I initially came in here as a delivery try courier for UberEats, and as I was waiting for the food-- I spoke with the man up front (not sure if he's the owner), and he told me they have the most authentic Mexican food in town; I told him I'd have to come in some time and check them out! I came in the next day to try my go-tos: * taco de lengua * taco de birria (con queso) Both were both delicious! The lengua was cooked to perfection *chefs kiss*, and the birria was nice & tender-- perfect meat to cheese ratio-- accompanied by a flavorful consume that was the right consistency for dipping; overall the food was light (not heavy feeling) & just right. I got the Birria meal at El Nopal last fall. It's been months (we usually cook at home) and I have been absolutely craving the Birria tacos and the consommé they come with this entire time. It's THAT GOOD!!! I finally had the opportunity to stop by on my way home last week, and it was just as tasty as I had remembered. The consommé is the right amount of light, savory, salty, goodness. Loved it! The best Birria tacos I've had in this area so far. The consommé was perfect. The plate comes with three tacos, rice, and beans and a can of soda for $16.75. We also tried a couple pastor tacos and they were equally delicious. I might skip the rice and beans next time and just get more tacos, haha! We also really enjoyed the Horchata. I'm not totally sure, but I got the feeling that this is a one man show. The man working there was very helpful and kind. He took our order, disappeared to the back, reappeared with our food and then came to check on us. The restaurant was clean and probably his Pride and Joy. Came because of a tik tok I seen. Food was way under seasoned. Carne asada fries had barely any meat and was mostly sour cream,cheese and tomato, maybe I'm used to how rallibertos across the street makes them which are fire. Delivery review It's easy to see why these guys are so popular. We've ordered from them several times over the last few years, and last night fed 4 of us with a decent-sized order. Salsa Both green and red are good, 50 cents is a fair price, and I love that you can just add multiple to your order, even on the apps. The green is a little creamier and sweeter, and the red one is distinctly chipotle. Very smoky, nice little moderate kick to it. Definitely worth adding to the order. Drinks They seem to have ever Jarritos I've ever seen anywhere. Asada Tacos Not the most-interesting choice you can make for the proteins, but a popular choice for good reason. These are solid, flavorful tacos. Tortillas get super soft by the time a delivery order gets to your house but that's to be expected. Pretty decent portion for a street-style taco. Birria Tacos A little bigger, a little softer (due to the moisture content of birria), and very good with the consomme. These folks don't make the absolute best birria up here, but it sure is good. Consomme A little thicker and saltier than some other places but super delicious and appetizing. Asada Sopes These disappeared so fast none of the rest of us got a bite. Good dish with good flavors, according to the kid who devoured them. Birria Quesadilla Good flavor, nice corn notes showing through from the tortilla, very solid filling which worked well with the consomme. Totchos These were a hit. Pretty big portion, tough for the kiddo to finish. Soft tots with a little crisp on the edge. Gotta be a great drunk snack late night. Asada Nachos The only real disappointment. We had so much food that nobody went hungry, but these were good for just a couple bites. Super stale ingredients. This place has been a go-to for all of us separately and now together. We have a wealth of choices for Mexican food up here, and even holding your own in the rotation of all these spots is good work. These folks definitely take care of business. read more

Just literally had my 1st bite of the birria taco with cheese and omg it's really really good! The meat is flavorful but super tender and the tortilla it's in makes it even better. The consomé is legit and 100% amazing, the salsa roja is good but my favorite is the salsa verde! It's got a bit of sweetness and slightlyness to it but at the same time the heat kicks in and pleasantly lingers in your mouth adding to the taste and amazing experience. The Horchata is definitely a must as well!! The entire menu is good- but the birria fries and tots are my wife and I's comfort food- almost too good.

Had the birria plate and it was wonderful. The meat was tender and sitting in a broth with so much depth of flavor I left none behind. Soak bits of the tortillas and load them up with the beef and your tongue will beg for more. My only mistake was not adding a bit more of the cilantro and onions, but meh. Great service! I was curious about the tacos árabes, since it isn't a very popular dish outside the central region of México. The taco was a bit smaller than expected, but super tasty, and with a very generous amount of meat. (Ate it too fast to get a photo). I also got a mulita de birria, and holy cow it was delicious. I love Birria! I fell in love with it when I was at my friends family gathering years ago where her mom is an amazing cook. I love beef and I love broth. I got tacos (al pastor and carne asada) for my husband which were as standard as anywhere else, but for ME I got the mullitas birria and it was decadent! Tender shredded chunks of beef sandwiches between crispy tortillas is heaven. And that side of birria broth, to dunk it in and slurp and douse yourself with....we will leave it at that. read more

A Mulitas de Birria is what I ate on my first visit to El Nopal. I have no idea what a Mulitas de Birria is and apparently, the woman who helped me was not very adept at describing one. After eating it, I looked on Youtube at videos of what one has the potential to be. The one I consumed fell short. It was very thin and had no discernable cilantro or green onions in with the tasty shredded mystery meat. There was some kind of melted white cheese. Oddly, if you wanted yours without the cheese, it was an additional dollar. HUH? The consumé was delish, but there was no point in dipping the thing in it because it was fried and wouldn't absorb a drop of the consumé. I'd like to have a 55 gallon drum of their consumé! It was the best part of my order. There were some sautéd white onions tossed into the box...scant few. I have no idea why they were not inside my Mulitas de Birria? Slimy onions are not exactly finger food. It came with a plastic knife and fork. My skinny Mulitas de Birria laughed at them. It was one tough cracker!! Not caving to this dilemna, I picked the thing up and ate it like a toasted cheese...pouring salsa on it...bite by bite...and sipping the tasty consumé in between bites. I was supplied with one napkin...which turned-out to be totally inadequate for the method I used to attack my Mulitas de Birria. Messy! Two really small plastic containers of thin salsa came with it. One red...one green. They were good...but sadly, not much heat. I liked my first ever Mulitas de Birria. However, I now know that it could have been waaaaayyy better...chubbier and with more ingredients Basically, it was the Dick's Burger of Mulitas de Birria...and it did not remotely resemble the photo on the counter depicting what I ordered. Would I order it again? Not a chance! However, based on my first somewhat disappointing experience, I'm not giving-up on El Nopal. I definitely want to explore their menu. I was famished and they fed me. There were no dismal after effects. YAYYYY! That's my report. Buon appetito, ragazzi!!! read more
