Soooo good! We had calamari (delicious!), Brussels sprouts (amazing!), and the meatballs (yummy!) to start. Our dinner was also great but the appetizers were the stars:) service was professional but a little hurried which kind of irritated me because this place ain't cheap AND we were sitting in the bar. I'd still go back:) read more

I don't know if I have ever legitimately been blown away by a meal like I was with this place. The dishes I had were truly unique flavor and absolutely amazing. Started with the Insalata Di Funghi and had the Tonno Palermitana (Pan seared tuna, spring english pea puree, tomatoes, capers, kalamata olives, oregano) which was one of THE most beautiful looking dishes I have seen and the flavor left me absolutely speechless at lunch. SO FREAKING GOOD. I am wondering how I can have this dish more often!! Service was prompt and this place made for a very nice business lunch spot. Will absolutely be back again! read more

Short & sweet: Service: 5 Food: 3 Wait time: 4 Price: 3 Cleanliness of bathroom: 5 (was in the connecting hotel) In prose: For Denver Restaurant Week, we went to Panzano, after reading an article that stated it would be one of the restaurants that would give us the most bang for our buck; it was one of the few restaurants that offered four courses as opposed to the regular three. 52.80 for a four-course meal is very reasonable. That said, I felt sadly... unsatisfied after each course, and subsequently the meal. Appetizers: Calimari with a spicy Italian chili aioli, & Crespelle ai Funghi (Hazel Dell mushroom stuffed crepes, fonduta sauce, white truffle oil) Second: Insalata Mista (hand picked organic greens, sherry vinaigrette) & Smoked mozzarella, tomato soup Entrees: Pollo Val d'Aosta (Lightly breaded chicken layered with prosciutto and fontina cheese over mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach) & Melanzane Fritte (Lightly breaded eggplant over rustic pomodoro, fresh basil, goat cheese and balsamic vinegar reduction) Dessert: Tiramisu I'm no food expert so the most I can say about the food is whether it tasted good to me or not, and it was good. It was quite all right. My calimari was cooked fully, my chicken was all right, and the mashed potato on which the chicken and prosciutto rested on was also good. But it just wasn't great. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was expecting Panzano to somehow be more. Maybe I got this from the fancy-schmancy names of the entrees, but then again, most food give off the delicious vibe on paper; I could make my grilled cheese sound glamorous.. The tomato soup was good (rather like Campbell's canned tomato bisque - my grilled cheese's accompaniment) but my mista salad consisted of only salad greens + vinaigrette. I hadn't realized small things such as salad toppings, if not listed on the menu, are not part of the meal. My mistake.. but the salad was still plain and a let-down. Any time I think, 'I could make this at home in less than five minutes' is bit of a downer. On the other hand, the tiramisu was quite delicious. Fluffy and light, it complemented my espresso (an add-on I ordered) delightfully. The mushroom crepe appetizer was also fabulous. But I cringe thinking of the full price of the crepe that I could have easily eaten in two bites. I know, how bourgeois of me. Our servers were meticulous and very kind which was very nice. My water was topped off constantly - it was as if I had the never-empty-glass. Alas, the final question: would I go back? To my understanding, we were given a greatly reduced price on all of the courses of the meal and still found it unsatisfactory, so no, I would not go back for a regular dining experience. read more

We've eaten here three times over the last three days! The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions. We had the ribeye special and it was out of this world good! The specialty drinks are great too! Do not pass up the chicken and waffles and the Eggs Benedict Panzano. The polenta and pesto was so good we had it again the next day! The butterscotch pudding was also delicious! read more

RAVE REVIEW HERE! Spent last night downtown, to celebrate the husband's birthday, and had breakfast here. The breakfast was terrific, had avocado toast and pancakes with sausage. Advanced yumminess! Then I noticed the very cool shirts that wait staff were wearing, and I asked my new friend Katie about them. She was saying they are great, they never stain, and don't wrinkle either. Get this: she went in the back, and gave one to my husband for his birthday!!! We will be back to the great Hotel Monaco, and the superb service of Panzanos! read more

Good spot but all the entrees were very heavy with no balance or relief. If you enjoy that type of food it's a good place but not the best Italian in the city. I love the environment and people that attend. read more

