Came for brunch/lunch on Sunday. Order at the counter inside, take a number, and there's seating on the sidewalk outside. The wait was NOT long at all. I was impressed with. The presentation and the speed of the food. The wait staff Was so nice to our puppy--brought him water and said hi. He came inside to order and we all sat outside. The menu has many options for all types of eaters, the lattes was delicious and the pastries looked amazing. The surfer burrito surprised me. It was full of protein and the vegan chorizo was nutty and not fake tasting. Very filling for a smaller sized burrito. I loved the chocolate chip cookie too! Crunch but soft middle and salty and sweet. read more

I went to get my usual fix in the morning. Lexi was the cashier and she went above and beyond. She answered all of my questions and gave me recommendations for my next visit. Parakeet Cafe is a nice addition to Coronado's charming eateries and local shops on Orange Ave. Came to have a nice, hot drink on a Saturday evening stroll, stayed for the cozy and fun aesthetics and friendly staff. I believe it just opened a little over a month ago. Everything is new and well kept. The art and decor are definitely social media-worthy and a cute backdrop for a nice coffee date or a quick pick-me-up. I've been to the location in Little Italy once before and their drink menu is similar, but I haven't had the chance to try their food yet. It looks like breakfast is served all day - which is always a plus in my book! There is a variety of soups/salads, toasts, pastries, and even 'big plate' entree items such as salmon and burgers. I decided to be a bit adventurous and try one of their wellness lattes: the blue mint magic latte, which includes blue spirulina (super algae!), dok anchan (butterfly-pea flower tea - which is a super plant!), mint tea, honey, and almond milk. Thanks to Eric, for not only making it look good, but was also really tasty. I was able to taste the different tea flavors with a touch of sweetness from the honey. My boyfriend had a cortado with oat milk (which he orders at every coffee shop) and says it was solid. The espresso was dialed in well, and it mixed well with the milk. The espresso was slightly sweet and the milk was just the right texture and the right temperature. Overall, we had a great experience and would come again for a tasty drink, try their food menu, and enjoy the beautiful decor. Notes: -street parking -masks required for all customers/staff -social distancing guidelines -outdoor patio seating -food options: breakfast, pastries, other entrees available -able to personalize drink options with milks and syrups -dietary requests available: gluten free, vegan, paleo, keto read more

I was staying nearby and decided to go over to this cafe twice. The inside of the cafe is very cute and ample seating. The lattes, I tried the vanilla latte and the honey cinnamon latte, were both very good and smooth. They do the have a for here cup option which I really appreciate. I decided to try the Belgian waffle this morning -- there were a lot of flowers that I ended up having to pick off, there is also like a bird seed below all of the fruit. Not really a place to sit and work at though, there isn't wifi available. read more

I'm tired of establishments claiming that their food is gluten free when it isn't. Gluten free isn't a fad, it's a real health concern. Half of the menu items are labeled gluten free when really the waffles are made in a shared waffle toaster and the breads are warmed in a shared toaster. Disappointing for an establishment that claims to care about to care about allergies and restrictions (see their quote in the photos). However props to the staff - they're incredibly kind and patient, and the gal who took our order clearly felt bad about the gluten free mislabeling. read more

The food is delicious, the team wonderful and welcoming. Best mocha on the planet. Thank you, Parakeet Coronado!

Love this cafe so much. All the food is delicious, definitely recommend the chilaquiles or the waffle if your feeling sweet one morning. They use homemade almond milk and everything is very fresh and made each day. If you dare to look in the pastry case be prepared to get everything. The zucchini muffin is AMAZING and the vegan options are delish. Baristas are super sweet and such an instagrammable spot. read more

This place has a very cute atmosphere, however, the food was average. The only thing I enjoyed that we ordered was the waffles. The waffles are gluten free and tasted pretty good. The grilled chicken burgers were kind of dry and had too much of the bean spread on the bun. The chicken burger was dry and had more of a bland flavor. The Shakshuka was average as well, the lemme tastes more like a cream cheese and the flavors were more bland as well. However, the Latte and Iced tea were really good and I may come back for another coffee. While the food wasn't what I hoped for, the staff was really nice and all had a smile on their face. The staff was also great with helping us decide what to order and were very friendly. read more

Cute decor with bright and lively colors. Indoor and outdoor seating (in the back and in the front). Food was okay. Our party had the butternut-squash soup, tortilla soup, egg burrito, and the eggs benedict. Most of our dishes were missing items. The butternut-squash soup was missing it's sourdough bread, tortilla soup was missing it's nopales, and the benedict seemed to be missing it's hollandaise sauce. My dish was the eggs benedict and I thought it was rather bland. The best part was honestly the sourdough bread which is rather sad since they advertise the dish to have all these yummy features. Overall, I'd skip. You certainly don't pay for what you get. read more

Parakeet Cafe - Coronado - Lavender Latte..... $5.5 for a small size. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Coronado, California

