Loved it in here! What a great find/ pop in, we just happened to stumble in here today while walking around. Immediately I knew i would like it, part wine shop, part specialty grocery, part restaurant. We got a few things, and enjoyed them all! Weird but they were brewing fresh tea when we walked in and out smelled so good, had to get some, delicious apricot tea! Now to the food loved the crab corn chowder so warm and hearty! Just delicious, I got it with biscuits the sweet potato, ham and jam one... it was good but maybe a tad too sweet for me. They also had a more savory one i would try next time. There are seats indoors and on patio.There are plenty of unique merchandise perfect for gift baskets: wine, savory or sweet nut mixes , canned fruits and olives, cookies, etc etc I ended up purchasing a box of chocolate chip bourbon cookies. read more

The sandwiches were pretty good however the attitude of the girl at front was atrocious! I placed an online order and showed up a couple of min before the due time. I was standing at the register and she rudely said do you need something. When I told her I placed an order online and was wondering if it was ready she reprimanded me and told me that the orders are only ready when they're supposed to be ready and I had to wait...although my sandwich at that moment was put out. When she realized that what she said was not true, she continued her attitude by saying in the future don't come before your sandwich is supposed to be ready. Too bad her Customer Service was so terrible because the sandwich was pretty good even though they forgot to put the cheese on the sandwich that called for it on the menu. read more

Taste is my favorite place to grab a freshly made sandwich or salad. It's a great casual lunch/takeout spot if you're looking for something quick, tasty, and easy. You order at the counter and take a number to a table of your choice. They also have numerous pre packaged grab and go items available. Service is quick and friendly. I ordered the Princess Anne sandwich and added turkey. The roasted peppers added a delicious kick and the bread was perfectly soft. The sandwich was loaded with turkey and avocado, and it paired really well with a cup of soup on the side. The Brunswick stew is loaded with chicken and beans making this a cozy and filling meal. The cookies here are DELICIOUS. Overall, I have loved everything that I have ordered here and highly recommend that you try it out! read more

Aesthetically pleasing with a tasty-looking menu, I was excited to have lunch here during my trip to Va Beach. I was not disappointed! I ordered a chicken Caesar salad with the multigrain baguette and apple for the side. First off, the woman who took my order was nothing less than exceptional. She took great care in making sure to get my order correct, even offering to have my Apple sliced. She did a great job of addressing questions and proactively pointed out where everything is located in the restaurant which made for a wonderful and standout experience. Tomatoes were beautiful, bread was delicious and the sandwich was good. We also got a cup of chicken pot pie soup which was good and tasted homemade. We also shared a salad which was fine. Taste is our favor spot in Virginia Beach for food, beers, snacks, AND COOKIES! Whether you need lunch, a gift that will hit or a quick beer, come to Taste. My husband grew up in the area and every time we are home, we always stop by Taste. We also find ourselves ordering from their online store and sending gift throughout the year. They make it so easy to have a "taste" of home. He swears by the Bayside (add bacon) and I generally stick to anything ham or chicken salad. I had the curried chicken salad this time, added prosciutto and provolone, I believe I created The Game Changer, folks. We paired these delicious sandos with their IPA. At this point, we began smelling cookies freshly baking in the oven, and upon correctly identifying we scored 2 insanely delicious cookies. Not only was my oatmeal raisin cookie probably one of the best I have had but after asking my husband for a buzzword for his chocolate chip, he responded "exquisite, delectable, I want more!" I've never been to this beachfront location though I've known about it for years, of course. We stopped in the other night for to-go sandwiches about 30 minutes before closing so we could take them and have a beach picnic. Staff were incredibly nice to us and didn't make us feel rushed or bad at all. The sandwiches were delicious - I always get the Northender and we got some of their delicious fountain soda and chips. My hubs requested the Peter's Pick with sauce on the side but they messed up and put it on his sandwich and didn't have anymore French loaf so asked if that was OK and offered us a free cookie of our choice. They have a great to-go section for snacks/lunch and I've always loved the Taste seasonal and special dinner options. Really impressed with how open, modern and cute this space is inside. Def. a nice lunch spot with a friend. They have a small, attached lot with about 5-6 parking spaces otherwise it's parallel city street parking at the beach. Very clean inside. read more

