a taco and a drink on a table
    Peggy R.

Can we seriously talk about how awesome this establishment is!?! An amazingly full menu, there are tortas, tacos and tortillas! It's a bright oasis on an otherwise dreary highway 99. There are so many little taco joints all around Everett, I feel this is a place that deserves a try. Once you walk through the door, you are greeted by a brightly lit feast feast for the eyes! The first thing I noticed was the display of packaged treats, which included cookies, and snacks and chips from the owner's home region. Those cookies always call to me, "we want in your belly." I got a bit off-track talking about cookies (a squirrel moment brought to you by mah belly). So, let's get back on track! The menu has a HUGE selection of tortas, with selections as simple as ham and cheese to the festival in the mouth Cubano. But, there are also a very generous selection of tacos, burritos, flautas and so much more. I want to feature the most recent handful of heaven I recently ordered. It was called a Chilanga Torta! It delivered! I have an onion allergy, so I skipped those, and also skipped the avacado, because I think they're icky (personal preference; I'm not making any kind of statement about this establishment's avacados). Everything was excellent, from the bread to the perfectly cut hot dog sausages. A literal fiesta in my mouth! I definitely have a Torta addiction that I shall feed with these pockets of perfection!!

Two words: HUITLACOCHE QUESADILLA. This is the *only* place I know of that serves huitlacoche, a black fungus found on corn that tastes a bit like mushrooms. I had all but given up on finding huitlacoche in Washington. The last time I had it was YEARS ago during a trip to Reno where my husband introduced it to me. Imagine my surprise when we were at the counter and i heard him order a huitlacoche quesadilla! I ordered 2 chicken flautas (you can choose 3 if you like) and we both got a champurrado. (Champurrado is also not always easy to find.) As others have mentioned, this place has an extensive menu and there's also a separate part of the restaurant that serves fruit, juices, and batidos/liquados. It always seems to be busy with families and workers who stop in for meals. The workers are friendly and their food is well made. The huitlacoche is delicious, umami goodness, and the flautas are perfectly crunchy on a bed of shredded lettuce and sour cream. I wasn't as impressed by the champurrado because it was a bit on the thin side, but I'd still buy it for a champurrado fix on a cold day!

Love the Authentic Mexican food flavor. Prices are affordable and I can take my family here to eat.

    1) The quesadillas are better than the tacos IMO; I think they might be the specialty dishes. 2) It's the only Mexican joint I know of around here with huitlacoche on the menu. 3) I'm not an expert on menudo, but I enjoyed it very much. The tripe (not to be confused with tripas) wasn't gamey and the tendons were so good in that spicy broth! The broth was a bit too spicy, though, for me. 4) The tacos de tripas were OK. They are the crispy kind, which some of you love; I prefer the slightly crispy tripas, so...

I come here at least once a week for my freshly squeezed clean juice. Always fresh and great service

Very authentic. Very delicious. We were the only white and korean person in the entire place, which was awesome. We brought in the crowds too. There was only one table when we arrived but within 20 minutes there were 5 or 6. Our irritant was that the prices on their menu weren't right so the items we ordered were quoted as like $3 cheaper than what we got charged. Really lame. They play Spanish music and Spanish soap operas. Loved it. You order at the front counter (prepare yourself because most of the menu INCLUDING the food descriptions are in Spanish) and then go sit down at whatever table you choose. There is a little bar in the middle of the large room with sauces for your pleasure. One of them was so delicious, I drenched my food in it. Husband got Tortas filled with tons of meat and loved it. I got chicken flautas which were good but very dry. Next time after brushing up on my Spanish I will order something with more fillings. But we will return.

Delicious authentic food! Their birria quesadillas are so good! The pricing is excellent because they give a big amount of food.

In short Clean, bright, friendly family-style Mexican place…read more Full bar, plenty of TVs. In long I definitely miss the awesome Thai place that used to be here, but Luna offsets that nostalgia. They're doing a great job. There's a cool courtyard, with iron fencing and gating that seems to suit the Mexican decor even better than it did the previous tenant. There's a good-sized winding dining room indoors too. Brightly-colored paint, nice matching tables and chairs, some big screens probably tuned to the game. Service is right on point, cheerful and low-key, ready to make you feel right at home. You get a menu right away, water with chips and salsa in a minute or two. The drink menu isn't the main focus, but you get basic versions of most anything. I had a Luna Margarita with lots of fresh fruit in there--even had to clear the straw at one point. The chips and salsa are generic. Just pico and tomato sauce stirred up. Would be nice to see them make something in house, but not too many places do that (fewer than you might think). The carne seems to be the star of the show, and it was tasty. Ordered medium and came out closer to well, but still fully tender and juicy. Tortillas were fine, the roast corn and scallions were good, and the rice and beans held up their end of the bargain. Little bit of guac and fresca in the middle of the plate. They're working hard for your Mexican food dollar, and if you're anywhere nearby, they're easily worth a stop.

She took us to the back which featured a bar area and twinkling lights on the ceiling! Loved the plants and decors on the wall. Our server was so attentive and kind! Me and my girl friend's husband ordered the Mar Y Tierra, thinly cut steak with garlic shrimp and mushrooms on the slide with rice, refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and choice of corn or flour tortillas! The steak was my favorite -- so juicy, tender and flavorful! They have a great variety of drinks! I got the watermelon basil margarita. They also have Jarritos soda which, my girl friend tried the guava and it was good! You have to get here before peak or you may not get a parking spot. They do have parking at the back but I bet if it's a peak night, it'll be crowded. We will definitely be back next time!