I love the style of the cafe but it looks like all the employees, or so front of house employees were having an off day or something. They all had an attitude in their face and tone. I asked the young woman for an açaí bowl & wanted what was advertised on your site, with all sorts of berries and bananas, granola and coconut flakes w almond butter. All she said, was "We changed i, it's the same". When I got my bowl, the lady on the juice area was sweet but I was in a time crunch. It was melted by the time I got to my destination plus it only had strawberries, coconut and bananas w almond butter. For an açaí bowl to be $14 is way overpriced especially for the bare minimum. Did not look busy at all but took a while to get my bowl out. Has potential to be great but could be better. Have people who want to work in the mornings because most of that group do not look like morning people. Acai Bowl read more

The restaurant and ambiance is so adorable. A lot of seating options inside and out, but the food is also great for to go. Juices/Coffee/Tea: They have an arrangement of everything which is wonderful. They are also very flexible with customization and substitutions which is awesome. They have hot and cold beverages, along with so many types of teas which are lovely. The cappuccino I had was excellent. Again, you can enjoy your beverage there or get it to go. Food: Wow, is all I can say, I really wanted to try a bit of everything. Their acai bowl was out of this world. An abundance of fruit pouring out of the bowl with a heap of almond butter was just incredible. I reminisce this acai bowl :) Their muffins were just okay, nothing noteworthy, a bit dry, but good none the less. Everything looked insane, and it doesn't look like you can go wrong with any of these choices. read more

Coffee (house brew) was incredible. I got it with oatmilk and it was perfect (taste, temperature, and portion size). I also got a free refill and asked for it in a to-go cup and they were very nice and accommodating to this request. Ambiance was also very nice - the decor, the music, the temperature, good lighting, and the seating was comfortable and spacious. Service was great too. I'm sad to give such a low rating since I love to hype up businesses and find the silver lining but quite frankly I was treated very poorly and I was duped. I was so excited to love this place because their ambiance and decor was sooo beautiful and the menu appeared so unique and tasty. I even told my husband "I really want to try this place their menu is the most unique and creative I have ever seen , their handcrafted drinks look to be one of a kind I've never seen these drinks anywhere else before" So the tale begins on Dec 26th. It was a few blocks away from where I was and I saw that they closed in 10 minutes and being that I'm from out of town I knew it was now or never so my awesome husband sprinted with me and we got there at about 6:56 and they closed at 7pm. The doors were wide open people were still making their orders so I was so excited to have made the cut. When I got to the front of the line the girl looked at me and said "were closed" to which I replied your website says 7 and it's 6:56 would you please take me we sprinted here , and she nodded with kind eyes as if to say "ok your right" so I stayed at the counter waiting to be helped as finished making the drink she was working on, then another worker walks up to me from behind me (she wasn't behind the counter) and says "sorry were closed" to which I replied the same thing I did to the other girl; except this girl looked me up and down and said "were closing early". She was so annoyed that I existed in that moment . I told her that her co worker had already agreed to take my order and she let out a "huff" rolled her eyes and walked away. I waited at the counter for several more minutes without being attended to after that, I could tell the girl that had nodded to me was busy making drinks and the other girl was avoiding me because now she made it uncomfortable. Reluctantly after several minutes and seeing that her Co worker was busy making drinks rude girl finally attended to me. This is where I should have used my own sense. I asked her what her favorite drink was to which she said moon milk . So I ordered it without question. Honestly looking back on it I dunno if they messed it up on purpose to get back at me for not just folding and leaving but if the hours say open, and the sign says open, and the doors are wide open I think your open and to close early usually means hours early or half an hour early not just 4 minutes early because it's convenient for you to turn me away that was so rude. So anyway I proceed to pay $9.70 for a latte about the size of a grande. Keep in mind, I do not waste money and if I have ever bought a latte or a milk tea I didn't like like all that much you'd better believe I'm still gonna finish it because if I spent $5 to $7 bucks on something it's going down thr hatchet period. I say that to say that $9.70 is officially the MOST I have EVER spent on a tea/ latte in my life and I COULDN'T stomach it, 3 baby sips later and I poured the whole thing out it was awful. So looking back on it when I asked her what her favorite drink was she chose the most expensive drink and probably her least favorite. I shouldn't have done that but you know you try to believe in the good in people. Anyway that about sums it up, overall bad treatment and a bad drink that was super expensive. read more

Great kale salad. A little pricey but definitely delicious. Very fresh and healthy. The staff were really friendly and accommodating.

This cafe was so aesthetic and had a lot of vegan options. However, I have to give this place a low review because I found hazardous material in my food. I ordered the falafel burger which tasted good. Sadly, I bit into it towards my last couple bites and found hard sharp pieces in my food which hurt my tooth so bad. pistachio shells are very thick and strong so biting into it, not knowing was extremely painful. I told the nice server and she quickly got the manager without me asking. The manager came over and said, "yeah it's probably pistachio shells, I'll let them know" And walked away. She was very dismissive and didn't care. So I'm sad the manager was rude or else I probably would have given it another chance. Don't bother expecting the manager to be helpful at all.
