Super cute spot with both coffee and eats. Breakfast is served all day. We stuck to caffeine with one of their signature drinks: the iced mint latte. It's very Philz mint mojito-esque. Not too sweet & nice & creamy! Their pastries are baked in-house at their Little Italy location. read more

Good food for vegans looking for grub on Coronado. My plate was delicious. The tofu was AMAZING. My son had a macrobiotic plate with salmon. The salmon came out way later than his plate which wasn't ideal. The vegan chocolate chunk cookie and lavender latte were so tasty I could've got a 2nd round if I wasn't so full. read more

Decent juice place. They don't make it fresh in front of you, but they have all their choices in jars and shots in their refrigerated case. We got their O3 (apple, watermelon, carrot, ginger) and the flavor was good. Their Y2 (apple, lemon, ginger, cayenne) sure was spicy but I would get it again. It was within an hour of closing time and the server didn't seem too happy to still be there. read more

Not sure how good is their coffee, but the wait is too long. Most likely for not having enough team members. The problem is that the space inside is tight, and they do have many tables inside where they deliver your food. So as you are standing for 10minutes to get your drink to go, you are in constant move to avoid hitting the waiters and other waiting. I got the Mayan latte, it is good. Even though I have asked for extra hot and got it warm. Not coming back. Too much hassle. read more

There are many things I can't eat due to dietary restrictions so this place was just perfect! I was hesitant to try something new, other than my usual eggs and toast, but I was sold on the gluten free blue corn waffle suggestion by the cashier. Friendly service, extensive menu including vegan options. I had the roasted greens bowl, which was tasty but definitely could've used more kabocha and polenta croutons (only had about three pieces each). The Brussel sprouts and kale were on the tough side, which was disappointing. The vegan, gluten-free chocolate-oat cookie was more delicious than expected. I got the avocado toast and it had pickled mustard, Serrano peppers, mung beans, cilantro, pumpkin seeds and beet spirals. I added an organic egg for $2 extra. It was $15 for one slice of avocado toast.... I was expecting two slices for the price. So with tax and tip I ended up paying nearly $20 for one slice of toast! However, I was expecting a high cost since I was in Coronado which is a pricey area. As for the taste itself, all of the flavors were delicious together! I make different variations of avocado toast at home and never would have thought to put mustard on my avocado toast but it worked very well. What a welcomed spot to Coronado! Parakeet is a mini chain but everything this company does is top-notch. They are serious about coffee and they have a huge selection of specialty coffee drinks, cold brew and all the alternative milks. Plus their bakery is amazing and they have a large selection of gluten free if you are so inclined. Their avocado toast is unparalelled. You're going to want this. Plus staff are all sweet and very professional. They hire the best and train them well. All this is a beautifully untouched, historic building in Coronado. What could be better?! read more

Great find while biking around Coronado Island. It was prime brunch time on a beautiful Saturday. Places were packed w long waits so we walked a bit abs found Parakeet. So clean and food so fresh. Cute outdoor dining in front or back. All Covid measures being followed. In addition to recommendation on the Eggs Benedict ala Parakeet. Their homemade Chai is perfection. Equal spice and sweet made fresh. My friend really enjoyed the avo on toast w poached egg and smoked lox marinated in beets. The lox was less salty and gorgeous red beet. Tasted clean and fresh. The chilaquiles used to be amazing here, I would come everyday to get some for breakfast. They changed it from red salsa (which was amazing) to a green salsa (which is overly peppery and overall doesn't taste as good). They also added salt cured cactus which doesn't add much to the dish. The green pure/salsa they add is also way too peppery, it overpowers every other flavor. Please bring back the red chilaquiles, drop the salt cured cactus. Whoever the chef was that was preparing the red chilaquiles, I hope you come back. Coffee is decent. read more

