CHILAQUILES ROJOS
Betty A.

Delicious Mexican food the service was really good you get greeted with fresh chips and a mild homemade red salsa. Once orders have been placed you get a choice of homemade soup to go along with your entree. I got the menudo but it's only tripe no hominy is given. Husband got the chilaquiles with guajillo red sauce and grandpa got a big burrito with beef tongue there were no complaints and will be back soon!

The reviews were right! I'll be brief, the Molcajete was FANTASTIC, meats were to die for, prawns were SCRUMPTIOUS and the sauce was YUMMY and spicy! Also got the Quesa Birria plate (because the reviews were great on these too) and they were AWESOME! Meat was great, Consume was FANTASTIC!! Definitely going there again, going to use up my limit of Groupons!!! Then have my wife but some!!! Bought the $100 one, and used all of it plus some on 2 meals and 4 Cadillacs, which were very SATISFYING as well!!! Service was fantastic too!!!

Burrito verde with pastor

I found my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! Flavor, flavor, flavor! I have found a lot of other restaurants to be bland - but this place has flavor in spades. The atmosphere is decent and the wait staff proved great service. I had the Burrito Verde Suiza with pastor. Highly, highly, recommended!

LENGUA TACOS COMBO (L)

I ordered takeout last Friday for dinner we've been here before so I wanted to try something different which turned out to the Three Mariners Enchiladas plus my usual three Lengua street tacos. Both meals included beans and rice and a chicken soup. Now the enchiladas come with shrimp, scallops, and calamari rolled up in flour tortillas covered with a verde crème sauce it was so delicious I finished it without getting a picture oops sorry, the three proteins were cooked but not over cooked. The sauce was a little spicy but not hot. I did get one of the street tacos which were so good as well. The rice and beens round a nice meal. Service wise my order was ready when my wife arrived and nothing was left out so no complaints. They've been consistent with their quality I recommend them to anyone.

Piña Colada and Seahawks Margarita. Excellent scratch-made cocktails!

In short Family-style place with lots of familiar items on the menu, all made exceptionally well with fresh ingredients. They're justifiably known for their carne. In long We were headed north for a leisurely drive with another destination in mind for lunch, and I-5 traffic reared its ugly head. It so often does. Waze routed us through town, and our ETA never got any closer, so we ended up stumbling straight into a place we now feel silly for not noticing sooner. They've been here a couple years already. They're in a little old house that's kinda easy to drive by and just not notice, but it's worth a stop to say the least. They have tons of parking right outside, which not every place on Broadway can say. You walk across a concrete patio, then you actually have to turn the doorknob to step inside, so it has a quirky combination of business and residential touches before you even get in. Inside, 3 dining rooms seat probably 20-24 people each, separated by low dividing walls. It's easy to imagine this place getting swamped for the dinner hour and on Sundays. Service is quick and friendly, and it'll probably help if you don't push the 5-cent English words too much (more on that in a second). We knew they had a crazy breakfast menu all day, including some American dishes, but we were here very much to see what the traditional Mexican stuff was about. We had chips and salsa right away, with some awesome smoky, spicier salsa showing up on request a minute later. We got a Piña Colada and a Seahawks margarita after a couple minutes. The marg has curaçao in it to change the color. Both were clearly made from scratch mixes with more sourness to the marg and sweet creaminess to the Piña Colada that just won't come from a bottle off the shelf. We each got carne asada; one plate with chilaquiles and one with spicy shrimp. The chilaquiles plate comes with 2 eggs as well, and is only $15. The shrimp combo was worth it at $27 (you get a bit bigger steak on that plate). The carne is amazing. Great fresh grilled flavor, and so much thicker than most places serve it. Seemed more like a flatiron steak than a skirt. At least 1/4" thick and perfectly medium rare. The chilaquiles had great crispness still intact around the edges--even taken home and re-heated the next day, they still had more crunch than most places can get to the plate at first service. So good. The shrimp had tons of flavor along with the heat in the diabla sauce. Everything on each plate was in amazing shape--guac, rice, beans, extra salsas (not exactly like the ones served with the chips), it all worked together and added something to the meal. At one point we were joking about spices and margaritas on the table, and our absolutely awesome friendly server misunderstood and thought we wanted another drink. So we "ordered" a jalapeño margarita that turned out to be delicious. One of the happiest misunderstandings I've had in a while. So I'd keep sentences short and clear and make sure nobody feels self-conscious about their English vocab, unless you're like me and don't mind hanging out an extra few minutes if you accidentally order something more.

