The best! Food was great, but what really made the evening was the service and the whole gracious atmosphere. We were especially interested in a quiet table due to hearing loss issues, and the staff was so cooperative! The booth we ended up with was perfect. Wait staff was not pretentious and stiff the way so many upscale places are. The wine list is amazing, and not out of sight expensive. Food was carefully prepared. Great evening. read more

What can I say? This is one of the top 5 restaurants I have been to. Every single thing I ate was delicious. Bacon cheese and bean soup was off the charts! All the little details are great---brussels sprout appetizer is great, breads are all delicious. read more

We have just been to this restaurant twice. Both for my boyfriend's college graduation celebrations and both times we were all extremely pleased with the service and the food. Everything was very good. The graduate predictably ordered the duck. I think duck is usually too gamey, but this was delicious. As were the fried brussel sprouts, served with julienned apple slices and pistachios. There was also a really good creamy squash soup. I ordered the eggplant. It was really nice and not too heavy. Several of us can't eat gluten. They had a nice gluten free menu and even more thrilling; they brought out their own in house made gluten free bread for the table! It has been years since we were able to enjoy a bread basket. And this is always a sad sacrifice at an Italian restaurant as we cannot find good reason to use the lovely dipping oil. The service here is awesome, the food is very good, and the atmosphere is relaxing and visually appealing. It's pricey, but that's to be expected for a nice dining experience. read more

The main reason that I gave this a one star was because the hostess was very unpleasant and rude. We had reservations at 7:30 and we were not seated until 8:00. I expect better service from a highly rated restaurant such as this, especially when you have a reservation! There was another couple that came in after us that also had reservations and they were seated before us. When I asked the hostess about this, she said they had requested a window seat when making the reservation. Since a table with a window view opened up first, they got it. I couldn't believe that. The hostess can make or break your first impression of a restaurant, and she definitely spoiled the experience for me. read more

We had dinner here and it was excellent. Ron Vischer was our waiter and he was outstanding. He helped with suggestions on the food and was very knowledgeable about the wine. Fantastic food, impeccable service. We were in town for the night and happened upon this gem since it was walking distance from our hotel. So glad we did. Had an early supper after our obligatory annual pilgrimage to the Home and Garden Show. My first time at Panzano and and it was memorable. Both my wife and I ordered the Carbonerra with pancetta. It was delicious. But I'm getting ahead of myself. For a starter we selected the Mushroom Filled Crepes (2). Like nothing I had ever tasted. It was wonderful. We followed with a grilled Hearts of Romaine salad with a Caesar preparation. Yummy! Of course we were offered desert but with no room left we had to decline. Our server, Lori, then presented us wth coupon for a free desert on our next visit. Can't wait to return. read more

Did anyone else get food poisoning from the shrimp cocktail on Wednesday Feb 22? I did and it was awful. I know that is what it was because after 36 hours of hell in a hotel room I'm am now fine. The only other food I had all day was the fungi pizza so maybe it was that but unlikely because it hit me like a ton of bricks after eating the shrimp. When I discussed with the manager his response was "the chef said the shrimp was fine" Really? Did he eat it? I did and was sicker than I ever have been. They comped my food bill which was nice for my client who was paying the bill...but how do I get comped for the full day of my life I lost on Thursday??! Bottom line I'm putting it out there in case someone else needs to know they aren't alone ... read more

I went to 4 different restaurants for restaurant week and this was the best! For one, we got 4 courses which is a ton of Food. My favorites were the grilled Caesar salad with anchovies, the osso bucco, and the chocolate torte. Overall, I was very impressed with it all. I will definitely return and tell everyone I know about the place and experience. read more

We were in Denver on a vacation and decided to eat at a nice restaurant on a lark. Various reviews pointed out that Panzano has a casual dress code which was a big plus, so I tried to put in an online reservation. I screwed it up, but when we showed up on a Saturday night they were able to seat us right away, despite being pretty crowded. My wife ordered the Chef's Tasting Menu, which came with an appetizer, beet salad, seafood pasta, veal cut, and dessert. She loved it - even the beet salad which surprised her. I had the mushroom crepes and steak dish with fried gnocchi. My meal was excellent as well. Demitri was an outstanding waiter. He made outstanding recommendations on both food and drink. All in all we had a great time at a great place. read more