The appetizer Spicy Tuna was absolutely delicious, and the dessert was simply heavenly! Lastly, that Pina Colada Cocktail just couldn't be better!! If there's just one thing that could be improved was the speed of service. We even saw other people fanning themselves as well. I also noticed they were very understaffed. We did not have one waiter. It was more like other staff members seeing us looking at them or waiting for drinks to be refilled or looking like we hadn't received our food. We were not the only table struggling to get service. I think they should raise the price of the food to they can afford to pay more staff members because the lack of service was a struggle. We basically had to stop eating our food and grabs someone's attention just to get water. The food was okay, wasn't amazing but wasn't bad at all. Always look forward to buying a deli sandwich during my lunch break but just for them to take my order takes them at least 10 minutes! Mind you, I only get a 30 minute lunch break. And the prepping time takes them 15 minutes! That's already 25 minutes wasted of my lunch just waiting for my sandwich. Today I order a Turkey Wrap. Took them 5 whole minutes for them to take my order and a whole 10 minutes to make my wrap. There was no line for sandwiches except an order of two sandwiches but all I saw were the workers chitchatting amongst each other instead of prepping (hence doing their job). Got my wrap and paid which took less than 2 minutes. While eating my wrap I noticed that my wrap didn't even have turkey in it. Headed over to the deli to see if they could make me a new one but immediately turned around because their workers were just chitchatting with each other and there was already a long line of people waiting on their order. Just went to the cashier to ask for my refund. Didn't even take a picture because I was already so disappointed and frustrated that I just wanted my money back. I really do hope that the deli service gets better.

I usually don't take the time to write restaurant reviews because, honestly, I'd rather be eating than reviewing. But Parakeet Café in Coronado absolutely earned one. Recently my diet has become a game of "What can I eat?" with a growing list of restrictions that has left me frustrated and dreaming about foods I can't have. So finding a place that actually made me excited about eating again felt like striking gold. I ordered the avocado toast on their gluten-free sourdough, and wow--it was delicious. The bread was so good I genuinely didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Gluten-free can sometimes be a gamble, but this was a winning hand. I also tried the lemon blueberry scones, which are gluten-free, vegan, and made without refined sugar--basically checking every box on my current food plan. They were so good that "I'll just have one bite" quickly turned into "Can I get some to go?" The café itself is beautiful, with a cozy boho vibe that feels both stylish and welcoming (basically my dream aesthetic). The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. My only complaint? I wish there was a Parakeet Café closer to where I live because I'd probably become a regular. If you have dietary restrictions--or just appreciate really good food--this place is definitely worth a visit. read more

Our visit to The Parakeet Cafe in Coronado didn't go as planned. We were a group of three looking forward to trying their French omelette and charcoal waffle. Unfortunately, things started off on the wrong foot when the waitress mixed up our number tag. We tried multiple times to let the staff know that our order was missing, but it seemed like they had no idea what was going on even after waiting for almost 1 hour. Frustrated, we asked for a refund. It turned out that the waitress had taken our order to another table by mistake, and they had accepted it, leaving us without our food. To their credit, they did try to make up for the mistake by offering us some free pastries. Ian, one of the employees, sincerely tried to fix the situation. However, the overall experience was tainted by poor communication and mishandling of orders. We understand that it was a busy day, which might have contributed to the mix-up. We hope that The Parakeet Cafe takes our feedback constructively and improves their communication and order management. With better organization, they could provide a more enjoyable dining experience for their customers. read more

I stumbled upon this cafe while walking down the street on Coronado Island, and the sign out front immediately caught my eye, especially since it looked like they had some healthy options. The space itself is super cute, with a patio out front and a really fun, Instagramable type interior. Definitely a great spot if you're looking for a trendy, aesthetic vibe. For drinks, I tried the hot lavender matcha latte and the iced mint matcha latte. The lavender flavor in the matcha was pretty subtle and didn't stand out as much as I'd hoped, but the iced mint matcha really hit the spot, it was easily my favorite of the two. For food, I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and the breakfast burrito. Both were just okay, small and pretty basic, and neither came with a side. For the price, it felt a bit underwhelming. Overall, it's a cute place with a great atmosphere and some solid drinks, but the food didn't quite justify the cost for me. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more

