This was my second time in Denver and my second trip to Panzano. This was by far the best meal we had here. The brussel sprouts are a don't miss! I ordered the risotto and it was creamy and perfectly seasoned. The charcuterie plate was the best I've had. Like everything in Denver, the atmosphere is casual but with some sophistication. If you are looking for Italian taken to another level, don't miss Panzano! read more

Panzano wrapped my 5280 Restaurant Week very strongly. It was my second best experience this week. Panzano experiences that stood out: thank you card for free tiramisu next time one of us dines there, their entire menu available for 5280, Executive Chef Elise Wiggins personally greeting us and then seeing if she could get my fellow diner a container of their imported Italian cherries. They were all opened, but it was a magnanimous gesture. Amongst the four of us, we attacked their menu ferociously starting with all four appetizers. They won us over especially with the brussel sprouts. The formaggio plate was small for the actual menu price. I definitely recommend purchasing MouCo cheeses on their own. Second course was smoked mozzarella soup and insalata misti. The smoked mozzarella soup was great, though it didn't quite beat Colterra's. And the salads were readily finished. Then the main entrees and the lustworthy Pollo Val d'Aosta. Imagine thin layers of chicken lightly breaded with layers of crispy prosciutto. So delicious, so awe-inspiring, so not my order. I sampled the prosciutto which was great. The cured meat ravioli was quite filling. The flakes of parmesan (??) were a nice touch. We managed to have all four desserts: trio of gelato, trio of sorbet (cheers to the black currant), tiramisu (ladyfingers done right according to my friend), and Cioccolato Cannoli (which sparked the cherry inquiry). All in all, a great food experience shared between friends. Panzano provided excellent service, amazing attention from a variety of staff. Go there for 5280. read more

One word...YUM!!! After a long day of traveling I decided to go downstairs to grab a bite to eat. I had eaten lunch here the previous month and my friend and I split a pizza and salad at the bar. It was fantastic and it continued with my next visit. I started with the Grilled Caesar salad. After the delicious bread and tomato tapenade showed I realized I'd better watch my portions. Will, my waiter, realized that I was grappling over two dishes and offered to order for me. To my surprise I was brought a 1/2 order of each menu item so that I could try both! Wow..amazing service. I tried both the scallops over risotto and the tagliatelle with goat cheese and dried cranberries. Although I LOVED the scallops, I have to say that the pasta was killer! I would eat it over and over again. To top it off, I was given a piece of tiramisu...which rocked, but I could barely eat any of it per everything I have mentioned above. I will absolutely go back. It was awesome! read more

Anthony Bourdain has a funny screed against the "hotel restaurant," but Panzano is really a fine restaurant that happens to be in a hotel. I stayed over in Denver on business at the Monaco and stumbled downstairs for a meal with his words in mind. In this case, forced by a tight work schedule, I was just trusting to luck. And luck was kind. Panzano does Italian, but not in the "carb of your choice and red sauce" way. There is a wood fire oven where they do pizzas, fresh breads and pastries. The breads are delicious and are served with a nice tapenade. They also have a grill where they make an extraordinary salad. I had the grilled Caesar salad with chicken. Get it with the chicken. They quick grill the romaine leaves, wilting them slightly, and taking the stiffness out of them. Still the leaves are crunchy. The chicken breast covers what looks like something from the dissecting table in the movie "Aliens," but it is a delicious mess. The grilled lettuce has a wonderful smokey flavor. And what is that I see? Is it really an anchovy? It is. There is a risk in adding this much maligned fish to any dish. They have taken it and for this reviewer, it pays off. I wish I had more time to explore the rest of the menu to see if they're equally adventurous with all of their dishes. Well worth a visit, whether you're a wayward business traveler or local. read more

This place is amazing. I could t have dreamed up a better restaurant. The staff was pleasant, the food was out of this world, and the ambiance was very classy but not stuffy or obnoxiously dark. I would recommend this place to the fussiest people, including my grandmothers who have been cooking hand made meals for their families their entire lives -one of which is Italian. The pasta is so worth every carb calorie... The portion size is perfect too. Definitely not a pasta dish that makes you say "I hate myself" right after. I left feeling amazing... My wallet not so much! With quality comes a high price tag unfortunately. I'm not complaining. This place is great. I would definitely come back for dinner anytime I'm in Colorado/Denver again. read more

