This is a great spot and it used to be a hell of a lot better when there was mac & cheese bowls on the menu which was the stand out for this place. I'm really not understanding how you expand and then take the best item off the menu. So that reason you get a three instead of a five. Stopped at the Comfy Belly for a late lunch, a friend had recommended it to me as a good dive bar. You can tell immediately that the comfy belly is a locals favorite, they offer daily happy hour specials and pitches of mixed drinks! I visited during lunchtime and the service was great. I ordered a chicken Philly with fries and washed it down with a local IPA. The food was good and priced reasonably. The bar area is well kept and they offer virtual dart boards and pool. We stopped in for an early lunch on a Sunday. Seems like a great hangout to watch sports. The fried mac and cheese was a fun starter and we split a BLT and Philly sandwhich with fries. Both were pretty good although the Philly was a touch on the salty side. I can see why this is a popular hangout for local and sports crowds. I will say that the bar/pub/restaurant is very no frills, but the food (at least for breakfast) was pretty decent. Our waitress/bartender was pretty nice and friendly. The only small annoyance was the restaurant did not have quite a few food items during our visit. After handing us the menus, the waitress was like we do not have A, B, C, D, E. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon (5/4/19), mainly because I felt like trying someplace I haven't been before. I was originally going to dine at Misako, but I saw The Comfy Belly along the way and figured, "Why not?" Comfy Belly isn't terribly big, but they have patio seating, which is always welcome. I decided to sit at the bar, where most of their current patrons were sitting. The bartender was nice, although not overly friendly and she was great with the refills (I sat at the bar but I only ordered sweet tea). I didn't ask many questions about the menu - everything seemed self-explanatory, but the bartender didn't seem like she would offer much explanation. Outside of my sweet tea, I ordered two items - the Big Belly: a sandwich with grilled mushrooms, caramelized onions, smashed potatoes smothered in brown gravy; and tuna bites: chucks of tuna seasoned and seared to perfection and served with a ginger lime dipping sauce. I liked the tuna bites - they were cooked just right and the seasoning went well with the fish. The dipping sauce was pretty good, too, so this is a dish I would order again. The Big Belly is a heavy dish, albeit a tasty one. I felt kinda sluggish afterwards, so it seemingly will give you the itis. Honestly, it doesn't look good when you see it up close, but it makes up for looks with taste and heartiness. I have to comment, though, on the mood. Comfy Belly feels like a place that doesn't "wake up" until the evening. With it being mostly empty the vibe was tired and distant yet still friendly. The Comfy Belly is a friendly, fun "dive" bar with good basic food. We had a great time here. Despite being totally unpretentious, they had a good selection of local/regional craft beers on tap (actually their only draft beer options). They also had several bottle options for those who prefer Bud Light and the like. The menu was simple, wings, burgers, pizza, and the like. We ordered some wings, and they were really excellent. The waiter/bartender was the only one working - he was quite personable, knowledgeable and friendly - but busy. I had the Italian sub heated and GF had the BLT. We were both very pleased with the food despite the wait. The fries came with housemade ranch that was fantastic. The Italian had ample meat and cheese but not overflowing. The BLT had fresh tomatoes and several slices of bacon. There are pool tables and electronic dart boards. I imagine the place is hopping at night. They advertise themselves as a locals locale. So, I had really high hopes for this place but I was a little let down. TL;DR: It's fun to drink here but I wouldn't eat here. The atmosphere was great! It's got that dive bar atmosphere but not grungy. It's fun to look at the ceiling tiles which were painted by various guests. Plus all your bar staples are there including a "juke box" and dart boards. I did not notice if there was a pool table though. The food however, is mediocre at best. My wife and I ordered two burgers, both were supposed to be medium rare, but were past well done. The mac and cheese was very dry and tasteless. The "smashed potato" was just mashed potatoes. The French fries you could tell were fresh cut fries but were not crispy at all and were even a bit slimy. I wouldn't mind coming here again though, I just wouldn't eat here. read more

I ejected to sit at the bar and was quickly greeted by the bartender/waitress. She was friendly and provided a menu. There were a few basics for breakfast, but no stand outs. I decided on the breakfast burrito and coffee. The coffee was in front of me quickly. However, it was below par, but drinkable. A few other customs were at the bar too! A server came in the door to start her shift. She had long dark hair that was soaked as if she just got out of the shower. It was not a professional appearance. My food arrived shortly after, maybe 15 minutes. There was not a lot of flavor, the burrito was pretty average. Possibly was hot sauce etc would have helped. But I don't care for that stuff. While eating the waitress who had just arrived began flipping her hair back and forth coming way too close to my meal and grossing me out. My server did ask how the meal was and provided a refill. Before departing I used the restroom. I found the men's room clean with proper supplies. It actually was nicer than what I would have expected. If I try them again it will be for late night drink and music. 2.5 rounding up. Just not impressed. read more

it's a good little joint on the corner of Northampton blvd and pleasure house rd. there is a deck that is probably really nice in the summer. cheap beers and a very small draft selection. they offer happy hour meals of the day and happy hour is until 7! we got to play darts which my kid enjoyed. the bartender was super nice and it was clean. it's a local vibe with country music, sports and Fox News on the TV. The place is a little small on the inside but has that nice cozy local bar type of feeling. I really appreciated the patio space they also had (which also turned out to be a great place to catch random fireworks). This place is right up the street from my house and I'm annoyed at myself that it took so long for me to finally make my way over here because it's SO good. First off, you can tell it's a primarily "locals hangout" from when you first opened the door but the bartender greeted us like we'd been coming there forever. She also ended up serving us which was nice. She let us know about all the Wednesday specials (likes the pasta special and the $5 liquor pitchers). We decided on a mushroom Swiss burger with Mac for the side and the bacon egg and cheese burger with old bay fries. We also ordered the creamsicle liquor pitcher (per her suggestion) and the pink lemonade liquor pitcher. Everything was delicious!! Aside from the food, the place seemed to be a really chill place to just hang out. They have several TVs and two dart boards along with a huge bar and table seating. I come to this place almost weekly, the pizzas are very good and the fried pickles are awesome. The bartender Nichol was super, my girlfriend ordered some house special drinks and loved them.
