Everything tasted super fresh and the açaí was really good. Love the amount of strawberries and seasonal fruit added on top. It is a pretty generous portion and I probably could have split this with a friend. Super friendly staff. There is a bit of a wait when you order since it's a popular spot.
Acai was very good! The wait was 20-25 but went up to 50 by the time we got our bowls. Got the wave and a regular acai bowl. I enjoyed the variety on the wave but I think next time I'll stick to the original. Great amount of fruit and they take phone orders.
Theres limited options for acai bowls. Also no seating excepted a couple of seats outside. But its a chill vibe and service was fast. Flavor was okay but their granola was great
One of the best açaí bowls I have ever had and one of the prettiest! The fresh fruit and all of the flavors (coconut, pitaya, and pineapple) were SO good! I love how they are made with local and fresh ingredients too. Their house made granola is great too. You got inside to order, but there isn't seating inside. There are some spots outside, but I recommend taking it to go to Mission Beach that's close by. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They gave us a box to be able to carry our bowls to go. They were HUGE!!! I think you can definitely share a bowl between two people. We all definitely had more than enough when we each got a Wave bowl for ourselves. They look really good and taste really good too. I would really recommend Juice Wave if you are looking for an amazing açaí bowl near the beach in San Diego :)
SO yummy! Great service and even better bowls. Cutest little shop where you can see your order being made through a window. Very fun beach decor. I ate here last time I was in SD unfortunately they were closed this visit but I will be back to try again!
I come to San Diego multiple times a year, and always make the walk to Juice Wave for probably the best açaí bowl I've ever had. The açaí itself feels fresh and not too sweet, with local perfectly ripe fruits piled on top and their homemade granola. I always add the fresh peanut butter for extra flavor. This place is so incredible, so expect a bit of a wait especially on a sunny Saturday morning! Still the owner and her staff are very friendly and hardworking in this small walk-up stand in mission beach. Highly recommend!

This place is great!! They have a grab and go section which is nice if you don't have time to wait. This clever carrot juice was amazing!! I didn't get an açaí bowl but they looked insane.
Prefacing with - I don't really eat Acai Bowls, it feels like just a thick smoothie with some toppings but I cannot deny that Juice Wave changed my perspective completely and I understand the hype. You can't really beat the refreshing taste of fresh fruit and nutty granola and butter. Especially when you can take this delectable bowl to the beach and just vibe in the sand. Wave Bowl $16 (14.50+1.50): 5/5 The bowl itself looks fairly small like, but deceptively so since I was stuffed after eating the whole thing for breakfast. It is higher cost than I would usually spend but I don't eat açaí bowls to know the average. Personally I really liked that the toppings were at the bottom and the bases were on top, not just because it was a beautiful display but because sometimes when it is the opposite, it can quickly get messy with toppings falling and dropping. The granola was crunchy and the add-on nut butter ($1.50) was plentiful and contrasted well to the fruits. You get some finely diced strawberries and bananas that were just the right amount of ripe, the bananas a little more firm but definitely preferred with the bases. The pineapple spirulina was favorite as it had a good sweetness to it. Honestly wished I could get a bowl with just this as a base and of course the natural blue color is just so unique. Coconut was coconutty and the pitaya was brightly colored, not too much distinctive taste on this one. Peak San Diego Experience

There was a line when we arrived, but it moved fairly quick. We placed our order at the register, as the worker was super sweet & made small talk with us as it was our first time here. We came on a Sunday morning so our two bowls were a 30-40 minute wait, however if you are not there to pick it up, they kindly put it in the freezer for you for when you come back. * Pitay-Dye Bowl - 9.5/10 (the acai base had the perfect texture of creaminess, & the sweetness of berry was perfect. the pitaya base was strong of dragonfruit flavor & not icy at all. the honey granola was very crunchy, with a good ratio of it to the base. i like how they finely chop the strawberries & bananas, & pack it on top of the bowl. they definitely do not skimp here. one of the best acai i have ever had! ~tine) * The Wave Bowl - 9.2/10 (all three sorbets were super flavorful. each were all light & refreshing without being too sweet. i liked the blue spirulina sorbet the most. i personally can't describe the taste, but it was delicious enough to make my toes curl. the bowl had a generous amount of strawberries, banana, & granola. the honey also added a nice external sweetness to the bowl. the bowl overall was super refreshing & addicting. i could eat the bowl full of just the blue spirulina base! ~jerm)
This açaí bowl really did live up to the hype!!! Even at noon on a busy beach Saturday it only took about 20 minutes (which they told us when we ordered) and it worth every minute and penny! The bowls are large and filled to the brim with fresh fruit. Would definitely recommend the homemade almond butter too. 10/10 and I can't wait to go back!!
These bowls are just as good as they look! Packed with so much fresh fruit on top, delicious granola, and refreshing açaí, this is the best açaí bowl I've ever had. Tip, add the almond butter (made in-house), it's incredible!