Panzano is located in Hotel Monaco. It's well appointed, although the layout is a bit odd. I came here during restaurant week with a large group of friends. Our main waiter was very efficient, and accommodating in splitting checks. Our choices were limited due to the restaurant week menu, but all the choices looked delicious. I loved the calamari and brussel sprout appetizers. The scallops I ordered for an entree were also very good, although the portion was tiny! My husband's entree was not as good, unfortunately. I got the chance to try 3 desserts; creme brûlée, tiramisu, and olive oil cake. I must say, I've heard good things about the olive oil cake, but didn't have the guts to order it. Turns out, that was a good decision. Glad to have finally tried it, but the creme brûlée was so much better. The tiramisu is probably the best I've ever had. Although the food was pretty decent, it was a bit overpriced. A nice experience, but there are far better restaurants in Denver. read more

Great food, stellar service, and great ambiance - what more could I ask for??? Had a Caesar salad with crispy capers and grilled chicken. One of the best salads I've had in a while (ummm can we all just agree to put crispy capers on everything please???). My server Nealey was super fantastic despite a very busy lunch rush. And my food came out so fast that it seemed like I hadn't even finished ordering yet before it was in front of me. Will definitely be back! read more

Ahhhh forgot to review this place after my visit, but have had great experiences here! Before moving to Denver, I would stay at the Monaco when traveling for work. Panzano was the easy and quick choice for breakfast every morning - found that everything here was so hearty and unlike what you find at most restaurants connected to a hotel. And you get treated like royalty...even at 7am! After moving here, I finally got to try their dinner - Not a chance you will find seafood this fresh and flavorful anywhere else in Denver. It's seriously worth every penny to get food that was probably swimming 24 hours prior. My next visit will be for happy hour. According to the rest of the reviews they have one of the best downtown! read more

This review is for Happy Hour at Panzano as I've never had the pleasure of a full meal there. The atmosphere is a little old school, but I find it charming and the food was spectacular and priced well. Upon arriving at 4:30 on a Tuesday, I was directed by the hostess to sit wherever I'd like. The bar was bustling and the mood was cheerful. I was greeted right away by our server, who was helpful and attentive despite a full house. I love that the menu is so versatile and that you can choose from an array of drinks for $5 and that small plates range from $6-8. A great deal for great food, and 3 plates each was more than enough for my girlfriend and I (We each had some food left). I loved everything that I tried! The Brussels Sprouts were light but sweet (in just the right way), the gnocchi balanced out the Brussels by being drenched in butter and truffle oil (still dreaming about these) and the chicken scallopini was moist (it was so good I will use that word even though I hate it) that it practically melted in my mouth! Also had a great Prosecco for $5 that was wonderfully sweet without being overly so or dry as Proseccos often are. Happy Hour at Panzano definitely has left me intrigued and looking forward to returning for a full meal in the near future. read more

First off the service was amazing. Demetri was really quirky and nice - checked on me many times and I didn't have to ask for anything! Loved the calamari. Delicious sauce! Breads were fabulous. Yummy bread dip. Got a free sample of brussel sprouts. I don't really love them fried, but they were tasty with the apple. I didn't love the Vitello pasta -- but I can see why others like it... I'm picky about my pasta. The pasta tasted fried. Vitello Bolognese 28.00 did half portion $14.00 Braised veal shortrib, farro fazzoletti pasta, puglian tomatoes, ricotta broth. I'm just not a huge fried fan, I think the calamari was great fried -- simply because it was lightly fried - it's a huge portion! Share! You can get half price half portion of many entrees. Overall I loved the decor and the service and I think the food is high quality -- just need to try some of the other dishes. read more

Food was good but a bit overpriced. My biggest beef was with the service. I ordered and received my pasta dish literally within one minute, which suggested I got someone else's mis-order, or that they just make a crapload in advance of the evening rush. I also got excellent bread, but after finishing my pasta the waiter was at my table taking everything away. Why the rush? People don't pay these inflated prices because the food is worth it -- they pay because of the otherwise pleasant atmosphere in which to relax. read more

