    Homemade chips and salsa

Was in town and stopped in for lunch. I ordered the beef burrito lunch special that came with rice and beans. The food and service were excellent. I really enjoyed the fresh chips and salsa as well. Great local restaurant.

This was our first time visiting here and it was amazing. First let's start with the service. They were friendly, they kept our drinks filled and were just overall awesome. The food, my wife says the chili Colorado was perfect. She even says it was by far the best one she ever tasted. My sons and I went for one of our favorites the Nachos. The nachos were full of flavor making me sorry I didn't come in as hungry as I normally would have. If I was to have any complaint, it would be that the size of the nachos felt slightly smaller than most other restaurants, but at the same time the price seemed a bit cheaper too. My brother really enjoyed his burrito but what really stood out across the table, was the salsa. We must have went through 6 different dishes of salsa and unlike lots of restaurants that offer free chips and salsa these dishes were decent sizes. Overall we are really excited to have discovered this place and are extremely thrilled with the service and food, especially the salsa.

Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday after spending some time at the fairgrounds. A fairly large menu but I settled on the Mexican Stir-fry and horchata. I was impressed by the serving size and overall flavor of the dish as a mound of grilled veggies and chicken was piled on top of a bed of rice. One of the better horchata I've had recently with lots of cinnamon added. I was also able to share the Camarones con Ajo and Queso Fundido appetizers with others at the table. The first is a meal on its own and both are recommended.

Mi Tierra is my favorite restaurant in Monroe for date night or family dinner, great service, they always greet you with a smile and are very attentive. Food is amazing - some of my favorites dishes are street tacos, ranchero chicken salad, and can't beat their ultimate margarita.

Amazing food and service, and the one and only "ultimate margarita" is the best! All the food is way better than other mexican restaurants.

Delicious food, wonderful service, and homey atmosphere…read more *Dear Yelp, here are a few more sentences to meet your new "85 characters"requirement & for the people who enjoy reading reviews rather than getting outside & experiencing what this world has to offer. Remember what life was like before yelp? We just went places 'cause they looked cool, tried restaurants 'cause they looked nice or someone recommended it... but now, most of us go on Yelp. Why? To read novel length reviews from wannabe journalists? NO WAY! Most of us just want to look at the menu before hand, check out the prices, & know if we'll get food poisoning or not. Either way, you read this long rant, thanks, I hope I made you laugh :)

Monroe, Washington, April 2026…read more This colorful building is located on the main street in downtown Monroe. The minute you walk in you are greeted immediately. An older gentleman and a younger guy were quick to tell us we could sit wherever we wanted as it was a Sunday evening. Booths line the wall and there are about four tables in the middle of the restaurant. Very small, but very colorful and extremely friendly staff. We were quickly asked for a drink order and they brought chips and salsa. The chips were a perfect thin yet crunchy texture. The salsa was very flavorful. It had chunks of onions and lots of cilantro. However, I wish the salsa was spicier. We both ordered chicken and beef enchiladas à la crema. The presentation was nice and I'm so glad there was no lettuce decorating my plate. My whole beans came in a little tortilla cup but the rice lacked flavor. It taste more like a puréed risotto. The enchiladas were covered in the cream sauce that also had cheese. There was no flavor to the cream sauce and the chicken was extremely dry. I liked the flavor of the whole beans. They don't give you a full basket of chips when you sit down. So we asked for more as they were delicious. But then we received only a quarter of a basket this second time. They don't post prices of the soda or the drinks. When we inquired to see a bar menu, they said they had none that we could order anything we want. We asked the price of a particular drink and he said don't worry. When I receive my bill, my non alcoholic bottle of Heineken was $7.25. I think that is outrageous for a nonalcoholic beer. I will give this place three stars because the chicken was tough and dry. The cream sauce was boring and the salsa needs spice.

Taqueria La Bamba was the only place that closed later so we opted to try it out. I got quesabirrias while my girlfriend got 3 lengua tacos. I was told by the server it was $13 for 2 quesabirria tacos, to which I was sketched out because that price is pretty high for just 2 tacos. When it got brought out, the consume and tacos were huge, and I mean huge. Personally, I didn't think it was the best quality quesabirria but it was pretty good value. The lengua tacos were also really good too. The restaurant was empty but it was filled with life, which Mexican music playing and soccer games/news playing on the TV. It would be cool to come here again when it's busier.

The deck off the back of the restaurant was fantastic, I just wished anything would have matched that energy. We ordered 2 jalapeno Margaritas, and 2 "fresh natural" margaritas. They brought out chips and salsa and beans to us following our orders. The salsa I am not sure how it qualify as salsa. It was more like a can of stewed tomatoes. No spice, no flavor. The beans were the same. Plain, nothing to them. While fajitas had been walked by many times we opted not to get food. After letting the server know we were not ordering food, I believe the manager came over to ask if everything was ok. We were like yeah, we just came by for drinks. Both the server and the manager seemed annoyed after that. After receiving our drinks they were to be nice, just plain disappointing. Jalapeño margaritas are my drink of choice and this one fell well short of the mark. There were jalapeños in it, but there was zero spice and a very strong flavor of just the margarita mix. My wife enjoyed her fresh margarita, but upon receiving the bill the fresh margarita was a $4 add on for the fresh lime juice? $65 for 4 margaritas in pounder glasses. Maybe it's because they were not good that I find that as steep. Thanks Monroe El Paraiso, we won't be back. Glancing at the menu there weren't evident vegetarian options, so I asked our server who said their beans were vegetarian but rice was not. The complimentary chips and salsa were really tasty - the chips were warm and crisp, the salsa was tasty, and they even gave refried beans as an extra dip. The refried beans were extremely good and worked better as a chip dip than I expected, and it made me think that other mexican restaurants should give beans as a chip dip! I got a 2 item combo - enchilada + burrito - and it was very good value too; much cheaper than some places in the Seattle area. It came with rice and a choice of beans, and I liked the beans they gave for dip so much I asked to get refried beans (normal side is pinto beans). Everything tasted great, and the benefit of being there when it was empty was that we got very attentive service. Something to note - the burrito was basically the same as the enchilada, except that it used a flour tortilla - I thought it would be more different but that's probably a me problem.
