Too noisy to be technically "romantic," yet "moody" enough to provide the setting for a great "date night." Stopped in to see a friend during our visit here in the Norfolk area. Unfortunately, our friend is moved on so we were there left to our own accords. They have a great happy hour but other than that it's just okay. It's in Town Center and they have free parking. HH starts at 3 so I was there shortly after that. It was already semi crowded for a Friday afternoon. The bar is huge!!! I found 2 seats and we ordered. The bartender was very friendly. We ordered Spinach Dip and Boneless wings with Korean Chili Garlic. We were told they were not spicy. The food was okay. Not bad, not great. The wings were spicy!!! They do have lots of options for HH which is great. It really is a good HH. But once you get your check you are on your own. They bring you the machine so you pay yourself. We had 2 different gift cards and we had a question but no one would come over to help us. It's like once that machine is in front of you they no longer pay attention to you. Went here for dinner Friday around 10:30 pm. Had a 25 min wait. The inside was full and crowded. Our waiter was attentive all night long and our food and drinks all came out at decent times. Drinks: I tried the Grey Goose Strawberry Mule (10/10) it was soooo good! I was happy I gave this a try because it just might be my new fav drink. We stopped by Yard House for happy hour. When we walked in there was a fair amount of open tables, so I was happy it wasn't super crowded. Our server was Nathan and he was friendly and accommodating!! I like the amount of happy hour options compared to some other restaurants with just a few. We got burger sliders with fries, calamari, poke nachos, and chicken lettuce wraps. The calamari was ok but it was some very tough ones to chew and the portion was small. The tartar sauce that came with it was good and a little spicy. The poke nachos were decent, but I'm not a raw girly to often, so I'd definitely ask if it could be seared. I put it in the air fryer at home, and it was pretty good. My daughter enjoyed it!! The lettuce wraps were just ok, the chicken was kinda rubbery and chewy. The wonton shell was delicious though and the sauce was good. My sliders were supposed to be all the way with lettuce, tomato, onions, and secret sauce. But when they came to the table they were plain with no sauce. I started to eat and about 5 minutes later the food runner brought my correct order. They said they gave me the table next to ours food. So the waiter came back to take it back, and I asked if they'd throw it away? He said yes! Which kinda bothered me. I asked since it was going in the garbage and it wasn't my mistake, could I keep it. He said the manager wouldn't allow it. With inflation why would the manager rather trash perfectly good food? It makes me nervous when restaurants take food back. If it's sat down on a table it shouldn't be returned, just take the loss, because how do I know your not going to replace it and serve it to someone else. I'm not a fan of that!! I'm not accusing them of doing that, but that's the thoughts that run through my mind in situations like that. The table was spacious at the booths and it was clean inside. As you get in, there is the restaurant's reception and they take you to the sitting area. Ive tried the brussels sprouts, lettuce wraps, burger sliders, nachos, Wisconsin cheese curds, boneless wings, pizzas and salads. They have a great beer selection. Horrible server!!! His name was Erik S., and I only know his name from the receipt because he never introduced himself. He was super rude, not kind, and would run away from our table after every sentence we would say. When our food came out, it was all greasy on my plate and taco shells. The rice and beans were thrown on my plate like it was made for an animal. My niece got a classic burger medium well; it was cooked medium pink all in the middle. We had dinner at Yard House mid-week before the holiday rush with friends visiting for the July 4th weekend--first time for some of them, and it did not disappoint. From the service to the food, everything was spot on. Our server, Sarah, made the experience even better. She was personable, knowledgeable, and offered spot-on recommendations from both the food menu and the extensive beer list. She explained the spice levels in various dishes with clarity, which helped everyone make choices that suited their tastes. Lately, I've been on a mission to try Brussels sprouts at every restaurant, and Yard House's Crispy Brussels Sprouts with gochujang sauce and malt vinegar aioli dip may be one of my favorites. They had a subtle kick from the gochujang, which the aioli smoothed out perfectly. The crispy leaves had great texture and were flavorful enough to stand on their own. We also shared the Onion Ring Tower, which is always a hit. The light beer batter was crisp and didn't fall apart when you bit into them--a small but impressive detail. The dip had a touch of spice that added just the right zing. For mains, the Korean BBQ Cheesesteak stood out as a creative and flavorful twist on a classic. The combination of kimchi and gochujang brought bold, authentic flavors that paired surprisingly well with the rich cheesesteak. The place was packed and, when we finally got to our table, we ordered a lot of food: * Korean Ribeye Platter with Gochujang Fries - Super tender and probably the best dish of the night. Party of 6 and we ordered drinks, appetizers, and mains. Two appetizers came quickly along with a beer and cocktail. My husband's drink (which was just sake in a glass, they don't even give you a bottle like most places) didn't arrive until AFTER his appetizer which was later than the others. We ordered burgers, noodles, one app as a main, and tenders. All of it was bland, my spicy chicken had zero kick, the mains arrived randomly instead of together, and one of the burgers was only half cooked. We thought he had gotten a tuna burger with how raw it looked. All the fries were late to arrive with the mains that should have gotten them. The total for 3 drinks, 2 apps, 2 mains was over $100!
