    The Spicy Pimp with fries
    John P.

We came for a late lunch. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the patio. The patio was a nice area with shade in the afternoon. The service was good but it could've been better. The food, we started with the Chicken Fried Cheese Curds which were delicious. I had the Spicy Pimp with fries and my wife had the Hot Honey Caesar Wrap. The fries were almost under cooked on both our meals. Both our chicken tasted burnt almost like bad oil in the fryer possibly. I have never seen fried chicken cutlets before but, It was disappointing. Drinks: I had the Love in a Trash can which tasted fine but, it was expensive for a small amount. My wife had the Starboard Drift and you couldn't taste the coconut. It was okay but also expensive for a small drink. Overall it was a bad experience for us. I would not recommend. This place has potential so I hope they can improve their food and service.

The bartender made the best Paloma I've ever had! I loved the bar decor and vibe. The staff is hardworking and friendly. My chicken and cheese sandwich was delicious, cheesy, and had the perfect taste. Place has amazing art and music always. Parking is easy, there's a parking garage with an exit that takes you right in front of the restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

When I first heard the name Neat Bird Whiskey Chicken, I was already sold whiskey and chicken are two of my favorite things, so this spot had my attention before I even walked through the door. Stepping inside, the vibe matched the promise of the name. The restaurant had this warm, inviting aesthetic a mix of rustic charm and modern comfort. Overall the atmosphere that makes you want to order a drink and settle in. As for the food? Let's just say they know what they're doing. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned the kind of bite that makes you pause mid-conversation. The whiskey element wasn't just a gimmick, it actually enhanced the flavor without overpowering it. My sides were fresh and well-seasoned, and everything came out hot and beautifully plated.

Great service and simply decadent rich food! Was a bit busy but we didn't wait long for seats. As a fellow bird lover seeing the popular "target birds" strewn around gave me a smile. Very warm and inviting atmosphere.

    Roasted chicken and roasted carrots

This is one of my favorite restaurants, mainly because of the roasted chicken and the roasted carrots. That meal alone is one of the best I've had in a long time. The restaurant is a little on the pricey side, but some of the items are absolutely worth it. On my last visit, I ordered a 3-piece chicken to go, all white meat, and it came to about $11. I received one breast and two very small wings. In hindsight, I should've just ordered the 2-piece white meat fried chicken for around $9 if I had known the wings would be that small. For me personally, some items are hit or miss, but there are a lot of things on the menu that I really enjoy. I don't care for the sweet tea or the Arnold Palmer, but that's just my taste. You really have to go and try the menu for yourself to see what you like. Overall, I love this restaurant. The wait staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the owner is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. His personality truly reflects in the restaurant. The ambiance--from the entrance, to the dining area, to even the bathrooms--is top notch. The crowd is always pleasant, and it's never a loud or uncomfortable atmosphere. This place is definitely a must-try. My taste buds may be different from everyone else's, but that's exactly why you should go and experience it for yourself. This is probably my 10th time eating here... that's how much I love it. I even have a friend who orders Uber Eats from here at least twice a month. A toe bender... Happy feet

Fantastic salads and sandwiches. Their house wines are also so very good. Old fashioned - Toby crushes those every time. Love this place.

We love NEAT BIRD! Normally we rock the pound of nuggies which are THE best chicken nugs on the planet!! We switched it up today. We love the story of how bob ross became a thing and a theme-ish in the bar! Ask your bartender or server. Very cool. We sat at the bar and were happily greeted by Logan who is SUPER awesome and friendly! My peeps had the "rocket water" which if you love carbonated water, just stop what you're doing and head to Neat Bird!! They have a top of the line Suntory Whiskey Tower that puts out the best highballs and the best carbonated water!! I had a beer then one of their highballs...SO good! My ladies ate the lunch chicken pot pie which comes with a little delicious salad and that was plenty for them. I had the sandwich and was delicious! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! All the humans that work there are just good people.

Always a great experience eating at this place! A group of six of us came to dine around 5/5:30 and there was no wait. We were seated quickly and our waitress was amazing !! Their chicken is always perfectly tender and perfectly seasoned. I opted to get the house salad, which comes with various toppings. I did modify it to be without blue cheese and tomatoes, which was no issue at all. Overall, I will definitely be back to try their other menu items like their mac and cheese and chicken sandwiches!!

Neat Bird is located in Greenbrier on the corner of the Dollar Tree complex. Upon arrival, the sign states to seat yourself and as soon as I sat down a nice young man name John Paul took my order. I ordered the strawberry chicken salad which was fresh just a couple of wilted leaves but it was still good. The basalmic glaze added to the flavor. I ordered a two piece friend chicken platter. There was a lot of breading but the chicken flavor was just okay but when I added the hot honey it made it all better.

This place is DELICIOUS! From the second we walked in we were greeted and sat down immediately (self seating arrangement). From that we were given the menus immediately with ideas of what we were ordering very soon. I ordered - Audible Sigh : The description being as it won an award.... makes a lot of sense! Super clean and bright drink with notable flavors that balanced each other out. The Gordo : The ingredients all within this entree shined the entire time! However, the Hot Honey Carrots are an item I feel as though everyone needs to try at least once!

It's well worth it to come here just for the bourbon selection. My Wife loves to stop by for a nightcap after we have had dinner elsewhere. Please don't misunderstand me, the food is excellent here, and I highly recommend it but we live in the 757 and there are sooo many different places to eat around here. I really love the Banana Pudding, made properly with Vanilla pudding and fresh bananas. This is a true masterpiece dessert! The Chicken Nuggets here are also sure to please even the most discriminating palates!

