We enjoyed celebrating my sisters' birthday here. Servers were so friendly and on top of it - consistently checking on us, getting us refills. I enjoyed the three tacos combo plate. It was good, but is definitely more Mexican-American and less of the authentic Mexican feel and taste. I was thinking it would be more like street tacos. It was still good though! The restaurant is beautiful with big paintings and murals on the walls. We finished with deep fried ice cream for dessert. It was amazing, with a sweet strawberry sauce on top. They sang to my sister and put a sombrero on her and gave us these delicious churro chips. It was so fun! This place is HORRIBLE. Highly recommend going anywhere else. Like seriously... Taco Bell, Jack in the box, 300ft away... Their food is trash, their customer service is worse. Got a to-go order $80 two meals and a toddler meal. Got everything home. Separated, tiny portions, horrible taste, tortillas hard, stuck together, served on a lovely paper plate¿ Called the "manager" and he asked ME what my suggestion was... there was no apology for the food, or lack there of. Extremely disappointing experience. GROSS. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE too. We recently picked up dinner from Ixtapa, and, both my husband's meal and mine were essentially inedible because they were so incredibly salty. I'm not talking about being a little heavy-handed with the salt--the food was genuinely awful and we couldn't eat it. BTW read the other reviews, we are not the first people to experience the excess salt issue. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with a supervisor. A man named Alfredo got on the phone, and I was honestly shocked by how rude and dismissive he was from the moment he got on the phone util he hung up on me. Rather than apologizing or even acknowledging that there might be a problem, he told me I could drive the food all the way back to the restaurant for them to make me something else (no option to bring it back for a refund) or receive an "employee discount" off our next order. He went on to ask "do you cook with salt at home?" with a tone that can only be described as snarky...interesting customer service there ALFREDO. Being passive aggressive and rude is not the answer. He then dismissed my complaint by saying that cheese isn't salty, so our food couldn't possibly have been so. Several times Alfredo essentially accused me of being a liar. I asked what his position was, and he refused to tell me. Not a good sign. As a customer, I don't expect perfection, but I do expect basic courtesy and accountability when I take the time to call with a legitimate complaint. Alfredo was incredibly rude, unapologetic, and made me feel like I was somehow the problem for bringing it to his attention. For the price we paid, the level of food and customer service we received is simply unacceptable. There was also an interaction earlier when we picked our food up. We asked for a takeout menu. The employee at the front actually responded, "What's that?" We clarified that we were asking for a printed menu to take home, and she told us we could look online. When we pointed out that there isn't a current menu online, her response was, "Yeah, we should probably do better at that." At least she was honest. We will not be returning, and based on both the food and the way our complaint was handled, I cannot recommend Ixtapa. When you're charging premium prices, customers deserve food that is actually edible and to be treated with basic respect when something goes wrong. Chips and salsa on arrival, on point! So good! The No Name, always good! We also ordered a Chicken quesadilla, Taco and Enchilada dinner and Blackberry Margarita's. The beef Taco was off, the Chicken Quesadilla was small, 1 tortilla folded with a scarce amount of Chicken and Cheese. Unfortunately the quesadilla was under cooked and very under dressed. I have been eating at various Ixtapa restaurants for the past 30 years, but tonight was a disgrace of an experience. We ordered one Ixtapa burrito and two kids meals for $54 and the food was so overly salted that we could not eat it when we got home. We called the restaurant to let them know about our food and the owner Alfredo said since we were the first to complain today that he doesn't believe us and only offered a 20% discount on our next visit. Alfredo, would not tell us his job title after asking 10 times and finally gave in. The customer service that we received was absolutely horrible, and we will never return. read more

