Such a lovely cafe in the heart of downtown in SD. Seating options are inside and outside too so it's beautiful to look at the cafe inside but outside definitely allows the best weather! The staff is also so sweet and welcoming! While it can be busy, the line moves quickly. I came in to order their Turkish coffee and my husband ordered a vanilla latte. We also picked up some of their baklava. The wait time wasn't bad for how busy they were too. After receiving our order we dug into the baklava and it was exceptional. You could taste every layer in every bite. Perfectly flaky and just the right amount of sweet. It was reheated as well so it tasted as if fresh from the oven. My Turkish coffee was too hot to drink for about 30 minutes, BUT it was well worth the wait. The flavor was just astounding. Perfectly savory coffee with just the right hint of sweetness. Easy to drink it quickly once cooled. My husband's vanilla latte was also delicious! Perfect balance of actual espresso to sweet vanilla. Could still taste rich coffee in each sip. We had just finished brunch nearby and decided to stop here for coffee while walking along the harbor. The café was cute, and the World Cup décor was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed everything else. When my two friends and I walked in, there were no other customers, yet neither employee acknowledged or greeted us. They seemed far more interested in talking to each other than helping customers. My friend ordered one of the specialty coffees, but when it was handed out, it looked nothing like the menu photo. When she politely asked if it was the Brazil-themed coffee she ordered, the barista responded with a curt "Yeah," rolled her eyes, and gave her a look that was completely uncalled for. The coffee itself was just as disappointing as the service especially for nearly $10. After one sip, my friend left it on the table, and we walked out. I can overlook a bad cup of coffee, but poor hospitality is much harder to ignore. A simple greeting and basic kindness go a long way. Sadly, this experience left us disappointed, and I wouldn't return. read more

Found this cafe on IG, located in Little Italy. Decided on giving this place a try with my hubby. We were lucky and found street parking. Such a cute little spot. We were greeted right away. Staff was very friendly. What we ordered: * Turkey Egg, & Cheese Croissant - Shared * Banana Pie Latte - Me * Peach Matcha - Hubby Everything we had was very tasty. Especially the breakfast sandwich. This place is a hidden gem among the many spots in Little Italy. Another IG find the service was great very friendly. Wife and I got our his and hers as I love trying the different variety of matcha options, she likes the Banana lattes. She was disappointed it was not like the picture on IG. Food we tried there turkey and egg croissant. Light and fluffy very tasty even with a dab of Mike's Mayo. The vibe was amazing downtown coffee shop feel with seating inside and out. They have a World cup drink menu as well as Summer menu. Definitely want to return and try a few that caught my eye. I am also very eager to come try there omelettes that looked so tasty . By the time I arrived, the cafe was starting to get busy, but that didn't affect the service at all. Sips: They serve regular lattes as well as Turkish coffee and cold brew. The coffee was perfectly hot, and the first thing I noticed was the large portion size; their cups are bigger than standard, and the prices are very reasonable for that amount. My husband's pistachio latte didn't contain actual pistachios, but the syrup tasted surprisingly good, much better than some of the artificial nut syrups I've tried elsewhere. I just ordered through Doordash and it was so good! I went with the ham classic sandwich and opted to have it on sourdough with pepperjack cheese. The bread was toasted and still warm with melty cheese by the time I got it! I also ordered an iced latte. I liked that it was super customizable and you could mix and match different flavors. I kept it classic and went with a butter pecan iced latte. It had just the right amount of syrup, not overly sweet. I've been in person a few times and the workers are so nice and the place is decorated cute. It's nice to know that the quality is not affected on delivery orders like many other places. read more

What a great cafe. While I haven't been physically there, we ordered delivery from them for lunch on a friends wedding day while we were getting ready in her hotel. They included sweet notes wishing her a good day as well as a free pistachio muffin that was incredible!!!! The Cobb salad with ranch was great, and everyone enjoyed their food as well. Little things like sweet notes and a free treat are so appreciated, lovely, and reflect a great staff. Definitely makes me want to come back & support this place even more! read more

