Stopped by for an afternoon pick me up and they had some new limited edition menu items I noticed. I opted for the Dry Iced Americano, which came with LOTS of ice, expresso, and caramel drizzle around the edges and topped with half and half. The drink was super good. I loved how strong the drink was (as I like my expresso drinks a bit bolder). The shop was decently busy, but the cashiers were friendly, and there are a good amount of tables to sit at and strong Wifi. Only note is that the bathrooms could've been a little cleaner as they were out of soap and tp was over the floor, but otherwise, it's a solid coffee spot to get some work done from. read more

They recently got new furniture since the last time I visited (a few years ago) that helps with finding a place to study or catch up with friends. There are outlets that are accessible too. Dear Coffee Bean, First time at this location and came up awesome. Stepped in and very cool right away so that helps the day recovery immediately. Picking out on the menu is easy and got kind people upfront who offer good suggestions when asking what is best for sweet or not sweet. From the time I ordered and finally got my drink, it was 28 minutes, which is unacceptable. It did seem like a lack of training. I actually went to the Costa Mesa coffee bean. They get fresh deliveries of their package coffee on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I purchased a bag of the Mexico, organic medium roast coffee. I also purchased the Costa Rica bag of freshly roasted coffee when I open the bags at home it almost knocked my socks off! The fresh smell of the roasted coffee was really incredible! If you go to the coffee Bean store, I believe the coffee is fresher there because they get the shipment in on Tuesdays and Thursdays After being roasted that being start aging immediately. I have found that most products from Amazon or that are in your local grocery store could be in the warehouse for up to six months until it hits the grocery store shelves. I always buy my fresh coffee at a local roaster and I enjoy fresh coffee. That is my Main thing! Has to be hot. It has to be fresh!I'll read more

My Wife has been going to this coffee bean for years. She is now at the point of never going there again. She ordered a matcha ice blended. What she got was liquid over ice. When she told the guy who made it that it was not correct he lied to her and tried to say it was the almond milk. She has ordered this same drink many, many times. The guy behind the counter (I would give his name but they don't wear name tags anymore) was and is very rude. This place has been going downhill for quite a while now. $7 for an ice blended drink and it's horrible. It doesn't look like they have a manager on duty anymore. If you like a delicious, sweet iced latte, nothing really comes close to the Hazelnut flavor at Coffee Bean. The Cookie Butter is a strong runner up. The Mango Cold Brew Tea is fantastic if you want something refreshing. Now Coffee Bean may be my favorite coffee chain, but they are not without their faults. Here is what to avoid: - their new avo toasts. They are trying to mass produce something that cannot be mass produced. Bread is hard, avocado isn't of good ripeness. Just don't get this. - their new boba drinks. I'm a huuuge boba fan, which is why when I tell you this isn't good, it really isn't. The milk tea itself is pretty good, so no problems there. But the boba pearls themselves -awful. Generally, places that do not specialize in boba will not have good quality pearls. read more

Was honestly not happy at all with the experience here this past week. I was in line for what felt like forever as the cashier was arguing with the one customer in line in front of me - not a huge deal especially since the cashier wasnt rude at all to me. You wouldn't expect it, but the Vietnamese Coffee is really good here. Nice balance of bitter and sweet. The chorizo burrito is also delicious but it gets sold out sometimes. The plaza is not very busy, and it's next to a lot of restaurants. There's indoor and outdoor seating, with umbrellas outside. read more

This is a good place to get work done! One of the few places in Irvine that open past 3:00pm, which I really appreciate.

I have been a frequent customer for a number of years, but over the last couple of months, this establishment has not been what it used to be. A friendly greeting in the morning and prompt service has become quite the opposite and an uninviting place to visit. Service has become very slow with folks milling about while customers wait and when they finally take an order, they move to other things thinking that someone else is going to provide the coffee for you. The morning crew, outside of the manager and the other ladies who are excellent, is unfriendly, unprofessional, uninterested, and unconcerned about taking or getting your order. I am hopeful that whoever is in charge reviews the camera footage and assess what happens each morning. This used to be a very nice alternative to the other coffee spots, but it has become an alternative that has seen the last of my business. What a shame. read more

Came to this location for the first time. First impression was that there were a ton of people waiting for drinks to be ready. We came to the register to order and the cashier came over. We had to repeat our order to him 3 times because he was talking to other people and paying us minimal attention. It's not the funnest to have service like that because it makes you feel unimportant. This is also the first time I've come to coffee bean since their latest price increase; almost $7 now for a large ice blended. Wow. After ordering, we waited about 15 minutes for two drinks to be ready. Someone must have taken one of our drinks, the baristas said, because only 1 of them was prepared for us. So we waited longer while they made the second. I was noticing the people that were ordering at the cashier and I felt bad for a lady waiting because it took her the whole time we were waiting for our drinks to be able to even order hers, so about 15 minutes. The cashier and another customer were taking their time, but like, taking way too long in my opinion. You have someone waiting behind you; what could possibly take 15 minutes to do at a coffee bean register? The other thing to mention was the smell inside the building.. there was a homeless person sitting inside, and I do not mean to be insensitive towards that person- I am just saying, their smell was permeating in the lobby and it was sharp. I used to be a barista myself for years and our general practice was that if someone didn't have proper hygiene, they'd be asked to be outside. I guess there's no way of saying that without it sounding mean to the homeless person, but I honestly don't mean it that way.. My ice blended drink literally tasted like water and the other drink didn't taste like it normally does from other CB's- something was off.
