We had a great time at Lunasea. The drinks were great and reasonably priced. I was super impressed with the crab legs! Cooked perfectly and plenty of butter and old bay.

The specials tonight including the blacken scallops were delicious. Steamboil was a hit and steak onion and cheese sandwich were hits with the kids! Abby the waitress and Joe the host were impeccable! Ambiance was tranquil for a busy Saturday night. Really enjoyed this evening and looking forward to another visit!

Overall, it was a good experience, but the food was just ordinary with nothing special. The ambiance and service were nice. We arrived very late and hungry, and since they were open and not busy, we decided to give it a try.

We sat at the bar and all the mixologist were very attentive. For such a beautiful space the bathroom leaves a lot to desire so e ready for a run down space for a $$ bite or drinks. I was very impressed by their different selection in mocktails.

Oceanfront views, open windows, and a coastal, airy vibe make it a genuinely scenic spot. Perfect for sunset dinners or drinks with the water right there. The energy at the bar was lively but not overwhelming. Clam Chowder: Rich, creamy, good balance of clams to potatoes. Classic and comforting. House Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing: Fresh greens, generous portion of blue cheese. Tangy and well-dressed without being soggy. Burger: Flavor was excellent, juicy, well-seasoned. Came out slightly overcooked for my preference, but still delicious. Drinks: Two Old Fashioneds were balanced and strong. Also had a shot of Jim Beam bourbon. This is where the experience fell short. I'm a 20%+ tipper and I sit at bars often, so I understand how busy it gets. But the difference in service was hard to miss. Tatiana (bartender): Greeting took much longer than other guests. I wasn't asked if I was eating or drinking right away, yet I watched her promptly greet others, offer water, take orders, then ask for a card. With me, she asked for a card for the tab immediately. The interaction felt noticeably different from how she treated other patrons. I give grace when I can, but the contrast was clear and can't be ignored. I also noted her manager appeared to be a Black man, which made the disparity feel even more disappointing. Hayden (bar back): Cool and helpful. Stepped in, checked on things, and was genuinely hospitable. I reluctantly left her 15%. Honestly, I didn't want to give her anything at all but a piece of my mind. The good Lord Jesus is working on me, so I left the 15% and walked away. As a regular 20%+ tipper, that drop speaks volumes about how the service felt. Pros: Scenic oceanfront atmosphere, good food with strong flavors, solid cocktails. Hayden's help improved the night. Cons: Inconsistent bar service. The burger was slightly overcooked. Most concerning was feeling singled out by Tatiana's approach compared to other guests. Catch 31 delivers on location and food. The view and the chowder alone are worth a stop. But the service experience at the bar was uneven and left me feeling offended as a paying customer who tips well. I hope management addresses the disparity, because the place has too much potential to be weighed down by that. Would return for the food and view, but hesitant about the bar experience with Tatiana.

5 stars - May 14, 2026 - Virginia Beach, VA…read more Stopped by The Atlantic during happy hour and this place absolutely lived up to the hype. Between the atmosphere, service, location, pricing, and quality of the food, this was an easy 5-star experience for me. It's only about a block from the beach, and to top it off they offer complimentary valet parking, which was a huge plus in the Virginia Beach area. We ordered the happy hour raw oysters ($12 for 12) and the "Oysters Rock" ($12 for 12), and both were outstanding. The Oysters Rock were very similar to Oysters Rockefeller and were perfectly done -- rich, flavorful, and cooked just right without overpowering the oyster itself. The East Coast oysters on the half shell were also excellent. I'm not exactly sure where on the East Coast they were sourced from, but they were a good size with deep cups and loaded with oyster liquor -- fresh, clean, and briny in the best way possible. The drinks were one of the biggest surprises. A generous-sized martini for $4 and a large mojito for $4? In a nice restaurant this close to the beach? That's almost unheard of these days. The well rum was only $2 and the well gin was $4. Incredible happy hour prices all around. The hush puppies ($20 for two orders) were very good too, although I would've liked a little more crab in them. The only real markdown of the meal was the Hamachi sashimi/yellowtail ($12 happy hour price). It tasted fine, but the portion was definitely on the small side and didn't really feel worth the price compared to everything else we ordered. We also tried the calamari ($12), shrimp flatbread ($9), and elote ($14), and overall the food quality across the board was very solid. Service from Leanon was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. I live in California but travel to Virginia Beach frequently, and this place has officially moved near the top of my must-return list every time I'm in town. Great seafood, great vibe, amazing happy hour pricing, and a perfect beach-area location. Hard to beat.

Brilliant idea. The hostess took our name and phone number and we received a txt when our table was ready. The hostess was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was amazing. Since it is mainly a seafood restaurant the aesthetic was ocean or bay themed. They had great decorations of coral reef and other things found in the ocean around the restaurant. They had a great seating area for patrons who were waiting for a table. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was our first time at this restaurant we were unsure about what we should order. She gave great suggestions. We ordered the fried oysters, oyster burger, and shrimp with vegetables and eggs. We also ordered a pineapple crush and the localizer. The food was very flavorful and fresh. The oyster burger was very unique it had a fried oyster on top of the patty which was great. It was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The fried oysters were great as well. They came with Pita bread and spinach dip to make an oyster sandwich. Amazing!!! The drinks were on point as well.
