I came in again for breakfast and it was a miserable experience. It is shockingly loud and having a conversation is difficult. We live in Coronado and go out to breakfast almost everyday, but unfortunately we won't come back here again because this is an on-going problem. The staff told me tons of people complain and the owner gets mad and insists that the music stay cranked at high volume. So strange because I am sure she is losing a lot of business. read more

Super glad I stopped by here while I was walking around. Ended up getting the mint latte and the salted maple latte. 12/10 for both. The mint latte was very refreshing and the salted maple latte was salty but in the best way ever where you could taste the salt but it wasn't overbearing. Sort of like that perfect dusting on your chocolate cookie you didn't realize you wanted but now need. It's a vibe. Very hipster. Very chic. Very "Instagram or it didn't happen." I am a tourist in town for the weekend and I have eaten here every day. The inside is fun and colorful just like the food, and the people who work here are super friendly and attentive. Great coffee (coffee snob approved) and mimosas (Connoisseur approved) . The chilaquiles and the breakfast burrito are both great options. I'm usually a red sauce kind of person but their green sauce is very tasty. Chips were perfect consistency in the chilaquiles, definitely add that egg! super cute! I've been to the location in Little Italy, which I love, but this location is definitely in competition with LI. It's very spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. It even has 2 separate room for coffee & juices! We stumbled across this parakeet by chance, we happened to be craving a smoothie during 90 degree weather. It was a little busy on a Friday afternoon but not crowded. I went for the Mango Bliss w/chamoy smoothie, it was sooo good! I knew the moment I set eyes on this cute spot that I would love it. From the pink neon signs to the adorable parrots everywhere, you can't help but appreciate how cute this spot is. If the atmosphere wasn't enough, the food was INCREDIBLE. The avocado eggs Benedict was one of my favorites of all time. The addition of the poblano peppers really took it to the next level. The rose latte had a subtle rose flavor and was adorable. The waffle had an interesting cream sauce, fruit compote, and fruit. The edible flowers on top were the perfect touch. After we finished breakfast, we got a vanilla sunset smoothie from the smoothie bar on the other side. So glad I did not pass the smoothies up. Great atmosphere and diverse menu at this local chain, but I found my açaí bowl to be a little too sweet. The coffee menu is also huge and I ordered a mint iced latte with almond milk. I got it less sweet and this was super good and was highly caffeinated. Sadly, the classic açaí bowl was a little plain on ingredients and toppings and tasted like there was some added sugar which it doesn't need. The strawberries and bananas on top were fresh but the granola was so hard I thought it would break my teeth. I'd come back and maybe try lunch, but solid coffee stop! read more

This place is a gluten free paradise! While they have several choices in their bakery case for us gluten free folk, I decided to go for the Chef's Special. A blue corn waffle that I describe as a fluffy tortilla chip. Smashed avocado. Feta. Radish. With a over easy egg on top. Side of salsa verde. Perfect flavored bites. My daughter got the loaded Belgian waffles. Nutella. Whipped cream. Fresh fruit and nasturtiums. Delicious and huge portion. She could only eat half. So you are asking why 4 stars and not more? I got a cup of drip coffee and asked for almond milk. I don't know if it was the coffee or the almond milk but the second I added the almond milk to the coffee, it curdled. Gross right? After years of neglect, Coronado, you finally have an amazing breakfast spot! Having been to every Parakeet in San Diego, I consider myself somewhat of an addict with a treasure trove of loyalty points saved up. I have a lot of out of state family, and any time I take them to a Parakeet location, they want to go back. This location is unique because it splits the Café and Juicery into separate entrances. Here are some of my go to items: From the Juicery- Brazillian Bowl: (I add pineapples) This is easily the best açaí bowl in the entire city. There is no contest. Quality açaí, not too runny not too thick. All their toppings are fresh and the granola is gluten free. Fit 4 Life: This shake is solid, I usually get the larger size, especially after a workout or if I just need some extra protein. From the Café- Overnight Oats: Trust me on this, try this out. It is so surprisingly good, you will be addicted to it. Yogurt Bowl: Amazing substitute when I want a break from my açaí bowl and really great yogurt. Eggs Benedict on toast: Prepare for the best version of the avocado toast. It will blow you away. You can't really go wrong, you'll see the waffles and what other people order and they all look great. Their Wild Salmon Burger is surprisingly amazing. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Not sure how good is their coffee, but the wait is too long. Most likely for not having enough team members. The problem is that the space inside is tight, and they do have many tables inside where they deliver your food. So as you are standing for 10minutes to get your drink to go, you are in constant move to avoid hitting the waiters and other waiting. I got the Mayan latte, it is good. They changed it from red salsa (which was amazing) to a green salsa (which is overly peppery and overall doesn't taste as good). They also added salt cured cactus which doesn't add much to the dish. The green pure/salsa they add is also way too peppery, it overpowers every other flavor. Please bring back the red chilaquiles, drop the salt cured cactus. Whoever the chef was that was preparing the red chilaquiles, I hope you come back. Coffee is decent. read more