A cute little smoothie/açaí bowl shack by the beach! We came on a weekend afternoon and it was about a 40-60 minute wait for the bowls after we ordered. Parking was pretty limited. The bowls themselves looked very beautiful presentation wise! The açaí base, pitaya base, sorbets, and fruit toppings were all quite good! The homemade granola had a bit of a burnt taste and was a little gritty in my opinion, and the homemade nut butter was a bit dry. Overall, the bowls were decent, but for me personally, not worth the wait to get it again. read more

Fantastic! I was jogging along Crown Point Park and saw a few people walking with acai bowls and immediately started craving it. I then looked up nearby acai bowls and was so happy i found the exact place i was hoping for! Chef Arleigh is really kind and i love the shack vibes of the smoothie shop. The strawberries on the bowl were pleasantly refreshing & not too sweet, just the way i like it. I love the crunch on the housemade granola as well. And lastly, the old bay in the immunity drink is just the kick i needed. Cant wait to bring friends here after a run. read more

Juice Wave has been in my bookmarks because of their massive acai bowls. I finally had the chance to stop by in the morning to grab one and enjoy at the beaches nearby. I parked near Bahia Resort but there are several parking lots near Juice Wave. Look up SDSU Recreation Parking...I'm pretty sure it's free but please double check! You can also find parking around the streets but you'll be competing against others going to the beach. On a Sunday morning, the wait was about 20 minutes for a bowl. A little pricey but they really do stack the bowls with fruit! But because of all the fruit, the overall flavor is a bit more tart than other places. I wish there was a little more acai to balance out ratio but other than that, it's a pretty solid bowl. read more

This TEENY TINY so easy to miss spot was everything and more. I just loved this hole in the wall healthy juice place so much, it was exactly what I needed in the moment and the price was right. I had eaten junk junk and more junk the night before and I desperately needed a ginger shot of the sort and some healthy greens in my body. I got here 15 minutes too early, had the opening time wrong and the girl was so cool about it but I didn't want to wait around for 15 minutes so I kept walking to the next juice place and when I got there, they were permanently closed! I was pissed to say the least but I took the walk all the way back to Juice Wave and was SO glad I did. I went with a ginger and turmeric shot and a super green juice and I think I paid maybe $13 for both. It felt like robbery and I even told the girl behind the counter she should raise her prices. An absolute steal compared to other juice shops I went to the remainder of my trip in California. They were dynamite, the ginger shot brought me back to life and the super greens made me feel like a new woman. Hats off to this little superb healthy joint. read more
Being in San Diego, I wanted to try the most highly reputable açai bowl in the city. After all the research that I did, juice wave was the place I landed on. And it definitely lived up to the hype. This was the perfect balanced bowl with açai, granola, fruit, PB, and of course, love! Got to meet the owner of the store while ordering and she was the sweetest lady ever. She told us that she started in a food truck and has now moved to a storefront, which is awesome to hear her journey. There is a line out the door, but yet each bowl was carefully curated and walked out by the owner to each customer which I thought was a very special touch. The vibes were good and it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the bowl right outside the store. read more
Came back again (this spot never disappoints) and tried the wave bowl for the first time. I ordered it upside down and I actually loved this version--having all the toppings layered on top makes every bite balanced and flavorful. We added peanut butter. The bowl was fresh, delicious, and definitely big enough to share. Another solid visit! Be prepared for long waits but it's best to order and walk by the bay till your order is ready. read more
Waited in line for 10 minutes and we ordered at 2:20 PM on a Sunday. They mentioned we were the last bowl for acai, and they had already run out of peanut butter so we got almond butter instead. Got the pitay-dye, which is half pitaya sorbet, half acai, with granola, banana, strawberry, honey, and hemp seeds. It took about 20 minutes because they were quite busy, but the girl at the counter was super friendly. At $14.50, it's a decent portion, and the ingredients are fresh--a satisfying sweet treat. Some limited seating in the form of benches outside the storefront. Would recommend parking in the lot where the SDSU Aquatic Center is because street parking is very difficult. Absolutely worth all the hype! This place has some of the best, if not the best acai and fresh toppings that money can buy. I could taste every single ingredient from the rich acai sorbet to the homemade peanut butter (a must). I love how fresh the toppings were and the fruit had no flaws. The purple rain smoothie was also insanely delicious and so fresh, perfect for blueberry lovers. Definitely going to be making my way back here! read more