I went to this taste which is not my usual spot. I always have a great experience and this was not what I am used to. My friend and me ordered our food and I asked for a drink cup and she asked for a water cup. The lady checking us out was very nice and gave us two water cups. My friend and i assumed they were drink cups and took them. I went and filled my cup with cherry soda. I sat down and was bombarded by a worker. She told me in a rude tone that my cup was only supposed to have water. It was an honest mistake and we kindly offered to pay for the drink. She disregarded the offer to pay for it and told me I should be honest next time. It was a genuine mix up and I didn't appreciate the way she talked to me. The food is okay - it's totally overpriced. The service is a bit ridiculous. Whatever you ask to be on your sandwich never happens. It's like trying to gamble on what you will get. Even after explaining to the person in front of you that you have had an error with your last sandwich, they actually do the same thing. Not very out-of-towner welcoming, obviously. I always tell myself I will never get back there, because of this ridiculous service, but it's just practical as my sister-in-law lives a block away from this location. It's the worst TASTE location, because of the service in all of VaBeach. My sister-in-law doesn't go to this location at all, because of the service that always seems cordial but who constantly disappoint with no sauce on sandwiches or missing items in your order when you pick it up. This Taste location is just like the rest of them- delicious! The flavor combinations aren't too out there. It's very farm to table vibes and they make their dressings in house. I love getting their cobb salad as a wrap. They also have seasonal sandwiches and salads too so you can always keep it fresh and interesting! I also highly recommend their iced tea! My family and I come here almost every time we are in town because we love the food and the atmosphere, and our trip this weekend was no different. We came on a Sunday (5/5/24) on our way out of town, around 3:55, as we did not realize that they closed at 4. The girl at the register was very nice and took our order, and then we went and sat down, still not realizing they closed in five minutes. Another worker locked the door at 3:59, locking out incoming customers, which is when realized that they were closed. We were eating out food quickly and finishing up when the same worker that locked the door came over to the ~10 people in the dining room and rudely told us we needed to "get out" so they could clean. I understand that they needed to clean so they could finish closing, but the way the worker spoke to us was incredibly rude and not the way it should have been handled. I work in a restaurant and I totally understand that it's frustrating when people overstay, but there are many other ways to communicate that to the customer. Being nice can go a long way, and if they had communicated they were closing in five minutes we would've taken our food to go. The whole experience really left a bad taste in our mouth, which is disappointing because we usually have a great experience at Taste. Hopefully management can better prepare their workers on how to handle typical situations like the one today so that girl doesn't tell another customer to "get out." read more

I just wrote a review on the largest city, town, or census designated place in MD I hadn't ever written a review on Frederick, MD. I live in the DC area and went to Virginia Beach for the first time 1.5 weeks ago with my parents who came to town to visit me, Richmond, VA Beach, & of course DC. Virginia Beach is the largest city in VA! My mom suggested this sandwich place saying that it had good reviews. We all agreed. My biggest complaint was the parking lot. I scraped the bottom of my car pulling in, and I wasn't going fast, but it was at an angle plus the parking lot was small. But that was my only real negative except for one other thing, which I'll get to (Cold Teas). It was a cute store with various goods like wines, candy, etc. plus the restaurant. It was clean and good open setting with good lighting. The cashier was nice enough and efficient. I got a turkey sandwich and drink. They had a variety of different drinks, Boylan sodas on the machine and various teas. I don't drink soda that often, and I went for the sweet tea. I tried it, and it wasn't sweet, and I didn't like the flavor. I tried the other teas, and I didn't like any of them much. So, I went with the Boylan lemonade, which was good. As for the sandwich, it was delicious. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. The bread was fresh, which is important, and all the parts of the sandwich were great. Also, the restroom was clean and music was great that was being played. No Beatles though; my final two paragraphs has a Fab Four element to it. ------- Interesting Beatles side note: While eating my delicious sandwich, a female friend whose name starts with an M and is a Beatles song and is a bit of a drama queen at times texted me for "Help!" (another Beatles song) on something. My mom thought this girl might be good for me for dating, and I was honest with my mom saying her pros & cons. Ironically for dinner that night, my dad was insistent on going to Abbey Road Restaurant, a Beatles-themed restaurant, (in spite of objections from myself & my mom), but we went. I thought the food was somewhat mediocre, which matched their Yelp reviews, but my dad had a coupon, and he was paying. It was a "Hard Day's Night" (another Beatles song) deliberating on dinner. I'd write a 3-star review on Abbey Road, but it would violate my new 100 reviews or less policy I've recently enacted. read more

