First of all, I would like to say that I hope this location and/or Panera actually reads these reviews so things can get better and easier for customer pickup. I ordered breakfast to be picked up on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. First of all, I don't know how they can be out of all of their easy-over egg sandwiches but anyways...I ordered a coffee drink and breakfast sandwich and picked instore pickup. I arrived at 7:30 am, went straight to the pick up area and nothing was there. I checked the digital sign that says if they are preparing an order and nothing was there. I sat on the bench for a couple minutes and saw a couple bags sitting on the kitchen counter. I saw an employee walk over there pick one up and walk off with it. She also walked by me and didnt ask if she could help me with anything...it was obvious I was waiting for something...I guess it was too early in the morning?! I saw that another bag and drink were up there, so I went over to the kitchen counter and low and behold...it was mine! During COVID, etc...it would be nice and easy for your customers to locate their food and drink items if you put them where they are supposed to be. And when I left the employees were all chatting away at the bakery registry and no one said anything to me. I like Panera but it will be a while before I visit this location again... read more

This isn't a location-specific review. I understand that Panera's core demographic is women with children. I am a woman with a child, and we do not enjoy the music, not sure what mom really sits down and listens to elevator music by choice. The music sucks. I always bring headphones if i come to use the wifi. (I work from my home office but sometimes need an escape). If I'm not planning on working, i will get my food to go so I don't have to listen to the horrendous music. Maybe they have a random company stream the music for them, but I would love to see them follow our suit at Rubio's and have one person as the designated playlist creator. We work with a company and then our employee narrows it down and we get so many compliments. Food related, can't beat the french onion soup, it's what draws me in! Be aware of the 30 minute wifi limit between 12-2. read more

After going here multiple times before. I am disappointed in the food quality of today's meal. Both me and my girlfriend got Mac n cheese. The cheese sauce which is normally creamy was very gritty. We could tell it was microwaved because it was steaming hot for 15 min before we could eat it. read more

First time ordering using their app. Was a little bummed that we were outside of the delivery area, but I decided to try their "rapid pick up" option. Of course after I got the order together and went to submit I was told that the next pick up time was not available and I had to wait 20 minutes for the order to even be started (which negated the rapid part of this option). So we waited and once we got the food, we headed home and frankly, we had mixed results. Most of the food was for my mom and she said it all tasted good but there were various issues. The pick two combo was way overpriced since they gave a very small cup of standard tasting macaroni and cheese and a small serving of soup. She loved the flavor of the soup but said she would not order the mac and cheese again cuz it wasn't worth the money. Best part for her was the hunk of French bread served with it. She also ordered a kid's grilled cheese (because the app told us they were out of the ingredients for regular grilled cheese somehow) and it was what you would expect a kids grilled to be. She would not order it again. Lastly we got a half dozen of bagels and they were amazing as always. They put the everything bagel in a speedster bag as usual and they rest together and they were big and yummy and worth every penny. We would get a full dozen next time and skip the rest. Get the bagels from here, they are amazing! But skip the rest because it's overpriced and really nothing special. read more

This location sucked. Not because it was super packed with about 20 high school-ers all gathering up change to buy $2 pastries but because the service/presentation was sloppy. I paid over $13 for half of a turkey/kale sandwhich that was missing pieces of bread on one side and was sloppily thrown together. My second choice of the "pick 2" was the French onion soup which looked absolutely NOTHING like the picture and was definitely lacking. Back in the day, Panera's food used to be delicious and was my college networks' ultimate study spot. But every time I go now, everything is overpriced and bland. Great location and speedy service. I've been coming to this location for years. Whether early in the morning, afternoon for lunch or later in the evening, I can expect the same result every time I am in here; clean areas, friendly and quick service and good food. I am always impressed by this because of the fact that this location is typically busy and it never seems to phase them. not once have I been here and thought "man they're taking a long time" or "my food wasn't fresh." they operate like a machine! You can have a quick business or social meeting with one other person or serval and have seating inside or outside. In a suit or shorts and tshirt you will comfortable and not out of place, they have a very relaxed atmosphere for everyone. If you are in the area check them out, you will not be disappointed, but your pockets will be a little on the light side after your visit though. read more