Absolutely the BEST grilled Caesar salad I have had in my life! Nice smoky flavor and the dressing was delicious. I am going to try to make this at home. The lamb Ragu was very tender. Wine, bread and whatever that spread is were amazing. Wait staff was extremely attentive and helpful with menu selections. Well worth the price and I'll go back the next time I'm in town. read more

Great place to go in Denver. My wife and I travel frequently and this might be the best restaurant we have been to. We had reservations and were seated promptly upon arrival. The service was fantastic, we never had to flag down our waiter yet he never hovered over us and very friendly at the same time. We have eaten at what is suppose to be the finest Steakhouses in the country but the steak we had there was hands down the best. If you are in downtown Denver, treat yourself and go. read more

Used to be much better. But the last time I visited will be my last. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and were still seated behind customers that arrived after us. By the time they sat us, all that was left was a table in the makeshift dining room next to the side windows. There was a very cold breeze circulating through our table and my 90 year old grandmother was quite cold. The server refused to seat us in the main dining room. I chose the chef seating which means you can watch them cook. Very fun! All of the staff were so courteous, striking that perfect balance between attentive, intuitive and unobtrusive. Pricy at $25-40 per plate, but unbelievably delicious. I go so far as to say, best dinner I've ever had. Every bite had a little different mix of light and rich, citrus and creamy, nutty and tangy. My husband and I went here last year for my 30th birthday. It was an awful experience. I got one of the pasta dishes. It started out great and then I took a bite to find a piece of metal wire in the sauce. When I told the waiter, he said it must have been part of the fryer basket. I pointed out that nothing on my dish was fried so that seemed unlikely. He agreed, apologized, took the dish and said he would have the chefs fire a new one right away. I told him no thank you as I didn't have much appetite after that, but he didn't listen. He brought it out after a few minutes, we ordered drinks, and he never came back. That was literally the last time we saw him, but he was waiting on other tables right around us, just completely avoiding us. I asked another waiter for a manager who never came and then finally gave up and asked for the check. Nothing was taken off of the bill and in fact, the drinks we never received were on there. We asked for a new check with that removed and asked for a comp on just my pasta dish that had metal in it. Well that didn't happen, they never came back with a new check, not even one with just the drinks that were never received removed. We paid in cash and just short paid it. I was so excited to try this restaurant and I am so disappointed. Great staff and service but the food was not so great, especially for the price. It was VERY noisy so I would say stay away from the restaurant during rush hours. read more

We had the best dining experience we have ever had! We normally eat in the dining room but we did not have a reservation. Will was our server and immediately found us a nice booth in the lounge. He went over the menu and you could tell he geniunely respected the chef and her cuisine. Later he even told us about her cooking classes and the chefs counter where you could interact with the chefs directly. We were indecisive and Will asked a few questions and then asked if he could order for us. We laughed and asked him what he was going to order. He replied with a smile and said isnt a surprise better. The surprise was better and we had the most incredible meal!!!! The veal and the scallops were perfection. We are regulars for life but if you go to Panzano skip the dining room and eat in the bar. You will not regret it.. read more

This is one of downtown Denver's best places to do happy hour. The food is excellent and the prices were reasonable,and so was the service. We had some really neat dishes, deep fried brussel sprouts with pistachios, honey and julianne green apples. Wonderful, also the fried egg plant with marinara sauce was super good too. This is the place to have a dining experience. Dimetri was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable and friendly without being intrusive. We had the the chef's sampler to experience the choices. The food is exceptional and the wine list is extensive. Definitely going back. The menu changes every three months or so and the sampler changes daily. Kudos to Dimetri and the team. We celebrated a birthday at the restaurant last night spending over $867 as a group. The waiter was slow and seemed to be put out when we asked for anything. My husband ordered their special, a medium steak at $MP, and it came to the table rare. It took at least 15 minutes for the waiter to even take our initial drink orders and he was no where to be found when we wanted to order anything. We asked for dessert menus at the end of the meal and it took 20 minutes to get them to us. I was extremely disappointed in the service. After spending $200 on the meal, I felt robbed. Our reservations were at 6:15pm and we barely made it to the comedy works for the 9:45 show. Step it up Panzanos. You should be better than that. read more