Mole poblano
Xavy M.

This place is absolutely amazing. Simple (in a good way) restaurant with AMAZING FOOD. The mole poblano is 5 out of 5 stars. I would honestly give it higher....it was that damn good. Also ordered the tacos de birria. Absolutely solid and would also recommend. Please take time to come here. It's worth it

GRAN MOLCAJETE

This place was great! The Gran Molcajete for 2 was amazing. So big that it will be a meal for 2 at least twice with all the great leftovers. It included perfectly cooked steak, chicken, two kinds of shrimp, sausage, nopolo, cheese, and probably more that I can't remember all grilled to perfection and served in a sizzling caldron with a delicious slightly spicy sauce. Service was helpful and friendly. Our waiter told us that her mom is the cook. Well, her mom is an incredible cook! Great family run place! Delicious salsa too. We're looking forward to trying the birria next time we're there- and there will definitely be a next time real soon.

Quite place great music playing. Friendly staff, knowledgeable about the menu. Food was phenomenal. Coming from San Diego where mexican food is great this place can hold its own. Quality, taste and choices. Will definitely be back.

Queso Birria's.
Jason K.

To be honest, the venue is really cool on the inside, but the outside is just ok. Could definitely need a face lift. The servers are awesome, super friendly and nice. This place probably has the best Queso Birria's I have ever had. They are cooked to perfection and the consume sauce is outstanding. The rice and beans are exceptional as well. We will definitely be back.

Homemade corn tortilla

Very nice family feel, excellent menu choices, high quality food and delicious! It's worth a trip, even if you're not local. Super cute decor, friendly service. Love the vibe here. I don't live in Everett but I'll be back and worth the 45 minute drive! Plenty for carnivores and vegans alike. I ordered carne asada medium rare, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Came with side of rice and beans, grilled green onions, and small bag of chips with delicious homemade salsa! Oh and choose the homemade soft corn tortilla .. yumm!!

Food was ok. It took literally almost half an hour to get our food. There was only 2 other patrons.

In short Clean, bright, friendly family-style Mexican place…read more Full bar, plenty of TVs. In long I definitely miss the awesome Thai place that used to be here, but Luna offsets that nostalgia. They're doing a great job. There's a cool courtyard, with iron fencing and gating that seems to suit the Mexican decor even better than it did the previous tenant. There's a good-sized winding dining room indoors too. Brightly-colored paint, nice matching tables and chairs, some big screens probably tuned to the game. Service is right on point, cheerful and low-key, ready to make you feel right at home. You get a menu right away, water with chips and salsa in a minute or two. The drink menu isn't the main focus, but you get basic versions of most anything. I had a Luna Margarita with lots of fresh fruit in there--even had to clear the straw at one point. The chips and salsa are generic. Just pico and tomato sauce stirred up. Would be nice to see them make something in house, but not too many places do that (fewer than you might think). The carne seems to be the star of the show, and it was tasty. Ordered medium and came out closer to well, but still fully tender and juicy. Tortillas were fine, the roast corn and scallions were good, and the rice and beans held up their end of the bargain. Little bit of guac and fresca in the middle of the plate. They're working hard for your Mexican food dollar, and if you're anywhere nearby, they're easily worth a stop.

She took us to the back which featured a bar area and twinkling lights on the ceiling! Loved the plants and decors on the wall. Our server was so attentive and kind! Me and my girl friend's husband ordered the Mar Y Tierra, thinly cut steak with garlic shrimp and mushrooms on the slide with rice, refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and choice of corn or flour tortillas! The steak was my favorite -- so juicy, tender and flavorful! They have a great variety of drinks! I got the watermelon basil margarita. They also have Jarritos soda which, my girl friend tried the guava and it was good! You have to get here before peak or you may not get a parking spot. They do have parking at the back but I bet if it's a peak night, it'll be crowded. We will definitely be back next time!
