This place is not handicap accessible regardless of the law. I went with six women from a senior independent facility. One of us is wheelchair bound. There was a lift visible but we were told it hadn't worked in two years. When the reservation was made it was stated that there was a lift. The manager offered to carry her up the stairs, a very unsafe and humiliating option. This was a very embarrassing situation for one of us and uncomfortable for all of us. read more

I've called in the past 20 minutes before I'm going to arrive and confirmed that they have availability and the stewardess has told me not to make a reservation and I still arrive and receive a weird eyebrow that I am there without a reservation. However, other than that, the food is absolutely amazing. Service is typically great too. The bacon wrapped dates are incredible and the lunch specials are amazing sizes with great flavors and great wine pairings for an affordable price! Had a opportunity to have a afternoon out at Press 626. This little home turned restaurant is so welcoming. We were warmly greeted as soon as I walked and immediately seated. Our waitress Rachel gave us some wonderful food and wine recommendations. She was so wonderful and attentive! We ordered the pork dumplings that was severed in black vinegar!!!! Oh my goodness sooooo amazing 10/10. We also had the shrimp tempura. Tasty. 8/10. The baked goat cheese with roasted garlic, olives and roasted red pepper , also amazing 10/10. This week try out something new and different a wine bar like this one it's definitely different where you have more open space for both people that want to dine in solo or as a group. Definitely will try that next time I visit. we also did lunch special where you get a half sandwich with a choice of rosemary tots or fries for $11 dollars. She recommended the duck sandwich it's fan favorite at the restaurant from the server who was helping us decide which one is the best. This sandwich was delicious and sweet and savory with full amount of richness to it and to breakthrough was the fig jam absolutely delicious. Unlocked a new version of sandwich and it was worth it the rosemary fries were definitely a showstopper they had both combined flavors of rosemary in a way where it hits your pallet as soon as you taste you get that light taste of rosemary and that classic crispy and airy taste of fries next time I would probably do that combo where you have a salad with the fries and champagne. They also have an event coming up where it course dinner inspired East Asian wine Nov 10th if you need plans this week I would certainly try this and they showcase the menu of what they will be serving throughout the night. Not my first time here, but this is one of my favorites when I am visiting near the Chrysler. The place is beautiful and quiet , and nice for a solo lunch or date night. They do amazing events, so I may have to take off early to join in. If you're a wine lover this place is a must. I had a GREAT time at 626 Wine Bar! It's been on my list since we moved here two years ago. We came with another couple and made it a double date night :) FOOD: Gosh we ordered SO MANY things. The night we came they had run out of a few things on the menu - idk if that's normal or not - so our choices were a bit slim. We decided just to order several small plates and share it all. The LAMB MEATBALLS were exquisite and juicy. The WARM BEETS & BRUSSELS were surprisingly yummy. I've never had that combination before, but the toasted almonds and the spicy coconut cream really brought the flavors together so well. The CHEAP DATES are wrapped in bacon and placed over blue cheese sauce - I'm not the biggest fan of bacon, so I just took a bite, and the flavors worked well together; I'd never think to wrap a date in bacon. The JUMBO FRIED SHRIMP was one of my favorite dishes, mainly because the breading wasn't thick and crusty like most places. SERVICE: Our server was friendly and suggested many things! The food came out promptly - no complaints there. ATMOSPHERE: Intimate and romantic (if you want it to be). The first floor was all booked up, so they offered to sit us upstairs, which was a great choice. It's quieter upstairs, but that was totally fine for us because we didn't have to scream at each other when we talked. Downstairs is a lot louder. Will I return? Yeah, it is a sweet date night spot. Let me start with the staff our waiter, Tristan was fantastic. he was very attentive with a great sense of humor, and the host was equally so. They sat us immediately in a quiet area so we could talk and laugh without being drowned out by crowd noise. We went during happy hour and enjoyed the. Blanc de Blanc and the sangria. I love this wine bar, it is unique in the fact that it is housed, and it appears to be a historic home that has been renovated and outfitted to serve as a restaurant. The restaurant is gorgeous and cozy. The staff were friendly and are more than happy to give recommendations based on your personal taste if it is your first time. One of my favorite spots in Norfolk/Ghent area. This is a pure wine bar with amazing food & hospitality. No matter how often I visit, I receive 5 star treatment from staff w/ food/drinks to match. Happy hour is Mon-Sat, 4-6pm. They have bar seating, about 10 spots with good amount of seating inside with a few options right outside on the porch. It's a huge white building on the corner, across from the hospital. ALSO, it's a VIBE when you get in here! The music is on point - when I was here recently, they played SZA's entire album. My go to is the Cheap Date, it comes on a bed of blue cheese (mind you, I don't care for blue cheese) and I was surprised how everything paired. The sweetness of the dates, the Smokey bacon, and the sour taste of blue cheese married well. Wine choices are immense & the staff are incredibly knowledgeable of the wine menu. Ask what wine pairs with whichever dish and you won't be disappointed. The burger is great - no complaints. The duck grilled cheese is award winning but it wasn't my favorite. All seafood I've had here is done right. My new favorite is the gnocchi w/ shrimp. For wine, we had their Chardonnay blanc de blanc and Bonelli red blend. Service was good! Due to my concussion the noise of the restaurant was a little much for me, but once I am healed, I would love to dine inside. The patio has a rustic and earthy vibe when you walk into the restaurant. Parking was a little difficult if you didn't know the area. There is street parking in some neighborhoods if the free parking behind the restaurant is filled. I sat for 10 minutes or so with no interaction from waitstaff and finally had to ask someone for a drink. The whole evening, between ordering and servi e took a lot longer than it should have,equalingaround 45 minutes altogether. Very slow! When we were ready to leave at about 7, the hostess said our reservation time was up after we had continually ordered food and drink to the tune of over 100$. I would like to try dining here at night because I noticed the fairy lights. Given the location and the décor, I'm sure its a whole vibe at night. I felt like a light bite to eat with a mimosa or two for lunch so I decided to go with the charcuterie board that comes with 5 items meat/cheese of your choice which was priced at $28. It was good however, it was very basic to me. I feel like there are so many other elaborate created charcuterie boards out there for the same price so I wasn't really impressed with that.
