Meatloaf
Lauren P.

We struck gold with this bone marrow topped with chimichurri and parmesan. The bread was toasted just right--crisp yet soft enough to soak up every bit of richness. The bison meatloaf with gruyere mash was devoured alongside the tender bison sliders with caramelized onions. The Honey & Fire cocktail captured the moody allure of the vintage speakeasy vibe to top off the meal. The service was not bad. Our waitress was busy but she was still able to answer some of our questions.

If you're looking for a unique dining experience in Portsmouth, Still Worldly Electric Tapas is a must visit. It's located downstairs in an old house, which gives the ambiance of cozy charm with a rustic feel. The all tapas menu means everything arrives fresh, and as soon as it's ready, which keeps the excitement going and the flavors constantly flowing. Our group of four went all out and ordered a generous selection of dishes it share To start, of course I ordered the espresso martini. 10/10. I love when places offer it with our without baileys. Personally, I love it without. Perfect way to start the evening. The crab dip was served with jumbo lump crab with old bay, served with perfectly crisp crostini that made each bite tasty. I love a good crab dip, and this one definitely hit the spot. The baked brie was oozing with truffle and honey! Topped on top of a crispy baguette, it was the perfect balance of flavors. My friends ordered the beef tartare served with sharp Dijon, briny capers, and silky egg. Not my style, but they enjoyed it! The star of the night was the scallops. Three scallops, served in a white wine sauce packed with flavor, fresh chive oil, and salmon roe. So much flavor in this dish, I loved it. The chicken piccata a close second favorite. Topped over homemade fettuccine with parmesan, lemon and capers. To finish, we enjoyed the bread pudding! It was warm, tasty and not too sweet. We all indulged in this one. Service was absolutely top notch! Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food. Every interaction felt personal and attentive. Can't wait to return!

Vegetable Dumplings...good, sauce could have been kicked up.

We brought friends in from Boston here, looking for a place we could kick back and chat and not feel stuffy. This was the place. Great relaxing vibe. The waitstaff was amazing, very informative and patient. The cocktails were FANTASTIC, though not consistent. The food was good but it's more a place to go for chatting & nibbling, you're not leaving feeling overfed. We will be back, if just for the bar!

We enjoyed Still! Great vibes and unique downstairs speakeasy vibes... they have an expansive wrap-around bar area with tons of bar seating and then high-top and couches to hang out. We dined in the main dining room and our server, Christopher, was excellent. He paid just enough attention to us, was able to answer easy questions, and quickly resolved any issues we had. The food was so-so... probably a 3. But the ambiance, bar and service were solid 5 so I'm rounding up to 3.8-4. We had: -a few mocktails and whiskey drinks - great prices and huge selection of whiskey and wine -crab dip -halloumi caprese -veggie dumplings -seared tuna -bison meatloaf -raspberry cobbler The crab dip was SO salty. Toast points were delicious and perfectly toasted but the dip itself was sooooo salty. The dumplings and capers were very good. Tuna and bison meatloaf were delish. We asked for the tuna to be medium/well/well bc I'm pregnant and it wasn't right at first, but was quickly remedied by the kitchen. VERY good and served with a side of seaweed salad. The raspberry cobbler was disappointing. Next time, we'd go with the whiskey bread pudding. It was served as two little cups... kind'a plain and not that special. All in all - unique and fun. We'd love to come back and hang at the bar and get some apps. Parking was easy on the street or a nearby lot.

I went here for the first time in ages, and I was so pleased with the food and service!! Everything was absolutely delicious. The vibe in Still is oh so chill. It puts you in the mind of a speakeasy, but with good food to match the specially crafted spirits. Most of their items that have breading are gluten-free friendly, and all of their pasta is gluten-free, which made me ecstatic! The calamari was cooked perfectly. There was just the right amount of crunch without being too hard. The maple bourbon glazed carrots were quite tasty - I even shared with my group. The bacon-wrapped tots are a must -- even if you don't eat pork, I mean it's bacon people!! The lamb was cooked perfectly and served with goat cheese, Brussel sprouts and fig jam...yum yum yum! I also had a Spiced Cranberry Rita, which had cranberry and cinnamon so it reminded me of a holiday sangria. They have a good amount of seating and can even accommodate a large group. Check it out!! You won't be disappointed!!

