Beachside Social is a fun spot with a big, open space and lots of energy. There are games set up in the middle, and you can even reserve lanes, which makes it great for groups. It was quite empty when we visited on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of seating areas, so it's easy to hang out and relax. The food is your typical bowling alley-style fare -- tasty but a bit on the pricey side. The options we got were good! Overall, it's a solid place for parties or teens to hang out and have a good time!

Beachy Beautiful inside. I absolutely love the colorful umbrellas over the tables. Makes it feel like summertime. Even during the winter it has that summer vibe. It's wonderful. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Easy to sign up and on a busy Saturday we only waited 10 minutes before getting a court for Shuffleboard. Then if you have never played (like us) they give you a nice lesson and tell you to make a few practice shots. Now lets get to the food. We got sliders, wings, waffle fries, and a hummus tray. All of it came out fast and wonderful. The sliders were perfect in every way and the perfect size. Wings had alot of flavor, they are finger licking good. Ok, you know I got a cocktail. Bahama Mama was excellent and a really good size, I highly recommend all the food and definitely order a drink. YUMMMM. Everything was wonderful. Happy staff, great location, tasty food and wonderful drinks. I can't wait to go back. I was the big winner By The Way. This is a must if your in the Virginia Beach area. Or make a special trip because it is worth it. It is such a GREAT time.

Beachside social has a fun retro vibe. They have an insta-worthy giant Virginia Beach sign as you're coming up the stairs and once you get upstairs it's one wide open floor plan with the bar, the shuffleboard courts and bocce ball in the back food off to the side and there's also tables where you could do board games Being on the upper level and right across from the boardwalk you have fun views and it's a fun way to change things up from the typical bar scene and try something new.

This is the perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon at the beach. It's got a boating and beachy theme, but cute with neon signs and paper lanterns. The main area is wide open and airy, and there's fun activities all around - a photo booth area in one corner, bocce ball in the back, shuffleboard lanes with dining tables at the end of each. There's more seating (counters, lounge seats, dining tables) along the perimeter of the room where groups can play board games, Jenga, Connect 4, and foosball. I enjoyed my drink, a spicy margarita, and they had a nice watermelon juice for my son. We ordered a hummus platter and wings, both of which were good (and the mango habanero wing sauce had just enough heat). Even though the space is huge, and there were a lot of people there, servers are constantly coming around and were helpful.

Beachside is a cool spot. Food and drinks were very good. Their happy hour is pretty decent and their service is great! The space itself is a little weird. The lighting is super dim and I started to barely be able to see my friends by 8pm, lol. I probably wouldn't return unless I had a burning desire to play shuffle board or bocce.....but a fun spot to try, nonetheless!

My husband and I rented two shuffleboard lanes at Beachside Social to spend time with our extended family the night before our wedding. Booking the lanes/catering online was a super easy process. We found the price to be very reasonable for two hours of shuffleboard and catered food for about 30 people. Everyone had an absolute blast and mentioned how they wanted to go back! I would highly recommend hosting any parties/events here.

My friend and I were made famous by their social media page!

Everything about Beachside Social is just amazing! The food, the drinks, the fun! They always have a photo"booth" set up with props and whatnot to capture a memorable photo from your experience! The service was impeccable! A group of us went for a joint birthday celebration and for majority of the group it was their first time and they all agreed they very much enjoyed themselves and said they would like to come back again! Highly recommend!

Dope hang out spot at the oceanfront. We had the shuffleboard lane for about 2 hours. It was my first time playing, but I had fun. This place has plentiful of seating, and tables. Lots of random games to play like jenga & connect four. There is even a cool photo spot area with a bright ring light to take group photos. The staff was super friendly. Bar style food but it was pretty good, and really decent price! I do recommend paying with cash. My friends who paid with card, did see double charges. Also gratuity was added to the shuffle board game, which I do not think should have been added. Otherwise, its a cool spot, with good vibes at the oceanfront. I would come back again.