Best Hot Honey chicken sandwich I've found so far! They have chicken in the name, and chicken is their game! Breaded to perfection, seasoned underneath that breading, fried to PERFECTION, juicy and the hot had heat and the honey is sweet. Fresh house made pickles, and delicious soft n chewy bread. The sandwich is 5 stars. I also had the cheese curds, (delicious), the deviled eggs (delicious), and the banana pudding (delicious). Everything hit the way it was supposed to! The food was fresh, the menu is plentiful with all sorts of dishes and drinks to compliment them. I got a vodka drink with a melon soda mixer called a slime ball which was refreshing that I would drink that again too. Parking is scarce on the block, but there's a parking garage across the street so it was easy getting a spot. I will DEFINITELY make it back to this place again to experience more of the menu. Service was responsive, they work hard, expedite the food well and did a great job getting our group of four orders sorted out well. The ambiance is very laid back and relaxed, comfortable clothes is fine, but it's nice enough that if you're dressed for another event you won't feel out of place. I'll be back!

I'm really happy I found this new gem. My boyfriend was looking for gluten free options in the area and when we saw GF fried chicken options, we knew we had to try it. First thing I noticed when I walked in was that the music was great. I loved the old school hip hop. Gabby the bartender was amazing! I picked up to-go order and when I had to Come all the way back because some of my order was missing, Gabby made it right. I'm a fan of her and the restaurant for life. This is the best I've seen a restaurant handle a mistake in a while, and it's greatly appreciated. The gluten free BLT+C was amazing. It's hard to find gluten free fried chicken, so I'm so excited we found this spot. The GF bun was soft and the chicken was crispy. I also appreciated it was a big piece of chicken. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken sandwich as well. The fries were good when warm an it was a nice side salad. I'll for sure be going back for regular GF pieces of chicken, and I highly recommend, especially for the gluten free folks. Can't wait to go back.

So, I was hopeful that the WXYZ lounge and bar in Chesapeake would be similar and provide a great atmosphere to get together for a fun, chill hangout with our friends. We were not disappointed. There was ample seating and a large table where we were able to share a meal and play board games. The lounge has games in the lobby area, which we weren't expecting, but was nice to see. We had brought our own games. My friend ordered a mocktail and enjoyed it. The four of us ordered chicken buffalo dip and fish and chips to share. I couldn't eat the chicken buffalo dip because I have a dairy allergy, but everyone said it was good. I did really enjoy the fish and chips. The fries were hot, thick, and well seasoned. The cod was very tasty as well, the skin was perfectly crispy but the meat was tender inside. While we didn't take pictures of the menu this time, I took a look at the menu online and there are some options listed on the website that were not printed on the physical menus we saw, but for what was the same the prices matched. The fish and chips isn't on the website but was on the physical menu and was affordable (two pieces or cod and ample fries). Our server (also the bartender) was nice and provided good service. The hours that they're open make it a great hangout spot for Friday nights and weekends. The restrooms are clean. The noise level was moderate and fine. We definitely recommend for hanging out with friends and will be coming back in the future.

It's in the same group of buildings such as Michael's (around the corner). My visit here was on October 27, 2025. The outside view of the business is simple, but effective. They have a specials chalkboard next to the entrance. Parking wasn't an issue on this visit, but I'm sure it can fill up at busier times. My mom and I were both in the area as she wanted to go to the Michael's store here. When we came inside, it wasn't busy, as it was around 3:30 pm when we got here. We were greeted by the one who would be our server for this visit. He gave us menus to look at and asked us for our drink orders. I generally stick with water with lemon, which I did here. We were there during the time where it was still the lunch menu (though for us, it was more like dinner for us that day). When he came back with the drinks, he asked if we were ready to order, but we weren't just yet. He also asked if we had any questions about the menu and options and gave us more time to mull over the menu. When he came back, we weren't completely ready, but asked a question about the specials of the day. After that, we knew what we would get and placed our food order. My mom ordered the Meatloaf Lunch Special with mashed potatoes and spinach. I went with the Meatball Sub Lunch Special with mashed potatoes, though I don't normally do potatoes that often. After about ten minutes or so, the food came to the table. The food looked really good, and it was hot too. The bread for the Meatball Sub was very soft and easy to eat. The meatballs were huge and made for a worthy meal. The mashed potatoes with gravy was really good and fulfilling too. My mom loved the meatloaf, and their meatloaf doesn't have ketchup on it like some other places do. She loved the meatloaf, spinach, and mashed potatoes too. After we were done, he asked if we wanted any desserts. We both declined as I normally don't do them anymore. Overall, we both had an excellent experience here. The food and service were on point. The food I had that day did spike my blood sugars, but I expected that with bread and mashed potatoes. I don't make a habit of that though. They are a great local business. There are lots of food options to choose from. If you are looking for a place to eat while in this part of Chesapeake, this place is worth coming to.

We started the night with drinks: I went for a cold Modelo, while my friends both ordered margaritas, and wouldn't stop raving about how good they were! For appetizers, we shared the Union Trio! Fire roasted tomato salsa, creamy guacamole, and queso served with crisp tortilla chips. All three were fresh and delicious, a great way to kick off the meal. For my main, I mixed things up with a taco trio! Carne Asada (marinated steak, onion, queso fresco, avocado, cilantro), Chicken Tinga (marinated chicken, refried black beans, avocado, greens, queso fresco, cilantro) and Blackened Mahi (mezcal pickled onion, red cabbage, red pepper pico, chipotle sauce, cilantro). The blackened mahi was my hands down favorite. It was super flavorful with just the right amount of heat. My friends tried some awesome dishes too! One had the Coconut Curry Mahi (blackened mahi, jasmine rice, edamame succotash, with a rich coconut curry cream sauce) and the other had the Duck Confit Taco (with cherry salsa, pickled carrot salad, and cilantro-lime creme). Our waitress was phenomenal and definitely suggested great choices.