So you walk in and it definitely hits all the marks for a speakeasy, kinda hidden door, a little walkway down into the restaurant makes you feel like you are away from the world. It's a great place for a date but at the same time I could literally hear everything the couple next to our group was talking about because our tables were almost on top of each other. Service was quick and efficient without being overwhelmingly on top of us. They tell you a head of time that it's tapas, so small portions and no order as to when the food comes out just when it's ready. But everything was fresh and delicious so I'm alright with it. The drinks were very artistic, some tasty others not so much, in some cases my friends said they were hard pressed to spend 13$ for that cocktail when the amount of alcohol was low but on the flip side others were very strong and definitely worth the price tag. So kinda split on the drinks. Now the food. ..omg delicious. I had the fillet rare and I'd order it again in a heartbeat. Perfectly cooked, the potatoes with it were delicious, and the sauce mmmm *chefs kiss* the creme brulee was delicious though the hard shell was not as caramelized as I'd like no crack when I struck the top. Maybe a heavier hand on the sugar needed? But I'd definitely order it again as the flavor was magnificent.

Wow! I loved everything about Still. The ambiance is so cool. It has a speakeasy vibe as you enter through a door on the side of a house. As you enter the restaurant, you see a bar and lounge. The dining area feels like you're relaxing over a meal in a friend's house. The variety on the menu was fantastic! We tried the bacon wrapped tots, vegetable potstickers, and charcuterie board as appetizers. Great portions for appetizers and prepared perfectly. For meals we got the cast iron filet with mashed potatoes and meatloaf with asparagus. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. Desserts were absolutely delicious as well. Everything was absolutely perfect from the service to the options to the preparation. We're so glad that we found Still and plan to go back regularly!

What a cute little place to have a nice first date. The food sizes are small, like finger food portions. (Tapas), so get plenty and share. (Portions are too small, need to be a little bigger) The staff is friendly and helpful. The drinks are really good and the food was okay. I can't say it was the best I've ever had, but I would say that it's more the experience. The food is well seasoned. The she crab dip was extremely rich. I would suggest you eat it with the bread. (Which I wish was a bit softer) The shrimp scampi was a little disappointing. 2 shrimp 2 scallops and a spoon full of crab meat spread around the plate. I would go back for a quick little bite to eat and a drink on my way to a social event that was serving appetizers so that I felt I had enough to eat for the day.

However, the food took longer to arrive than I have experienced at other venues. While I am generally patient, the extended wait began to cause some frustration. When the food finally arrived, I was somewhat disappointed, as several dishes, such as the macaroni and cheese and green beans, were overly seasoned. My mother found the macaroni and cheese to be okay , but I found it excessively salty. Overall, I would rate the food a 5 out of 10. After some time, we were ready for our check, but our server was unavailable and took an extended period to return, even to check on how we were doing or to bring the bill. She did check on us after the food arrived, but during the wait, my mother and I grew increasingly annoyed and were ready to leave. Instead, we continued to wait. I later realized that she may have been assisting another group with a large event, which I understand is not her fault but likely a decision made by management. Ideally, she should not have been attending to multiple tables simultaneously, especially during a busy period involving a large party. As a result of the service experience, I did not feel inclined to leave a tip. We were aware that increased patience might have been necessary due to the larger party being served. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return to this establishment.

We were surprised by how large the restaurant is. There is plenty of seating. The waitress came and brought us menus. Since it was holy hour I tried 5of the fried shrimp for a starter. I lap got a bahama mama and my friend got a tropical margarita. The shrimp were big and full of flavor, a little on the salty side but the cocktail sauce balanced them out For entrees I got the fried pork chops menu friend got turkey wings. We both got rice & gravy and collards for our sides. While we waited for our food there was a DJ playing music that kept the vibe going. Even with the amount of people it did not take a really long time for our food to come. I hadn't had fried pork chops in a while and they were really good. Crunchy but not too crunchy. The rice and gravy was pretty good and the collards weren't bad, a little overcooked for my liking. The cornbread was light and super sweet. It went well with the collards. Defiantly a great place for good food and good music on a Friday!!

