Eggplant parmigiana
Dawn B.

We choose to spend our special occasions and are never disappointed! Monday night's Italian Heritage menu is currently our favorite. Our server Isaiah was the best, personable, attentive, had great recommendations and was just easy to chat with. The special off the menu was the ground lamb lasagna and after hearing the description, we were in. I always get the eggplant parmigiana because it never disappoints. Apps and desserts are a must and always with a great bottle of wine. The setting is classy but not stuffy. Make a reservation because the dining room fills up quickly for good reason. One of our favorite restaurants, always a memorable evening!

Visited again this last Friday and this place is truly top tier. There is no detail left out. This restaurant is sparkling clean and the first thing I noticed was how happy everyone was. That detail made this place that much more welcoming. You will not be disappointed, it's simply the best.

Sotto Scallops

Rating our visit 5 stars as I have no complaints. We entered through the door in the parking garage and walked up to the hostess stand where we were greeted and sat immediately. Our server was also quick to greet us. The restaurant had a sommelier on staff that night which was nice to help us pick out some wine to drink. We ordered the charred octopus appetizer, which was excellent. It was cooked to perfection and the glaze added a nice sweetness. For entrees we had the boar ragú and the sotto scallops. Both entrees were also excellent and cooked to perfection. The portions were also a fair size for the quality and price of the items. The atmosphere is nice inside with a chic modern decor style and open kitchen.

Branzino was brilliant, as was the hostess greeting us Happy Aniversary as well as was the waiter. Table clothes were steam ironed with precision. The bar staff were professional and well versed in their craft. Ambiance was classy with a nice vibe and the live musician was a much surprise treat. Now back to the food ...simply masterful, the grilled octopus was picture perfect and tasted even better. The Branzino was perfectly grilled with marks like artwork. Bravo. Made an easy reservation on Open Table for a birthday dinner, beautiful restaurant, with plenty of garage parking. Delicious pasta cooked perfectly al dente, fresh salad and delicious drinks! Was surprised to see that this high-end Italian restaurant charges you for bread though. Also no complimentary dessert for my birthday...bummer. The decor is lovely though, and service was superb!

Tortellini alla Panna

This was an exceptional dining experience! I ordered of the special menu and had Gamberi Calamari Fra Diavolo which was shrimp and calamari in a spicy sauce over capellini pasta. There was plenty of shrimp and calamari, with a middle of the road spicy sauce. While it was fine with me, my wife felt it was really on the edge for her. My wife had the Tortellini ala Panna which was also on the special menu. This was tortellini with onions, mushrooms, and peas in an Alfredo sauce. She felt it was wonderful. For dessert we had the Olive Oil Grand Marnier Cake, and this should come with a warning. We shared it and I'd find it very tough to see someone eating the entire dessert at one sitting. At the table the waiter poured olive oil over it before we ate. Service was also impeccable and everyone was at the top of their game. We were there on a night it was late and kind of empty. But I could see this place packed on a weekend. The inside was quite open a clearly a newer restaurant. They also have a huge wine cellar if that's to your liking. We were on vacation and while we rarely go back to a restaurant twice while visiting, this is one we might.

Let me start by saying that I am Italian, and as such - I don't typically like going out for Italian food (because usually I can make it better at home). Not only will the attentive staff blow you away with exceptional service, but the food is exceptional! My absolute favorite is the Rig and Goose, and adding shrimp to the dish - absolutely divine! The restaurant is done "in the round", and I love being able to see all around the space - so many interesting things to look at. Definitely go later in the day, they typically have live music, which is such a fabulous addition to the evening.

We walked in to Luce Secondo for a late evening meal, knowing we'd have to wait a little bit, but willing to do so at the bar. It has quite a nice bar with a small section of comfortable seating being the high seats at the actual bar. The drinks were good, mixed well, and the service at the bar was good. They also have a decent Bourbon list. We weren't at the bar for too long and we're seated with 20 or so minutes. The ambience in the whole place is lively and classy, very well decorated. From the bar, the dining area, the view of the kitchen, and even the bathrooms; it's a very nice place. The food was great too, we ordered two items from the specials from that night. Unfortunately I don't remember what they were exactly, but they were really good. The Wild Boar Ragu was good. The Clams in Brodo were amazing - great flavor. The service was really good attentive without being intrusive. Overall a very solid selection in the Chesapeake area, and the best of the restaurants in the Summit Point area in my opinion. Definitely recommended.

We absolutely loved our dinner at Luce Secondo. We've been to Luce in Norfolk before and somehow loved Secondo more. Our server was amazing, and our food came out fast and fresh. I love homemade pasta, and the Rig & Goose with chicken was everything I hoped it would be. My husband ordered the filet medium, and it was cooked a little over medium, but it still tasted great. The drinks were well made too. I love when restaurants have mocktail options! Lastly, their dessert menu is amazing! We had a hard time choosing but went with the pistachio cheesecake. It was flavorful, light, and so creamy. This is a great spot for a date night or a night out with friends. Anything on the menu is sure to satisfy. You'll have a great time for sure!

