Obviously a family owned business. Had a group of 7...and our first time to Everett. Everyone there was super friendly, and funny. Food was excellent. Chips were served with beans and salsa. Delicious! Split a 3 item combo with one of the kids in our group: chicken enchilada, a chicken tostada and a tamale. Since it was happy hour, I went for some drinks and tacos--the specials and options were surprisingly affordable. We arrived at El Paraiso late on a Friday night about 8:30pm. With the several not-yet-cleared table in sight, they must have had a busy night. Good for them. They cleared a table for us, and we were promptly seated afterwards. The place visually looks like most Mexican restaurants do - festive! Our service was cordial. The Food: El Paraiso Steak, $22.95 - 3 Stars Menu: Sliced skirt steak with green and red peppers, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and jalapeno peppers sauteed in our special sauce, with guacamole, tortillas, rice, beans This sounded like it should be good. Visually, it looks about the same as most other Mexican dishes. The beef was a bit chewy. The flavor is "normal", meaning kind of taste like the typical tomato-y, garlic, veggies stir-fry. We can't taste what might be the special sauce. Anyway, not bad, not special, either. Mariscos a la Diabla $22.95 - 3 Stars Menu: Choice of shrimp, scallops, or fish sauteed in our specialty spicy sauce served with onions and mushrooms. Garnished with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and our house dressing Diabla is my standard order at all Mexican restaurants. Theirs has a murky tomato look instead of a vibrant tomato red. The flavor lacked spiciness and a certain sharpness that would clear my sinuses. The waiter looked at me and said he can't eat that; it's too spicy. I said it's not spicy at all! I should have asked for hot sauce at that point. Having the option for scallops or fish is a nice differentiation. This dish is normally with shrimps only. read more