"The food: mmmm, so it wasn't bad, just ok: the calamari was breaded heavily, the main dish was flavorful but I wasn't bowled over by deliciousness and I was disappointed by the rationing of portions that seemed to be the norm; however, the saving grace for the entire experience was the Franciscan Merlot for the table and my Torta al Cioccollato e Limone Genovese for dessert that managed to smooth things over (sorta)...... Just what I was looking for. A cozy but hip ambiance, great food, great bar, great service. I cheated just a bit. I know Kimpton Hotels have superb restaurants. I had a local CO wheat beer, a grilled ceasar salad, striped bass with yellow pepper sauce and smoked mozzarella risotto. The best part is that I came in by myself on a business trip and the server, Frankie, was charming and attentive. read more

This is my second stay at Hotel Monaco, but my first visit to Panzano for dinner. I enjoyed a long and far-too-large meal at Panzano two nights ago. We started with a bottle of Lambursco prosecco which was incredible. You owe it to yourself to drink a whole bottle someday. We ordered the Piadina and the duck liver mousse. It was my first time to try anything from a duck and it's the stuff dreams are made of. It comes with a cranberry orange compote and thyme-parmesan zeppole. A revelation. Our main courses took a little too long to come out, so we were totally out of room by the time they came. I tried the carbonara - after everything else being so good, I was surprised that I had to salt it. It's not something I would order again since it just didn't have much flavor. I did try a bite of my friend's gnocchi. It had so many strong flavors including gorgonzola, rabbit, scallions, brown butter, and red pepper - everything was kind of jockeying for first place and left my palate a bit confused. All that said, Panzano is a must-try. There are so many options, the service is wonderful, and most of the food is totally delicious. I'll be back. Terminator-style. Whatever that means. read more

Stopped by for lunch. Nicely decorated place in downtown Denver next to boutique hotel. Greeters were very friendly. We had the caesar salad with grilled chicken, the soup of the day and the tagliatelle pasta. All dishes were really good. The past was especially fresh and you can tell it was made earlier. Very fresh and tasty with great spices. The salad was fresh, crisp and had a great dressing on it. Not too heavy, but light and tasty with hint of lemon. Nice place. Will return someday for dinner. read more

This is review for the Power Lunch I wish we have a Panzano in New York! I came with 4 friends here for a quick lunch as some of them were going to catch a flight. It was amazing how they managed to get our lunch in such a short span of time and yet it came absolutely delicious. Like: setting, atmosphere, food quality & taste, friendly service, attention to details, excellent bread, good value Dislike: absolutely nothing Each of us ordered different lunch, some ordered 3 course lunch set and some just ordered 1 main course, not only they all came at right timing, at the end of the meal, they packed us chocolate for the road. Most importantly, they actually split the bill for us to exactly each of ordered without us asking. We thought we'd just split by 5 credit card, but they actually remembered what each of us ordered and put the right amount to each credit card. Amazing! I wish all the restaurant has the same level of service!!! read more

We normally skip the restaurant located in our hotel but Panzano was a convenient dinner spot during a sudden Denver snowstorm. We could not have been more pleased! The grilled Caesar exceeded expectations and the pancetta was amazing. We are will be back to try other items on the innovative menu. read more

We only had breakfast here since we were staying at the hotel. I love my scrambled eggs and consider myself an eggs connoisseur. These eggs were perfectly scrambled, not too dry - just a tad moist. Perfect. Turkey sausage actually tasted like meat! I usually don't like breakfast meats bc they are often soaked in oil and taste like salty cardboard. Here, the sausage tasted like a sausage! The potatoes were chopped in small pieces and well done. Only gripe was the food came out rather slow for 8am and it took a while to get our plates cleared and get the check. Maybe they were understaffed for the morning. read more