I had an amazing dinner at Luce Secondo. First, you have to make reservations. I made it through the Rezy app, it was super easy. We got to the restaurant, parking garage is spacious. Walked into Luce Secondo and were welcomed by a friendly hostess and seated in front of the Jazz Band that was playing . That was cool and a pleasant surprise ! I ordered the Wild boar Ragu and the Rigatoni for with sausage and mushrooms. Both dishes were exquisite! Yummy! I also tried the escargot and tuna appetizer. The escargot was better than the tuna , just a preference both were delicious and tasty. The place was packed and it was a really nice and fancy vibe. They have fresh flowers as part of their decor which I thought was a nice touch. We ordered dessert. The apple tart and the crème brûlée. Probably my favorite part of the meal! It was an overall great experience!

Goat Cheese and Pesto

Girl Dinner at Luce Secondo Visited Luce Secondo with a friend for a proper girl dinner--and let me just say, this place is pure magic. Walking in, it felt like stepping straight into a scene from a glamorous movie: elegant, glitzy, and fabulous. We were greeted right away and whisked to our table like queens. Drinks: I ordered the Sicilian Crush and my friend went with She's My Cherry Pie. Both were so fresh, so fun, and so good that we didn't even hesitate to order a second round when the food arrived. Starter: We shared the Goat Cheese & Pesto appetizer (a last-second pick from my friend). Honestly, I didn't think I liked goat cheese OR pesto... but turns out, I just hadn't had it done right. Add in artichoke hearts, briny olives, and crusty bread? Literal chef's kiss. ‍ Main Event: Choosing my entrée was dramatic--I was torn between rigatoni and scallops until the server turned to me with, "for you, ma'am?" and suddenly I blurted out Costata di Maiale e Funghi. Best impulsive decision of my life. This dish was a 24-hour herb-brined pork ribeye with mushrooms, marsala wine, and the star of the entire evening: fontina-filled gnocchi. When the plate arrived... I died. Straight to heaven. Two weeks later, I'm still daydreaming about those gnocchi. If you don't order the pork ribeye, at least get a side of gnocchi. Trust me, it's life-changing. The pork? Perfectly cooked--juicy and tender. The mushrooms? Flavor-packed. The marsala sauce? Holy smokes. Unbelievable. I thought I'd never taste marsala this good again after my old favorite Italian spot closed a decade ago... but here it was, back in my life, better than ever. Final Thoughts: This meal wasn't just dinner--it was a symphony. A rollercoaster of emotions and flavors. Believe the hype, run (don't walk), and order the gnocchi. 10/10.

Veal saltimbocca
Cat C.

Veal saltimbocca was delicious! I got a side of garlic green beans which was also delicious. I originally asked if the veal came with spinach and the server said no... but it did come with sautéed spinach. ‍ Wine was perfect and the wine expert was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. He had SO much knowledge. Ambiance is gorgeous as always! Always so clean and such a great experience. I will be back!

Maple Bourbon Crème Brûlée

Overall Luce was really good. However Luce is a restaurant I would consider more of an Italian Fusion than a traditional Italian restaurant. Their strengths are a very diverse, quality, and great bar menu from wines to cocktails and everything in between. Our server Jon was absolute gold. Extremely attentive without being over bearing. Now for the food. If you've never ate at a Michelin restaurant or been to Italy, you'd probably love Luce. However my partner and I have had both experiences. Our Calamari appetizer was very good. The breading was light and crispy and the tomato sauce was seasoned well. I had the Ahi Tuna. It was extremely salty, which leads me to believe it's kept in a brine to extend the shelf life versus as fresh as one would hope. The polenta was absolutely perfect. My partner had the Duck. The Duck was made for the masses in that it tasted farm raised not wild. It was honestly hard to taste the difference between the Duck and really great tender pulled chicken. The pasta it was served with was amazing. Very tender and perfect texture. For dessert we had the Maple Bourbon Creme Brûlée and cappuccino. The crème brûlée was absolutely wonderful and a great take on a traditional classic dessert. The cappuccino was made for the masses in that it was Americanized. It tasted good, it just wasn't as robust as I would expect if I was in Italy, which again, Luce is in Chesapeake, not Italy. The vibe of the main dining room is very trendy and modern. If you have a hearing sensitivity or any sensory concerns you might consider the private dining option. The main dining room was not created with acoustics in mind. I will say upon first entry our hostess was not very outgoing or welcoming and there was some confusion given that we requested a table against the wall versus the one we were seated at in the middle of the dining room. I asked about potentially changing and was informed that was not an option even though there were open tables intermittently throughout the evening. For me it's the small things that make or break what I expect of a fine dining experience. Too bad we can't take Jon and have him as our sever at other restaurants, because he alone is what made our experience and the only reason I am not rating Luce as a 3 star.