This place isn't a hype. It's genuinely good. Make sure you 1) call ahead to place your order since it took over an hour to get our bowl on a Saturday afternoon and 2) add their homemade peanut butter. It elevates the bowl. We did the pitay-dye or half açaí + half dragonfruit. There were generous amounts of delicious granola, strawberry, and bananas on top. Worth the money in every way. read more
I was minding my business walking around mission beach and saw these girls pass by with such beautiful Acai bowls that looked like they were made by the gods themselves. All sorts of colors and fruits on this beautiful hot day. I asked them were to go and I immediately went to Juice Wave (new favorite place) placed my order and walked around a bit until they were ready. While placing my order, the women working inside were SUCH a vibe. I didn't want to leave there the ambiance was so friendly and amazing. Once I got my wave bowl I was even more impressed. The bowl tasted like no other bowl I've had this far. All amazing flavors and their granola was so fresh! 10/10 recommend this spot!!! read more

Yes, TikTok made us do it but it was pretty good. It's a long wait and the ladies are very nice. We love supporting a small local business and the apricot specifically was so sweet! They get their fruit from a local farm. The pitaya was also good, I think better than the acai personally. The lines and hecticness are expected but it's such a small shop and very limited parking and seating (because it's a small shop). Would recommend if you have the time and are lucky to get parking. Big bowls and yummy, great for pics. read more

If you're looking for the best acai bowls in San Diego, this is the spot (and just a short walk from the beach)! We ordered the Acai Bowl and The Wave Bowl -- both were incredible. The Acai Bowl was topped with strawberries, bananas, granola, and a drizzle of local honey that made every bite perfect. The Wave Bowl was like a tropical vacation in a bowl, with pitaya, coconut & pineapple sorbet, with fruit and granola packed on the bottom of each scoop. Best açaí bowl in San Diego! I ordered the wave bowl I love that there is a plethora of fresh fruit and the scoops were unique compared to other places. I got a scoop of coconut, blue spirulina + pineapple, and açaí. Their homemade granola is delicious and compliments the bowl perfectly. Be sure to plan accordingly when you go. Here are some tips. This shop is tiny but mighty, only about one party can enter and order at a time. Parking is extremely difficult!! Arrive early and expect a wait (45-60 mins). I arrived at 2pm on a Saturday and they stopped taking orders at 2:30 because they were so busy. Despite how busy this little shop is, the service was amazing and everyone was friendly. I waited in line for about 10 minutes to order and once I ordered, my bowl came out an hour later. They can call you when your order is ready or you can set a timer to walk around while you wait. Some of the reviews are bad but that's probably because they weren't prepared. I hope my review helps future customers to know what to expect and give the staff some grace. This is a great place if you have some time to kill, definitely worth the wait! read more

The bowels here are very tasty and perfect for a hot San Diego day and a walk on the beach. The front of the store is very unassuming and it is definitely a take and go place as there is no indoor or outdoor seating. Also if you are not calling your order ahead then anticipate waiting 30-45 minutes to receive your order as they are ALWAYS busy. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and does an amazing job setting a realistic expectation of your wait time which, if you have the time, is definitely worth the wait. I recommended grabbing your order and crossing the street to the boardwalk and walk along the beach... A perfect San Diego day. read more

Had heard this place was top tier and while on my walk this morning saw soo many people enjoying them so decided I needed to try! There is a bit of a wait (quoted 25 minutes) but I did find them to be moving quickly which was appreciated, the acai bowl was packed high with fresh fruit and the acai itself wasn't overly sweet and the perfect consistency! Coming in at $16 I found it it be very filling and portion was well within the price! Will definitely come back to try their wave bowl! read more
