    Steak tacos (tiny!!)

We were really excited to have an upscale Mexican restaurant on the water. As a new restaurant I'm sure some kinks are still being worked out. The location is prime, the inside was well done and the service was pretty good. The food on the other hand missed the mark. Although the flavors were good, for the price I can't believe how small the portions were. Had I not eaten my daughters leftover rice and beans, I'd have left hungry after my tacos. For a place that doesn't serve chips and salsa upfront, you'd think you'd also get rice and beans standard, not just one side with most meals. We also had very expensive drinks that did not seem to have alcohol in them. Hopefully things get better as time moves on. There is a place very close by with very large tacos at a better price.

We decided to try Marina Azul on the waterfront last night. When we first walked in, the waitress let us know they had stopped taking food orders to let the kitchen catch up, but we were welcome to order drinks. My fiancé and I just looked at each other like, "What?" She kindly offered to ask the manager if they could take one more table, and thankfully he said yes. The restaurant itself has a great vibe. The bar is in the center of the restaurant, there aren't many indoor tables, but they also have a covered outdoor seating area that was really nice. The service throughout our visit was friendly and attentive. As for the drinks, I was a little disappointed by the limited selection. Everything I initially ordered seemed to be something they did not have. I also found it surprising that adding a flavor to a margarita was an additional $2. Our food arrived only lukewarm, which was unexpected since the restaurant wasn't very busy. My fiancé ordered the birria noodle soup and the short rib tacos. He felt the soup lacked flavor, but he really enjoyed the short rib tacos, they were tender and flavorful. I ordered the carne asada tacos with fries, and unfortunately, they just didn't do it for me. The carne asada lacked seasoning/flavor, and the fries were bland and could have used some seasoning as well. Overall, Marina Azul has a fun atmosphere and friendly service, but the food was hit or miss for us.

We had an amazing visit to Marina Azul. The customer service was fabulous, polite, and apologetic. Tour server kept thanking us for waiting. They had only been open for 3 days and she felt we had been very patient. We had not! We were enjoying our con VV rations and the gorgeous view from the outdoor patio. Their menu looks amazing. I look forward to trying everything on it. We were treated to chips and 3 types of salsa "for being patient". They were all fabulous and varied is spice. For our meals we ordered the Macho burrito, chicken rings enchiladas and the chicken to go tacos with pinto beans. We also ordered a starter, the shrimp ceviche. This was the star of the day. Do not skip on it. We will be back. The service is top notch. The food is full of flavor and freshness. The view can't be missed.

    Seafood enchiladas

We've been dining at restaurants down on the Everett waterfront lately and saw Marina Azul right next door to the restaurant we'd gone to the weekend before. We've dined at the Millcreek Azuls and thought the location was part of that family of restaurants but we were informed that that wasn't the case. The menus are not exactly the same but pretty close I chose the seafood enchiladas and my wife went the chicken fajitas after we were seated in their outdoor area. It was a beautiful evening with a nice view of the marina it didn't take long for our orders to arrive. We had a nice casual dinner the service was attentive but not overly all in all good food and another good restaurant in the area we'll be back. One last thing parking can be an issue so plan for that.

Came here for lunch and a had the blanco enchiladas with a side of Spanish rice. I also had the jalapeño cucumber margarita and then we ordered some chips and guac and salsa. Everything was so good!!! I kinda wish they had chips and dip for the table initially , we had to order it, but that's ok. The place was clean, our server was very sweet and the food was delish. Will definitely be back.

In short Clean, bright, friendly family-style Mexican place…read more Full bar, plenty of TVs. In long I definitely miss the awesome Thai place that used to be here, but Luna offsets that nostalgia. They're doing a great job. There's a cool courtyard, with iron fencing and gating that seems to suit the Mexican decor even better than it did the previous tenant. There's a good-sized winding dining room indoors too. Brightly-colored paint, nice matching tables and chairs, some big screens probably tuned to the game. Service is right on point, cheerful and low-key, ready to make you feel right at home. You get a menu right away, water with chips and salsa in a minute or two. The drink menu isn't the main focus, but you get basic versions of most anything. I had a Luna Margarita with lots of fresh fruit in there--even had to clear the straw at one point. The chips and salsa are generic. Just pico and tomato sauce stirred up. Would be nice to see them make something in house, but not too many places do that (fewer than you might think). The carne seems to be the star of the show, and it was tasty. Ordered medium and came out closer to well, but still fully tender and juicy. Tortillas were fine, the roast corn and scallions were good, and the rice and beans held up their end of the bargain. Little bit of guac and fresca in the middle of the plate. They're working hard for your Mexican food dollar, and if you're anywhere nearby, they're easily worth a stop.

She took us to the back which featured a bar area and twinkling lights on the ceiling! Loved the plants and decors on the wall. Our server was so attentive and kind! Me and my girl friend's husband ordered the Mar Y Tierra, thinly cut steak with garlic shrimp and mushrooms on the slide with rice, refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and choice of corn or flour tortillas! The steak was my favorite -- so juicy, tender and flavorful! They have a great variety of drinks! I got the watermelon basil margarita. They also have Jarritos soda which, my girl friend tried the guava and it was good! You have to get here before peak or you may not get a parking spot. They do have parking at the back but I bet if it's a peak night, it'll be crowded. We will definitely be back next time!

I admit I often go back and forth between the two, but what stands out about this one is the friendly service and the salsa bar. Personally I could live on chips and a good salsa bar alone, but the food I get is always pretty good as well. It seems like salsa bars are mostly a thing of the past these days so do check this out while you can. Plenty of parking out front, but they are closed Mondays. We often come for lunch and the service is pretty fast. They understand our need to order, eat, pay and be back at the office before too much time has passed. They are always willing to accommodate special requests and often have food specials and a regular lunch menu. I've brought a handful of people here and everyone has been happy with their meals. I usually opt for a veggie burrito or fajitas. I'm sure I'll be back again sometime soon.

La Ruleta does not have a bar/lounge; however, beer, wine and spirits are available. Lunch specials run Mon-Fri from 11am-3pm. The menu is diverse, sure to satisfy everyone. We arrived at opening and during our visit, there was one single person doing everything: seating, cooking, taking orders, cleaning and cashing people out. Be patient. Enjoy your experience and company. While looking over the menu, we snacked on complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were light and crispy. The salsa was a bit runny/thin and mild for my tastes. My daughter ordered a Michelada for $12. I ordered a Bloody Mary for $8. The Bloody Mary was garnished with a single celery stick while lacking the standard garnishments such as olives, pepperoncini's, beans, asparagus etc. I chose the Mexican Scramble for $17. I chose fresh fruit as my side and declined the toast and/or tortilla. My daughter ordered the Chorizo Benedict for $14.50 with a side of fresh fruit.