This used to be one of my favorite spots. Lately both the food and the service have gone downhill a lot, and today was ridiculous. I ordered 3 cold sandwiches for curbside pickup coming from the beach with no shoes, no mask, and 2 toddlers in the car, with an estimated pickup time of 40 minutes (seems like a very long time but okay). I called when we arrived 40 minutes later and the girl on the phone didn't seem to have any idea what curbside pickup was when I told her what I was there for. Then she took my name and said the order was not ready and hung up. I called back again 20 minutes later and someone inside picked up the phone, didn't say anything, and I could hear only background noise. I called 2 more times with the same result, nobody answered the phone or asked me to hold, just people talking in the background. With 2 screaming kids in the car I dug up an old mask and found some sandals and went inside with the phone call still connected to find someone was just picking up the store phone and setting it face down on the counter without saying anything and walking away, while I could hear myself talking to the person at the counter over my speakerphone. At this point I had been listening to background noise and ignored for about 5 minutes. I showed the employee my phone and told them what happened and I was told "you were put on hold". I then told the employee that I had been waiting over an hour for my order and she eventually walked over and picked it up off a shelf where it had apparently been waiting. Total time for 3 cold sandwiches picked up curb side took about an hour and 15 minutes, 4 phone calls, and going inside to get it myself. read more

Second time here. We loved the first time so we decided to stop on our way back to Delaware in August. They were not accepting online ordering, so that should've been my first hint. we walked in and were told that the wait was 25 minutes for four sandwiches. I started asking for help around the 35 minute mark and had to pester them 3 times in order to get out within an hour. The result: 50-55 minutes and they got 1 on f the sandwiches completely and totally wrong. 1 sandwich didn't have the right items on it but she was OK to eat it. I went back to the manager that I had previously spoken to on two different occasions, and he refunded my money. He barely apologized, and asked if I would like some thing else. But I told him, "this is now the third time I have gotten involved speaking with you, about an order that was supposed to be ready 25 minutes ago. If I would've known that it was going to take almost an hour to order 4 cold sandwiches, we would not have stayed." (I ordered the Inlet, which has fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, balsamic vinaigrette , basil mayo & I opted to add prosciutto... I received the completely wrong sandwich that had chicken, tomatoes, bacon etc.) I was glad that I checked the order before we left the parking lot! I just really did not expect that they would take more than double the time and still get it wrong!! " I said how are you going to make it right? I don't have another hour to sit around and wait for you to make a sandwich. You're not very apologetic and you really don't seem to care." He told me that he put the entire refund back on my card and said, "sorry again." It's really a shame... The previous week we tried to stop to eat but it was too late in the evening and they were already closed. They bungled this visit so badly, without much explanation, apology OR RESPECT, I don't know whether I will ever return. read more

I love taste but have always had a problem with this location. This location always forgets a topping or protein selection but that is only partly why I am writing this review. The servers are always nice and they took my sandwich back when I said the right proteins wasn't on it. Once the sandwich was brought back out there was a bug in it smushed into the protein on the sandwich. I took the sandwich back and was reimbursed. Just upset because I was really looking forward to a taste sandwich! I am not sure why there is always issues at this location from cleanliness to incorrect orders but there is. :( with that being said though the staff have always been nice. read more
