Went to the Coronado location on a Sunday morning. What a scene! Still the food was tasty with fresh ingredients and nice spices/preparation. Had the breakfast burrito and the GF waffle with avocado and fried egg. Very nice baked good as well. Tight seating and you have to order your açaí bowls next door. read more

We really enjoyed Parakeet Cafe!! The food was delicious, full of flavor! The service was great! Everyone was super nice! And we sat outside in the back. It was quiet and cute and made for a great brunch spot. Overall highly recommend. A hidden gem read more

I'm beyond impressed with the food and the service. How can they make to go food look this good? and everything with tried was super tasty and delicious, also the staff was very helpful making suggestions at the register. I love to see places that serve healthy food that is good for you but taste this good. Thanks! And they make such great coffee and creative drinks using medicinal herbs and mushrooms. service is great. food is delicious. you get what you pay for, I've had isdues with my orders and the staff has been nothing but accommodating at this location. I order there a lot, so statistically there will be a snafu, sometimes at my end. Gracious staff at this location. Thank you. read more

I've been to the little Italy location but came here on Christmas Day since it was open. We ordered chai latte, Belgium waffle, eggs Benedicts, warm quinoa salad. I love how they have taken regular dish with healthier twists. I believe they also change menu seasonally. The waffle had good amount of fresh fruits and it was light and not overly sweet. It's not as dense as real Belgium waffles but i enjoyed it. The quinoa salad ( more like bowl) was really good and I'm going to try to recreate it at home. It had very good amount of vegetables like bok Choi, broccoli, snow peas and mushroom. The seasoning was perfect. My husband had eggs Benedict's and at first I was worried it would taste too "healthy" for him since the sauce was green but it didn't taste like vegetable. The eggs were also cooked perfectly. The decor is very cute but NOT overly done like it would make male customers uncomfortable. It's dog friendly too. It's a great addition to this area. read more

I stopped by for a bite for dinner before the show at Lamb's Theater. I'm Celiac so I was thrilled they had gluten-free options. I ordered the Berry Cacao Waffle which was amazing. It was literally a piece of art with real flower petals!! It was to die for. I will definitely be back!!! Latte was good too read more

Had an early dinner there last night, with some friends. I was thrilled to find that they have some entrees made with organic food. Paid $17 for the Thai salad bowl, greens with quinoa, which was basically a bowl of greens with a few grains of quinoa sprinkled on it, and 3 or 4 miniature carrots (not the abberrant tiny stubby carrots). I was hungry again by 8:00 p.m. It was an expensive bowl of greens. A friend ordered the "best burger" for $22 and said it was just an average burger. Couple other friends really liked their choices: the power bowl and the Parakeet bowl. I found it somewhat dismaying that the cashier did not know the meaning of several of the words on the menu that I did not understand. You would think they might take the time to learn these things, right? Words like " labneh", and "leche de tigre". Other than that, he was quite charming. The restaurant is light and airy and very pleasant to be in. I would eat there again, but not for anyone's birthday as it turns out that management does not offer that sweet service that most every restaurant does of surprising the birthday guest with several of the staff coming out with a small pastry with a candle in it and singing Happy Birthday. read more

I love the menu of this place!! Such great food options and cozy drinks. However, the execution can be lacking. The matcha is burnt, they should be whisking it in cool/luke warm water, not boiling hot which it makes it bitter and chalky. It's a bummer to have a matcha latte one day that tastes and another that tastes terrible. Also, the new loyalty program does not allow you to get points for mobile orders. read more

I saw the woman who was making my matcha latte pour sink water into the drink. I thought that was strange because the day before I had a matcha and didn't see the guy do that. Well, I should have said something because the matcha latte taste like water and powder. Not a latte. Just water. It doesn't taste good at all. I bought 2, $10.00 bucks to go. Waste of money. Gosh, this place is the worst. I've been here 20 times so I feel like I have a good feel for it. The employees are TERRIBLE. Literally everyone working here has resting bitch face all the time. They are absolutely useless. Sometimes you'll stand at the counter for 10 minutes with people around but nobody will help you. When you have a lot of reward points they don't bother to put it towards your food and then they expire. Once we dropped a drink and didn't help or worry or refill coffee. Just literally useless. They claim mimosas are a full small bottle but that's a lie, they fill half a wine glass with a tiny bit of champagne then add too much oj. They are also sooo slow. This is my last time coming here. read more

Cute cafe. At little on the pricey side, but it's expected with the area. We tried the mint matcha latte and the rose matcha latte and they were both delicious. Their different variations of avocado toasts are all really good. read more

Great addition to the island! I ordered an iced coffee and fruit and yogurt bowl, both were delicious. I can't wait to try more items!