Did I just stumble upon a delicious cafe WITH wonderful customer service? That's become such a rarity these days, it's heartbreaking. I've passed by this place many times and always thought, one day I's try this cute place and today was the day. It's a quaint charming coffee shop with minimal indoor and outdoor seating but an absolutely plentiful menu. Immediately after walking in, I was greeted so warmly by the woman at the register who was more than happy to help when I asked her whether to order one drink over the other. I ended up getting the salted caramel macchiato and the chocolate croissant and I have no regrets. Everything was flavorful and high quality. There's this notion in my culture that when you're in good spirits, whatever you cook turns out delicious, and I think that's the vibe here. The staff all seemed not only cheerful but on good terms with each other, and it makes the ambience so much better. I work nearby and intentionally choose to support local businesses over chains like Starbucks. However, my recent experiences make that hard to justify. Today, I spent $15+ on a drink and a bagel that was rock solid. The staff cut the bagel in half, so they must have felt it was stale but served it anyway. The drink was great! This follows several sandwiches that were 80% bread, 20% toppings and generally lacked freshness so I stopped buying them. I want to continue supporting local, but at a $15 price point, the quality needs to be reliable. When a staff member serves something they know isn't fresh, it undermines the trust I have in your shop. read more

Capri Cafe has an address on W Ash St, but the ground level space actually faces India St in the southern end of the Little Italy neighborhood. The business is still in a soft opening phase. There were three small round tables out front on the sidewalk and the same number for inside seating. A couple of faux green walls were on opposite sides of the suite with neon signs mounted on the social media friendly backdrops. My visit occurred after I had already made some other nearby pit stops. Coffee, three smoothies, three acai bowls, and various baked goods and breakfast items were on the menu. The goal was to pick up a breakfast sandwich to take home and consume the next day. The Turkey Sausage Egg'witch was my choice which happened to be keto friendly. The sandwich was quite small and didn't fill up the takeout container in which it was placed. If you look at my photo, then you will see that charging $4.99 for this product was not a good value. The service from the worker was fine. While I can't vouch for the drinks or any other food, my brief experience at Capri Cafe only garnered a three star rating as there are plenty of higher quality choices on this street. read more

This place was literally 5 seconds away from where I was staying at, so it was a perfect stop before I went to the boardwalk for a walk. They have breakfast and bakery menu items, as well as a large variety in drinks (both coffee and tea). I ordered an iced vanilla latte, and I noticed that they have organic and sugar free syrup options as well. I spent around $6.50 for a medium coffee, and it was made just as I liked it, not too sweet and not too milky. The girls working there are really sweet!! I tried a few items, especially the coffee, which was really good. I had an Americano first, but when the owner, Emily, found out that I wanted a cortado, but wasn't on the menu, she came out from the back and whipped one up for me! I have to say, we'll done Emily for that delicous and smooth cortadito. For eat, I had the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich on a round croissant. It arrived piping hot and was very tasty. In addition, I had a scrumptious coconut doughnut filed with luscious custard and chocolate filled Bomboloni or Italian doughnut. They were both great, but that coconut doughnut was total bliss. It offered great texture and flavors. A must try. All of Capri's baked goods are from a local baker. They plan to have Acai bowls and more menu items coming soon. Yikes -- I ordered the banana pie latte and it was $9.99 for a small. I'm not sure why I didn't just leave but was shocked so I just tapped my card and then waited. It took 12 minutes to get the latte. There was one person who had already ordered before me and no one after. They use just bottled syrups so nothing unique or fresh. The latte was okay but nothing to write home about especially for over $10 out the door. Honestly I can't imagine staying in business at this price. I'd ask for pricing if you choose to go! I did look after and the price for the seasonal drinks aren't even listed (perhaps intentionally). read more

We had their iced pumpkin spice latte w/oatmilk and regular milk. Both great! Can't remember if there was an extra charge for the art but coffees definitely felt a little pricey.