This is a really great spot!! They have a great view from the windows of the Main Street. They have plenty of seating areas , a cute bar, small little sections to sit at with board games available to play. They have a large connect 4 and jinga to play as well. They also have a selfie station area. Great place to take group photos. Beachside of course has shuffleboard which is a lot of fun with a group. They also offer leagues in the fall and winter. They have a nice bar with a signature cocktail or two. They do also have some appetizers you can order as well. The staff is really friendly and very knowledgeable about the business I asked about specials they have. I'm really looking forward to going back soon!! I think this is a great first date spot, great for groups, birthday parties. They do play music and it's not so loud that you can't talk. Please be sure to go and share your thoughts on your experience!!

Great place for a girls night out! Felt like we were on a cruise ship! Awesome staff to edu-ma-kate your on the rules of "shuffling." Lol Full bar area available. Food available. Selfie station. Great atmosphere. Oh and they have bocce ball as well. I mean....what's not to like? Great for a large party. Work get to together: perfect for team buildings. Street parking available as well.

Beachside Social is the ultimate hangout spot in the Oceanfront area! The vibe is very diner-like yet modern! It was very clean and tidy when we came in. There are so many things to do there like shuffle board, bocce ball, big connect 4, big jenga! On top of that they have a great selection of food and drinks to order. The cheeseburger and brisket sliders come in 3s and they were delicious! The loaded waffle fries were good as well. Very typical diner food but the quality was great! Our server was quite nice. She didn't explain the menu too well and we thought that each of our sliders came with a side of fries or tots but that wasn't the case so we ended up ordering fries on top of the sliders and it made our bill a little more than expected but that's ok. The shuffleboard is $30 per hour and if you're playing with other people, you have the option to split it after the hour is up. There are about 6 courts total! All the other activities like bocce ball, jenga and connect 4 are free. We came when it first opened up on a Sunday so it wasn't busy at all when we came. You can also sit wherever you want so it's like first come first served. I could imagine it being pretty busy on a Friday-Saturday though. I loved that it is completely indoor and nice and cool inside; especially in the summer! One thing I'd mention is that they have their own parking which is super handy (I had no idea and parked a couple streets down and walked)! Definitely a cool date night or group hang out spot! I'll definitely be coming back :)

Beachside Social is hands down my favorite activity at the beach.... well besides just being at the beach. It's great for rainy days, but still stunning on sunny days. It's great for a date night and even better if you're looking for a place for a larger group of friends to gather. They have a little something for everyone. It's kid friendly, but because of the size of the cues make it difficult for the little ones. I say leave em' with a sitter and make this adult playtime if you can. I've spent hours here between hanging out with friends and participating on their league nights, but I'm still awful. It's all good though. You don't need to be a shuffle-pro to have a great time here. They also have bocci ball and board games! If you aren't feeling playful sip on a few of their beachside mojitos to get you in the mood. Their cocktails are hands down my favorite in VB. The price is right and they are delicious. Their food isn't anything to rave about, but it's great to munch on. I haven't been since COVID hit, but reviews from friends say they have been really comfortable with how they are handling social distancing. One thing I also love about this business is how active the owners are in the community. When the pandemic first hit they created a gift box that featured local products to raise money keeping the makers in business.

Shuffleboard courts, boccee ball and an assortment of board games behind the bar to entertain anyone.

I think this time was even better! We arrived around 230 on a Saturday, lucky for us happy hour started at 3 and we had a 30 minute wait for 6 people. Literally perfect timing because no one was waiting before us and about 10-20 minutes later the waiting area became packed for that 3 o clock happy hour. Side note: happy hour is from 3-7, 7 days a week! The service was phenomenal, the whole staff was so nice and accommodating. While we waited for our table, we were able to order a cocktail from one of the waitresses. We also had a baby with a stroller and they made sure we had plenty of room once we were seated at our table. The food was amazing, I'm a fan of cooked oyster but i decided to be a little spontaneous and try them raw. I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and clean tasting these oysters were. It reminded me of eating sashimi. My wife and father in law had the lobster rolls, they both loved them! My son had the double cheeseburger from the happy hour menu, literally cannot beat this deal. $6 double cheeseburger with fries on the boardwalk is unimaginable lol. I had the Nashville hot chicken, which was good but maybe could've used a little more flavor. But the quality of the sandwich as a whole was spot on. I really don't have any complaints, this was the highlight of our day. My in laws live in Wisconsin but they travel a bunch and they said that these oysters were some of the best they had ever had. They would never see 1$ oysters where they live, so I'm glad we were able to come here and create this memory together. If you've ever debated whether taking the trip to the strip is worth it, it is! Definitely check this place out!