I researched locations. Not our first time eating in this area at all. I have been wanting a good burger. This place fit the bill or so I thought. Bae ordered his smash burger pink. I ordered no pink. Both of us got double patties. Full transparency, I have cooked smash burgers myself. They are thin and cook quickly. Pink? I didn't want to take my chances on an undercooked burger. The menu only provides two options: pink and no pink. Simple! First the meatballs were delicious and not because we were starving. Cassidy was very patient and gave us plenty of time to make a decision. My first burger - looks can be deceiving. Zoom in. You'll see the burned edge of the bun and black onions. When I opened the burger to add mayo I discovered almost al the onions were black and there was no bacon to be found. Cassidy agrees that my onions were crissspy and not in a good way. She refires my burger. Bae's burger must have been fine. He made short work of it. The one time I did peek over his patty looked more no pink than pink so they didn't get that right either. My second burger? Cassidy and I agreed it was a marked improvement. I was impressed at how fast the second burger landed on the table. I'd already eaten the Brussel sprouts. Let's say the garlic butter didn't really taste like garlic or butter more like cheese. They did have a crispness to them like Cassidy said they would. An acceptable side. I had fries last night and didn't want more again tonight. Back to this second burger - after Cassidy left the table I cut it on two. Look at the pic. One chunk was raw. Pink pink. I was not with that. Not to mention no crispy edges. That ended my night. My long awaited dinner was a side dish. I told Cassidy that the message was received from the kitchen. They don't want me as a customer and that I was fine not to order anything else or return again. The music was a bit too loud for me. Playlist or channel was going me MTV of the late 80s early 90s. Awesome but just a bit too loud. They started getting a crowd as we were leaving. So this spot must get cranking as the night progresses. Thank you Cassidy for good service. Sorry the kitchen lost a customer.

It's the kind of establishment that understands both execution and consistency--two qualities that are increasingly rare and always appreciated. The shrimp and grits remains a signature highlight. The Creole sauce offers a restrained heat, balanced by a layered depth of flavor that speaks to careful preparation rather than excess. The shrimp are properly cooked, retaining a delicate snap, while the stone-ground grits provide a well-seasoned, creamy foundation. Each component is thoughtfully prepared, and together they form a cohesive dish that feels both composed and satisfying--an authentic nod to Cajun tradition without unnecessary embellishment. I swear I'm not making this up, this actually happened: 1) it took over 2.5 hours for the entrees to come out. One came out so early that by the time the second set came out they were already done. 2) The only appetizer that was ordered that actually came out, arrived after the entree was done. 3) One person's order had to be changed 5x because the waiter kept coming back to say they're out. Just for your awareness, there's a dresscode here, and rightly so, it's definitely an upscale restaurant. We sat at a hi-top in the bar area, which is a nice, cellar-looking area in the lower level of the restaurant. Our server was excellent! She explained that she's one of the sommeliers there and provided some pretty good feedback on their wine selection. Their menu is fairly typical of upper-end, prime steakhouses. There were many appetizing items to choose from, I had a tough time deciding. I was leaning towards their fried shrimp entrée, especially after seeing other people's pictures of it on social media. I would never normally get this, but their shrimp pics looked amazing. I started with their Greek salad - This was a HUGE salad, big enough for an entrée, especially if you add a protein to it. It was fabulous! Lots of fresh veggies in it, the dressing was excellent, and the flavors were so very good! This is definitely worthy of splitting, which I'll do next time I return. Next up was my entrée and I chose their smaller filet with an add-on of fried shrimp. I really wanted to try this shrimp and this was a way that I could try their beef and the shrimp and this was an absolutely AMAZING entrée selection!! The shrimp were HUGE! They were perfectly and beautifully battered and fried and looked stunning! The steak was spot-on! I ordered medium rare plus and if I had to guess from looking at it, it was probably 134-135 degrees! The flavor was great too! Their steak is definitely worthy of eating without any add-on or sauce. For sides we tried their Mashed Potatoes and their Haricot Verts and both were outstanding! The nice thing about this place is they actually list half portions of sides in their menu! Many places offer it, but you have to ask and if it's just two people dining, half portions are the perfect size. Save room for dessert, they offer many options! In my case, I was so full, I simply opted for a scoop of their blood orange sorbet and it was the best finish for a great dinner. Definitely will return and would recommend Byrd & Baldwin Bros for a nice evening and great dinner experience!