our matcha latte and drinks were good but we ordered 40 MINUTES ago and our 1 dish of chilaquiles still hasnt came out. there have been people coming after us and have finished their meal. i understand that they are busy but this is unreasonable that its been 40+ minutes since placing our order and our food has not come out yet. read more

if i could rate this place a negative star i would. i asked for a hot coffee and they gave me iced and when i returned it and told them my correct order they were rude with their tone and gave me looks like i did something wrong. waiting for my correct order... they still took forever to make my coffee and once it was ready all they did was point to where it was and said, "it's over there." i don't know their names but a girl with brown blonde highlights and another girl with black hair. never coming back. read more

Coffee is expensive and came out cold, service wasn't the best as well... only positives is food looked good and ambience is cute

Service was good and fast. But let me just say the food is actually so bad. I hate to critique the way I am right now but. Everything needed salt. Hubby Had the chilaquiles and it looked presentable and pretty but everything about it was not good. Sauce was so bland but with a pungent sour taste. Chips were almost inedible. I couldn't help but make a face when I tried it, felt so bad he didn't even eat it. I had the shakshouka. It was edible but needed salt. No flavor it just tasted like tomato soup.. why did the Trader Joe's version of their dish taste better and more authentic. It wasn't baked. It honestly felt like they dumped crushed red tomatoes and two eggs and warmed it up. We both left starving still and short $80 for a meal that was not even satisfying. Very disappointing only good thing was their mint chocolate chip smoothie and that was barely passing. Go across the street to the Henry if you would like to get good breakfast and your moneys worth. read more

Places like this perpetuate the idea that nutritious food must be bland. I ordered chicken noodle soup and a side salad. Both were dramatically under-seasoned and the salad dressing was not balanced (way too acidic). It's a bummer too because their menu sounds delicious and has so much potential but seriously salt your food... read more

I love the Parakeet Cafe's menu! I'm not vegan, paleo or gf, but their menu makes healthy food look divine! I came for breakfast and was thrilled to find open outdoor tables. I really wanted a wonderful-sounding waffle concoction, but the healthy me persevered and I had the Healthy Breakfast Bowl -- it was wonderful, and I left overful. I'm only here 2 more days, but may try that waffle before I leave. Coffee was delicious, too. Highly recommend! read more

I don't know why I continue to come here. I like the drinks. The food is okay, but the employees! They are so cold and unfriendly. Does everyone who works here dislike their job? I feel like the food is hit or miss. It's always fresh, but some things taste good and some not so much. I've met friends here a few times they aren't al impressed. I need a good go to place for lunch if i recommend it. Also, no WiFi. You are a coffee shop. Get WiFi! read more

Had a late lunch here, sat outside on a cool day but was protected from breeze. The place is set up so that you can go have bakery and coffee on one side, or order food and all on the other side. They have what vegans are looking for, lots of wonderful choices. Will definitely be coming back here when in Coronado. Very tasty, and we had good service too! read more

Cashier seemed a little...adversarial? Standoff-ish? I don't know how to describe her demeaner, not necessarily unfriendly, but just not very hospitable. The drink however, was BEYOND expectations. I ordered the mint Latte with oatmilk and have to say that it is probably the best coffee drink I've had in a long time (I was a barista for 3 different establishments throughout college, so I'm kind of difficult to please). It wasn't too sweet, the mint taste was a fresh mint, NOT a toothpaste mint, and there was a subtle middle of the palette coffee flavor that balanced it incredibly well. It was a very well designed and crafted drink. Would face the abomination of Coronado traffic/parking/crowd just for that latte on a day that's just a little too warm. Barista came looking for me when the drink was done, and I appreciate little things like that. Keep up the good work. read more

I wish that I could give this place zero stars unfortunately, yelp does not give us that option. I am writing this as I am standing in the restaurant, and the little blonde girl behind the register is telling the other employee to "tell us to fuck off". My friend and I were sitting at the table, unaware that the cafe closed when the little brunette employee came up to us and asked us to leave because she needed to put the chairs away. We said that we would still like to order some tea to go and she snarled at us and said that she already closed the register and then we said OK can we at least use the bathroom and she said that's fine so we go inside and the other blonde girl behind the register yells at us that "we're closed". After I used the bathroom, I was waiting for my friend to finish using the bathroom as well and the entire staff was basically yelling at me that they're were closed! We were paying customers trying to have a nice meal, we didn't hover in the restaurant for hours we just wanted to use the bathroom for a quick minute not get yelled at by a buncha angry teenage girls. Maybe, if they ran the food out to us in a timely manner instead of having another customer come and tell us that our food was ready we would've been out quicker too! My friend and I have been repeat customers at this location many times and were so disappointed and shocked at how rude and disrespectful the staff was. read more

I ordered my $18.00 smoothie and waited for it to be made. 10 minutes later it was still not ready, the owner was the cashier and he was playing on his phone, there were two people working behind but neither making smoothies and there were no other customers. I complained to the owner about how long it was taking, he didn't care. I then asked for a refund since I had now been in there 15 minutes and it still wasn't even close to being ready. It took him another 5 minutes to cancel the order. The owner didn't care and didn't apologize for the poor service. I will never go back. read more
