Ordered three dishes for three people. My street steak tacos came out as ground beef tacos -- not even close to what I ordered. When I called to tell them the order was wrong, the person who took my order argued with me. Not apologizing. And also not fixing and just put the phone down. That turned out to be the smaller problem. Later that same day, two of the three people who ate the food were sick -- food poisoning, diarrhea, the works. I happened not to finish my plate, which is probably the only reason I wasn't down with them. I had to go out and get medication for people I care about because of a meal that was supposed to be a nice afternoon out. I brought the uneaten food back to the restaurant. The manager -- who told me he was the owner -- looked at it, heard the whole story, and offered nothing. No apology that landed, no replacement, no refund, not even a gesture. Just stood there. Wrong order, sick guests, hostile staff on the phone, and an owner who doesn't think any of it warrants a response. Spend your money somewhere that cares whether you walk out healthy. read more

Finally getting around to updating my review of Tampico, this Mexican Restaurant is a convenient and consistently above average choice when my family decides to order from here. Tonight I went with the Crab Enchilada and as usual it was a Togo order you get the standard beans and rice as your sides and they don't disappoint moist and flavorful rice and the beans aren't too thick or thin "just right" someone once said. The sauce that covers the enchilada isn't overpowering which is nice cause crab is a mild flavor but because you get a large portion of crab you can still taste it. We'll keep coming back and enjoy trying new items like tonight's for me. read more

I moved to the PNW in 2003 and I said what do we do out here and people said go to Tampico for your bday let them put a sombrero on you and sing to you and eat fried ice cream. This is one of my boyfriend's families go-to spots and I join them there from time to time. It's not in the best area. There is parking but I would be careful with what you leave visible in the car. The inside is so fun. Lots of decor and personality to it! The staff is amazing. We do feel like family there and love that they are so funny with us, but still so helpful. They are great at helping me pick a gluten free dish, and also great at putting sombreros on people for their birthday. We always end up laughing and having fun with our servers. Two dishes that stand out to me are the shrimp enchilada and the garlickly shrimp dish (can you tell I love shrimp). The portions here are LARGE and come with generous toppings and sides, so I always pick something that will make good leftovers. The margaritas are also strong and fabulous. I love this place! We tend to go here for team lunches and there is a reason why. The service is usually really friendly and the food is just really tasty. The menu is vast and you are spoiled for choice. Also, the atmosphere is traditional and cozy. There is also a wood fireplace in the back room so I love sitting back there in winter. We've been going to Tampico for almost 25 years. We love the food, the staff and the ambience. Very rarely have we missed a Friday night (other than the COVID era). My husband gets 1 of 3 entrees and he loves them all. There are so many that I like. The margaritas are great. When we first started going, we'd get an appetizer, an entree each and 2 margaritas each. As we've gotten older, we're down to an entree each and we take half of that home. Our digestive systems will only allow the green salsa now, no more red salsa for us (sad face) and 1 margarita each. The next day we combine our leftovers in a bowl, add Fajitas seasoning, chicken broth and heat through. We divide the mixture into two flour tortillas, add fresh shredded lettuce, green onions, tomatoes, shredded cheese, salsa and sour cream and voila - we have a Macho Burrito for lunch! read more

The guacamole was like 1/2 old and they tried making it green by adding a fresh avocado I think, it tasted awful! The rice and beans were dry and old tasting. My wife and I met my bestie and her son at Tampico for a drink and light bite. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Complimentary chips, salsa and salsa Verde is served while perusing the menu. The chips were light and warm. The salsa had good flavor but lacked heat. I'm not a fan of salsa Verde and Tampico didn't change my mind on that. Draft beer is not served at Tampico, only bottles. Happy Hour specials and Taco Tuesday specials are not offered at Tampico. Displeasing. Bottles of Modelo and Dos Equis were $4.95 each. Steep. A serving of Chile Jalapenos (qty 6) was $2.50. Reasonable pricing. We shared the Chicken Taquito appetizer for $14.25: flour tortilla stuffed with shredded chicken and cheese. Rolled and crispy fried. Garnished with lettuce, tomatoes, cotija cheese, sour cream and guacamole. The taquitos were standard and what one would expect to find at any other Mexican restaurant. Our server was cold and couldn't even attempt a fake smile. Overall, I think Tampico is overpriced with average tasting food. In all honesty, the lack of draft beer is the reason that I will not return again. read more