The Ladies were in the mood for something fine dining and upscale. And we were not disappointed! Even in the middle of the week it was hard to get in without reservations. Thankfully we were able to get a big table at the bar! We enjoyed amazing drinks, outstanding appetizers, and amazing entrees. I ordered a Ginger Cherry Lime Aid, the group ordered the Beet Salad and Fried Calamari Appetizers, and I got the Lasagna al Forno as my entrée. The drink was VERY Gingery, but refreshing. The Beets with Goat Cheese were delicious! The fried Calamari seemed fresher than most I've had even right on the coast! Even the fresh baked Bread and Olive Tepanad they brought to the table were a delight. But, the highlight for me was the Lasagna. Now, I love Lasagna... and they asked if I wanted meat sauce but reccomended I try it without. I'm so glad I did as this was easily the most delicious lasagna I've had on my entire life! The sauce was bright and fresh, the pasta was tender and cooked to perfection. The cheese was delicate and the fresh herbs made the whole plate a delight. After all that we somehow managed to save room for some desserts. We ordered a few and shared them all... and each one was as amazing as the last! read more

Everything we had here was absolutely amazing. Even the tap water was good. The server was good. His name was Pat and he was attentive but not overbearing. The carpaccio was DEVINE! The bruschetta was okay but the bread under it was not the best. The short ribs, polenta, and kale was DELICIOUS!! The Bolognese was yummy as well!! I would definitely recommend this place... oh yeah the tiramisu was good but nothing stood out about it read more

BEST MEAT AND CHEESE APP PLATE EVER. Brussels Sprouts also ahhh-maaaazing. Cavolini di Bruxelles -- Brussels sprouts Fattoria Piatto -- cheese, charcuterie board The only reason why they lost a star is because I was too spoiled from my first course (above) that my main course wasn't good enough for me by the time it came around. I admit that is probably what happened. I ordered the pan seared scallops with gnundi (Capesante) and although the scallops were perfectly cooked, I felt the dish was missing some much-needed acidity due to the richness of the scallops and gnudi. But that's first world problems. Also, they make a great pre-dinner negroni and a killer post-dinner espresso and grappa. GRAZI! read more

I don't even like Italian food, since it's always tasted lackluster & lazy. Although pricey, their Bolognese is literally the best I've tasted in my whole life. Makes me almost want to rethink my evaluation about Italian food in general. (I won't... but this spot will definitely be the exception to my personal rule.) 10/10, would definitely recommend. Very early family diners, restaurant staff shoved us to main drag hall table although not yet busy. As a test, I asked showcase cook staff for a redirect to cook-viewing table. He, sadly, not empowered to make happy customer accommodation, said "go to front desk." We quickly ate & bolted. During entire stay, all better table options remained open. Rather than a 3X dollar spend, we departed for friendlier environs. Friends, when restaurants fail, do not fret. Let the free market prevail. read more

I took my boyfriend for his birthday here. He told me this is one of his favorite restaurants to go to. So, sweet surprise for him. I enjoy their food. You can tell they take their menus seriously by the details in the food. I took him for lunch and it was worth the price! They had a huge array of great food and drinks for a fraction of he price. I absolutely love their brussel sprouts with slices of green apples. The tart flavor at the end with the crunch was a great counterply of texture and taste. I set up a reservation for 2 for us through open table, but it was early enough I didnt need it. The bar area was pretty empty until about 300pm. So, if you go early for their happy hour around 2:30 you should be ok to just walk in. read more

The food is actually quite nice, especially the rabbit gnocchi. The spinach salad was okay, fresh leaves, but otherwise fairly uneventful. The Brussel sprouts tasted a bit too fried. My only real issue was the service. We had to ask for silverware numerous times, were given bread and butter without a knife. When our entrees came we had to ask for forks for two people in our party. Maybe he had a long day, but he didn't seem super exited or invested to deal with us during the entirety of our meal. Update 12/27/15 Gave this place another try, and this time it was fantastic. Great meat and cheese plate, and the NY strip bone-in steak that our server Stephanie recommended was amazing. read more

I've been to Panzano a few times for dinner with friends, birthday dinners, restaurant week and date night. The food is always delicious and the service outstanding. The service is always outstanding, even when busy and serving big groups. Probably some of the best service in Denver. I recently visited during restaurant week and everything was flawless. My favorite things on the menu are the Cesar Salad, Brussels Sprouts, Calamari and Bolognese Pasta. I really don't think you can go wrong here. The pasta is outstanding, the fish and steaks are always cooked right and the vegetables are fresh. read more

Maybe the 4.5 stars set my expectations too high but I wasn't all that impressed. The food was good and the service was good but nothing mind blowing. Enjoyed the salads and apps. Pasta was ok. Our dinner at Panzano's in Denver was awesome! The service was impeccable and the food absolutely delicious! We had the Chef's tasting menu in order to experience many of the dishes. The Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Green Apple was very nice and the Ceasar Salad with grilled Romaine was tasty. My favorite was the Pastiche but everything was very delicious. Chef Elise Wiggins and her staff represent the best in the business, in my opinion! Top shelf! Hotel restaurants always make me uneasy except for Kimpton Hotel facilities. In this case Hotel Monaco. 2nd time and even more impressed with breakfast. Perhaps the best eggs Benny on earth and Gluten Free on top of it all. Turkey sausage should enter a " I dare you meat eaters to tell the difference " contest. Homemade breads are solid ( and made right in front of you) while most of the other ingredients are also made in house. If there is a better banana bread French toast I'd say one is a liar. This was so perfectly balanced! Impressive all around and the spit pig on weekends is a blast to see. Only problem is we won't be around tonight to enjoy that. :-( read more

