It was a busy Saturday in the Virginia Beach Town Center area, and we needed a fast lunch option. We were happy to remember Jason's Deli offers so much variety and the ample parking was a bonus. IYKYK, just how limited Town Center parking can be on a Saturday. The restaurant was clean and it offers plenty of seating options, which makes it a quaint lunch spot. We found that the Mix & Match Manager's Special option was perfect. Two of us enjoyed the half Caprese Panini sandwich with chips and fresh fruit. The fruit comes with a dipping sauce, but it didn't need it since the fruit was very sweet. My daughter enjoyed her Mix & Match with the half Chicken Caprese Panini sandwich with chips and a cup of chicken noodle soup. We're definitely keeping Jason's Deli on our list of great places to eat! read more

I think Jason's Deli is a sold choice for soups and sandwiches. We ordered our meals to go. The sandwiches come with a small bag of potato chips, which is a nice touch, and they are definitely generous with the meat. Stopped in for lunch to grab the salad bar. There used to be menus at the front before the register. Now those are gone. The other person with me was unsure what she wanted so when we got to the register, she had to look. The cashier was rude and dismissive. The salad bar was good as always but someone filling the items seems irritated that I was where she wanted to be. Good perk now that I was unaware of--DOGS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE. I am not talking service dogs but actual pet dogs. There was one walking around the restaurant and had a pillow on the seat. I will be bringing my four greyhounds on my next visit. Jason's Deli is the place to go if you want all you can eat salad bar. I ordered soup and salad. The girl at the register was new so she was having an issue ringing up the order. But the manager assisted her. They lacked in service, no one greeted me, no one apologized for the 4-5 minutes i waited for them to help the cashier. I didn't say anything or complain but a little customer service skills would make the visit so much better. The salad bar is about $11 for all you can eat. If you get takeout you better load that box up. Lol. I got all my salad favorites. They have seed crackers, garlic bread croutons, and pumpkin bread bites... Lord have mercy those pumpkin bites are delicious with the salad. The first time i saw them i only got 2 because they didn't look appealing at all. But, but, but i was wrong. They're so good. The jalapeño and ranch dressing is very tasty. I definitely recommend trying it. If you get salad bar as a pickup order and they prepare it, your wasting your money. They barely fill the box and skimp on toppings. So go in its way more bang for your buck!! I got Irish potato soup which is my favorite. You go up to the counter and order, they give you a number and you sit and they bring the food to you. You grab y our own drink. It was still busy when I got there but much slower when I left. I did get the salad bar. At 1st I thought I was going to be disappointed because it looked smaller then I remember but it did not disappoint. Everything is so fresh. I love that they have spring mix and spinach but no iceburg. All the toppings including hard boiled eggs, hummus, nuts and seeds, cottage cheese, artichokes, pasta salad, olives, etc....Tables were not dirty for long. Solid 3.5 I like this place. I genuinely do. I feel like they offer great valued, healthy options that fits a very nice part of the market. This is the first time I've been to this particular store and I'm a bit conflicted on a few things. First the signage on ordering etc, is not 'super' intuitive. In the age of all these made to order restaurants, someone could be confused of if we order and make as we go down the line. When we arrived there was no line and none of the staff even remotely tried to help. They just kind of stared at us. Awkward to say the least. After figuring out the process (someone eventually came behind us - I let them go ahead), we ordered and there really was just no care to the customer experience. If anything, it was diminishing overall. After the order they handed us a number with no mention on what to do. Some places they call out a number and you go pick it up. Others, they give you a stand with the number on it so they can bring it to you. This place gave you the number with no stand so I was a bit conflicted. Do I pick it up? Does someone come to me? With no instructions I'm left guessing. Of course as I saw them preparing our food and putting to the side, I assumed I was supposed to pick it up. Wrong... Some of this stuff is quite basic but seriously a little bit of signage would go a long way. Lastly, the floors were slippery... everywhere. While groups of 8+ don't have endless dining options during Covid, I was less enthused to eat here after our 3.5 star Sunday lunch visit. Limited menu, no salad bar, and, brace yourselves...no free muffins or trail mixes..."Not the snacky snacks Lord?!" Thankfully, the ice cream machine was still operating (to avoid a HD revolt) but you must request cone/dish from counter. Employees were friendly but a tad off their game. After bringing out our food, half of our items were forgotten, even after inquiring (chips, salsa, yogurt, soups). It was so clunky, I felt bad (re)asking for items I paid for. Nutty Mixed Up salad is consistently good; wraps and sandwiches aren't anything to write home or Yelp about. Beefeater was surprisingly dry. "Aujus kidding me?" (Sorry). Doing freshman orientation for my son and needed a place nearby to grab a quick lunch. Jason's Deli was pretty much a no-brainer. Yes they're a chain but as with everything some are better than others. This JD has both a drive thru and plenty of indoor seating. There was no wait to order, my standard California club was excellent - although I was surprised the avocado was mashed and not sliced. Turned out to be a good thing since it meant no slippery avocado sliding out the sides. The family also had a quarter muffuletta, a beef eater, and a pastrami sandwich. Everything made fresh, good sized portions and tasty as always. The server offered us soft serve, complimentary as always, you just can't serve yourself right now. I don't see that as a problem personally. Also the salad bar is open again although you can only make one trip so the price is reduced. I went here for lunch with my co workers today. Ive always passed but I never went in. Its a pretty popping place during lunch hours so make sure you got time. And yes, there was a line. They dont only serve deli sandwiches, which would be the obvious, but they other entrees you can order off their menu. As soon as I got my order in, I waited for them to bring it to my table and it wasnt a long wait at all. I had the Chicken Alfredo and it was really creamy just the way I like it and it came with a good amount of chicken. My coworkers had the Pollo Mexicano Potato. My only regret is, I only got a quarter size, and should have gotten more. The bread was nice and soft, and definitely had a french quarter quality to it. I thought the meat was spot on. The olive spread was the only thing that was a little different. And when I say different, I still liked it, it was just a different flavor. Best way I could describe the spread is that it had a mild taste to it, that I appreciated. It wasn't overpowering. Maybe subtle is a better word. Customer service today was horrible I went through the drive thru ask what the size difference was in the salad lighter portion the woman responded it's a lighter portion. DUH !!! I ordered pickup today and was so disappointed with my soup when I opened my bag, ugh. So I ordered the Main lobster chowder and California club. As soon as I opened the soup I could see I had way more liquid than anything else and after sifting through the bowl I located one peice of lobster. I almost wish I just ordered something else. The service was good. The sandwich was okay, the sauce was a bland gravy but I like it with the bread. I tried their hibiscus tea, it had no flavor. Sweet tea was a better choice.