Parakeet Cafe Coronado is one of my favorite spots in the area! The cafe has such a welcoming atmosphere, the food is fresh and delicious, and the coffee is always made perfectly. Everything I've tried has been flavorful, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. A special shoutout to Bree, one of the baristas, who always provides amazing customer service. She is friendly, attentive, and makes every visit feel personal and enjoyable. It's clear she genuinely cares about creating a great experience for guests. If you're looking for great coffee, healthy food options, and a friendly environment, I highly recommend Parakeet Cafe Coronado! read more

Stopped in for coffee recently and had a great experience. The coffee was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and made exactly right. Bree, the barista, was especially friendly, welcoming, and provided outstanding customer service that made the visit even better. The atmosphere was inviting and the shop was clean and well-kept. My only small complaint was that the music was a bit too loud at times, which made conversation a little difficult. Other than that, everything was fantastic. I'll definitely be back for another coffee and to see Bree's great customer service again! read more

Today we visited Parakeet in Coronado and absolutely loved it. The place is modern, pink, and super fun. We had breakfast on the sidewalk, and it was an excellent experience--live music at the park across the street made it even better. The coffee was fabulous. We ordered the Mayan Mocha, and that subtle spicy kick is a must-try--it truly stands out. Plus, Bree K's artwork is beautiful and adds so much to the overall experience. Azalea took amazing care of us, and we'll definitely be back soon. P.S. Don't leave without trying the green scrambled eggs read more

Why 4 stars and not 5? The shakshuka, unfortunately, missed the mark--watery, bland, and just not what you'd expect from a place with otherwise great vibes. On the flip side, my wife's toast was superb--beautifully balanced and delicious. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and the coffee has potential but could use a bit more punch. Here's my plea to the kitchen: either level up the shakshuka or consider replacing it with something that truly shines. You've got something special here--don't let a subpar dish hold it back. read more

We had such a great experience at Parakeet Cafe! Azalea and Ava were incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. They were patient with our questions and gave great recommendations. My whole family really enjoyed all the food -- everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I have to admit, I wasn't sure I'd like the turmeric latte, but Bree made it absolutely delicious. It was perfectly balanced and surprisingly smooth. We'll definitely be coming back! read more

This spot near Hotel del Coronado immediately stands out with its cute, bright, and cheerful color palette--it's the kind of place that's very photo-friendly and inviting. The pastries were good overall: fresh and enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. I also tried the Mango Bliss, which was fine but didn't quite live up to the name--it tasted fine but a bit underwhelming. Overall, it's a nice place to stop by for the vibe and a casual treat, but not necessarily a must-visit for standout flavors. read more

This restaurant chain Is fantastic! I had tried the one in new port beach and we have been going to the one here in Coronado since we're staying at the del hotel. Absolutely amazing French toast with good matcha lattes! Jessica took our order and helped us pick out the bee sharp bowl for açaí. I only wish the blob of royal jelly wasn't just in the middle and more like drizzled like the hazelnut. The rain eventually stopped and the sunshine came in just in time. We will be back that's a given! read more

I love Parakeet Cafe!! The place is very pretty and the service is amazing! I'm Mexican and it's always hard to find good Mexican food, but I had the chilaquiles today and they were sooo good. The place is kind of cute and food was alright, but the music was very loud and we found it difficult to have a conversation. I asked the staff if they could turn down the music a little and was told that they get a lot of complaints about the music but the owner won't let them turn it down. It is unfortunate because we just moved to Coronado and are looking for a nice breakfast spot, but this place won't be it. read more

Came to parakeet on a Thursday and they were pretty busy. The food was so good. We ordered the chicken caesar wrap and the benedict. Best food we've had on the island!