One of the best happy hours around, especially in downtown! They have a large variety of small plates, varying in price. All the food is of exceptional quality, and they clearly care a lot about flavor and plating. Even during happy hour. We came to Panzano for a bachelorette dinner. The restaurant and wait staff were extremely accommodating with our group of 10. Service was efficient and friendly. I had the Caesar salad, brussels sprouts, and pasta with braised rabbit. Each dish was deep in flavor. The braised rabbit pasta wasn't for me, I decided, but it was still a high quality dish. Big portions, too! At the end of our meal, the waiter brought out complimentary tiramisu for the bride to share with the table. It was such a nice touch! read more

Awesome awesome all around. Atmosphere was very relaxing with a live violinist in the corner. Food was absolutely amazing. We came right in time for Restaurant Week so we got to try the calamari, Polpette di Maiale (meatballs with polenta), and the tiramisu. My husband got the Taglio Di Carne which was the rib eye. Each thing was better than the other. The tiramisu was the best we've ever had. Our server Kristine was the icing on the cake! Update: After this review we were invited back to try Panzano again. The service was much better and, even though the pasta dish was dry, the food overall was much better. We left satisfied and would come back. We used to love this place. Apparently they have a new chef and thought the quality of preparation and flavors has down. I ended up at this restaurant purely by happenstance. I was flying solo and in desire of a good dinner close to my hotel. I sat at the bar for my dinner, and the bartender who waited on me was fabulous. When my food took a little longer than he anticipated he gave me a little addition to my "glass" of wine. Though i was in no hurry, so it didn't bother me. He checked in often, but not too often. And then when i ordered dessert and asked for his opinion on a dessert wine, he poured me a taste of two to help me make my decision. Aside from the fabulous service, the food was great! I had the gnocchi, which was perfect. Often gnocchi is served with a heavy sauce that ends up weighing me down. Instead the ragu that was served with it, along with the tomatoes was the perfect balance of flavors. I had the chocolate almond cake which was amazing, paired with a nice amaro. I'm not from Denver, but if i lived here, with the great combination of service, atmosphere and food, I'd definitely come back! read more

While in Denver we stayed right across the street from Panzano and made reservations for New Year's Eve in advance with no issue. To start, I had the daily soup which was made of fennel and leeks and my SO had their half Caesar salad. The soup had the most incredible texture (especially considering how cold it was outside!) and my SO mentioned his salad was a little over-dressed but otherwise delicious. For our entrees I ordered the Doppio Ravioli di Vetri and my SO ordered the Bolognese di Manzo. My SO's dish was absolutely incredible from the filling of the pasta to the sauce itself. We were both blown away. Unfortunately we didn't care for my dish and felt as though the pasta was very tough. This could just be a personal preference and if we lived in Denver, we would definitely go back and try the other pastas Panzano has to offer. We ordered Tiramisu for dessert and it may have been the best I've ever had. We weren't even that hungry as we were both fighting colds, but we fought over the last bite! I know it's a simple choice, but I would order this over and over again. Service was great. Jose was very knowledgeable, friendly and handled this loud, drunk patron to the right of us like a true gentleman. read more

BEST HAPPY HOUR EVER! I've been to a couple of client lunches and enjoyed them, but the real treat is Happy Hour, which is 7-days-a-week. If someone suggests weekend brunch, I suggest Saturday or Sunday happy hour, because they serve small plates of sumptuous food. GLUTEN INTOLERANT? There is an extensive menu available. I introduced a friend to their gluten-free menu over a decade ago. We hadn't seen each other in years and I ran into her and her now-teenage kids -- also gluten intolerant. We had a team dinner here and the service was great. They greet you and seat you right away. Food was tasty, but agree with a lot of the comments, nothing out of the norm. Fresh pasta dishes however, you are looking at $26 and up for the pasta dishes. Meat dishes range from $30 and up. You do not get any appetizers, bread, or salad with the meals which would be nice if it was included. Of you order the meatball appetizers, they will say that it comes with 3 huge meatballs. Not really... it's about a regular size and is paired with a few slices of bread. The best thing is the brussel sprouts salad. It was tasty and delicious. Overall, 3 stars for me because... although the food wasn't bad, the prices were outrageous for the portion sizes. read more