This restaurant was a complete disappointment. I went with my 15 year old daughter and service dog to the restaurant. We were told there were no seats available until late that night other than in the bar, which with a fifteen year old and dog would not be possible. Since that would not be possible, we walked back to the hotel we were staying at to come up with a "plan b." We decided to call and check if takeout was possible. After discovering it was, we promptly looked at the menu and decided just an easy spaghetti would be best. We called to ask if this dish would be at all possible to make. A very rude woman answered the phone and said "if we really wanted to be that basic we should go somewhere else." After asking if there was anything similar she recommended another dish. This dish had meat in I asked if the meat could be removed. I was told "the sauce is pre-made so they aren't going to change it just for me." At this point I was extremely frustrated and decided to just give up. I was incredibly disappointed with the service and am very grateful that we found Maggiano's Little Italy. read more

I've been here twice before (years ago) and tonight was my third time for dinner. I would have rated my first two visits 4-5 stars so that's why, when I had a chance to set a reservation at any Denver restaurant, I chose Panzano. I can't say I was impressed--we ordered the brussel sprout appetizer. It was good, a little greasy, but nothing that I haven't had at other restaurants. We also ordered the scallops with risotto--I think the price was $35 and there were three scallops and two scoops of risotto with a green sauce. It was pretty tasteless and ordinary, required salt and pepper to eat. It totally wasn't worth it. Our wines were okay, not the best (we had both red and white). I had the cannoli which I found too tart with the sauce and my friend had the butterscotch pudding, which was the winner for the night. Based on tonight's experience only, I wouldn't return, but I will still give them another try. Service was great, friendly and attentive, but it was way too expensive for what we got. read more

Went here on the recommendation of a friend and I'll need to set him straight later. I had read several reviews on the how great the happy hour is and maybe that should be their claim to fame. I took my family here and found the menu selections quite limited for a true N Italian restaurant. We had the mushroom crepe app and it was quite good. My son had the fish special which was a combination of salmon and snapper and he thought it too was good. From there things were very average, especially for the price. The autumn ravioli was good but not equal to the price. The veal was tough and two of the three cuts were not fresh-had a cowing taste probably due to not being freshly butchered. My daughter likes very simple sauces and they offered a basic marinara but served fresh tagliatelle with pizza sauce! On the positive side, the server was pleasant and knew his business. Someone likened the selections equal to Olive Garden and I agree so with lots of good restaurants in Denver, I won't be back here anytime soon. read more

My girlfriend and I had been told Panzano was a great happy hour spot in Denver. We were in the area so we decided to check it out for the first time around 3pm. I worked in the industry for many years and usually choose the bar for seating. We wanted to take our time ordering since it was our first time; there were 2 other people at the bar. We put in an order for the mushroom crepe and the bartender said "anything else?" , we weren't sure yet but he was very pushy and said "i don't want to make 10,000 trips because we don't have a food runner till 4:30pm". Off putting to say the very least. The mushroom crepe, pizza and lamb ragu were top notch, the meatballs in the pastiche were a little tough, but the flavors were great. I know this was a little long winded, but we did not appreciate how we were handled at the bar. The server that was present was very nice and helpful even though she had quite a few tables. read more

We were wandering around downtown Denver exploring different places to try. My husband read a review that this restaurant was excellent, so we decided to give it a try. Since we were walking, we were both dressed very casually. I believe the waiter made an assumption about us as soon as he saw us. My husband ordered an $8 glass of wine that was sub-par to start. The waiter seemed irritated that we took time to look over the iPad wine list. Since we were getting reimbursed for our meals, we needed to keep the alcohol separate from the food on the check. My husband waved down the server to ask him to do this, and the waiter made a mocking motion in the air with his hand, imitating my husband. After asking the waiter to split the check, he proceeded to walk away to his computer. I was facing him and my husband's back was too him. The waiter seemed upset that we asked him to split the check and I saw him say "weirdo" as he angrily typed on his computer. After that, I said forget this place!! I don't want to spend another dollar here!! We told the waiter we were leaving and left him the money for the wine. He was kissing up to us only after he made us so upset by acting like a pretentious snob. 0 stars from me if I could post 0 stars!!! read more
