This is the best seasoned chicken sandwich in the 757. But I'll get back to that. Chesapeake's little town center area has really stepped their game up and there are several good options for food and this is one of them. Parking is plentiful as it's in a strip mall, and we were able to self seat a party of 7 with no problem at all on a Saturday evening. The service was doing their best, but they definitely could use one or two more employees because the person making all the desserts (and there was a line JUST for take out dessert orders- because it's that good) was also the same one that needed to take our orders before we could sit down. I felt bad for her because she was working really hard on two very busy stations. The ambience is super casual so no need to dress up. So now lests get to the star of the show. This is the best chicken sandwich out and I'll put it up against anyone I've had anywhere. Well seasoned, tender, perfectly fried. The buns were potato bread so super soft, the sauces are fantastic and the variety of sandwiches is just enough to have a good amount of options. The fries are also delicious. A great fried chicken spot! This restaurant offers a great selection for fried chicken sandwiches, lots of unique options! The fries are also good no matter how you get them. I love the selection of sauces, they really make the meal! The only negative thing about this restaurant is every time my husband gets a sandwich that comes out piping hot and my chicken tenders come out barely lukewarm. We easily found a nice table outside and ordered quickly - my husband chose a Chicken Slider, I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and we ordered my baby girl a kid's meal of grilled cheese. My boyfriend and I last minute decided to head here for date night as we are located near the area and have been eyeing this place for a while. Super Chix was on my radar of new places to try. It's in the newer Town Center area of Chesapeake. We went on a good day because the line was moving quickly. You order up front then they call you to the counter to pickup your food. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. One thing that really caught my eye, was the sauce station. They offer ranch, Korean bbq, buffalo, house sauce, ketchup, and etc with condiments cups for no extra charge!! That's awesome to me!!! I ordered the chicken deluxe sandwich, loaded fries, and a vanilla custard for about $23. The price is definitely pricing, but the chicken was good quality and huge. The fries were a generous portion kinda like 5 guys, and they were tasty and fresh. The custard was creamy and pretty good. I did notice you get more cheese and toppings when you dine in. They give you a small cup for Togo toppings. Also the fries are in the bag in a open cardboard container, then they put my chicken sandwich container in the same bag. However, we ended up going and my husband and I each got Korean BBQ chicken sandwiches and shared a large serving of cheese fries. My friend got the Nashville hot sandwich with loaded fries. It was about $20/person. We really enjoyed our sandwiches, and the fries were great too! They use queso blanco for their cheese, so the cheese fries didn't have that fake manufactured taste to them. Came here with my best friend because we've heard a lot of great things. Upon entry we were reviewed the menu and were greeted. The man assisting us with our order was super friendly and patient. I also ordered a side of rosemary garlic fries. My bestie got 4 tenders and was able to get half regular and the other half Nashville hot upon request. She paired her tenders with Cajun fries. After receiving our order we went to get drinks. This restaurant offers only Pepsi products and I was not a fan of the selection so I just got a sweet tea and my friend got fruit punch. There is a sauce bar that I thought was pretty cool. You can try all of the sauces at a self serve station which is a great option if you don't want to get you tenders sauced and prefer to dip at your leisure. The sandwich off first bite was incredibly delicious. The ranch was light and flavorful, chicken crispy but not overbearing and the entire sandwich was well balanced. I cannot wait to have it again. The tenders were juicy and lightly crispy even while sauced. The Nashville hot sauce didn't taste as I'm particularly used to but it was flavorful and spicy so I enjoyed it on the tenders. After thought and comparison to other restaurants that serve tenders I can say these were easily the best chicken tenders I've ever had. I typically don't get tenders anywhere because they usually don't do it for me but I would order the tenders here again and again. The fries are served in abundance, hand cut, long and skinny. They were well seasoned and paired well with the rest of our meals. Before leaving we wanted to try the seasonal eggnog shake made with their frozen custard. It was creamy, had great flavor of eggnog and it and was topped with whipped cream and garnished with cinnamon. Overall I give this restaurant a 9/10. The location was clean and vibrant. I do not like everything spicy like alot of folks so I was pleasantly surprised that my sauce didn't have heat that everyone wants. The cheese was tasty and plentiful. It ran down my hand a bit and I am not the least bit ashamed to say I licked it right off my hand while holding fries in my other hand. The bun was soft and attached on one side. Initially I found that move irritating but the way the sandwich is enveloped in the wrapper it keeps all of your goodness from dripping out the back. I mentioned this place to my bestie and she commented it's a chain and that I don't normally do chain restaurants but let me tell you, I would eat at this spot every dang day if I lived closer. I believe I read that Super Chix is the brother or sister to Five Guys, hence the serving size of fries with your combo. My go to, the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with cajun fries. This is our every Saturday night meal. I've got to know the staff fairly well and this place will always be a recommendation. Love the serving size for what I pay, I feel like nowadays, with prices rising, it's hard to find good quality food for the price paid. There is a sauce bar with their sauces and my personal favorites in order are the Nashville Hot, Korean BBQ, and Signature sauce. The food came out hot and fresh and the large fries can really feed 3-4 people. The Deluxe was pretty delicious with the lettuce, tomato, and garlic aioli and the Nashville was drenched in sauce. My only complaint was that the chicken filets seemed a little small compared to the bun so by the end of it, you can end up just eating bread. They have several chicken sandwiches that you can get either get grilled or fried and I wish, I had taken a picture of the menu. I apologize for not doing that. I am a sucker for a buffalo chicken sandwich and theirs has a cool ranch dressing on it and very thick, sliced pickles. It was the best buffalo chicken sandwich I've ever had, so good. They also have salads which I'm going to try on my next visit and fresh cut french fries that you can get flavored either sweet, hot or what I chose was rosemary pepper, and I got a small order and more than half of them are in the fridge. It's a huge serving and very good. Their fountain drinks are Pepsi products which I'm a Coke girl, so that was kind of a disappointment but not a big deal. I think that you will be surprised at how good the food is. Take note my chicken sandwich was $9.99 and the regular fries were $4.99 and the fountain soda was $2.99. I really enjoyed my food, but the service I received was unusual, to say the least. When I walked into the store, I encountered what I would consider a microaggression. I approached an associate--a slim woman with glasses and a tan complexion--to pick up my order and provided the name it was under. I've been here twice, once alone and once with my young son. This place is so great. The decor is cute and the staff friendly. The food though, it's great. You're not coming here for fine dining but they are taking counter service up a notch. I've tried the kids meal slider and the Korean chicken sandwich and both are bomb. The kids meal seems a little high but when you realize it includes the sandwich, 2 portions of fries, a dessert and a drink, it's pretty awesome. I shared the fries with my kid and we still had some left. They offer some sort of glaze of the fries which is bomb and then they have countless sauces available for dipping or pouring or whatever. My son declared this one of his favorite places to eat. Give them a shot!! read more