We randomly chose this place for dinner on a Wednesday evening around 7pm. Place was busy but we got our food fairly quick. It took a bit to get our order in, but it was dinner rush hour. This restaurant is beautifully decorated and clean! The bathroom has beautiful sinks and well maintained. We ordered the horchata.. and they refill for free! I called at 8:24pm to place a to-go order. The woman who answered the phone told me they were closing the registers. When I questioned whether they still closed at 9pm she placed me on hold and then reluctantly took my order 5 minutes later. The portions are also getting so so so small! It's not a huge restaurant but I've come in with a group of 8 and another occasion with a group of 23. On all occasions we were seated rather quickly and attended to kindly! You don't always get that with a group of 23 nowadays! The owner has come around and made conversation with us which has made us feel as valued customers. We've had different servers every time and every time it's excellent service. The nachos are delicious! Highly recommend! All the other food we've tasted though too has been authentic and tasty! It consisted of a large taquito smother in lots of cheese. I decided to get it as a meal, but it's more for sharing. The chicken inside was on the dry side and didn't have a whole lot of taste. I have been coming to this location (out of town) for about 15 years. This place is always a good go to. Service is excellent. Always have had great service there, plenty of staff, very attentive-always there for chips and drinks refill. Chips- come out warm! So goood. The salsa, pico & the cheese dip are also winners. Chicken tortilla soup is amazing, one of the better ones I've had. With nice fresh chunks of avocado on top. Rice and refried beans are also solid. Not solid: chili relleno. I've had lots of chili relleno, including authentic homemade. What I had here was like a plobano pepper in a omelette. It was too eggy, not whipped egg whites like you're supposed to do and fry in oil. It was like a full egg omelette with a full pepper inside. My wife and I met our friends here for our monthly Taco Tuesday meet. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Tabs were easily and accurately split. Ixtapa doesn't offer a daily happy hour; however, the bar does offer different daily specials. On Tuesday's, crunchy ground beef or chicken tacos are $0.99 and soft shell tacos are $1.50. Complimentary chips and salsa are provided to munch on while slurping draft beer. Not all Ixtapa's have draft beer or a bar. I'm happy that this location has both. The bar is small and fills quickly. Pints of Dos Equis were $4.50. My wife ordered a side of Bean Dip for $1.50. The Bean Dip had a tasty layer of chile verde sauce on it. Nice touch. We each had a couple crunchy ground beef tacos for $0.99 each. The tacos had a nice amount of well seasoned ground beef, crisp lettuce and cheese blend. I love tacos. The special was carne asada and it was $28. The same exact meal on regular menu was $27. I told server I'd have the one on regular menu and pointed out the price difference and how strange a "special" cost more. He laughed and said yah that's weird, but there is only 1 button for me to press so it'll be the "special" price, nothing I can do. WTH? The meal was so flavorless (worst carne asada I've ever had) and small portions and outrageous price. When bill came (at the special price of $28) I said you need to tell the mgr this is not right. They informed me that I was not charged for the Item. I then looked over my receipt and noticed that I was charged $16.95 for a side of Mojo de Ajo Camarones in addition to my Carne Asada for $24.00. I expressed my frustration with the total cost of my order for such a little amount of food. They use canned hamburger on their dishes that are "beef" it is red, does not even look like beef, the exact texture that the Lahacienda uses in Marysville! Horrible! Went to Ixtapa with a couple friends to use their buy one get one meal offer. The waitress said the coupon would work but could not be used with the lunch specials. So we found something else to order that wasn't a lunch special. We ordered, ate our food and got our bill. Over 50 dollars for 2 meals and 2 drinks. They only honored 10 dollars off the meal. Even though nothing on the menu is 10 dollars... how is that buy one get one free? When questioned the waitress literally said "not my problem, thats how it is!" Had the waitress said that to begin with we would have just ordered lunch specials and saved money. Then when paying waitress never gave us our change. The wait staff seemed bothered and irritated to be working, they made it seem like we were an inconvenience (and we weren't there late or right at open either), and the food was just okay. It seems that Ixtapa is raising its prices yearly now and every dinner item is now $19.95 regardless of it being beef, chicken or prawns. Don't get me wrong $20 isn't bad for some dinners, but for chicken Mole or Arroz Con Pollo, it's just too much for what you get. However, I was very hungry and saw the sign for the place in Redmond so I stopped in there. The food was okay but there was no welcoming feeling like I always experience in Duvall.