Arrived around 6:30 and were able to get a table but it filled up fast. Host noted we were probably new bc Tuesdays were usually familiar faces; love to hear that locals love a place too! We ordered the Buffalo Mushrooms as a starter and let me tell you, it's worth the hype. The crunch on these things is legendary. The sauce is a little spicy but it won't blow your palate out. Also the portion is enormous. We wanted to save our appetite for our mains but just kept eating them. We got the monthly special burger which was the kimchi burger with Brussels sprouts on the side and a wagyu meatball sub with fries. Dear lord that burger! I am trying to remember another burger that I loved this much. The kimchi was cooked down into a bit of a compote which melded with the cheese and gochujang perfectly, the patties were crispy as hell! The bun added a perfect sweetness. I told the server it was "stupid". I almost cried. This can't even capture just how good the food was. I'm sorry. The Brussels sprouts were a little understated, kinda like creamed spinach at a steakhouse. They were delicious but overshadowed by other menu items. The meatballs were spicier than we expected, so if you like a spicy meatball, get after it. The best thing about the sub was the pesto sauce on top, which added a nice green brightness to what was an otherwise heavy sandwich. Good luck picking this monster up, we needed to resort to knife and fork! The fries were on point. Whoever is running the frier at Esoteric has the temp dialed in. I wish we had room for dessert but we were already bagging up most of the sub and fries. The portions here match the prices. Would love to eat outside here when it's a little warmer. Oceanfront views, open windows, and a coastal, airy vibe make it a genuinely scenic spot. Perfect for sunset dinners or drinks with the water right there. The energy at the bar was lively but not overwhelming. Clam Chowder: Rich, creamy, good balance of clams to potatoes. Classic and comforting. House Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing: Fresh greens, generous portion of blue cheese. Tangy and well-dressed without being soggy. Burger: Flavor was excellent, juicy, well-seasoned. Came out slightly overcooked for my preference, but still delicious. Drinks: Two Old Fashioneds were balanced and strong. Also had a shot of Jim Beam bourbon. This is where the experience fell short. I'm a 20%+ tipper and I sit at bars often, so I understand how busy it gets. But the difference in service was hard to miss. Tatiana (bartender): Greeting took much longer than other guests. I wasn't asked if I was eating or drinking right away, yet I watched her promptly greet others, offer water, take orders, then ask for a card. With me, she asked for a card for the tab immediately. The interaction felt noticeably different from how she treated other patrons. I give grace when I can, but the contrast was clear and can't be ignored. I also noted her manager appeared to be a Black man, which made the disparity feel even more disappointing. Hayden (bar back): Cool and helpful. Stepped in, checked on things, and was genuinely hospitable. I reluctantly left her 15%. Honestly, I didn't want to give her anything at all but a piece of my mind. The good Lord Jesus is working on me, so I left the 15% and walked away. As a regular 20%+ tipper, that drop speaks volumes about how the service felt. Pros: Scenic oceanfront atmosphere, good food with strong flavors, solid cocktails. Hayden's help improved the night. Cons: Inconsistent bar service. The burger was slightly overcooked. Most concerning was feeling singled out by Tatiana's approach compared to other guests. Catch 31 delivers on location and food. The view and the chowder alone are worth a stop. But the service experience at the bar was uneven and left me feeling offended as a paying customer who tips well. I hope management addresses the disparity, because the place has too much potential to be weighed down by that. Would return for the food and view, but hesitant about the bar experience with Tatiana.
