hoping for a more relaxed, conversation-friendly setting. read more

Not keen on their payment method, a device is brought to the table and when you ask for receipt by email you encounter a problem. You must first register your address. Lunch is the best time to go. Definitely not dinner, which is more dear read more

I have been coming here since my elementary school years and nothing has changed. The service is great, the food is delicious and fresh and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I used to get the flautas religiously, then moved on to the tortilla soup, these days I am always between their molcajete or chicken chimichanga. Consistently delicious and recommend you give them a try! read more

Amazing Cadillac Margaritas, Carne Asada and the salsa is nice and spicy! I've eaten here at least 15-20 times...have no idea how they're only 3.7 stars. That's crazy work! They've got me coming back for my Mexican cravings. read more

Delicous food and they made my michelada just like i like it (extra lime, salsa maggi and tecate roja beer) 10/10

Not that good. Maybe at one point in years past but not anymore. $27 for a burrito and a diet coke. And the burrito contained barely any meat - it was mostly beans inside. They also make all their burritos "wet" style which just ends up being soggy and gross. This is an outdated, over priced Mexican restaurant serving very very basic dishes. read more

Honestly it's just good. Good value. Good service. Good food. It's exactly what you would hope to expect walking in.

The food was excellent. I'm surprised they're so low rated. Both my son and I eat all over the Northwest and in California I all sorts of Mexican restaurants and this was up there with some of the best. read more

The restaurant itself was very clean with a beautiful decor. We had our menus and water dropped off right away. The problem was that they were very short staffed. Once we got our menus, it took about 15 minutes for our waiter to come over and take our order. The food was okay, but we both ended up with a belly ache later in the evening. Once we finished up, it took another 10 plus minutes to have the waiter come and pick up our credit card. Between the slow service and not feeling well later, it will be a while before we come back. read more

We went with a group of friends last weekend. My friend insisted we come here because she loves their queso and vegetable fajitas. I ordered carne asada and the hubby ordered the fried fish. We both loved our meals. And when I tried my friend's queso - WOW. I will go back and order that every time. It was excellent. The chips and salsa were fresh and the service was fantastic. We will be back! read more

Really disappointed. Not only was it more expensive than some of the other Mexican joints we frequent, but they got my husbands order wrong... The fajitas were hands down the worst I've ever had! Had a very strong tomato paste flavor rather than fajita seasoning... We won't be back. read more

Street Tacos come with rice and beans. My first time trying this place was through Uber. Overall happy with the way it was packaged and portioned. I tried the Bbq Pastor, very nice flavor. The only downside was the meat tasted dry. The limes helped! I look forward to trying something else. They have lots of options and specials. read more

Unlike other yelpers, we had a WONDERFUL experience. Good food and service are important to us too and we thought everything was top notch! The chips and salsa/pico de gallo were craveable...it was devoured in no time. Thankfully, they offered refills. The menudo was filled with goodies and came with a good helping of lime, onions, cilantro, and corn tortillas. The two crisp beef taco really hit the spot stuffed with a good helping of ground beef, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese. Just wanted some classic tacos and it was perfect! For $2.45 each, that's a steal! My hubby really enjoyed his shrimp fajitas. Sizzling goodness and a good helping of sides! It was cooked perfectly not too greasy and it had amazing grilled flavor. I will for sure get that next time. It's $23.95. I like they had the large bottle size Mexican cokes. It was a family friendly quiet setting which we really enjoyed. The owner thanked us on our way out. We will be sure to come back!! read more

Delicious food! Arrived for lunch on a Friday and wasn't too busy. They offer pico and salsa with chips and there's no extra charge for more, unlike most restaurants in the area. Ordered off the lunch menu which is extensive and reasonably priced. The pollo a la crema was cooked perfectly. Best tortillas in the area by far. They were light and fluffy and delicious. We will be back! read more

The food is great and so are their drinks, Good service. Wish I still lived in Snohomish as I would go there on a regular basis.

This is our go to Mexican in town... and when I say "our"... I mean myself and all my girlfriends. We love their little bar. Service is great as is the food. I've never had anything there i didn't like and I will clear the entire plate if it's Carne Asada or a Chimichanga. read more

Excellent food & service! I tried this restaurant for the 1st time about 2 months ago. Highly recommend.

Looks like a chain, might actually be a chain, but doesn't necessarily suffer from the worst qualities of such a fate. It's a brightly lit place, with lots of fake plants and corny hand-painted ceramics everywhere. OK, that part feels pretty chain-like. The booths don't all look like the carpenter is quite finished yet. But it's clean and comfortable. The food is the usual modestly ambitious americanized mexican stuff. Brown rice, long-stewing refried, plenty of white and yellow cheese. Lots of peppers and white onions. But the ingredients were flavorable and seemed reasonably fresh. The house salsa was OK. No points here for anything scratch made (at all), and no points for adventurousness from the kitchen. But they give you dependable food at a reasonable value, and, given the setting, that's a good business model. Three stars for succeeding within those parameters. read more

I've read a couple of the "not so good" reviews on this place and some people are too perplexing... First off, if you order any of the standard americana style dishes, like taco salad, you don't know what real mexican food should be...On the other hand, most mexican joints in the states (99.9% of them) are ameican mexican food. But what makes this place special are their more authentic efforts on their menu... For example, carne asda y camarones(steak and shrimp basically).... My favorite! The best and most authenticly cooked Carne asada around! I'm from San Diego and understand real mex food... The food here is good across the board! But then again, im not sure what a taco salad is supposed to taste like so, in all fairness to that reviewer, i've never had one in Mexico... If they are busy, service might take a bit but if you want traditional tasting mex, it's worth the wait... They are very friendly people too... read more

Not ever worth the 1 star but can not post review without it. The worst damn service! The lady server never came to check on our table to see if we needed anything like refills! Left us empty on everything for awhile! Empty chips, salsa and drinks! Had to ask the busser for drinks and chips. The only time she was quick to our table was when we were done eating and with the check! I was more then pissed at the lack of service! The service was not the only thing that was bad. The food was not good, steak was burned, chicken beast was not cooked all the way it had a rubber texture and the asada was too salty. I'm Latino and I know my food, don't know what the good food reviews are about but it most definitely not! Will not be going there again. read more

His place is consistently delicious EVERY TIME. Been coming here for close to a year and it's quite frankly one of my favorite authentic Mexican food restaurants. Slow service the wait staff was not interested in serving us and the food didn't have much flavor

Ordered dinner from this place the other night when previous dinner plans fell through. They had a decent sized menu and multiple vegetarian options, I got the spinach enchilada's they were amazing, I would order them again, especially when I have the desire to be a fat kid. The man friend got a chicken burrito. He said it was good Mexican food, nothing special but for a quick take out meal it worked just fine. It took about 100 minutes for our food to be ready and indeed when I got to the restaurant 10 minutes later it was ready. They also had a decent selection of Mexican soda beverages. The one person I interacted with was not overly pleasant but tolerable. For what it was it great, we will likely order from them again on a crazy work night. read more

I ordered the Beef Enchiladas La Crema to go. It looked delicious when I opened it. I was really surprised how bland it was. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. Way over priced. I ordered a bloody Mary it was over $7.50 and had no garnishes at all which is part of the fun of the drink. My daughter ordered her meal with no guacamole and thought it would come with sour cream. It was served with guacamole but no soir cream so she asked for some and was charged $2 for it. Seriously? We were never asked if we wanted another drink or anything else. read more

Popped in once last summer for a margarita on the patio. Stopped for lunch today. Met at the door with a smile, seated and greeted quickly. Fast, friendly service and food was delish.