After a day of shopping in Marysville, we decided to stop by, and I'm so glad we did! The service was fantastic, and the food was even better. I ordered the fried tacos, while my husband opted for a different dish (both were delicious). The atmosphere is inviting, with charming decor that adds to the experience. Manuela took care of us, and she was absolutely wonderful--attentive and kind. We started with complimentary chips and salsa, but be warned: the food here is so good that you'll want to save room! The tacos came with rice and beans, and everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The menu offers great variety, and the prices are reasonable. Two of us ate for $50 (without drinks), which felt like a great value considering the quality. Note: pico de gallo is extra, but it's worth it! If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. She expertly rolled them up with some butter and salsa and we happily munched on them as we were seated. My son gobbled up the complimentary chips with salsa and bean dip and my husband and I both ordered the carne asada y mas. I did a beef enchilada with mine, while my husband went with chorizo. Super busy tonight but still a good experience. Food was out quickly and everything was tasty. Hubby ordered a massive burrito which he enjoyed and I got the enchiladas mole (also good). The kids chicken strips and fries were a bit sad but this is also a Mexican restaurant and I don't don't them for that. Drinks were strong and delicious. It's fairly loud but actually quite cozy. My jalapeño Margarita is a run down version with more jalapeños and barely any tequila. The food was ok-ish.My veggie chilerellano is only stuffed with cheese and no vegetables. FENOMENAL. First time I came in it was an absolute experience. Before I even entered I could see from outside the window that there was a lady making FRESH tortillas. I was greeted with one of these fresh tortillas wrapped in some sauce (I have no idea what it was but it was fabulous). The decor is absolutely beautiful. No boring modern minimalist decoration. Colorful, beautiful, fun and just a pleasant experience to dine in. Food was delicious (I had carne asada) and at a great price too. Visiting the area to hiking the Northern Cascades when I came across El Paraiso's. This place serves some seriously delicious authentic Mexican food. I knew it was going to be good when I was handed a freshly rolled tortilla upon walking in. Fresh chips and salsa are also complementary when ordering a dish. I ordered the shrimp burrito. In short: Good food, great vibes, incredible bar program. In long: These guys are one of the several family-style Mexican places up here that have expanded into a mini-chain. Each spot gets super busy. They're not just family-style for customers, either--there's a huge clan of brothers and sisters running the whole operation, and probably quite a few other relatives on staff, too. The Everett one is near-ish to the arena, with street parking and plenty of other businesses bustling all through here. There's a little sidewalk patio and then you're inside to a tiny waiting area. They have fully packed as many tables and chairs in here as they can, so no space is wasted for standing room at the door. What they DO have just inside the door is a small stand where they're heating up fresh tortillas and adding a bit of butter and salsa. Complimentary! They're delicious, too. The bar is similar to the dining room in having booths and tables crammed together so they can accommodate the crowds. Even a bit before the dinner rush yesterday, every seat was already taken, and I'm sure things got busier from there. They've fully embraced the Silvertips here--signed jerseys, beer signs, other memorabilia. I love it. The Tips are in the playoffs right now, but there was no game last night, and the place was STILL packed. You know it just bumps all the time here. We started with a couple margs. They are justifiably well-known for their bar program. They have hundreds of tequilas and mezcals, plus dozens and dozens of whiskies, too. The margarita list takes up a big page on the table. We had the tamarind and the jamaica (smoky mezcal, not rum), and both were fantastic. Margs are well priced here but a pint glass full of ice leaves little room for the actual drink, so it's a very solid value if not a screaming deal. I also had a mezcal flight, even though they were super busy (I couldn't resist). Nice one, and now I want to come back when I can catch the bartender and talk through some pours. Maybe mid-afternoon some weekend. Ceviche (with shrimp...definitely not tilapia) Tons of flavor, great consistency, awesome heavy chips. Fresh veg. Easily recommended, and a huge portion for the price. Mexican Pizza Another incredible value price off the appetizer list. Huge tortilla covered with really tender and flavorful carne, plenty of cheese and olives. Somewhere between an actual pizza and extremely-well-organized nachos. These two plates could easily have filled us up. We left 3 slices of pizza. Carne Asada Same meat as on the pizza--excellent. Nice soft chewy tortillas, good guac. Everything you want. They don't use lard in anything here, so you might notice a bit lighter taste and a bit less umami (especially in bean dip and refrieds). I fully enjoyed this; you could maybe say it's like a 1%-different craving than lard-based cooking at other spots. Everything here has flavor aplenty and the more-healthful approach definitely has its place in my rotation. Service here was right on point throughout; we never waited for anything. Prices are excellent--tons of stuff on the menu here is a bargain compared to similar places. Dig hot sauces? Ask for the habanero and tomatillo house salsas. They sell them to go, too. We went through a ton at the table and took some home, too. read more

There are things that I like here. Their bug juice margaritas are not one of them ... terrible. Lots of very sweet green juice, very shy on tequila. When I mentioned to the older waitress She told me $19. for a double. Not spending over $50 for Mexican food. before tip. It is also noisy. Upside; they offer you a freshly made tortilla when you walk in the door. Delicious. Besides that, the food is decent. Popular with the Everett crowd and always seems to be busy. read more

We stopped for a late lunch today and ordered the tres Chile's and a combo plate of a bean burrito and tostada. We were served chips with salsa and bean dip. The bean dip was so thinned down it dripped like water off the chips. Same can be said for the chipotle crema I ordered with my meal. I assume it's watered down to save in cost but man. Disappointed. The meals themselves were just bad, specially for the price. The chile Colorado had no flavor ans the beef was dry. The chile verde had some flavor but the prok was farty and gross. Our 2 meals with one soda and tip came to $60. Within the hour both of us had that bubbly gut feeling that had us wanting to get home asap. Just bad overall. Staff was friendly. read more

I would love to say that this restaurant packs a good taste. the menu has a couple of I have to go back for. They have a Lobster Bisque that shames New England states. Starting with the chips and salsa (Hot so I asked for Mild). The hot made my forehead sweat. Then we had the nice Rib Eye Steak since we were late in the evening for the Prime Rib. We had so much to eat we couldn't fit in a dessert. The staff was wonderful and fast. I couldn't believe how hard they worked to make everything so enjoyable. One Host stood out as she literally ran circles in the dining room. She was fast, friendly and courteous with us.