I just bought the best pan of Nachos Supremeo I've ever eaten in my life!! ( I'm 62... that means I've had lots of Mexican food.) $12 bought me this GIANT LASAGNA SIZE PAN of fresh fresh FRESH chips baked in the Nachos and a bag of extra freshly made chips for later. I'll be eating this for days! Fresh real hand made guacamole with a hint of fresh cilantro, and sour creme, salsa verdes and classic red. All for $12!! A beautiful restaurant on the Broadway strip. The staff is the best in Everett! The entire staff is always sooo nice!!! Very polite and very prompt!! You get your menus, chips and salsa and water right away. They work as a team to get your order and bring out your food in no time at all! They also have delish Magaritas!!! Stopped here for an early dinner and enjoyed our visit. Decor and building are memorable. The food was good, not exactly sure what we ordered but they were plate meals and did not leave hungry. Inside was festive and had several customers. General cleanliness could be better. The business looks to has been around for some time based on the building and decor and has been since 1980s. So before my Mother passed we used to treat ourselves at this restaurant. As time marched all over me, I would make a note to stop by and eat. So I did it. I can say the food is still as good. It is a small restaurant so if you have big group you will be at different tables, but small enough that you don't have to shout at someone across the room. The service is still very friendly. My coworker loves to eat here so we get take out from here a far amount. She has a fascination with their refried beans and always seems to have a craving for them. I like when she gets take out without me as she always lets me eat all her chips and salsa. I'm a sucker for any place that offers you more than one kind of salsa, particularly when one is green. We like that we can call our orders in via the phone and then easily drive down the street to pick them up. They pack everything up nicely in a box for easy transport. We recently got takeout for about 8 people as a treat from our bosses for Cinco De Mayo and being essential workers. Everyone was happy with their food. I've been eating here for over 20 years since I started working in Everett. It's one of the few places I can recall eating at so regularly for so long. I don't eat in the dining room as much as I used to, but I love the vibe here. The back room is so much bigger than the small front area. It's a great place to meet up for after work drinks. I recall we had a nice bday celebration here for my coworker listed above where everyone seemed genuinely happy she decided to celebrate there. I ordered the Tampico enchilada where you can choose your protein and sauce. I ordered their mole sauce. It's still tasty as I remembered it. Their drinks are strong and delicious as always. Wait staff was nice, helpful, and attentive. Our food came out hot as always and at the same time! There were five of us! And in terms of quantity, it's still a lot of food. They offer a red and green salsa to dip your chips in. Both salsas were mild, but the red salsa did have a kick versus the green. Stopped by on a whim as we needed to eat before an appointment close by. So glad we did! Lovely inside with beautiful murals and a fireplace. Clean bathrooms down some steep stairs. On to the food! We generally judge Mexican food by Chile Rellano and tamales, then beans, rice,and salsas. We were greeted by crispy warm chips, with both a red and a green salsa. Both delicious! We shared a lunch combo of Chile Rellano and got a tamale on the side. Piping hot plates and generous portions. Really tasty beans and a terrific tamale. One star down for the Chile Rellano being a bit bland and not puffy. But it had lots of cheese and was tasty. We will definitely be back when we are in the neighborhood. read more

Strong pours on the margaritas! Heck yes. I have had several things from here and every item that I have had, has been awesome. Cheese game is always perfect here. Melted and gooey. Second time I've been here, last time was 25 years ago, the place is exactly the same. Again I can't remember all the murals but the atmosphere is nice. The staff is prompt, no issues, every waiter seems to be there to wait on you. Prices are decent. Parking is a little thin. Food was really good their salsa for the complimentary chips had a good spice to it. Probably the best chimichangas I've had in a while, beans and rice were good too. It was a boys birthday, the staff and everyone sang along. It's good to be reminded of local and tenured restaurants still going strong as probably half the seating or more was occupied. It's a reminder why I have been trying new places because this is a high four, almost a 5 just because we had to park a little aways on a busy road, but if it weren't for that I'd give it a 5. A friend of mine went there two days ago with her sister, and after one drink she was completely incapacitated. She apparently blacked out in a bathroom stall until her sister went to check on her.
