Paris Baguette has many locations. I always like to pick up some pastries from them when I'm shopping at Zion. But I think other locations are franchised and individually owned. They are also popular in Korea. Visiting this location for the first time recently. I love their plain butter croissants but I noticed the strawberry lemon cream croissants in the case so I got those since I don't see them anywhere else. I like pastries with lemon flavor. This bakery is located in Irvine on the Crossroads Plaza. I like coming here due to their wide selection of food and drinks. This location is not as busy and so Woodbury one, but it still has all the same tasty pastries. Today I try their new pumpkin tart which cost about six dollars and it was quite delicious. There is a hint of pumpkin flavor that is not overpowering and the other side is dusted with powdered sugar. What a light and delicious texture and baked fresh daily. This location has a good location with ample parking but we also use it as a stop if we are biking by on the path behind the center. There is a good amount of indoor & outdoor seating. They have a large selection to pick from. The pastries are on the too sweet side & kind of dry like they have been out for a while. That being said, we still come & get a treat here a few times a month. My kids love the sweet part. Now I come here for the coffee, which is good. I also like the egg salad sandwiches & fresh baguette. The sandwiches can be dry but if you get them when they are freshly made & brought out...they are amazing! This place reminds me of 85° in a way. You grab a tray and tongs then load the tray with goodies. I just went with a sweet and a savory. This was an absolutely terrible experience. The strawberries on the cake were clearly moldy -- something that was obvious at first glance. Yet the staff did not check the cake at all before packaging it and handing it to me. This isn't about taste or preference -- this is a basic food safety issue. Selling a cake with visibly spoiled fruit is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of quality control and responsibility. Let me start off by saying I love Paris baguette drinks and their pastries. But today, I ordered my usual iced Nutella latte and they clearly made it wrong and gave me a caramel latte. I took it back to the counter and asked if this is the correct drink, because usually the Nutella drink is much darker and tastes... like Nutella..... The trays and tongs are dirty, the floors were not swept and all the glass windows and food casings were dirty, mind you this was at 9am. He also told me the date is the sell by date and the bread should be good for 1 month. 1 MONTH! I don't know any bread that is good for that long. Due to this experience, I chose to limit my order. While waiting for my iced hazelnut lattes, the employees continued engaging in personal conversation. When my drinks were ready, I asked which beverage was decaffeinated, and the response I received was dismissive and unclear. After leaving, I noticed that the drinks lacked the hazelnut flavor requested and were overly bitter. This was also confirmed by others in the office. Due to the quality of both the service and the beverages, we ultimately ordered coffee and pastries from another vendor. The layers, the buttery center, and the crispy outer shell make it better than others. They also have a pecan pastry that tastes like a pecan pie but is much smaller. This is a very special pastry. I've now been to the location in Barranca a couple of times and I do love it as it's a nice cafe with lots of seating (even during a weekend late morning). There are lots of parking spots so no need to worry about coming here. The only downside I haven't been able to get a high review is because the people who work there don't really quite care about customers as I would be waiting in line to order but the cashier is just handling it with food/drinks and not even telling me to wait before they can take my order. They didn't apologize about the wait or anything... I still like to visit here since it's probably one of the only cafes in Irvine that is never so crowded and has good food and drinks.