Holy happy hour! I have been to Panzano's twice now, once after a wild day at Elitches with my fellow Yelper, Amanda H, and again tonight for a friend's birthday. Great drink specials at $4 drafts, $5 wine, and $6 specialty cocktails, and mini-plates for all $5,$ 6, and $7... wowza! Recommendations: Cucumber gin spritzer is a dream if you love gin as much as I do, or if you tend to stray away from the fruity drinks. They have one more gin cocktail on the menu which I did not try, but sounded fantastic as well! Between the two times I've here, I've either ordered myself or sampled off someone else's plate, but I never felt disappointed with the food. The fried brussels sprouts are mind blowing, even when you don't like brussels sprouts (I don't). The fungi pizza is much more fabulous than it sounds (trust me!), but then again who can hate something with truffle oil? The tortellini con zucca di giala was great, however maybe slightly too rich, as mine was swimming in brown butter sauce. The ragu di agnello was perhaps my favorite, though. The veal was tender, rich, and had great texture, and the pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente. Very excellent all around! I will most definitely be returning, and soon! read more

Had an excellent breakfast here while staying in the Hotel Monaco. They had an amazing fresh-baked honey walnut wheat bread. You can see the guys shaping and baking the bread right behind the counter. I had two eggs with sausage and the aforementioned toast. It came with a tasty potato hash as well. Great orange juice. Extremely friendly and attentive service. read more

Went here last night for date night. To be honest, the only reason we went was because they were offering a 1000 point special offer on opentable (so bad I know!). It was so good! First of all, our server was rad. She went over the menu in detail which was so nice as we didn't know what most of the items were. She gave recommendations without being pushy and made sure to check on us periodically. Plus she had a great demeanor - friendly without being annoying. The food was amazing. If you like Brussel Sprouts (which I know not everyone does) you need to order theirs! They are so good - a combination of Brussel sprouts, pistachios, and green apples. I know this sounds a little bizarre but it worked! I ordered the pastiche - so good! The noodles (made daily in-house are so yummy!). Finally, we ordered the Budino for dessert. Just as a heads up - this dessert does run out! So if you want it (which is definitely worth it) I would check with your server. I usually don't like butterscotch pudding but this was fabulous - I think it was the touch of salted caramel that made the dish. This is definitely a place I'd go back to for a special occasion or if we wanted to impress people. read more

Rating the HH at Panzano. My favorite were the brussel sprouts. It had a nice balance of sweetness and tartness. The additional pistachios and grated apples gave it some nice texture. The beignets were more of a tempura. The food was delicious, service was great but the price was a little high for hh. read more

Chef Zach delighted us with Pepe Nero Fazzoletti with black garlic and seared scallops and both were divine! We started with the calamari which was also amazing. LOVE LOVE LOVE Panzano! I was staying at Hotel Monaco, so my mother and I decided to grab a bite to eat while waiting for my sister to meet us. Best happy hour EVER! The food was superb and I cannot believe how little they charged for it! I would have easily paid triple that amount and still be satisfied. The drinks were also very reasonable ($5 cocktails, $4 wine, $3 beer!) and they are heavy handed on the liquor! Strongest $5 cocktails I have ever had! Service can be a tad slow, but you won't really care while sipping your strong ass drink that cost you next to nothing. My only regret is that I did not find time during my trip to actually have a full dinner or lunch there and try the Tiramisu (which the staff member at the front desk suggested). Guess I have a reason to come back! read more

Ive been to Panzano for brunch, and now for happy hour, and it is delicious! For brunch, they do bottomless Bellinis! So great! High quality food with a great atmosphere. Was here for Sunday Brunch and enjoyed thoroughly. Great bottomless mimosa special $11 (I did not partake this time) and a nice wine by the glass list. My only complaint was that one of the eggs on my eggs Benedict was not runny at all. I did not feel like sending it back, so its not a full complaint I guess. But the rest of the dish was very good. read more

Excellent happy hour. I also appreciated the ability to order 1/2 portions for take out. Great service too.

