Who would have known, on a road trip out to Skykomish to Seattle, with a car full of starving hangry 20-30 year olds; we would happen upon such a gem. This little shop is unsuspecting, with the nicest family run staff. The food is so divine, you can tell everything is made with care and love. For some reason, we thought this we Greek. Definitely more Persian, but many of the names were Greek. It is like they are trying to make Persian food more understandable to Americans. Nothing wrong with that at all as we really like Persian food. We tried the gyro plate (more like a koobideh kebab), a mezzeh platter, chicken, and a side of the fava bean rice. The food was ok but we've had better Persian food. My son liked his gyro plate (aka koobideh kebab) but we weren't super impressed with the mezzah platter or the fava bean rice. Solid spot, used to be Bella Balducci's. Still similar prices and great gyros & kabobs, and their fries still have fry sauce. One of my favorites to stop by when I'm in the area for lunch or after a ski day. Kabobs and gyros are always moist with flavor. The lamb here is not gamey so definitely try it! The lamb plate was $16 and the gyro is $10 so pretty reasonable. read more

I am local to this area and have not came since they changed to Kabob corner. I am now regretting not coming in sooner. I had the Vaziri Platter and added lamb skewer. Everything was amazing, the rice, all 3 meats and the charred tomato and onion paired up quite nice with it. Also included was a side salad to balance and to add more freshness. The take out and the person at the front counter greeted me nicely and my food was ready earlier than expected. The place was packed on a Friday evening and super clean. We came to this restaurant thinking it was Bella Balducci's, as we've frequented whenever we are in Monroe. It turned out that the food fare was similar to what was at Bella's, but more. I ordered the lamb shank and my wife had the beef kabob. The lamb shank was delicious, served on a separate plate from the rice dish. The sauce was good and the meat was soft. I just wished there was salad with the dish (I'd trade half the rice plate with some Greek side salad). Okay, so I had some of my wife's salad which came with her beef kabob. The beef kabob was tasty as well. The waitress was nice and helpful when we asked about the changes there and the menu items. Overall, the restaurant was clean and was not busy. read more

We love going to Kabob Korner in Monroe! They have recently upgraded the dining experience and the food is always very tasty and well presented. My wife and I love to get the combo plate and share. Excellent portions and the lamb skewers are the best I've ever had. The young lady that works on Sundays is always welcoming, friendly and gracious. The fries are always great. But my falafel gyro was disappointing. The falafel was wonderful, but there was just a sprinkle of feta and no tzatziki sauce. Usually the vegetables are intermixed with the falafel but they were all together in the wrapped end with 1/4 of a slice of tomato. Not a well put together wrap. They also forgot my salad. I don't do take out or dine in much these days. So this was a disappointment. read more

I've eaten here several times and really love the flavors and service. I think it's pretty lame that anyone would make a review basically just being angry that the former business closed. So I'm mostly motivated to cancel out their unfair review. Being sad that a business closed is valid, but don't try to ruin someones business just because you miss Pasta. I'm from out of town. I stopped my last year. The combo platter was wonderful. Kabobs with Tasmania rice.( rice is moist) not dryes out like other places. Pita bread that is warm. This time I got the beef and lamb Gyro plate. Big salad tomato, cucumber, onion, real lettuce. Not iceberg. The dressing g was superb. For being in a strip mall, they use real plates. So so so impressed. This is a must stop when I am in town. Service was with a smile and she was so sweet. Thanks for the wonderful dinner. read more

Excellent Koobideh - and I love how they included instructions for the tomato and sumac so anyone not familiar doesn't miss out on such a thoughtful touch. I dated a Persian Armenian over 30 years ago who I don't miss at all but sure do miss his mother's cooking so I'm always searching out "Mediterranean" restaurants hoping to find something similar and it's tough to find. This was the closest to homemade Persian food that I've had in quite some time so it was a nice surprise to find it in Monroe while in town running errands. The other extra special touch with my to go order was including a package of Sumac which if you are not familiar just makes everything on your plate taste better. I asked for a side of Hummus because you can really tell traditional food by their side's and their Hummus and Tzatziki was just like his mother's homemade - nothing like what you can buy in the store. I would have loved an extra tomato and will ask for one next time. Sorry I didn't take a photo because it was a full size kabob - lots of meat - but I was to hungry and dug in as soon as I got it home. read more

Really great offering of a gyro. Their greek fries are a literal joke though the sauce aint bad. Its harder to put less feta on something than the even the drippings of the delicious are excellently prepared sandwhich your eating itself. I spill more feta on these fries then they serve them with. Really nice servers. read more

We stopped in here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon because we love the location in Lynnwood. I had to use the restroom when we arrived so I waited outside the bathroom door because it was occupied. I was shocked when I saw the person exiting the restroom was one of the kitchen staff and he was wearing food prep gloves. This means worst case, he either wore his gloves to use the bathroom and didn't wash his hands or if he did take off his gloves in the bathroom, he put new gloves on while still in there touching the door handle and who knows what else before going back into the kitchen. I was so completely grossed out by the thought of someone wearing his food preparation gloves into the bathroom without washing his hands that we ended up leaving after letting the server know why we were not staying to order food. Sanitation and food safety is completely non negotiable and restaurants need to make sure that their staff are following proper sanitation rules or else they are going to lose patrons or god forbid make people sick potentially ruining their business. read more

Went to both new Kabob Korner's (Lynnwood & Monroe) within a week of each other. And on a positive note, the experience was the same (they have their processes and procedures dialed in). Both locations are nice, clean with a nice atmosphere. The wait staff is super nice and friendly, and although not Persian, they have learned the menu and meals offered. The service was a little confusing... you go in, and get seated, a server takes your order and brings your food (so you would think full-service dining). However, they do not bring you water, instead they point you to a self-service jug and cups. Additionally, when you order appetizers that are obviously going to be shared, neither place brought out little plates. At the end, if you have leftovers, they do not box it up for you, instead, there are a stack of to go containers by the water station. Also, they do not bring you your bill, instead, they ask you to go to the counter to pay. So now the dilemma... how do I tip? At a full-service restaurant, I would likely tip 15 to 20%. However, here, although the servers were very nice, I also had to do a lot of what I would normally be tipping for? Food was decent, although there is room for improvement. Chicken kabob was good, but could have been a little juicier (maybe a min less on the grill). Koobideh kabob was a little dry... maybe a they could use a higher fat content ground beef and or a little less time on the grill. Grilled tomatoes had a great char on the outside, but were not as well cooked (still a little hard on the inside). Ideally you want these to be super soft so they can be mashed up into the rice. Overall food is good, and as they tweak their menu and processes, I am sure it will only get better. A few items I would like to see added to the menu is Shirazi salad (staple Persian salad), Tadig (staple Persian appetizer) and maybe rotation of different stews. read more