Tuna , with tomatoes , olives and polenta , being enjoyed at home , melt in your mouth flavor !

What is the parking in that area besides valet?

It’s fantastic and plentiful. They have a covered garage with a lot of space available. Across the street there is an open parking lot and they also offer valet parking.

Is there a dress code for the restaurant? Or are jeans acceptable?

No, I wore jeans and a long sleeve Carhartt shirt, it's a very nice restaurant that you don't have to conform to a dress code for.

Will gratuity be added to the check for a large party?

Yes it is procedure for party’s of 6 or greater.

Fridays

Are reservations required?

Not required but certainly recommended. If you don't mind sitting at the bar you might be able to score a seat there. This is the hottest new restaurant in the area and are usually very busy especially on the weekends when they have live music. I… Read more

Is the pasta fresh?

Yes all of our pasta is made daily in house. Our gluten free is imported from Italy and is a combo of corn and rice. All are beautiful.

So, I was hopeful that the WXYZ lounge and bar in Chesapeake would be similar and provide a great atmosphere to get together for a fun, chill hangout with our friends. We were not disappointed. There was ample seating and a large table where we were able to share a meal and play board games. The lounge has games in the lobby area, which we weren't expecting, but was nice to see. We had brought our own games. My friend ordered a mocktail and enjoyed it. The four of us ordered chicken buffalo dip and fish and chips to share. I couldn't eat the chicken buffalo dip because I have a dairy allergy, but everyone said it was good. I did really enjoy the fish and chips. The fries were hot, thick, and well seasoned. The cod was very tasty as well, the skin was perfectly crispy but the meat was tender inside. While we didn't take pictures of the menu this time, I took a look at the menu online and there are some options listed on the website that were not printed on the physical menus we saw, but for what was the same the prices matched. The fish and chips isn't on the website but was on the physical menu and was affordable (two pieces or cod and ample fries). Our server (also the bartender) was nice and provided good service. The hours that they're open make it a great hangout spot for Friday nights and weekends. The restrooms are clean. The noise level was moderate and fine. We definitely recommend for hanging out with friends and will be coming back in the future.

It's in the same group of buildings such as Michael's (around the corner). My visit here was on October 27, 2025. The outside view of the business is simple, but effective. They have a specials chalkboard next to the entrance. Parking wasn't an issue on this visit, but I'm sure it can fill up at busier times. My mom and I were both in the area as she wanted to go to the Michael's store here. When we came inside, it wasn't busy, as it was around 3:30 pm when we got here. We were greeted by the one who would be our server for this visit. He gave us menus to look at and asked us for our drink orders. I generally stick with water with lemon, which I did here. We were there during the time where it was still the lunch menu (though for us, it was more like dinner for us that day). When he came back with the drinks, he asked if we were ready to order, but we weren't just yet. He also asked if we had any questions about the menu and options and gave us more time to mull over the menu. When he came back, we weren't completely ready, but asked a question about the specials of the day. After that, we knew what we would get and placed our food order. My mom ordered the Meatloaf Lunch Special with mashed potatoes and spinach. I went with the Meatball Sub Lunch Special with mashed potatoes, though I don't normally do potatoes that often. After about ten minutes or so, the food came to the table. The food looked really good, and it was hot too. The bread for the Meatball Sub was very soft and easy to eat. The meatballs were huge and made for a worthy meal. The mashed potatoes with gravy was really good and fulfilling too. My mom loved the meatloaf, and their meatloaf doesn't have ketchup on it like some other places do. She loved the meatloaf, spinach, and mashed potatoes too. After we were done, he asked if we wanted any desserts. We both declined as I normally don't do them anymore. Overall, we both had an excellent experience here. The food and service were on point. The food I had that day did spike my blood sugars, but I expected that with bread and mashed potatoes. I don't make a habit of that though. They are a great local business. There are lots of food options to choose from. If you are looking for a place to eat while in this part of Chesapeake, this place is worth coming to.

Fire roasted tomato salsa, creamy guacamole, and queso served with crisp tortilla chips. All three were fresh and delicious, a great way to kick off the meal. For my main, I mixed things up with a taco trio! Carne Asada (marinated steak, onion, queso fresco, avocado, cilantro), Chicken Tinga (marinated chicken, refried black beans, avocado, greens, queso fresco, cilantro) and Blackened Mahi (mezcal pickled onion, red cabbage, red pepper pico, chipotle sauce, cilantro). The blackened mahi was my hands down favorite. It was super flavorful with just the right amount of heat. My friends tried some awesome dishes too! One had the Coconut Curry Mahi (blackened mahi, jasmine rice, edamame succotash, with a rich coconut curry cream sauce) and the other had the Duck Confit Taco (with cherry salsa, pickled carrot salad, and cilantro-lime creme). Our waitress was phenomenal and definitely suggested great choices.