Betsy G. My coworkers and I went for HH - surprisingly it was packed at 3:30 pm midweek. Very good food and drinks - enjoyed the atmosphere. Unfortunately the waitress was a bit frazzled - possibly short staffed. But those things happen. Other than that, I'd definitely go again. read more

First off, let me say that the service here was impeccable; it was a much higher quality than I had anticipated. We started off with the Calamari Fritti, which had a great batter that's unlike most other restaurants and tasted delicious. For my entrée, I opted for the Scallopine di Vitello - a wonderful veal dish that's hard to pass up. The veal was tender, potatoes were wonderful, and the sun-dried tomatoes and spinach added a great depth to the dish which I wasn't expecting. I also sampled the Capesante - pan seared sea scallops with polenta. I've eaten more than my share of seafood and know it can be difficult to prepare scallops properly; these were melt-in-your-mouth good with a nice crunch from a quick pan-searing. I will certainly return in the future; the food at Panzano is of the utmost in local Italian fare. read more

We arrived late after a business party to a basically empty restaurant. I really like the space and the wine was fantastic. Service was good. Risotto was really overly salty, so much that I didn't eat it. The fillet Mignon was great. Some of the pastas looked weird with nuts and berries in them. I'm pretty traditional when it comes to Italian foods, so those were really not my bag. Overall, not my favorite meal during our trip to Denver. read more

We went here for our anniversary during restaurant week, and Panzano definitely lived up to its reputation. First of all, the service was some of the best I've encountered. Professional, yet friendly. The manager stopped by our table at the end of our meal to hear about our experience. Second, their restaurant week menu was great. Many places seem to go cheap or efficient above all else on restaurant week, but Panzano does it right. Highlight some of the best items on the menu, and get it down pat. I'm sure that isn't easy, but we will be coming back because of it. Third, the food was fantastic. We had the calamari to start, and both that and the bread was fantastic. I ordered a seafood bouillabaisse, and although it was very good, some of the mussels did seem slightly off. I've found in Colorado this isn't rare, but it is a minor thing that keeps me from giving Panzano five stars. My husband's ravioli was better, and I will probably order it myself next time. Overall, Panzano was just a lovely experience and I left feeling like they truly value their customers. read more

We went during restaurant week, and I was amazing. I had the soup, a rabbit gnochi something and chocolate patte for desert. It was all pretty amazing. It is one of those restaurant week experiances where you WILL return for a regular dinner!! The real star here though, is happy hour. Which starts at 2:30 on Sat and goes till 6. I went with friends on Friday night. The service was OUTSTANDING and the food was good. First of all, they do validate parking if you valet at the Hotel Monoco. AMAZING: THE SERVICE. We had a team of waiters at our beck & call and they were lovely. Brussel Sprouts were heavenly Gluten-free bread. WOW! Caprese Salad - YUM! GOOD: Cilantro Wheat Bread (they'll bring you butter and/or oil if you ask) Asparagus Risotto OKAY: Grilled Caesar Salad (The slightly more expensive) Chianti It was such a pleasurable experience in such a quaint and non-pretensious atmosphere. I"ll definitely be back eventually. read more

LoVe the Hotel Monaco and LoVe this restaurant. And we never even sat down at a table there. You guessed it. Room Service! And while we retreated to downtown Denver for a much anticipated getaway, we decided to order in on multiple days because it was so remarkably delish the first time! Hubby loved the Caesar salad, said it was the best he's tasted in a very long time. My fav was their take on eggplant parmigiana. The pastas were amazing. Soooooo, if the food was this yum delivered, I can only imagine how mouth watering and amazing it will be when we next get to Denver and actually venture inside its doors! read more

Intriguing flavor combinations that sounded odd together but worked extremely well with the taste buds. Suggest going with a group of people so that you can taste a lot of different items. Brussel sprouts are a must and most unique version I've experienced. The flatbread with the prosciutto and truffle oil gets thumbs up. As an FYI all of the pasta entrées can be ordered as a half order. I got half of gnocchi with duck and the pastiche. Pastiche was so interesting. Best flavor combos I've had in awhile without being overdone. Recommend butterscotch pudding and strawberry pepper creme brûlée for dessert. read more

What an incredible dinner! Still 1 of the best restaurants in Denver. The food, service and wine were all spectacular.

This place was amazing! By far my favorite meal while in Denver. When we initially walked in we felt a little under dressed but as it got more crowded we weren't so worried. Our server was very friendly and helpful with the menu to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. My husband had spaghetti with meat sauce and I had the lasagna with meat sauce. Both were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place! read more