I gave the Hilltop Panera three stars. I give this one four because it's the latest and greatest. It just opened last year and it's fancy-schmancy. It has a nifty outdoor seating area with mod looking sound barriers (to help with VB Blvd noise..they do an OK job). I guess because it's near Town Center, it's seem to serve as a mobile office for a lot of people during the day, which is cool. They have free wi-fi of course, so it's a great place to do a work meeting or check emails while you eat (because apparently we all to need to multitask like that now). I like to order lunch and then get one of my favorites--a loaf of their house-made Cinnamon raisin bread and cream cheese to go. Horrible service! First off the girl with the short hair who was the cashier at the time of service is clueless. She's not familia with menu nor prices. If you're new cool then let me know but you don't have a tag or anything saying your in training, if so I'd be more understanding but no So ordering was already a struggle. Second I ordered a Madagascar Vanilla almond. Well the manger (white older man, with beard) was the one who made cause I saw him making it. Well upon trying it tasted like mocha nothing like vanilla. So I approached him and said sorry is there anyway you can exchange this or make a new one cause the flavor is off. He said "all I can do for you is add sugar." EXCUSE ME. What kind of customer service is that? A great manager would say sure would you like me to exchange it for something else or would you like a refund, nope that was all he suggested. So I took it upon myself to go to the cashier and ask for my money back. The girl said I can't do it, I will get the manager. So here he comes and was like "what do you want" and he figured it out. I had left the drink on the counter, and he swiped it up so fast and chunked it in the trash with anger. And my husband was walking over at the time and when he saw him walking over, he changed his attitude. And walked away. We went over to wait for our food and the manager turns around and was like "want a cup?" The heck is a cup gonna do, I wanted my coffee made better, and treated with better respect. Been here a good 20 times over the past few years. They are always polite and the service is always great. The food always has the same flavor so that's nice. Only thing I've encountered that I don't care for is. One day your chicken soup will be just that. And on other days they just give you broth with the tinyest amount of chicken/noodles. I live so close to this Panera and go here often. It's always busy there because it's in a busy shopping center, but I never have a bad experience, service is pretty quick. They have great food but a bit pricey. I usually get the half salad and sandwich combo of tuna sanwich and fiji apple salad. I love their iced green tea and mac and cheese too! They have a rewards program and you usually will get a pastry for $1, dangerous but so many to chose from and they are all delicious. It's clean and they offer great customer service. read more

I've never tried it before since it looked too fancy and expensive for me. I had he strawberry salad, which was gross with the dressing it came with. The pineapples took away from the salad feel. It was way too many fruits in it. My bbq chicken flat bread was the bomb. It was so good. I should have picked those two instead of the salad. The extra bread roll was a bit too much bread. This Panera Bread gets three stars based on it's location. Although it's right by Virginia Beach's Town Center, it is also located walking distance to a high school. Therefore, I don't recommend coming around after-school hours. After two o'clock, the place is packed with high school-aged students, and it does get a bit noisy. read more

I really like Panera Bread... their food is awesome, the menu is great, their desserts tell you how many calories you're going to consume and therefore make you less likely to eat it, and the "you pick two" option is a score. The location here is great because you can always find parking (coming from Boston, believe me when I say, "this is a real bonus," lol), the clientele is respectful, and the establishment is neat and clean. The only downside to this Panera is how insanely packed they get on Sundays! I came to this particular location to have a quick lunch with my boyfriend while he was on his lunch break. Of course, this place was packed since it was the prime time for lunch hour. It did not take long for us to get through the line, but a longer line formed right behind us. Although there are plenty of places to sit, every booth and table seemed to be taken. We got a seat right by the window at the front of the store. Our food took only a few minutes and was very delicious. I always get the choose two with Asian sesame chicken salad and the tomato and mozzarella panini. Always very delicious! Thee bakery items are also very tasty. I never have a problem when I go to Panera Bread. The service is always quick regardless if they are busy or not. read more

This is hands down, one of my favorite restaurants. A while back I was at the panera on lynnhaven and I was running late for a meeting. I accidentally forgot to grab my drink and chips because I was rushing. I stopped in to this panera to explain what happened because I didn't have time to drive back to the other location. They replaced my drink and chips with no questions asked. Panera really has some of the best customer service around, and I've never had a bad experience here. First off, I think this place is a little expensive. That being said, I still go because I enjoy the food. The sandwiches are very tasty and pair well with the soup. If I stop in for lunch that is normally what I will grab. The turkey is really good and I normally don't eat turkey sandwiches. I also recommend the baked goods. The cinnamon roll was really good! The one thing I don't really care for is the coffee. I love coffee but the few times I tried the coffee here it just fell short. Also, my wife thought the hot cocoa tasted burnt. I tried it and it just tasted more like dark chocolate so I loved it. She does not like dark chocolate. One of these days maybe I will get to try breakfast here. read more

I think Panera Bread is one best places to have a business lunch. It's quick, easy, reasonable price and good food, yet you don't have be interrupted every 5 seconds by a waiter/waitress. They also have free wi-fi which is a big plus. The fast lane kiosk is awesome and allows you to customize your order. I love the food here and so does my 9 year old son , this place only gets 1 star because I went in to purchase a gift card and a pecan twist and the cashier swiped my card and it said approved and she swiped it again and again which causes my card to be charged twice , I checked my bank account and noticed I was charged twice and called management and they really didn't seem to apologetic at all and only informed me to come back Monday ( this happened Thursday ) I didn't make them wait to pay for my items so why do I have to wait for my money back when it was a mistake on their end . But I want to say that this Panera's location (& most I've visited) have such a great atmosphere for conducting informal business meetings with one to a few people. No one bothers you, the food is quite good and reasonable, and the hours are suitable to early morning or late evening meetings. Definitely more room (and less guilt) than hanging out at a Starbucks for a few hours! And lots of tables and places to use your computer. Have ordered take-out delivery here 10+ times and it has been correct one time. Items are missing almost every time and substitutions not indicated in the order occur frequently (incorrect bread used, ingredients used, or sides wrong). 1 instance management corrected when I called as half my order was missing. I wait a few weeks or months between orders and give them another chance. I will drive to Durham next time if I want Panera. read more