Good food, OK service, small portions, overpriced. I've been before in 2018 and everything was 5 stars. This time I went with my wife for a date night and we were not impressed. The hostesses forgot to call us when our table was ready or get us at the bar, fried calamari was mostly good with a few questionable bites, drinks and bartenders were great, servers were good, ambiance nice, entree house pastas just so-so, price pretty steep. Been a while since I've written a review, though, given our experience on Christmas Eve I simply can't let it go. Pretty simple really, a special engagement (beyond the holiday), for our family, we booked 945am breakfast reservations two weeks in advance, were seated at the table we hoped for (a mostly empty restaurant made this possible), received menus, ordered drinks, and that's about where the good part ends. Chatting, we are interrupted by our server asking if we're ready to order. With blank faces we are informed that it is 956a and the kitchen will be closing at 10am so we can order now or wait until the kitchen reopens at 11am. She then looks at me and says they are out of beet juice and I cannot have the juicer from the menu I ordered. I asked for other options and am told they are out of ALL the other juices. ??? Hmm. Okay. Quickly we peruse the menu and make a decision. Once received, the focaccia and the preserves shined, though everything else seemed to be an afterthought, lacking the usual attention to service, flavors, plating, presentation. Trying not to feel rushed, we chat and watch as the smell of burning and smoke wafts our way. I kid you not. Unbelievably, looks like the pastry/bread station had a hiccup and to rectify the manager is casually spinning the front door in an effort to fan the air. Panzano, what's going on? Aside from the smoke (I've worked the service industry, I understand things happen), the overall experience left a mark, of disengaged, unpolished delivery. Would've been so easy to contact us, "Hello, I see you made a 945a reservation, our kitchen closes at 10a, would you like to change your reservation to an earlier or later time?" Or, geesh, not offer a 945am reservation to begin with. Too, maybe not pass out a menu with juicers listed that are ALL currently unavailable. You know, just care. Or, at least pretend that you do. read more

My wife and I walk by this restaurant everyday as we are staying at the Residence Inn next door. We have read a lot of great reviews for the food so when there was a blizzard hitting Denver this week we decided to give this place a try. The service was good and the food was good but not great. I got the BOLOGNESE DI MANZO and POLPETTE AL FORNO my wife got the TORTELLI DI RICOTTA. The Bolognese was ok but it was the size of an appetizer. I expected more for $29. The polpette are beef, wild boar and pork belly meatballs and they tasted no different than regular meatballs. This is a place we will not be going back to since the food did not compare to the price you paid for the food read more

They definitely deserve their reputation for an excellent happy hour. They have a great gluten free selection on their happy hour menu. The service has been great for numerous happy hour visits, and I love the the atmosphere. However, I am updating my review for dinner. Panzano is my favorite spot for appetizers and dessert or happy hour, but I ate there for dinner for the first time and was underwhelmed. Oddly enough, their bar menu seems to be better for food allergies than their regular menu. The service was very bad. The waitress asked about dietary restrictions, which my husband has and appreciated, but they were not accommodating to him and messed up his order. It would be nice if he could just order a la carte meat and veggies, but apparently they don't do that. So instead he had to order something from the menu and hold the items he couldn't eat, which never works because they're used to making the same dish over and over. Of course they brought his food out incorrectly, and when the waitress walked by later, she pointed out that it was wrong and blamed the kitchen. He had already picked out the items he couldn't eat, but instead of even offering to fix it, she just told us how she ordered it correctly and it was the kitchen's fault. What was the point of that interaction? Then when we had after dinner drinks, he ordered ginger tea. It was definitely not ginger that he got, but chamomile. Being a former waiter himself, he doesn't generally complain about mistakes, but it's easy enough to switch out a pot of tea. When he told her of the mistake, she argued and said it's definitely a ginger blend. I told her it wasn't, and it was more of a chamomile mint with no a hint of ginger. Then she left (I thought to get him a new pot of ginger tea), but she just brought the canister of ginger for him to smell, insisting that it is ginger/ chamomile/ mint. It was so weird. It was definitely the wrong tea and it would have been easier to replace it instead of having a whole conversation about it, but again we just let it go and he drank his chamomile tea. Plus it's pretty gross that she would have a customer stick his face in a huge canister of looseleaf tea that other people will be drinking from. Maybe it was because we were polite about the issues, she didn't feel the need to fix them? When a restaurant makes no attempt to rectify their mistakes, it just makes me think they make a lot of them. We never even saw a manager. I would think they would at least stop by to apologize for the kitchen messing up the dietary restrictions. read more
